The material can be hard- but that's the nature of the coursework, not the professor. We're not talking basket weaving classes here! He has all of the notes already on a website for you and is super helpful.

Best Bio teacher at Santa Fe, hands down. His tests are challenging and take a good 15-30 hours study time (for an A), but you will learn the subject. His website and class note systems are also wonderful. He is very nice and works with you if you have an illness etc. Moody is an exceptional example of a great teacher.

Dr. Moody is an awesome professor. I changed majors and took BSC2005 previously. I have learned so much more in 2010 rather than 2005. He knows what he is talking about and will help anyone that has any problem. Highly recommended!

biology is a diffucult subject, in general. dr moody really knows his stuff and tries to make sure you understand the material. the tests are hard, you must devote lots of study time. this is more of a uf-paced course.. challenging, yet attainable.

Do NOT take him for the summer session. He gives major tests every Monday, which are very HARD, so plan on having no weekends free for fun. On average, about 20+ hrs of study MAY get you an A on the test. Every lab has a quiz (again HARD) that count for a grade. So, lets recap:6 week course, 6 tests, 1 final and 14 lab quizzes. But, he's nice.

Very good teacher, knows the subject matter backwards & forward. But over the summer it was a lot to digest. It was a lot of work, and in order to make an A on his test you truly have to master the material. But he gives extra credit, and works with the class as a whole. I would recommend taking him. He is really good teacher.

Dr. Moody was a excellent teacher. Don't listen to any of these comments listed below. It's called pull your book out and study your notes and thats how you will exceed. He's not looking to fail anyone! He gives a lot of oputunties for people to pass with A's!

He is extremely helpful if you're confused. Don't be afraid to ask a question that you should know; he's understanding and will explain in detail. This class is tough, so be prepared to study and constantly be reviewing. He gives plenty of extra credit. Moody is a wonderful professor, and really prepares you for UF.

He loves to stare a cute girls but overall he is the cutest nerd ever. He is willing to help if you show that your motivated. Had a D+ with his help I could possibly get a B. Take his class :)

GREAT TEACHER!! He has a lot of grades, so your final grade is not just based off of exams. He is a very good teacher and very helpful if you go to office hours or talk to him once lab is over. AWESOME teacher! take him! if you like biology this class is a breaze, and you learn a lot also. If you don't like biology make sure you keep up with your work and you'll still get an A no problem. He also gives lots of extra credit at the end of the semester, it boosted my grade by a little more then a letter.

Prof Moody is awesome! He has such a great energy about him. Lectures are perfectly clear. Attendance is not mandatory, but he doesn't just hand out the notes so it's a good idea to go. The tests are HARD! Had to devote at least 12 hours of studying to come out with an A. But if you really want to learn bio take him. Book is def needed

One of the best teachers I've had in my entire life time. This is my second time taking with class with a different teacher and I KNOW I did better in his class. He loves what he does, loves to help and actually stays in the labs to help you. You HAVE to take notes and attendance is a good idea. Study!

Dr. Moody is an incredible professor. He expects a lot of work from you, so don't prepare to slack off in this class, but he makes the material INTERESTING, and you learn a LOT. Bio 2 requires a lot of memorization and he paces the learning very well through the semester. He is friendly, professional, and fair. Fun class, but a lot of hard work.

Now, you are going to have to work, but it's totally worth being in his class! I received an A for both semesters. Just keep up with the work and you should be fine!

Such a great teacher!! He was my favorite. Dr. Moody is so helpful and such a smart guy. I could ask him anything about science or anything at all and he would be able to answer my question. Lots of work & a quiz almost every class. But its worth it because you will learn and met a teacher that TRULY wants his students to do well.

I love Dr. Moody. It's not an easy class though. Use the masteringbiology online, it's a savior when it comes to tests. Labs aren't too bad. The persone who wrote that Dr. Moody is the worst teacher is just lazy! Yes he gives you a lot of work, but you end up really knowing the material and the more work you have the better chance of getting a good grade because there are assignements to work with. I took Core Biology 1, and Dr. Moody is one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. Sure, his tests are hard, and to get an A, you are going to have to work hard, but this is Biology, so that should be expected. Regardless, he will never hesitate to help you if you are confused about anything. Trust me, take his class.

Moody is such a wonderful professor! He gives alot of extra credit and attendance is not mandatory although it is strongly encouraged in order to do well on his exams. Study hard, use textbooks, complete quizzes and you should be fine. I thought initially that I wasn't going to pass his class but turns out I got an A!

You have to be FAST at note taking or use a laptop because he uses powerpoint+lecture at the same time, and it moves very quickly. I have a background in Biology, and it helped A LOT this class. I felt he didn't convey the information very well in regards to the bio/science sections. Everything else was fine, and I enjoyed it very much. :)

Difficult class (BSC2010), excellent prof. Dr Moody gladly answers questions, uses study guides and acts on feedback from students. Taken him twice, only complaint this semester was that we got graded tests back but no answer keys to check what was incorrect. 5/5 rating

I have taken Dr. Moody for Bio 1 and now Bio 2. He is very helpful when you ask questions and doesnt really care about attendance. He is definantly hard and specific on his test but really is a great teacher. You will have to work for your grade!

Excellent teacher. I took BSC 1001 with him. Be aware, the material covers A LOT of stuff, but Dr. Moody makes it easy and is very helpful. His explanations are smooth, clear, and well structured. I would highly recommend him.

Prof. Moody is a great professor. Took 6 wk course, online class w/ Sat lab. The assignments are online course we buy (inc. online text) and the 3 exams based on the text, labs, and videos he posts. Makes himself available w/ office hrs, email, and during lab. Class requires work, but do all the work, and don't miss lab, you'll get at least a B.

He is an awesome professor, i love his teaching style. The only downside is the text book, its really a challenge and you have quizes on the reading all the time, they are open note though. (still a massive pain unless you have super through notes). Its deff not an easy A but ive learned alot form the class.

His class is not easy. During his notes I learned alot, the book was... well i just gave up on reading it because it was so confusing. Quizes are open note but your notes must be beyond amazing for them to do much good. The class was fun and I learned a ton. Some of this info is helping me with other classes to(:

I had Moody for lab once a week and everything else was online. As far as Bio classes go, his is not that hard. THAT BEING SAID, there is a lot of work. You won't be able to just coast through, but that's true of all the sciences at SF. Most of the work is on Learnsmart. Labs are informative. 4 Angel exams and lab manual turned in at the end.

I can easily say that he is one of the best professors in Santa Fe. He knows his stuff, that's for sure. He gives extra credit for taking reading notes (we take notes from the book) and all of the quizzes are open notes. You just have to do your reading notes regularly. Take him!

Dr. Moody really loves biology, and that comes through in all of his lectures and activities. That said, he really wants you to understand, and his evaluations reflect that desire. Do not expect to memorize the book. You need to understand the material and be able to apply it to do well in this class. The other bio teachers are boring. Take Moody!

GREAT professor. People who complain have no idea how lucky they are to have a professor in the sciences who actually wants to TEACH. His class is very demanding, but he tells you what to expect for his tests. Listen carefully to what he says you have to do to make an A. Take notes in class and the book, review the HW, form a study group. WORK!

Had a lot of extra but very easy grades such as book notes which are a must to take quizzes but it's open notes therefore a very easy grade. Labs were moderate but the exams were tougher than expected. Attendance is a must in the sense that you WILL miss a quiz if you don't show up. Good for bio 1 but unless you're dedicated don't take.

Although this is not an easy class, Moody is a great professor and will do everything he can to help you pass. If you go to class and do all of your reading notes and mastering bio homework you will have enough of a cushion to make up for his hard tests. People in my class did get A's on the exams so it is possible, but don't expect to slide by.

Dr. Moody is a great professor; he seems to thoroughly enjoy teaching and doesn't subject you to death-by-powerpoint. This class was, however, very time consuming. Great class to take online. Met on Saturday for lab. Dr. Moody was very excited about teaching us and made sure to learn the names of all of his students. Very quick to respond to issues from students. Exams are very detailed so make sure to do the reading. Highly recommend taking him.

I took the class during spring b which is like taking a summer class. It was eight weeks of meeting on saturdays for lab. it's important not to miss any classes. keeping up with reading and online homework assignments are a must. mr. moody was great. He made the Saturdays seem doable. i highly recommend this teacher .

I absolutely loved Dr. Moody's class! He is knowledgeable and fair. His tests do incorporate quite a lot of information, especially as a Summer B class, but if you do your work and show up to the lab, its impossible to not get at least a B. I would definitely take any of his classes again! One of my favorite professors so far!

Moody is a very good teacher copy the slides do the reading and study the in class quizzes and you'll be fine. You have to do you work you can't surf through his classes after he is a PHD so its not gonna be easy.

Professor Moody is awesome to say the least. He expects a lot from his students but holds himself to a yet higher standard. A love of David Attenborough is required for this class. Learn to take notes on both the powerpoints and on his lecture at the same time. He does not just read the slides! His class improved my note taking exponentially!

Has his doctorate. Show up to class. Take serious notes. Know vocab. Read the book. Review masteringbio and notes before exams. For real, study. Come and ask him questions. All examslab quizzes are cumulative. The lab is long but makes class more fun (new microscopes). Review previous labs and lab quizzes before lab quizzesexams.

He expects your to be interested in learning the material because you're here. Maybe you're not going to be a bio major but the point of school is to learn, not to nail prerequisites. Open notes quizzes 90% of your classes you have to read the book (it's actually required).

defiantly take a full semester because his lectures are so interesting and so worth all the other work, hes fun knowledgeable and can answer just about any related question. lots of reading very hard to smash in a small semester unless you have nothing else going on. Professor Moody is overrated. He assigns so much work, it gets to the point where you are rushing to get all of it done without learning the material. He has good intentions, but his class is way harder than it needs to be. Very nice man, very interesting lectures, but if you are taking multiple courses, I don't recommend him.

I signed up for Bio and was really confused with my teacher at first, but he quit and Dr. Moody took over the class and everything was suddenly so clear! We would ask questions throughout the lecture and he was happy to answer each one concisely. I liked his lectures so much I took him for Bio 2. He's the reason I switched my major to Biology.

Dr. Moody is a wonderful professor. Although the HW can be lengthy, you are able to use the HW on the in class quizzes. In addition, you receive extra credit for doing the HW (seriously). The tests can be a little challenging; yet, I passed every one after reviewing the material. He truly cares about students. Participate in class!

Profeesor moody is great, the reading is essential and taking notes is extra credit which you get to use on quizzes, the tests can be a little challenging but as long as you show up and do the notes, you can easily get A's on the tests.

Read the textbook and write thorough reading notes. If you understand ALL pictures and vocabulary (and concepts) throughout the textbook, there's no reason you shouldn't pass this class. STUDY the lab manual for lab AND lecture exams, not mandatory, but the charts are helpful. Reading notes (HW) benefits you 2 times: quizzes and exams.

Do all extra credit. Be prepared for lab and weekly quizzes. Form a STUDY GROUP. Memorize what you need to memorize, and make mnemonics for everything else that comes in lists and such. Go to office hours! Ask questions. Go for the gold.

Core Bio is an extremely difficult class, I probably wouldn't have gotten through it if he wasn't my professor. Considering science majors need this course, he should be your first choice. Be prepared to work. He gives extra credit for book notes, but in reality you wouldn't pass any of the quizzes or tests without the booknotes anyways.

Such a good guy and great personality. Felt like he authentically cares about us. Allows you to use notes you wrote from the reading during quizzes. Also those notes becomes extra credit for the tests. If you read the material, the tests are no surprises.

Professor Moody took over our class midway through the semester due to our professor being called out for health reasons. Despite this he turned our entire class around, his lectures were really in depth and he gave explanations for why things happened not just that they do. If you have the opportunity to take his class I would highly recommend.

I took Professor Moody's Core Bio 1 class. He cares a lot about his students and the class is fairly easy. Just take good notes and study and you'll pass. He grades in a timely manner and is very easy to talk to.

Im someone who has always struggled with science classes so to me this class was one of the most work-heavy Ive ever taken. I had many sleepless nights in this class but the professor is pretty nice, I took it online so I cant say much about his personality but he always answered emails and communicated amazingly when COVID happened.

The semester went like this: take notes on ALL of the chapters listed (he gives extra credit on the test for it, and you can use it as a basis for his lectures), lab on something relating to the chapter, and then on. Very difficult class but Moody is very passionate about this subject and it shows. He also cares for his students and notices when people are missing. He is always willing to help a student out as long as they are reaching out and putting in the effort. Attendance is semi-mandatory as there are in class quizzes but he excuses up to 2!
