Excellent teacher.He knows his math and presents in such a way that if you've been away from algebra for awhile, you can still keep up.His tests are very fair and he offers study periods outside of class.I give him a 10!

Great teacher! He will make you work and learn the math but you will have so much fun learning. This is the one case where working can be fun. He likes for his students to do well. He is open to all kinds of questions.

VERY GOOD MATH TEACHER! I sucked at math in high school, but i got to his class and suddenly i can do it. He is very clear at showing how to do problems, and very helpful, open to all questions. He doesn't make the class boring either, and has good TA's.

Good teacher..4 exams and a final..no attendance taken..quizes once a week..all multiple choice and gives out a practice exam before each exam so you will know what to expect. highly reccomend

Yes math is not my thing but Doctor Vic makes it so much easier to learn. Hi quizzes and tests are easy and he goes over everything with you so your not lost. I totally reccomend him! He is a bit random but thats what makes him interesting.

EASY! Very interesting character he is- very random- you'll think he's a tad bit weird at first but better than alot of other professors! Quizzes once a week but their easy (only 4 questions)- everything he gives (quizzes and exams) are multiple choice. He doesn't check homework nor attendance.

Cifarelli is a great guy. I only went to class on quiz days and still made an A in the class. Quizzes are right off the h/w. The final exam is just like the review he gives out. If anyone did bad in his class its their own fault b/c they did not go to class. He is always willing to explain when you go not understand and he is funny (boring at times

Good ol' Vic. I'm taking him again next semester. He's a nut, he is just so random that it makes you laugh. He's an easy teacher. You might feel like you don't understand but when you get the quiz it somehow makes sense. He's a good guy.

Poor Vic. Got into a bike accident and didn't see him for the rest of the semester. I wish him well..he was a great prof. Easy A if you ask me..just do the homework and the quizzes and you'll be fine!

He really is a good teacher that will make you laugh! He was out for the last 2 weeks of class because of a bike accident. You only have to attend class on the quiz days and if you do the homework the quizzes are easy. The test are short, its an easy A!

This was a great class. Dr. Vic is a great professor and he is willing to help you out when you ask for it. I recommend him for any math class.

He's just a regular guy. Down to earth, does his best to get you to see what is going on. I only had College Algebra with him and it was pretty easy. (Summer Session). His tests were multiple choice and about as easy as you could imagine, I don't know how you couldn't get an A.

Take him for college algebra! Lovely class, made the subject matter clear and interesting- he's funny at times, very helpful, and it's obvious that he loves teaching. Attendance not mandatory, but notices who comes and gave bonus points for being present when attendance dropped. Also, no comprehensive final if you take the course in summer session!

I took him for college algebra! At my old uni I was in Calc but decided to start over again. He made everything seem so clear and simple. Things that had messed me up in calculus all of a sudden made sense to me! He is such a great teacher and makes everythin so easy to understand! I would definately recommend him!

Amazing teacher! I think if anyone hates math this is the teacher to take. I have always struggled in math..and I am making an A. Hes really helpful and he goes at a pace where you can understand it. I LOVED HIM! He is so funny- and class is almost always let out early! If you dont already know college algebra it COULD be a little hard, but he gives quizzes that are graded REALLY easily and the tests are all multiple choice! DEF TAKE HIM! NO WEBWORK!

Im not really a math person but his class was very step by step. u dont have to attend class but he gives quizes every wednesday that you have to be there for. overall if your good in math you dont have to do your home work assignment and still make a great grade on the quizes and test, if not do them and you'll be fine.

Great Teacher, I hate math and I did fairly well in this class. He was extremely helpful, yoou could approach him with hesitation. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but why wouldn't you go? he makes it interesting and he usually let us out early.

Dr. Cifarelli is a great instructor. He is caring about his students. He spent additional time with each student in the class to help with the homework. I enjoy this class, I learned a lot from this class. And he makes everything easy to understand. I would highly recommend this instructor.

WONDERFUL teacher! Best class I have had since I have been in College. I am absolutely horrible in math and I received a high B as my final grade. He is comical and tries to make math as enjoyable as possible. His test are easy and their is always quizzes on Wednesdays that help boost grades. Would definitely recommend him!

I am a freshman and I was worried coming into college because Im not the best at math. This all changed. I did great i his class and he really helped me out alot.

If you know you are not good at algebra, then you might want to reconsider. He is a great teacher but if you have no prior knowledge of algebra or AFM you might not do well. Honestly, people fail his class because they don't show up. Quizzes are open note, tests are easy. Good at math? Take him.

Easy compared to other college algebra classes. Quizzes are open note and tests aren't super hard. Come to class and pay attention and you'll be alright. He's a nice guy.

I'm terrible at math but I got a B in this class. He gives practice tests before the tests and they are very similar to the tests. He gives extra credit. I did go to tutoring though which was very helpful. But I would take a math another math class with this professor.

awesome teacher. doesnt collect homework, only assigned for your own benefit if you do it. quizzes once a week (every other class), only 5 questions long. always multiple choice. if you get the wrong answer but show work you get half credit!!! super easy class! loved it!!!

Great teacher! Hes kind of weird, but in a sweet way. Dont even worry about getting the textbook because we didnt open it once because homework was optional. It will get confusing a times because this class is almost just a big review but the quizzes are open note and the tests are short and multiple choice. Easy A!

Took this class over the summer. Moved quickly and he assigned a lot of homework from the text. Great teacher, loved the methods he used to teach. Posted his course notes online every night. Never took attendance. Easy exams, 10-13 questions each. Would take a class with him again!

If you are focused and attempt to follow along the work will get easier to understand- his teaching technique is clear cut. Wish he were my Statistics prof. Very funny in a highly educated and makes hilarious references that most students didn't really catch. Use the textbook, the secret trick and the edge on the material. The dude rocks math.

He teaches in a weird way like it isn't exactly notes but just working problems out, but gets the point across. It is open note and book quizzes and you can basically use your friend too. Tests aren't the easiest but your friends can help you easily.

Mr. Cifarelli is awesome. Was always willing to help and he does he everything he can to get you the grade you want. I ended up failing my second exam in the class and was still able to make an A, with some hard work. Extra credit assignment at the end of the semester is basically a free 20 points added to your final. Thank you based Cifarelli.

I did well during quizzes but you get to use your notes. Tests are 20 questions and are sometimes difficult. He gives extra credit at the end and adds 20 points to the test grade. Curved final grades, good man.

Cifarelli isn't on campus a lot during the week so it's a little hard to schedule a time to talk. He responds very quickly to all of my emails, which I really appreciate. Overall an excellent teacher but a course that was too fast-paced for my taste. Open note quizzes every week. Study for tests using old exams (questions are directly from those).

Class consist of 3 Test, 11 quizzes, optional homework, and a Final worth 26% of your grade. Lowest quiz gets dropped. Posts notes online. Do HW to understand materials for test and quizzes. Dr. Vic is a great teacher and more than willing to help! Math can be a hard subject for some people but he will help and their is SI also and its free!

This class was definitely the easiest at UNCC but you learn a lot. Homework is not mandatory. He's an amazing teacher so if you go to class and take notes you will easily pass. Weekly quizzes but ask him to use your notes and he'll let you. 3 Test's and a final.

Vic was super nice, great guy. Beware of tests, usually tough to pass and there aren't many of them. Don't bother with the homework, but show up to class. Go to SI if provided, it helps. He can be a bit hard to understand sometimes.

Really good professor. Helpful and he makes his tests from old finals which prepares you for the actual final. Homework is not mandatory but really helps if you do it. You could get away with not buying the book because there's a copy in the library, but I found it useful to have.

Easiest math teacher!! Please take him. He will legit give you the grade you need if you put in the effort. Classes are half the time scheduled and he utilizes the time well to provide proper guidance and to answer questions. He gives worksheets and 3 tests, but all of these help you learn what needs to be learned.

I'm horrible with math, and his teaching style is not for me. He skips steps, and can be confusing and hard to understand personally. BUT, there are so many perks to this class. Never takes attendance, and doesn't take up homework. Puts all notes online at end of class. Is really nice and funny. If you're in any way decent at math, TAKE THIS CLASS.

Great class! Find someone good at math to help explain stuff to you and you won't have to do the hw. Quizzes really help you study for exams. Extra credit is super helpful for your grade + helps you study for the final. Points based class - 3 exams @ 100 points each, 11 quizzes (drops lowest - 10 pts each) final is worth 27% of grade (150 points)

If you remember anything from high school algebra you will ace this class. I loved professor Cifarelli! He doesnt take up homework and all of his quizzes are 5 questions multiple choice, open note. Tests were only 15 questions multiple choice and very straightforward. I only came to class on quiz or test days. WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Vic is a really funny guy and talks about his cat, but he really wants you to succeed, he does assign A LOT of problems for homework, but he doesn't collect them and goes over a couple difficult ones in class. He answers emails super fast even if its at 3 am. I definitely recommend his class for those aren't the best at math.

Dr. Vic was a fantastic teacher. He explains things in an understandable way, and responds to emails fairly quickly. He lets you use notes and the textbook on the quizzes. Homework is heavily encouraged, but not enforced. If you do the homework it'll prepare you for the test. This is the second ever math class I've made an A in.

I wasn't strong in algebra before taking this class. Dr. Vic does a good job of working examples in class then building confidence through open note quizzes. By the time the exam comes you are ready. Many people who didn't show up struggled on the quizzes because they didn't have notes. I can truly say this class gave me confidence for calculus.

If I could take every math class with him I would. The only downside is he teaches only 8ams. If you can get up and be there THEN TAKE HIM. has EASY open note quizzes mostly every class. You can also ask him questions on the test if you need to!

He gives you a syllabus that says when the quizzes are. If you don't go on those days, you won't get the quiz code. If you remember anything from 8th grade, you'll pass. He is HILARIOUS and knows you know most of the material, but gives good lectures anyways.

He is a great person and it is an easy A class with a quiz almost every class;started the class doing homework, but stopped halfway through semester because it wasn't necessary. Final Exam and tests are easy as well. Also cancels class a ton, so that is a plus. Only problem is the lectures aren't beneficial, you probably know most of the material.

Hilarious guy who will do anything to help you succeed. Quizzes are often, but very easy. There are three tests and one exam that are weighted heavily though. Textbook is only needed for OPTIONAL homework- you can get by without it just fine. Although he's entertaining, lectures are messy and hard to follow especially near the end of the semester.

Dr. Vic is amazing and I would 100% take the class again. I will say I was good at algebra before this class, so paying attention to his lecture was not a necessity for me. However, if I was not good at math his lectures would be somewhat difficult to follow. He does have office hours where you can talk to him about any issues in understanding.

Prof. Cifarelli is great, he is super passionate about being a teacher. He gives good feedback. If you go to class you will pass. You have abt 10 question homework assignment almost every week but he helps guide you in class. There are also two projects that are easy. The class really focuses on students obvi because its a class abt teaching MS

Easily one of the best math professors I've had. I was never one to care about math, but Dr. Cifarelli really cared about me and how I was doing in the class. He is very sweet man and pays a lot of attention to detail and how he treats his class. So many more things I could say about him. Would take him again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Cifarelli is an excellent professor who genuinely cares about his students. The class is manageable with the free textbook, and using resources like unstuckstudy can give an extra boost for exam prep.

Professor Cifarelli was honestly awesome. I had a MWF class at 8am and at first he made fridays online, and then just started sending out videos asynchronously. Theres three tests and a bunch of homework, but every 1101 class has it. I would take him again if I had the chance. He also does attendance on poll everywhere.

Dr. Vic adds humor to all of his lectures and it definitely makes them easier to understand. He will answer any question and is very accessible outside of class. If you have him MWF, Fridays are always asynchronous which is nice.
