Professor strives to be fair and caring

Quite a bit of work. Exams weren't really representative of material in class, but whose exam ever is? Overall good class, I took it online.

This instructor works hard and desires to be helpful.

Mrs. Brooks was a great teacher. Alot of work but everything was outlined for you. She really helped me out in the end!!

Course expectations were very clear.

Took online coure. She is very detailed, and very engaged in DQs. The midterm and finals were very long and the questions were over some useless information. Made a B in the class.

Professor is very involved in the students discussions. She will help if needed, and she is quick to respond to emails. The course material is expensive for online course. The assignments on MyIt lab are easy, the Mid Term and Final are over information right out of the text book, which is the only time you really open the book. Great Class.

Professor Brooks was extremely helpful throughout this online class. She set high standards and offered help to those students that needed it in order to attain them. Genuine care for students; I was able to contact her a year later to utilize her assistance for my future endeavors.

The bad news: there are a lot of assignments that take a lot of time. Don't take this with another time intensive class. The good news: if you come to class and do the assignments, she wants her students to succeed and gives good grades.

I took the online section of Intro to Computer. I found the course to be very challenging and instructive, and introduces you to the various computer software used in today's work force. The instructor is very helpful and the material well thought out. You will learn a lot in these 8 weeks.

I just completed this course online and was pleased with the information and the discussions that we were tasked with. I found that Mrs. Brooks was extremely helpful with answering questions. She worked with me while I had a large project at work and was understanding of my situation. I would recommend her to anyone!

Vickie Brooks is an exceptional Professor! Incredibly professional, yet communicates very well with all of her students.She expcts each student to engage in class discussion,which was very important for me.I knew very little about computers & learned much more than I ever expected. This was my first on-line class, I was impressed!

Vicki Brooks is very involved in class discussions with great, specific feedback. She is very timely with grades and email responses. She is always willing to help with ANYTHING and the activities, discussions and exams really push you to do your best. She is a wonderful professor and I wish more were like her!

Awesome teacher! As long as you do the assigned work, it's a breeze. I always got 100's on the discussions because she pushed us to do our best & always gave opportunities to improve our grade. She is super quick to grade & helpful all around. Take her! I got an A & I was computer illiterate before the course. Just study the study guide for exams!

I enjoyed CISS170E this semester, the students were respectful and Professor Brooks was not just professional but friendly and extremely helpful. She kept everyone informed of their grades, ways to improve their grade, provided assistance when problems occur, and responded promptly to all emails.

Great professor! Class was great and easy to follow. She gives you a chance to bring up a bad grade, MyITLab was very easy to use once setup. Quizzes were a great source to help study for midterm and final exam. Definitely enjoyed this class. Hoping I can take another one of her classes soon.

This instructor is great! Our class was very interactive. There were some occasions she had to stop the conversation because the next class was due in. Time flew by in the class. Attendance is a must!! Interact with class to get full enjoyment. Would recommend this instructor!

I found this class to be very easy. If you read the assign books, and take the practice quizzes, you will pass this class with flying colors. I found Mrs. Brooks to be a nice professor, but I didn't like how she graded the discussions responses. She requires them to be very specific, and will take a few points off, if they are not.

Enjoyed this class because of this teacher! It's important as for any class to attend class, read the book, and complete assignments. If you are able to do these you should do well in the class! She is a respectable teacher who cares for her students! Highly recommend this class and this teacher!

She is a great instructor. Wants everyone to succeed and will help you do that. It was not all about facebook we covered alot of useful topics. Don't miss any classes and study what is on the study guide and it's what is on the test. Highly reccommend her.

I absolutely loved Vicki Brooks. Always available for extra help Response time to emails and discussions were very prompt. Prompt grading and feedback. However, she grades discussions down to the T. But she responds with feedback that she wants, and gives you the opportunity to earn those few extra points. Highly recommend

Fantastic teacher. Vicki knows her stuff and is great about immediate feedback. She expects you to take a more hands on approach to learning and to actually read your textbook. Tests are tough, but I attribute that more to the type of material rather than the teacher. She's fun and upbeat. I would take a class of her's again in a heartbeat!

Mrs. Brooks is a wonderful professor. This course is tough but she gives you ample opportunities to improve your grade. She is very clear and concise about what she expects and as long as you deliver, you will do well. She gives immediate feedback that allows you to improve your grade. LOVED having her, I wish all the professors were so involved.

Professor Brooks is one of the best professors I have had the privilege to learn from. Down to earth, a real person not someone with an overinflated ego as some professor have. A lot of energy, keeps the class very interesting. Does not tolerate people who are disruptive or the ones who try to cheat. A+++

Mrs. Brooks is a helpful professor, that is there to make computers easier for ANY person. She is short, sweet, and to the point! Class is also very enjoyable with her silliness!

Professor Brooks was one of the most patient and helpful instructors I have ever had. Her discussion assignments were designed to inspire interaction, and they did. Tests were tough but fair; assignments were challenging and structured to have us really learn the material. She was quick with grade posting and asking us every day if we needed help.

Great teacher very friendly and open, allowed me extra time with the very first assignments because something happened in the very first week of class in my personal life. Only two test final and midterm which she gave very helpful study guides for. Would definitely take her again.

The class is manageable as long as you stay up to date on your reading. Midterm and Final are difficult, you definitely need to study for them. However, Mrs. Brooks provided excellent study guides for both. She was very involved in our discussion board posts and provided additional help and links to outside sources. The class is extremely time consuming, NOT MAC COMPATIBLE, course material is expensive and the lab grading system is questionable. I found the class really challenging & learned a lot from it. Ms. Brooks expects her students to participate and work hard. She has a real straight forward no-nonsense teaching style. But she is understanding, extremely fair, and a pretty fun lady.

I thought this was a great class. I have used MS Office for years and took this class as a prereq for another class. I was surprised at how much I learned from the exercises. The book reading is pretty easy if you have any idea about computers. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Ms. Brooks is a very nice teacher. Her class is pretty hard. You have to learn and complete all the works to earn the credit. She responds to email very fast. If you need help on the homework, she is always there to help you out.

The material on the midterm and final comes from your textbook, so make SURE you're ready to read and take notes from the book.

Ms. Brooks is an excellent teacher. Seasoned computer users will need to study the text and the lab assignments. There is a lot of material covered in a short amount of time, but Ms. Brooks is available to clarify the subject matter. If you study and keep up with the material, you will be able to do well in this course.

This is the teacher and course you want to enroll in as you embark on your real augmented reality voyage into the future. I learned so much and gained new levels of confidence reading computer descriptions as well as understanding what those descriptions described! Excellent labs for learning and practicing Office. I LOVE Vicki. She is by far the best teacher I've ever had. She's super helpful and flexible. Her class is a breeze as long as you participate a little bit. There are some presentations but she lets you cover whatever topic interests you. Highly Recommend!

Mrs Brooks is an excellent professor. Extremely interactive and informative on the discussion posts. Although an online course, she comes across as a very nice person which made a difference to me anyway. There is a lot of material to know so do not think it is an "easy" course, but it is manageable.

Quizzes every week (help me retain information). A lot of reading. She was quick to help with any questions I had.

The computer class was required for my degree, and Prof. Brooks made the class enjoyable and fun to complete. There are 3 computer assignments, one discussion post, and one quiz per week. There is a midterm and final exam, but they're relatively easy. All questions can be found on Quizlet, which makes studying super easy.

Ms. Brooks was awesome. She cares for her students and wants ya to succeed. She graded quickly and was honest. She was also always willing to work with me and understanding. The final icing on the cake was shes from the great state of Ohio.

Vicki Brooks is only my third instructor at Columbia College but definitely my favorite. She was extremely helpful throughout the whole course and always very concise but kind when help was needed. I was hesitant about Introduction to Business Analytics at first, however Vicki made it an enjoyable class that I learned from.

Took her online class for Business Analytics. She does a great job at providing good feedback to all of her students and makes the discussions worth participating in. I definitely recommend her for any of the classes she takes, but definitely Business Analytics.

I took an online class with Professor Brooks which makes communication more difficult. However, she was engaged with discussion posts, leaving good comments and attaching links to extra information. When I emailed questions, I received a response within hours so I never felt like I was left on my own. Great instructor!

Final exam is proctored. Two case projects due. Practical mathlabs every week along with discussion. Easy grader but definitely make sure you respond on discussion questions!

This course is not complete but professor Brooks is very accommodating. She understands that we all are doing our best to keep up with our daily lives and the quarter system that we are enrolled in. I enjoy that she can be transparent and give real feedback on what she observes in our assignments given. She is true, honest, and amazing. Thank You.

Professor Brooks is a subject matter expert and understands that we as students are learning and thus, she provides excellent feedback. She also offers many different ways to give one on one help if you are struggling with a topic.

Vicki is a great professor that will allow you to get your feet wet in the analytics region if you do not have a lot of experience. Professor Brooks, to me, is the definition of a college professor. The assignments reflect the lectures and assignments, she is engaging with us in discussions, emails are responded to timely (considering they may be busy), and grades are also posted quickly (also considering they have many other courses and students).

You do a lot of discussion post but their pretty easy and she's easy to work with.
