VIc is awesome! If you do not understand, he is very welcoming to your to questions. I did not like asking questions, but he made me feel comfortable doing so. He's also very cool if you need to make up an exam. Do not take advantage of him, he's way too cool for that.

The class is difficult because German is a very difficult language but he makes it as easy as a subject like this can be. He will work with you if you don't understand. He spent a lot of time on subjects that didn't really matter in terms of learning the German language. Such as old style Medieval German handwriting, German-Turkish Music/films and other topics that detracted from actually learning to speak, read and write German. You could take his class as independent study with the amount of attention he gives.

Victor Fusilero is an amazing Professor. He loves this language and wants to share all his knowledge with all of his students. I have been with him from German 1, 2, as well as 185. I also plan on continuing all German classes because he is such an excellent teacher.

Victor is astounding with a vast amount of knowledge about the German language. He gives a lot of info about German culture which only enhances the learning experience. He's always there to help out with any problems and although German is exceedingly difficult, he makes it fun! Anyone who complains about Professor Victor doesn't try very hard.

Phenomenal Professor !!! As a non-native speaker of German he understands the complexities the language brings. With that said, he gives an incredible amount of extra credit, make up tests, and work with you one on one if you are interested in raising your grade. Opportunities to use the language in class are immense. I've taken him for 3+ classes

I had Vic for German I & 2, and I am taking him now for German Literature?he is the greatest professor I ever had at any institution. When I had a question, he was always very helpful in clarifying and making the answer simple for me to understand. He is there for your success.

Vic is incredibly thorough in both his preparation for each class as well as his instruction. He meets students where they are, and then raises them up to a higher level. His enthusiasm for German is contagious and makes each class a joy to be in.

Super-clear explanations of difficult grammar. I've seen two other professors explain German word-order, and neither even came close to being as clear and easy-to-understand as the way Vic explained it!!

Wasn't sure if I would like being taught German by an American-born Filipino, but I wouldn't want to learn this language from anyone else. Dr. Vic has an amazing command of the German languauge and can do language comparisons for nearly anyone in the class (students from more than 10 countries). His passion for teaching is rare and a true gift.

Extremely capable professor. He speaks several languages and he even bothers to compare German to Spanish where he can, to help the Spanish speakers in the class. He offers extra credit movie nights, and his tests are always easier than he makes them sound! You will fall behind if you miss class, though. German is a very challenging language.

Granted, this is part of my first year in college. But, he's such an amazing teacher. He takes the time to make you laugh, enabling you to feel comfortable with making mistakes. I could write literally pages about this professor. My advice it to enroll in the class even just for fun, I guarantee you will not regret it one bit! :D

Dr. Fusilero, is an extremely gifted educator. Always very clear on what he teaches, you can expect to quickly catch on to whatever he teaches. Do plan to work hard in his class and attend everyday;but,know at the end of Deutsch, you will be rewarded with the knowledge of another language. Have fun!!!!

I have taken German 2-3 with Dr. Vic, but I wish I had taken German 1 with him as well! Dr. Vic is an extremely gifted professor whose enthusiasm for the language translates to all his students. Dr. Vic doesn't just teach German as a language; he teaches it as a gateway to another culture full of richness and beauty. He is a gem at Valley College!

If not for his amazing personality, his easy-going nature, his sincere dedication, and his bubbly sense of humor, I wouldn't travel 45 minutes across the valley to get to his class. Mr. Vic LOVES to teach and it shows in his teaching style. His class is engaging and his activities are fun. He may not be German, but he teaches German better native Germans. The class was super easy, and tests are easy. (It would be an even better class if the class was a bit more challenging.)

A tough professor no doubt. You'll have to put in some effort, at least 2-5hr study before test. There's something very sweet and genuine about Vic. Extremely easy going, and helpful, you'll fall in love with him. Foreign language is extremely tough for me, and he definitely made it bearable. Voted best professor at valley for a reason!

Dr. Vic is well versed in philosophy as well as his field of teaching-German- in the LAVC.My experience in the independent study course, which discussed Kant's Grundlegung was Super. I STRONGLY recommend him for professorship in the philosophy department as well. I certainly take with him any courses he teaches there. Thank you Dr. Vic

He assigns homework almost everyday and you must get them done to get an A, but the good part is that you can turn it in late, just not too late. I had a blast in his class and learned so much!

Dr. Fusilero is an amazing professor. He shows interest in his students and encourages them to come to office hours any time they need help. German is the hardest course that I ever took (microbiology and chemistry were way easier), and he actually helped me to learn some! I'm planning on taking German 2 with him in the fall.

Wonderful professor who takes a daunting subject and makes it accessible and achievable to any student who puts in the effort. After this class I enrolled in 3 more German classes with this professor. He is the type of professor who would succeed at teaching any subject because he knows how to teach so well. AMAZING TEACHER! He uses several different methods from an online game show and fun activities as vocab review. Online homework is required but you get several tries to correct it before final submission. Very humorous and relaxed. 10/10 definitely recommend

Dr. Vic's awesome! If you have to take a language for your major - take his classes. He helps students and takes time to answer their questions. You will read, write, and speak in German. His tests can be tough but they're fair. Plus he gives away a lot of extra credit for going to cultural events. He's nice & tries tries to make it fun!

Expect writing two short essays in german and expect the test to be hard. No worries for there is a lot of opportunities to do extra credit. Textbook is required and if you need help visit his office hours. Finals are oral and written test. Homework is online and expect a lot of it. Lastly, he's a great professor to have.

This professor is incredible! He makes learning very fun and is also very patient. Don't be shy if you need any kind of help. He is always willing to answer questions after class, and in his office during office hours. He is willing to give a helping hand to make sure you understand the class criteria. Dr. Fusilero is great, super chill, and is understanding that his students have lives and work outside of his class. That isn't to say getting a good grade will be easy, but he's very eager to help in any way he can and finds a way to balance state standards while still making sure you learn this as a practical life skill.

German is difficult, but Dr. Vic is a phenomenal teacher. Always attend class and do the homework on time because his tests REALLY require you to know the material. He's always around to answer questions, provides you with great grammar handouts for every unit, and tailors lectures to help the class really understand. Fantastic class and professor!

Dr. Vic is simply a master of explaining confusing grammatical rules so that they make sense and are easy to remember. His in-class exercises and readings also helped me to start "thinking" in German, and his lectures are fun and interesting. Not an easy "A" - you have to study, but you will be happy with the results if you are a serious student.

Dr. Vic doesn't need another rave review, but I've taken his classes for 1.5 years and I have to tell the world how wonderful he is. So here it goes: Okay world, he's pretty darn wonderful. He's got this whole 'teaching' thing down to an art. He's a good man, a great teacher, and he wears Lederhosen on special occasions. Need I say more?

He is the most wonderful professor this school can give. Not only he cares for his students, he is there when you need him. He is a like a caring mother or father. But don't play your luck, you must work hard, pay attention and attend class all the time, in order to do excellent. You must also dedicate time studying in your free times to do well.

Really helpful and interesting. Tells and retells his experience as a non-native speaker in Germany, really useful advice. Will explain even the most basic mistakes so that you don't feel bad but actually understand. Sometimes does the homework in class to help people w/o access, and play videos 2x. Could use more class time helping with vocab.

Herr Professor Vic's German classes are fun and thorough. Language can be difficult, but Herr Professor doesn't flood the first time learner, his lectures and notes are tailored to be as painless as possible, however, it is important to not take his class lightly as course progresses quickly into more advanced lessons.

Took german 1, 2, and 3 with Dr. Vic and i must say all three classes were great. This is truly a great professor. However, german is not an easy language to learn, so expect to work hard.

I am an older student who, after a 30 year hiatus from college, toggled with the idea of going back to further my education. Herr Dr Vics German classes were my litmus test, my test run. He not only inspired me to continue studying, but lit the fire for me to potentially teach and, like him, spread the joy of learning. Hes a rock star!

Vic is an extremely conscientious & thorough teacher; his passion for Germ language & culture is inspiring! Tests r challenging, but always gives students a 2nd chance 2 improve their scores. My 3rd class with Dr. Vic, and as usual he was fun and engaging. This level is even better because he goes into depth about German culture and social issues, which motivated me to keep learning. Short essays and a group presentation assigned. Challenging stuff but hes supportive and helps students succeed. Amazing professor and genuinely nice guy.

One of the most understanding and caring professors in any subject. He is dedicated to teaching the concepts in the grammar. The homework covers the core parts of the class difficulty level and are reflected on the tests. Not a difficult class. Lots of memorization, but what class does not require that? If you want to learn German, his class is it.

I took this course as a refresher. The class is a lot of fun. You do need to be present for the online classes, and he records the classes if you miss it. He supplied the textbook and it is easy to follow. Dr. Vic is great, and he is there for you every step of the way, and gives the guidance you need to succeed and learn this hard language.

I learned so much in this class! He always explains the grammar rules in English, which is super helpful because German is hard enough. I enjoyed his anecdotes and can't wait to take another class! Danke schoen, Dr. Vic :)

Dr. Fusilero is an outstanding, well organized, respected professor who has designed an astonishing amount of relevant, high quality material and cares deeply about student success. I appreciate the well managed class sessions, with his first-rate technical skills on Zoom so there is no loss of quality due to not being in an actual classroom.

Good at explaining and very patient with questions. Creates a fun, interactive class environment. I feel like it works better in person, but unfortunately due to a few factors outside his control, his classes beyond german 1 are online. But being online doesn't mean not interacting with the other students. You will meet them too.
