Cavalli has just about the worst organization I've seen from a professor. If this class is online, your guaranteed to dread his Moodle page. He is passionate about what he's teaching and actually picks interesting topics for you to write on, but the way he structures his lessons and classes is VERY hard to follow and understand. You've been warned

Be prepared to read his syllabus multiple times. He likes having things done in a specific way, he posts lots of examples on the course site and in his lectures so pay extra attention to those for a good mark. For final papers, he does give very helpful feedback if you email him or go to office hours. READ YOUR SYLLABUS VERY CAREFULLY EARLY ON!

Loved his class. Kind professor and he actually cares about everyone. He gives out an outlined work schedule at the beginning of the semester and he has his way of submitting /homework style but they are quite easy to follow.

Not great at teaching online, but I learned more than from him than other English profs. Lectures were useless, except ones on writing process. Lots of work, but marks easy. Flexible deadlines so procrastinators beware. Read the books because his quizzes are hard. Hated being in class, but definitely learned a lot of important things from Cavalli.

I disliked his class while taking it because the heavy amount of work was expected to be in a specific way. However, I am now so thankful that I had him. I learnt so much, especially about structuring papers, that I am writing better papers in all my other classes. Push through this class because it is so worth it.

Cavalli is a good guy. He assigns a lot of work, but it's mostly drafts, and he'll help you to improve your work. While he can be a bit outdated in his language, he genuinely means well and is inspiring in his teaching. I would recommend his classes to those who are interested in creative writing, as he is very knowledgable about publishing.

Cavalli has a very, very specific format for his essays: if you follow his 20 page outline spread across 6 separate documents for all 12 essay writing steps, you will get an easy A. All assignments due by last day of class. Class time is usually a lecture or explanation of how to complete assignments.

Everything is due on the very last day of class. He has no deadlines which is annoying if you tend to procrastinate. He has very few assignments but is particular with what he is looking wants everything to be super detailed. tells you what's on the exam and it's easy. Make sure to read the books he assigns cause ur final exam is based on the books

An amazing professor. He is very kind and willing to help you with any questions you have regarding the course. However, everything is due at the end of the semester, so if you procrastinate like I did, you will find yourself rushed. They are big projects but Vic provides video lectures and step-by-step instructions to assist you.

DON'T PROCRASTINATE his research essay is worth 32% of your grade and its a HUGE project. A ton of material for a first year class, will not be taking him again, but learned a lot from him and he's kinda legendary. He tries so hard to make everything so clear it ends up super confusing, his Moodle has like 100 links. Overall super sweet and caring

One of the most memorable teachers at TWU. If you are in your first year and need to do an English class, take it with Cavalli. The skills you learn in this class will help you so much in the next four years, and he does such a good job preparing students while also being an iconic prof.

Vic is a great guy but is very hard to understand. The moodle and the syllabus is like a treasure map, so confusing. All his submissions are due at the end of the semester-- which can be a great thing or a bad thing: For me, it is a bad thing. He is very unclear on all the instructions, it is like solving a riddle or an in-depth investigation.

Sweetest man alive, loves Jesus and loves his students. Baller fits, accentuated by his even more baller compression socks and suspenders. However, if you have ADHD or you are good at procrastinating, do NOT take this class because nothing is due until the end of the semester, and the mandatory index cards will pretty much end you.
