She is a good professor but very sarcastic. Her tests are hard because she writes her own tests. If your into that sort of thing take her!!!! She thinks she is helping you by doing this but she?s not. You can study your butt off and still do poorly. She will give you a lot of help but over all she can only teach the material one way. She gets mixed

from my class mates. Some lover her, some hate her. If you do poorly she tells you it?s because you either don?t study or don?t study enough. She likes to tell you that you need to rethink the field of interest you are going into if you do poorly on the tests. Over all she is nice, but her teaching methods could use some improvements.

Wheaton is great!! Chemistry by no means is easy, but Wheaton will help you get through it. She extended her office hours to form a study group to help her students. She is not interested in everyone getting an A. She wants you to understand Chemistry...and now I actually do!!! Go figure!LOL

She gives a "What is it About" worksheets for every chapter. If you do those and use her office hours/study group you should do fine. Don't expect an A if you dont work for it.

SHE is funny and keeps you interested in class. However if the class blows a test, she takes it very personally and gets pissed at us. She makes chemisty easier to relate to because she makes it relate to "real life"-- Much better than any old white guy teaching this class.

I think prof. Wheaton is an awesome teacher. Yes she's tough and writes her own tests,but when you take advantage of her office hours she is extremly helpful with any questions. her pace is fast but I found that I really learned this stuff(of course it helps to study too.) chem isn't easy overall.

She reminds you of your mother who always tries to cheer you on no matter how much you mess up. Takes time to out of her own life to be there for her students. Passionate and knowledgable about chemistry and wants you to know it and not just memorize just for the class itself. Great professor and a comedian too!!

Wheaton land is the place to be!! Very difficult class if never taken chem before..she is great at teaching and the comparisons to everyday life with chem examples..got to do the work, and study the "what is it about" and you will make it.. she is funny and you will have a great time learning in her class!! wheaton is an aweosme instructor! her teaching style isn't for the weak of heart but she's so helpufl and gives opportunitys for extra credit on the tests adn its easy to get at least a C if not B as long as you show up and do all the work and do a good deal of studying before the tests.. overall not that hard compapred to other teachers.just study

very unique way of teaching. relates chemistry to ral life situations. funny at imes. but testing is a different story. horrible tests and quizzes. "think about it's" (study guide) is extremly useless. tests or "mental challenge" (exams) are worth 150 pts each. book was a waste of money. wouldnt recommend taking her.

Chemistry is hard but Wheaton can help you pass the class I got A. To pass her class you need to spend a lot of time.

Put it this way, She is the hardest teacher you will ever have but if you're a nursing major she makes A&P seem like cake compared to what you'll go through in her class. For that matter I am glad I took her class. I barely passed with a C and have never stressed or studied so hard in my life but it was worth it!

Read the Book. Ms. Wheaton is a great instructor if you apply yourself. She will not carry you thru the class,but she makes it interesting. But you have to read the book and apply what you read.She will help you anyway she can.Taking beacon and going to her during her office hours and ask questions helps alot.

Loved this class. Really enjoyed her VERY different teaching style. She will try hard to help students and is available during her office hours for questions. Beacon is a must because she doesn't go backwards in class! Tests are HARD, not multiple choice but answers can be worth partial credit. Be prepared to study!!

Wheaton's a strict teacher but she made it so fun! I'll never regret taking her cause A+P was not hard cause of her. Shes faithful in her students n they want 2 study n listen 2 her lectures. Got a A in her class. I hated chemistry going in and now I'm taking CHEM 400 (General Chemistry) just for the fun of it. She's tough because she wants you to learn. Anyone who takes this class will be well prepared for upcoming classes. She weeds out the people who are just going through the motions and those who really want to learn.

Covers the subject well, but tests are very hard. Lab's are weighted heavy on your grade and are graded fairly easy, just make sure lab write ups look like they had effort put into them. Don't stress about getting D's on her exams, I had 2 and managed to pass with a B because other assignments are graded easy. Get on her good side!

Chemistry is time consuming. Her lectures are right from the book so if you read and practice you will be well prepared for the regular tests. Her big exams are challenging. She expects you to study, participate and learn the information so you are not a dummy going into chem 400. You have to put adaquite effort into her class to succeed.

She is not and easy A teacher, you actually learn. She goes over the material word by word if she feels the class does not get. Wheaton is awesome!!! You can tell she truely cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. As long as you come to class, take notes, read the book, and do hw, you will get a good grade. Chem is time consuming but, you get what you put in. I highly recommend taking her for chemistry!

Wheaton is a good teacher. You just have to understand where she is coming from. Be prepared to learn. She may not appear approachable.. but really she is. She does truly want people to succeed and she has a huge heart.

she is a great teacher, but can be very blunt to say how you are doing(as a student) if you dont keep up. very helpful one on one and understanding if you give her notice prior. if you dont take school seriously than dont take her becuase she is very helpful but only to ppl that want to help themselves.

Do NOT take her if you are expecting to coast. You must read the text because there is only so much she can cover in lecture and chemistry is a difficult topic. As long as you keep up with the reading, do the hw well before the test, preferably right after she covers it in class, you will do well. Review notes! Quizes & exams are worth ~60%.

She is happy to answer questions most of the time but sometimes she is in bad mood , I kinda understand her she has 100 ppl asking her question...to get an A, study, go to beacon, study, practice.

Wheaton is a cool teacher. Intimidating to some but open to those that show interest and ask for help. She does her part in preparing for class, so she expects the same from you and does not answer trivial questions. Her exams are tough but understand the concepts and do the homework, and you'll be fine. This course was a great recap for CHEM400!

With Wheaton you have to stay on task. She is very quick and she expects you to work. She is best to ask questions at her office hour, trying to ask her in lecture is kind of embarrassing. I am not fond of her style but she knows her stuff and she knows it well. Take her if you're already good in the subject, if you suck don't!

Great instructor! Very good at explaining chemistry in everyday terms. It's a hard class and she has some hard tests but if you try on your labs and homework you'll get good grades on them.

Wonderful professor! When i first started the class, i was thinking about dropping it but she made me and everybody, work very hard. I have never worked that hard in any of my college classes yet. I have learned more than just chemistry in this class. She prepares you for tough future classes. Loved her!

I had never taken a chemistry class before hers, and I now I wish my major would allow me to take more. She takes things that make absolutely no sense in the book and makes them crystal clear.

She was my first chemistry class, she was hard but oh God do you learn so much! If you're a science major and looking to learn, take her. She's the reason why i'm never switching out of a science major, because after you survive her, you become a better student and learn just how rigorous science is.

SO many out-of-class assignments: pre-labs, lab reports, lab + chapter reading assignments, and additional homework assignments for when class is cancelled. Try to studyread with all that work. There are RANDOMNESS and SURPRISES, there just are. Too often are the instructions on lab reports not clear. Best chem prof. ARC has to offer though.

Professor Wheaton is honestly the most caring professor I have had in my college career. Yes she is hard. Yes she doesn't answer questions. Yes she may seem intimidating but if she see you caring she will do all in her power to help you succeed in the course and further down the road.

I attempted her Chem310 over summer. MISTAKE. She expects you to have a chem background from HS which I didn't. Though she is a VERY SWEET and incredibly thoughtful professor I could not keep up. This prof will make you work for it. DO NOT skip class. The avg grade reflects those who drop her. Give her a chance. She's hard but WORTH IT!!!!

This is a tough course but it is something you have to stick through the end. Going to see her in person is better if you need to be clear on a subject. I would recommend going to her office hours once a week or once every other week. She is tough but she rewards students who put in the work and show the effort.

Definitely a tough class, and she expects a lot from her students. As long as you listen and participate in lecture and lab you will have no problems with the class and with Wheaton. Also, if you pass her class you are fully prepared for Chem400 and every other professor seems easy.

I love Wheaton. She is so much fun, very entertaining, loves to banter with her students. However, if youre not willing to put in time and effort, dont bother. She cares about her students but she makes you work for your grade. Not an easy class by any means, but I feel very prepared for Chem 400, and would go back just to visit Wheaton.

She is an amazing person and devotes a lot of her time to helping her students. A lot of people don't like her because she wants you engaging in class rather than taking a lot of notes, unlike most professors. If you have questions you shouldn't be afraid to ask her and if you're willing to really try in the class, you should pick her.

Great professor I would recommend her and if she taught OChem still I would take her class. I was reluctant to not take notes in class but when I finally gave in to her teaching which she warned us on the first day was how it was going to be Im actually understanding chemistry for the first time this is my second time taking Chem 400.

This was my second time taking chem 400 & i was pleasantly surprise. Veronica is very invested in her students success & what she can do to help them as long as they are putting in the work as well. I stayed after class many times to ask for help with specific topics & she explained them to me until i got them.I love her i would highly recommend!

Professor cares and wants her students to engage with the subject matter. She cares about students knowing how to apply this class by learning a process and that very process will help you on test day. Very understanding once you have the process with partial credit chances.
