Garringer is a great teacher. Very patient and understanding. Actaully wants you to pass math...so does not combine a lot of huge numbers. Makes the tests easy and gives extra credit. Highly recommended

Never have I met a nicer and easier to understand professor! She explains everything so well, and treats us like she really cares about us. I struggled with math in the past and she really has the patience of a saint! I finally like math!

her class was a piece of cake, i got 97% in her class before final, she gave partial credit all the time, and u may ask her a lot of question during the test or quizz, definitely helpful, and she gives office hr, even she is a part time teacher; however, i got a "F" in the final, but i still got a high "B" at the end, see, take her!

Good teacher. I do not agree wth the other comments about the final. I got a higer percent (92%) on the final and I was only earning a 90% in the class. Her tests were harder than the final, but still easy for me. I am a studier tho. You must do your homework cause she collects it. It helped me cause it counted for part of our grade.

This is the second time taking this class and I finally passed with a C. Mrs. G offers the best, most clear explanations. She makes math very easy to learn. She did collect homework, and her tests were fair. But, you have to do the homework because her tests were just like the homework. You cannot miss class.

She is really good, but you better get used to hearing "Danger Zone" if you have a B or lower haha

I would definitely recommend Mrs. Garringer. She does talk about "the danger zone" but that was if you was getting a C. I wish I would known that the other two times I took this class. The final is very hard. She explains math very clearly. She is easy to understand, but one complaint, does not allow makeups, but can drop a test.

Vicki Garringer makes math so easy to understand. She really knows how to explain the material. My other 2 teachers always made it seem so complicated and could not explain the material well at all. She also smiles which my other 2 teachers never did. I also felt like I could ask questions and not feel stupid.

If you suck at math, take her class. She tries to explain mathematical concepts as simple as possible and often goes out of her way to ensure her students succeed, much more so than many other instructors. Homework is collected randomly. She also offers many extra credit opportunities, so it's impossible to fail.

She is a really good teacher, she explains everything like you are learning it for the first time, which is good if you don't know it but bad if you already do. She actually cares about you, will start getting on your case if u miss class, and will drop you if you miss class all week but she is an awesome teacher!

math 0481 is a drag but its something you have to get through. if your someone like me who struggles with math, she is the teacher for you. you have to seek her out for help but she gives you all the opportunities... she is very personal and really wants her students to succeed. highly reccomend this girl.

Class will start of slow. however, she speeds it up a lot by the 4th chapter. expects you to know by then what you are doing. can be helpful at times but,at times seems to not care.she will break down the material which is good for those who struggle in math. Is not that flexiable.

If you hate and stink at math take Mrs. Garringer. She is very helpful. She gives you notes for every section already printed out. She goes slow in explaning material so everybody gets it. If you do good on the worksheets you should be fine which are not graded. I didn't have book whole year and passed with an A, though HW is graded

Mrs. Garringer is a very good teacher. The only reason I've struggled is because summer courses are very fast-paced. She offers a ton of help and many assignments for grades, which is helpful if you don't do well on tests. She grades one homework section a week and occasionally offers extra credit. Definitely consider Mrs. G!

She is one of those teachers that truly does care for the students, but 3/4 of her class time are lectures on how to become a better student/person, and the rest of the time-she crams the days lesson into your head and expects you to meet with her after class for more help. If your unable to meet after class for help, I suggest a different teacher.

I first took 0481 with Vicki and she made everything crystal clear. She makes notes for you with problems for you to fill out, which are really helpful. If you envision doing math beyond the zero level maths, take Garringer, she will do everything in her power to help get you of the zero level courses, though you do need to do your part, do your homework, and attend class. Professor Vickis methods of teaching is like no other professors at COD, any high schools or other colleges, that is why her class is so successful. She may seem a bit simple, but believe me, it is good to get the concepts, and she is soo good with that. Take her, with no regrets and worry. I have taken Math 0481 twice with her and I finally passed. I have also taken Math 0482 twice with her as well. The reason for this is because she is a great teacher. I felt that she could read me very well in my weaknesses and strengths. I ended up both getting a B+ in 0481 and a B in 0482. I never thought I could accomplish it finally.

Honestly, one of the best math teachers ever. She really cares about your grades. She will understand if you have other classes that are tough, but still wants you to accomplish a good grade. She has funny jokes and is so nice. I never regretted taking her.

OMG, this teacher was amazing, and my brother is taking her next semester. This was such an easy class, but I never missed class and I do my homework everyday. Garringer is one of the best Math profs I've had at COD. She is clear cut, and she is willing to help students out. If you're not doing well in the class, she will come to you. She's a part-time professor, but she goes above and beyond what any full timer would do. I ended up with a B in this class, but a lot had to do with me. Put the effort in!!!

I am in Math 0481 right now and this teacher explains material SOOOOOO WELLL. This class does go at a slow pace which is very helpful 4 me cause I need everything explained very slowly. She goes over topics alot. I doin well right now. She is animated and not boring at all.

Prof. Garringer is very helpful. You have to show up for class, no tardies. You have to do your homework. Yes there are quiz's and exams, but if you do your homework you will pass the quiz's and exams. Is very very helpful, will go out of her way to make sure you understand math. Just don't wait till the last minute to get help.

So far the best math teacher I have had in a long time. I took time off math because i was never good and it just seemed like I would never learn. It is a 5 credit course so I spent a lot of time on homework but I really learned my math this time. She offered help after class all the time and had a great way of explaining the material so I understood.
