ABSOLUTELY, BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER HERE. She was so nice, so helpful. She'll give you test questions right before the exam, and print out notes for you. She's hilarious and really enjoys what she teaches. I suck at science and she helped me get a C+.

Ya, she's a really nice person and terribly friendly, but she goes way off topic and seems to be taking an awful long time to get through the material. Couldn't imagine taking calculus with her.

Will go to the ends of the earth to help you understand, but doesn't teach concepts at all. All teaching is by doing examples, which means you could be screwed for the test if she changes them (but then she'll just give you the answer)

even if you dont have any interest the fashon display she puts on is worth tuition. Very fun. Fore her astronomy she does everything powerpoint. Its kind of hard to attend after a while. Its too easy to get the same grades reading the presentations at home, but 5 stars.

She is great and loves science. All her lectures are on powerpoint and you can get them on the internet, but it helps to go to class b/c she gives stuff away about the tests/exams. Useful to have some physics background for this course, but she really wants you to pass and gives lots of extra help

By far the greatest class I had during the year. Did not need to take notes, helpful if you miss lectures and the tests are a breeze since she tells you exactly what to do and know. Best prof on campus (and after taking enough classes, that says a lot!)

I love Vesna! She explains everything really well, and is more than willing to help her students. You know that there isn't going to be any surprise material on tests. All the notes are on the website to print off. She always jokes about physics concepts, and relates things to real life.

Vesna is one of the nicest profs around. She is super helpful because she genuinely wants her students to do well. However, lectures can be confusing (QUITE confusing), but it's still worth going, both for her hilarious asides and to find out what won't be on the tests. If you review the slides online and do the practice problems you'll be fine.

BEST PROF EVER! Everything is online, there is no need to get the textbook. While it is not necessary to go to class, it's worth it to hear her stories and sense of humour. You can email her whenever to get help and she truly believes that everyone should finish the course having learned something and having a wonderful time. No stress, no worries.

Really an oddball, but loves to teach. Helpful outside of class, but seems... distant? You'll be fine if you get the concepts (often gives out marks even if math is wrong)

If your an arts student looking for an easy science credit look no further, took this as an online course and there was a short reading and a couple of questions once a week... never took more then 20-30 mins. Easy marker and really helpful. Only stupid part was participation marks for discussing topics online, but its better then math or labs

Notes for class are good. Prof expects too much participation.

My favourite professor of my entire degree! Vesna is awesome! She is so willing to help students, and she will tell you exactly what is on the exam. Totally hilarious- ex/she wore a rainbow sweater on Halloween and called herself ROY G BIV (nerdy science joke). Really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Absolutely amazing prof!!!

Took my mandatory science online, and she taught. she was the sweetest lady online, very easy marker (she gave me a much higher mark on an assignment than I know I deserved for example), and she'll go out of her way to accommodate you during assignments and exams. I just didn't like the participation part, especially since it was an online course.

Hilarious! So passionate about her subject, which makes it even better. Great slides; posts them on the internet, but sometimes adds to/tells you to omit things in them during class. She cares about how students do and is easy to contact. Awesome prof; will miss her random, quirky comments and vibrant personality.

Very kind and funny woman. Sometimes hard to understand because of the accent.But she is very understanding and down to earth. She gets that the material is pretty dry and that you do want a social life and she tries her hardest to make it easy for you. She just reads off the slides so if you look over the slides you will do well. Tests are easy.

She is such a great person, she tries to engage the students and keep their intrest. The course itself is horrible, and the textbook is completely useless, but she is always willing to help and give extra practice problems. Her examples in class aren't so clear all the time but one-on-one she's great!

Astronomy. She is an extremely friendly person, although not very organized. Her lectures are often hard to follow, but the textbook is very useful and clarifies every topic. She wants you to do well (will even give up her lunch break to help you). The accent can be difficult sometimes, but generally it isn't a problem.

Extremely unorganized prof with chaotic teaching style, however Always Ready to Help, willing to spend her time explaining again and again. So that overall even though the course is difficult she makes it way easier for her students. Her main objective is that you pass the course. I would definitely recommend taking Intro Physics with her.

She's a genius. But like all genius's she sometimes has trouble explaining her thoughts. Her notes are a little wild but if you attend class and actually take notes as opposed to getting them online you will ace the class. Her tests are very fair but they are increasingly more difficult as the year progresses. She is very very friendly and helpful!

I'm not sure why there are so many bad comments. I had Vesna for physics and astronomy and I couldn't be happier about it. She is by far the nicest professor in the school and she understands the students' stress levels. No, physics is not easy, but it won't be easy with anyone. If you ask to write a test at a later date she'll likely say yes.

I had a horrible history of hating anything science or math related. And she alone helped me to acheive a Physics minor! Something I never would have dreamed of accomplishing prior to taking her classes. I just kept going back for more! Attend class and it'll be a breeze for you. Disorganized and sometimes unclear but very willing to help students.Class is essential as she will let you know exactly what is on the test. Some concepts are better taught than others, so if you are having difficulties be sure to go for help. She is great 1:1. She wants students to do well and is very approachable & accommodating.

My favorite prof by far. Super helpful, loves the material she teaches (or pretends to!) and goes above and beyond for students- even after they've been through her classes. Highly recommended. Also, you better like Big Bang Theory.

Promises things but rarely delivers. Gives bonus marks on a test and tells class that there will be bonus marks on future tests but does not follow through and did not take bonus marks into account at the end. Her stories are wonderful and I really enjoyed them the first time. I would recommend if you want an easy credit without much work.

Super fun class. Not hard. I had no physics background at all but I managed an A plus with less than three hours of studying over the entire course, and I had fun despite loathing the material.

She's great! Take it not only for your science requirement, but also if you have a genuine interest in the subject. She makes things fun and engaging. She has great, easy ways of explaining mind-bending concepts, & has funny personal stories too. Memorize the powerpoints. Its as hard as an intro class can get, which means not that difficult.

I loved Vesna! She made the material interesting because she's so passionate about it. Her jokes help to make lectures interesting. She taught concepts really well and made it easy to learn. I took astronomy with her after this class primarily because I loved her as a teacher. You don't need the textbook. Her study guides are basically the exam.

Very good lectures, i read my textbook but it ended up being a waste of time, although it was amazingly interesting. The course i took with her had an online feature for students who did not go to the class and the entire class was recorded. The power points were to the point and easy to study from.

She's an extremely likable, approachable and is just as funny with her personal stories. I suggest for anybody to take a class with her. She makes things interesting and helps the students when they need it. She makes things easy to understand, and if you don't just go up to her after class or during an appointment. She'll help.

Never in my 4 yrs @ UW have I come across a prof that cares as deeply for her students as Vesna. Goes above and beyond what is required of her position, and so long as students seek out her help which she ALWAYS offers & encourages, there is no reason why any of her students wouldn't succeed. She is brilliant, passionate, and incredibly sweet.

Vesna is a lovely woman who cares a lot about her students, if you try or ask her questions she will help you out. She really empathizes with students and understand how crazy it can be to be taking a bunch of classes + jobs and will make accommodations. However her lectures can be a bit dull at times.

Took BIOL-1005 and PHYS-1701 with her. No assignments, papers, group work, quizzes, projects. Only 4 tests, non-cumulative!!! She tells you exactly what will be on the testsexam, followed by the answer. Pay attention to when she says "I will ask this question on the testexam" and write it down! Got through the class just by studying what i wrote.

One of those classes that you'll either get an A or fail. As long as you make notes of all her little hints about what's going to be on the exam, you'll be fine. Bring a book though, because her lectures can get long-winded and get off the point. She's really passionate about astronomy and you'll get a lot of little factoids from her about it.

Very Easy. Just an awesome prof. The best the U of W has to offer. She genuinely cares how you do and will give extra credit or help if you are struggling. Nicest Human in academics! I typically struggle hard in sciences and currently have an A- in the course half way through. A very large part of this is because she is very nice and helpful. I have never met a prof who wants her students to do as well as Vesna does.

Well, where do I begin? To a science and astronomy lover like myself, I feel extremely fortunate to have professor Milosevic-Zdjelar as my instructor. Not only is she very inspirational but also her lectures are very light-hearted and easy to absorb. Textbook isn't a requirement though. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who read the whole thing

Literally my favourite prof. 4 tests, all multiple choice, textbook completely optional (even though she wrote it!). Gives excellent study guides with practice questions, many of which appear word-for-word on the test. If you approach her, she'll tell you exactly what to study from her powerpoints--and cares about understanding, not memorizing!

She taught the first half of concepts in science and really made the class fun. Lectured in a way similar to High School, lots of videos and demonstrations. When I did come to class I had a good time. Easy to follow lectures and everything is posted online, textbook is unnecessary. Exams all multiple choice.

Vesna is awesome, I took Astronomy my first year and she is still one of my favourite profs three years later. All tests and exams are multiple choice and if you don't know the answer, you can ask her during the exam and she will tell you what to answer!

Prof Vesna is so sweet and also has a sense of humour that makes class more interesting. Lots of in-class videos, making concepts easy to remember. Astro can get a little difficult with foreign vocabulary but the concepts are simply put and the class is an easy A as long as you don't leave studying to the last minute. She lets you know what will be tested. She gave 4 multiple choice exams and helped students answer exam questions. Her goal was to get us to understand ideas, with little memorization. Math not required in this course. All power points and PDFs were available online. She has a great sense of humor and made this class very enjoyable.

An absolutely phenomenal teacher. I have never loved learning more than in her class. I thought I didn't like science until I took her class. She has a masterful understanding of the process of learning and her exams are a breeze, not because they're easy but because you will actually learn everything she teaches.

In my opinion, teaching a large group of people effectively is one of the hardest things to do, and Vesna is one of the very best at it. Her love for her work and her awe of the universe comes across in every lecture she gives. It's hard not to be engaged yourself when listening to someone so knowledgeable and passionate about what she does.

Vesna is the best professor at the UofW!!! She makes Science (not my favourite field) fun and understandable! She constantly makes jokes or analogies that are funny and put the science topic in terms of, for example, dating! Hilarious! She gives very clear explanations and is a total gem.

Shes so kind and very passionate about astronomy. Shes interesting to listen to, but unfortunately she often times discusses subjects that arent part of the specific unit so it gets confusing. Too many slides that dont make sense. Its hard to say what youll be tested on and what shes adding because she wants to.

Dr. Milosevic-Zdjelar's passion and love for Astronomy is contagious, and you'll learn so much from her class. You'll hear stories about her work in the field, or her husband. Final grades are determined by 4 tests that happen throughout the year, but if you pay attention, they're not too bad. Overall, one of my favorite professors I've had so far.

She is an absolute darling. It is very obvious from the way that she explains things that every concept in this class could be... complicated. But the way that she frames them, from the power-points to the lectures, is clear and digestible. She will happily explain things that you don't understand. I highly recommend this class.

I LOVE Vesna. I love space & decided to take astronomy. At the time I was depressed & put in very minimal effort to pass BUT I still went to her classes & loved every one. I took her BIOL1005 class, and she made online classes pretty fun! Although her test questions are tricky and challenging especially if you don’t watch/understand her lectures, she’s an absolutely amazing and generous professor! Everything she has to say is SUPER interesting and my love for astronomy and science grew even more because of her :)

I love Vesna, but this course is insane for a 1000 level intro. Grades based off 4 tests and they are HARD. The class avg. for the 3rd test was 56% but she took off questions so it's 66%. I needed a science course and I heard astro was fun and easy. Great prof but this class is hard af and self taught. Don't take unless ur good @ science & tests.

Vesna is a fantastic professor. She is willing to help you succeed in this course! She will go over tests with you if you want. The lectures were excellent. Tests were quite tricky. Make sure you understand concepts. If I hadn't finished my undergrad, I would take more courses with Vesna! I 100% recommend taking ASTRO1701 with Vesna!

An amazing and hilarious prof! Keeps you engaged with her pre-recorded lectures by breaking it up with excerpts from documentaries and her quirkiness. Understanding of concepts are a must as the test questions are quite tricky. Don't go into this class thinking it's an 'easy A', majority of my class would disagree.

JUST DO IT! although astronomy may seem intimidating, the content is relatively fair. She marks the exact slides that will be questioned on the tests and even gives test question hints in class.

JUST do it!! Astronomy and concepts in science were both amazing. Great way to get science requirements when you are not strong in science. Took both online and my grade was based on open-book tests.

Very funny and caring professor, but despite being funny and caring, lectures tend to be boring. It is mainly lectures and no homework. Tests are not cumulative which means you need to be there for all 4 tests (fall/winter course). No need to attend all classes, all of her lectures are online and are word for word.

Vesna is an amazing prof! She makes lectures interesting, is easily accessible to students, and will spend all the time you need to go over anything that isn't clear. For someone that is so knowledgeable in the field, she does not make you feel bad for having troubles with any part of the material.

Vesna is an awesome professor, she is very clearly passionate about what she teaches and teaches in a way that shows this. Sometimes because of this she gets off topic but regardless her lectures are very interesting. Her exams are moderately difficult and studying is still necessary

Very kind and funny prof! She is super caring and considerate of all her students, even during tests! This class is really hard though if you decide to do it spring term. Studying is definitely necessary since the content is tricky. She does give us lots of practice questions and even gives us test questions hints during lectures :)))

Vesna was the best prof I have had. I took her astronomy class in the spring time and it was very fast paced but her class only required me to study the day before exams, I managed to get an A. She is super entertaining and a great lecturer!

Vesna is an engaging prof who loves astronomy. Her lectures are fun, but the tests can be challenging. Consider using unstuck ai and the class materials to prep well.

Incredibly fun to listen to; even those with limited science savviness will get something out of her lectures. Grade is based entirely on quarterly exams. All info necessary is uploaded online, no need for a textbook, just take notes for the tests. Lenient grader, genuinely wants you to understand concepts, not just memorize terms. Plus no math! :)

Very smart woman with intentions of making sure everyone understands, she does talk a lot but has great notes and will answer any question you need and replies to emails fast

Vesna is incredible. Although her courses are hard to teach, she is very good at it. Her lectures are engaging, with images, videos, and demonstrations to help explain each topic. She makes the room laugh every few mins, and most people who show up regularly genuinely enjoy every class. The course I took had no work except 2 multiple choice exams.

Vesna is the best professor I've ever had. She is sweet, funny, and clearly passionate about the subject. The class was graded entirely off midterms and final exams (very minimal workload), and she always dropped the questions that people did poorly on so it was easy to get really good marks.

I was very nervous about the Physics portion of this course because I am not very good in Physics. However, her real life application of course materials allowed me to get a good grasp on everything in the course. I 100% recommend and would LOVE to take on one of her courses again, even if it's not a requirement.

Vesna is a great teacher, who's very interesting and kind. She marks the slides that test Qs are based on; will literally tell you the answers during tests, and drop Qs many people got wrong. I only used the slides, so can't comment much on lectures, but will speak at length with you on many topics. Easiest Science course for requirement.

Ma'am Vesna is the best, ypu will love this course for sure! she brings a lot of fun examples and pictures to the class to make sure that students will be able to understand everything, She is very helpful and caring. If I could give 100 stars I would!..

Vesna I think is my favorite professor at UofW. She is the kindest funniest and most interesting profs by far. I have taken every class possible with her and have not regrated it one bit. I have taken Astro, Concepts, and Cosmology with her and she makes the difficult criteria digestible and fun. Take her you will be thankful you did!

The best lectures on campus. And the video lectures are great too! Should really teach the other profs how to run a class. Vesna is the gold standard of professors at this university and one that all others should be compared to. No notes.

Vesna is one of those professors that could have the heaviest workloads and I would still take another class with her. She keeps lectures lighthearted and always cracks jokes that make herself laugh. Probably one of the best profs at the University of Winnipeg, and I definitely recommend this class if you require a science.

I'm actually a Prof myself. I took a course of hers for interest. Outstanding. She displays passion and content in equal measure. She uses day to day examples that make Physics concepts real not something to memorize. Definitely Opinionated—but thats good because you can agree or disagree with her social and scientific interpretations.
