one of the greatest teachers I've ever had, but probably the hardest grader I've ever encountered.

Too much home-work

Very challenging teacher, grades hard, but I still enjoyed the class. Be prepared to write a lot of papers.

His English 110 class is very much about philosophy. You read about various fellows like Machiavelli and Lao Tzu, Plato, and other ancient, sometimes hard to comprehend, influentials. His grading is hard, but you can rewrite your papers for a better score. If you get 3.9 or more, you have no final.

Good teacher - hard but reasonable. expect to work for your grade, not unreasonably though. fun class - would take another Aquino class again

Very Challenging. Most think he is hard and therefore a bad teacher. He just wants you to think for yourself. He actually makes you learn. There aren't many teachers out there like that.

He was pretty funny, made some weird comments about Emerson and the 'transpanrent eyeball' that I will never forget. But he was a good teacher and made you learn.

Did not seem like the right teacher to be teaching a women's lit class and it is not because he is a guy. He made it seem like his interpretation was the only right one.

he is such a conventional teacher who likes philosophy and politic much.His class likes a philosophy class.he uses a special book called a world of ideas.he is the most difficult teacher that i have ever had. he is very kind. He is easy to give 4.0. If we do homework,reading,volunteer and do the best on essay. we will get 4.0!

Take this class if you truly love writing and literature. Looking for required credits and an easy 4.0? Find another class! Aquino is a tough cookie, but his class will forever enhance the way you view movies and books.You will see metaphor and deeper meaning as you experience fiction with a new eye. Vic is a wonderful professor. He is very high demanding but if you put in the effort, he will reward you for it. Do not take one of his classes if you want an easy 4.0. His classes are for students who have an interest to learn, not ones who want a nap. I have taken his womens lit and his approach to the bible class, both of which i enjoyed.

Aquino is a very strict teacher, that's probably why a lot of people don't like him. There is a big work load, which gets tedious, but very simple. Just do all your work, read your material carefully and you should do just fine. DO NOT BE LAZY if you decide to take his class. My writing skills improved so much because of him. I had Victor for his Biblical Literature class. He communicates well and involves the class in communication. He has a good command of the issues and expects students to communicate thoughtfully. A fun class and a good teacher.

This teacher is really good. i liked him a lot. he is a teacher who hates lazy people. but if you end up getting a 4.0 at the end of the class, you dont have to take the final. it isnt even all that hard as long as you do your modest amount of reading every day. the only reason i could see people not liking him is if they are lazy in class.

This professor is EXTREMELY good. He knows his material well and teaches it well. The only people who don't like him are those who don't actively pursue the concepts taught in this class and try to improve their writing. I mean, COME ON PEOPLE! This is college! It's a hard class! You're going to have lots of homework! Get over it!

Great teacher, very funny but weird, extremely tough grader but he lets you revise things & get full points back, very interesting class but it seemed like a biblical class. Laughed everyday & my class enjoyed it a lot. :) Aquino's a great teacher! But don't slack off because it's really easy to fall behind...

This was one of the best classes I have taken. Aquino is a very good teacher; however, he treats you like an adult. You ARE expected to do the assignments and show up on time. He did make some biblical references during the quarter, but they realated to teh reading- he would never impose his views on a student. If you get a 4.0, no final exam 4 you

Perhaps the best teacher I've ever had. Certainly the best at GRCC. Knows the material and makes class interesting. He seems hard, but you always have a chance to revise for final grade. Only lazy students do poorly in his class

Great teacher. Interesting class. Do the work and there is NO reason you cannot get an "A". If you read comments from students it's probably from a running start student who should not be in college anyways. True college students and adults have no problem succeeding. I have learned so much. Med school here I come!

He's a great teacher you learn alot from him. He's great and he gives you many chances to redeeme yourself and make your grade higher. Any paper you right he fixes all your mistakes and gives it back with the chance of getting a better grade. If you do all the work you'll be great . He really is a nice teacher

You have homework almost every night, but not too much that you can't handle. You get to redo your paper 2 times, and he usually gives the answer to his quizzes in the discussion. It's not a hard class if you try. It might be more difficult for international students because the book he uses is more profound.

Hard. Do not take if you are lazy period. If you try you will learn lots. He gives you two times to do papers which is very nice. Anyone on here ranting did not try or turn in work on time.

Though I have a 7 AM class with him, he explains what his expectations are for assignments clearly and requires a peer response for every essay assigned. He gives good feedback and is willing to explore concepts more in depth than what the textbook gives.

Great teacher. Lays out his expectations from day one and sticks closely to them. Time consuming class but worth it.

This is a hard class, but not if you participate and do the work. He is very entertaining and does an amazing job of teaching.

Great teacher! Do all the assignments and take advantage of rewrite opportunities and you should do well. Mostly paragraph writing and only a few full length papers. Very energetic, even at 7am!

I dont know why people blast him, he's a great teacher and works with you if you have problems , you get 2 chances to redo your compositions and he piratically tells you how to fix it, a word of warning though, DO NOT SLACK OFF IN HIS CLASS , POINTS ARE EVERYTHING 20 POINT CAN BE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 1.9 AND A 3.5 ..... that is all

He is so awesome, I loved this teacher, I have taken him for eng 101 and now am in the american lit class eng 246. He is easy, straigtforward, and as long as you come to class, DO YOUR HOMEWORK THAT HE ASSIGNS, then your going to be fine. I got 4.0. He works with his students, gives extra credit, he is funny, nice.. and also fun activitys in class

Some teachers give you a good grade regardless of how much effort you put into classes. Obviously he is not the one of them; however, you will learn a lot of things from his class which you need to succeed in college if you work hard. He is one of the best teachers I know. People who complain about teachers here are often slackers. FYI I got 3.5

I took Vic for American Literature. Upon reading others' comments on here I didn't know what to expect, but it proved to me that someone's opinion of a professor is truly relative. I enjoyed his class immensely. Discussion was accommodating and he encouraged a high level of engagement. If you're a slacker looking for an easy 4.0 - look elsewhere.

Fantastic teacher. Gave us daily quizzes on the previous night's reading. I learned many new words during this course and my writing greatly improved. He was kind of a hard ass but was a fantastic teacher. Thanks Vic

I took his Literary approaches to the Bible class in 2011. I would put in about 1 1/2 hours of study right before going to class and ended up with a 4.0. The class is probably not the best class for people really into religion as the view you get when you read the bible for its literary propose is different then when you do it for a religious one.
