Great teacher! No complaints! Go to class and take notes and you will pass the class. He handles out study sheets for each exam with the topic that he wants you to know and the page where you can find the info! What other teacher actually does that?!&

Excellent teacher. Work must be done go get a good grade from his class, but if you do the work you will definitely get good grade...He will basically guides and provides everything for you, but you need to study what he gives you...

Great Professor, very clear. I highly recommend him if you actually want to learn something. Be ready to do your work though, slacking will cost you. There are no gimmie answers on the tests.

He's a great proffesor. You will definatly learn something from him. Its not the easist class ever (but hey its honors). However, if you do what he asks of you and you ask him that you want a good grade he will help you out.

This guy is the MAN. He makes the class so entertaining with his personal stories and witty comments. Awesome sense of humor. He gives you a study guide for all the tests at the beginning, so you know what to study. His tests are harder because he puts thought into making it, so if you learn you'll do well. Uses powerpoint. Best Teacher IMO.

Next to Dr. Adam Wetsman who teaches anthropology at Rio Hondo. Dr. Padgett is the best teacher I have ever had. I don't even have to include typos for this to be believable.

The study guide should be your bible aside from the text book. Don't wait until the last minute to answer the questions...answer them as he lectures and if you didn't get it by the end of the class ask him the answer! he will tell you!! MOST of those questions are in the study guide are on the test!! His a funny guy and a good professor over all!

There's nothing else to add. Dr. Padgett is simply one of the best teachers that you will ever encounter. Period.

By far the best professor I've had. He's not easy. But he makes you wanna learn. 3 hours in class may seem like a long time, but he entertains as he teaches. He's so smart and natural. Makes you wonder why he chooses to teach in a community college rather than a much more prestige institution. Thank your lucky stars he's there.

The best teacher I've had so far. I love going to his class. Yes, his study guide and your notes will be the most important thing in class. There is no homework but 4 exams which you will have to study a good several hours to get a good grade.

i LOVE this professor. when he starts talking, you know he's SUPER nice. tests are not too hard because gives you a study guide with about 10 questions from test (Ask him before test). also REALLY understanding. missed A by two pts and he gave it to me. but you have to show that you worked hard in the class (he knows, so work hard) HIGHLY recommend

Dr. Padgett is an extremly smart guy. He is very knowledgable about Psychology. He is a great professor. He assings a lot of work, but it's not difficult. Tests are moderate, but you do have to take good notes and READ THE TEXTBOOK in order to get a good grade. He is so much fun.

Mr. Padgett is very funny but you must pay attention to understand him. He doesnt require attendance, but its best that you go cause some of the stuff that he says will be on the test, but not in the notes or the book.

Padgett class was great, actually got me interested in psychology. He does use a lot of power point and could be boring at times especially when he talks about his ex wife haha. Tests can be difficult if you dong study his study guide (everything there is on the test plus some notes). Liked his class and would take him again.

Great instuctor! He knows his subject very good. Asking him a question and he can tell you ever detail about the subject in psy. Very helpful and he enjoys when you go see in during his office hours. A MUST for psy. You have to show up everyday to get a good grade in the class. He is funny and great teacher

great teacher. i learned a lot from him. attendance is not mandatory but his power points are important because they will be on the test. everything that's on the study guide is on the test, so i would recommend using them.

Dr. Padgett's class is the BEST class I have taken in college so far. He's very knowledgeable in his subject(Ph.D), and has a great sense of humor. Just follow his study guide, and read the sections and you are guaranteed an A. I RECOMMEND!!

Great professor. He will drop you from the class if you have 2 or 3 bad grades on the exams within the drop deadline just because he's cool like that. I wish my other professors did what he did so it wouldn't affect my GPA. Make sure you go to all his lectures, he's a very smart and knowledgeable guy. Made psychology an interesting subject.

I'm currently taking him for Psy 200 he is "Excellent" a tough professor but hes preparing you for advance courses at the university. Theres alot of reading, tests and quizzes but this class is worth the time. Hes funny and keeps you from being bored. I learned alot and highly recommend this professor.

Took him for Research Methods in Psychology and for Life Span & Development and he is awasome. He honestly has the heart for what he does, he is funny and you will learn a lot. Easy to approach and his stories will help you remember certain points for the test! I LOVE HIM AND WOULD LOVE TO TAKE ANOTHER CLASS WITH HIM!!! :D

Hes a cool guy.Helped me get into the class.Rio wasnt clearing my prerequisites.He gives a lot of work so dont get behind. I think most of it was busy work, but you do learn from the repetition. All his quizes are the exact questions from cozbys (textbook)online ones. His lectures are short and you gotta do most the reading and studying on your own

Ph.D Padgett is an extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and wonderful member of the Rio Hondo faculty. He is witty and really engages with his students. He is always willing to help his students and goes about it in a fun way. I will definitely take what he taught to the next level of college. You will not regret taking any of his classes!

excellent guy funny and knows what he is talking about. i took the class on Wednesdays only so it was a 5 hr course, he is never late absent and we never left early but time flew.

Funny teacher. Provides an atmosphere you don't dread being in. Really into European history in terms of Psychology obviously but also culture so he'll bring it up often. Reading the chpts for his tests are crucial. Overall an easy grader (on little assignments and on the research reports). I recommend always attending to ensure that A.

Research and Methods was very challenging bc of the work load. Read the book to do well on the testsquizzes. GOOGLE THE BOOK FOR PRACTICE TESTS bc most of the questions come from there. TRUST ME. He grades super painstakingly and doesn't miss anything. Follow all directions in the workbook for the reports and you'll be fine.

Professor Padgett was an amazing professor and I really enjoyed attending his class. He does not assign a lot of homework. Maybe a small worksheet before the test, but that's it. The tests can be a bit tricky. Putting enough time into studying is necessary to achieve a good grade. Overall an AMAZING professor. Please consider him when taking Psych!

Best professor ever! You need to read the book to pass the class. His study guides are very helpful with the test(probably best you do it) and if you follow his guidelines you will pass. I definitely recommend, and would take again.

Mr. Padgett is a very interesting person. His lectures can be long, but he always has a story to tell which makes the lecture not so boring. He gives study guides that are helpful. The only downside to the class is the daily worksheets you have to complete. They can be time consuming. Great teacher! Take him!

I took Dr. Padgett for Psy 101H and Psy 200H and enjoyed both experiences thoroughly. He is sort of nitpicky on assignments, double check your grammar and make sure your papers are touching the bottom of the page! Great overall professor, definitely one of my favorites leaving Rio Hondo.

I love Dr. Padgett. Research methods is not particularly the most interesting of topics but with his stories and examples, he makes the class less dreadful. I would DEFINITELY recommend going to his office hours to have him proofread research reports. He also uses some test questions from the textbook author's website on his quizzes!! Good luck!

This class has a a heavy work load but it is all easy and you can do most the work in class he is very clear on what he wants in the papers and what is on the tests is in the study guide.

Great teacher. Grades tough, really tough. Plenty of reading, studying, but ec was available. Cumulative exams. Study guides. He gets upset when students do not follow direction. Work for ur A, even if he sees ur struggling but working hard he will notice. Writting and grammar skills are a must! Bring a jacket, his room is freezing even in summer.

Professor Padgett is a great professor. Yes, he may mark off some spelling and punctuation errors in your papers, but he does it so you learn how to write a research paper. If you have questions, ask him; he's more of a great help when you personally ask him questions. Lastly, reading is a must for his class, or at least if you want a decent grade.

Hes forgetful I mean hes turning old give the man credit for extending his retirement to do what he loves. As long as you reach out to him for help you shouldnt fail. Do the StudyGuides & ResearchReports, they may seem overwhelming at 1st but make some friends to not drown alone. 3/4 of the StudyGuides answers are from lectures, listen carefully

I came back to do another review based on the last few I just read that rubbed me the wrong way. I attended Rio Hondo College several years ago and have went on to earn my Masters degree from USC. Professor Padgett does nothing but prepare you for a future of paper writing if you are looking to pursue a degree beyond community college.

I was intimidated when I first joined the class. But this old man can be entertaining in a synical way. Kinda like devil wears Prada when it comes to impressing him. But when you finally meet his standards, youll fly by in the class. This is one of my first classes that Im sad to be leaving the teacher AND classmates. Definitely recommend

Has a very poetic,calm voice and interesting lectures. Wise man with lots of experience. Taking notes all the time but very easy to read. Start studying your notes and homework early for best results. Tempting to zone out during class but its best to stay focused. Recommend this class 100 percent. Wont regret.

Mr. Vernon Padgett is an excellent teacher with years of experience and is an over-all great lecturer. He makes the lecture interesting with historical context and is just an enjoyable presence. Attendance is not mandatory for your overall grade, however, random extra credit assignments are usually hidden within classes. Great person, cool Tesla

Professor Padgett is so funny. Class is always interesting with him. There is a lot to do for his class, but he will work with you. There is two research papers on a specific topic of his choice and then there is a final research paper with the topic of your choice. Quizzes and exams are based off the book. Be sure not to miss class!

Dr. Padgett is a funny instructor, especially when he talks about his ex-wife. His syllabus is very clear. Your grade is based off of 6 midterm exams and a final exam. The exams are all multiple choice and he provides useful study guides online, so study well. He also gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester.

I took his class during Spring 2020, both before and during quarantine and he made the class really simple to follow and easy to succeed if you do the work. The study guides help a ton for the exams, but they require you to scour the book and lectures (which isn't a lot to ask for an A.) Follow the study guides, do the written assignments!

Professor Padgett is really good and his lectures are really easy to understand. The tests are mainly from the lectures but have some textbook info, so i would start reading the textbook before a test so the material is easier to remember.

Its been almost 10 years since Ive taken this class and I still use some of Padgetts analogies. I didnt have to open the text book because he made the psychology classes interesting and relatable by using real life examples

My favorite psychology Professor Ive taken so far! He responds to emails quickly with feedback. You must attend the lectures because its on the weekly quizzes! I thought Research Methods was going to be scary, but he is helpful.

Although he does talk a lot, his class is easy especially if youre showing up. His study guides state exactly whats going to be on the quiz and is lenient when needed! Nice man.

Padgett is a great professor. In order to pass, you must do the work though. Not an easy A although he's very helpful and knowledgeable . If you need assistance, he'll be there to help. There's many assignments but if you keep up with them, you shouldn't break too much of a sweat doing them. Can be funny and incorporates his life into the lessons

I cannot stretch how awesome he is. He gives such great feedback and lets you resubmit assignments. We have a quiz every week and a lot of assignments but he helps you so much! I have adhd and have a hard time concentrating but he has helped me through it. He cares about his students & wants us to succeed. THANK YOU!

Really great professor! The course load was fine. We take weekly chapter quizzes, some assignments here and there, and mini-quizzes. There will be times when multiple things are due, but nothing impossible either. Just attend class and do the assignment, If you ever need help with something, he is always willing to help.

Padgett is a very good professor. He is very passionate about what he teaches and is very understanding when it comes to assignments. If you have an issue you can always address it to him. The work is consistent; if you give effort, you'll get a good grade. Although, his teacher's aid Lisa is not helpful at all. She is rude and not organized.
