has a weird personality, talks to u as if ur in kindegarden...unorganized, not a good planner for the course...tests are extremely difficult, and not much time to complete them...assigns huge amounts of homework....seems to have attitude from time to time
has a weird personality, doesnt explaint things well enough, very rude and will put you down, uncompassinate and not understanding what so ever, has very abrupt mood swings, from time to time
She is out there. Can never remember what she is doing. Her test never match the homework or the problems she does in class.
She was very sweet and always helpful. Really wanted you to get math.
Algebra is a difficult class all together, but she was one of the best algebra teacher I have had. She was alot more easy going too.
Algebra is difficult course. Amount of homework too much but gives credit for homework completed. Lecture clear and available for help during office hours. Tests difficult.
I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Norwich. Yes, the content was difficult at times, but when the tests came around, I felt I was prepared to take them. She was always a smiling face in the morning, and constantly willing to answer everything!
Not a bad teacher
she goes fast and does not show concern for her student. her mession seems to just get through the material fast. she seems nice. but I can tell she has atitude problems from time to time. she not very understanding.
Took as a summer course. Passive aggressive. Crams everything in just to meet deadline. Available for extra help. Does go fast, irritable if you dont keep up with the rest of the class. Tests EXTRELMY hard, wants students to know EVERYTHING.
went out of her way to help me pass the class. Great teacher!
she is a very nice teacher who will have no problem going out of here way to help you on your problems during class or after. she has a good personality and all in all a good math techer with an axcent. yall should take her now ya hear
She was a fair teacher and explained things well. She was always willing to go over something that you didn't understand in class. I have already recommended her highly to other students. Don't take her, though, if you want an easy teacher with no work.
She is a great professor for those students who are willing to put in a lot of time in doing all the homework she assigns. She is extremely helpful and understand, and always has time to explain any problems.
I had her for the summer and hated it. I thought it was too rushed and she was very stand-offish to me. She practicly walked around to every other student and offered help to them and did not mention a word to me. I plan to take another math Tch'r for Algebra
She Is a great teacher. You can get up to a 106% on ever test. She explains everything very well and will go out of her way to help you out side of the class room.
only math class i passed. she's really good and explains things well to math dummies like me.
Norwich was a very good teacher. She didn't go too fast on anything (except for at the end when we were running out of time) and she made sure you understood everything without moving on. As long as you do your homework and know the material you'll do fine in the class.
Extremely difficult. Tests vary widely from the way class problems and homework are presented. Knows her material well. Would be great for math majors but if you aren't one, she moves way too fast.
she is nice lady but Skip a lot of sections. push too hart toward to the end. test is not easy, and you need study hart because she forget some of the questions never teach and still test it. above all class was OK.I just do like she skip too much sections because it will affect student go on the the next level.
I thought she was extremely helpful and did NOT rush things at all! As long as you do your work when you need to you'll stay on track and finish with no problems. She is always willing to help and knows her stuff. Don't slack off or you'll regret it and then it will be hard. And go to all classes
I took her for int. algebra cause i was stuck in the prep math stuff... Honestly shes not that good, i thought. You really had to work hard, doing the hw. I had a tutor too and barely managed a B. Depends on the student you are, im bad at math and hated her teaching. if You pass, take Richard PIVA for college algebra.YOU will see like night in day
Mrs. Norwich is a wonderful techer. I took her for both intro to algebra and intermediate algebra. She is very helpful and clear at explaining when you tell her what you dont understand. She has a great personality which also makes coming to her class great. She gives out alot out bonus hw and uses small #s on tests which helps your test score.
great teacher... never strays from helping you. if you do the HW you get 6 bonus pts. added to your test. if your nervous about math, take her she is wonderful!
I really liked mrs. norwich. I had her for intermediate algebra and college algebra. She explained the math really clearly and gave a lot of bonus points on the tests for doing the homework. I'm really horrible at math and had no trouble understanding it in her class.
She's a very nice woman and she's very helpful. Unfortunatly, I decided I didn't have to pay attention, and had to drop it. I'll have to take it again next semester, but I've deffinatly learned my lesson. She's very, very nice and the class is pretty darn easy if you can keep up with her.
Very helpful and accommodating. If you need help she is there for you. If you need special arrangements (test anxiety) she will help. If you have any fears about math, she is the professor you want. Great teacher. Recommend highly! Does problems step by step.
never in class. very undependable. i almost failed her class because her never being their. she was absent half the term.
She was out due to surgery (foot) & that's why she didnt return. It's not like she abandoned us! I was upset that she didn't return, but that didn't stop me from learning. True, Wakim took over & boy, he was awful, but**** happens. Mrs. Norwich was a wonderful teacher. I give her 2 thumbs up! She goes above & beyond to help you.
Great teacher! I had her for College algebra my very first semester and passed the class with a B. It was a computer course in the Math Lab but, she was always there to help you and she was very patient and nice! If you need College Algebra, take her!
Good professor and finds ways for students to understand concepts. But easily becomes ill and has health issues. Almost failed the class because she wasn't there half of the semester.
Amazing math teacher. Mrs. Norwich would not continue to a different subject until she was certain that the entire class had a clear understanding of the material. She was very sweet and understanding, and always ready to help. I would absolutely take her again!
this class was pretty easy i took the computer lab one so basically the software teaches you but if you need help she was really nice and let me get away with missing a lot of class i liked her i got a B w/o really trying
I thought this teachers was unorganized. Her lessons were scattered all over the board and she rushed through each section. She was a nice professor but i hated this class. Her "study guides" had mistakes so you were studying wrong material and her grading system was a joke.
Took her for College Algebra. Easy class for Math lovers. I got an easy A. If you're not good at math, do not take her. She doesn't explain things that well and you have to do a lot of homework to get good grades on the tests. Very nice lady though. Very helpful
I've always had good grades in Math, and was always ahead in high school. But being out of algebra for a couple years, I needed a good teacher. Ms. Norwich doesn't know how to explain the difficult part of lessons. She takes all class doing example over example of the easy step of problems, then when it gets to the hard part, we run out of time.
She is a wonderful teacher! In fact I liked her so much that I am taking her again next semester for her combined course on Trig and Pre Cal.
I took precalculus/trig with her online and it was a MISTAKE! VERY difficult class. You have to do a lot of homework for almost no credit (worth like 8% of your grade) and DONT fall behind! Tests were much too difficult.
Overall a wonderful teacher! Made sure we were well prepared for all exams. Practice quizzes were identical to the tests and you are given unlimited opportunities to take quizzes prior to exams. Pre-clac/Trig is a lot of work.....but if you are prepared to work, she is the professor to take.
For the college algebra class, she gave us too much work. We had too do online work, and the h.w. from the book. Her jokes were very corny and sometimes not funny at all. She is a nice person, but not a good teacher. Not recomended.
DON'T TAKE HER CLASS, She is rude to her students. She has problems with simple math. She does not work out a single problem. She is unprepared for class. STAY CLEAR! RUN!! She needs to work with prison inmates.
Indeed she is a nice lady, but there is too much work required in her class. Not everyone has time to do all the hmrk problems from the book and these days ppl prefer to do most of their work online. She doesn't do anywork on Angel or Mathxl. Her tests are difficult. She gives out quizzes often and collects homework. Too much paper trail.
She is a definite must avoid. Total nightmare in building 7. Her tests are so difficult. There are no study guides given. You have to learn everything on your own. Truly a horrendous teaching style. I studied so much for the first test and ended up with a "C". I regret taking her class.
Class is so boring. Tests are very difficult, no scantron you have to show all your work on tests. There aren't study guides given. Too much homework. She will only get 1 or 2 homework for extra points but its useless doing so much homework when she collects 1 or 2.
Run, don't dream of taking her. I never had a problem myself but I was disgusted by her rudeness to some of her students. If you stand up to leave her class, regardless of reason, she will chastise you. Don't forget to pee before class! She does not always explain clearly and does not like to slow down and explain again. Like I said, Run from her.
She is a nice teacher, you can communicate with her in many ways, she gives you reasonable homework, she solves it for you in class, she gives you practices before a test, her test is detailed but she considers points if your work is ok and the final is with scantron. Her method is good for students that really want to lern and get an A, I did it.
Her class is too boring. She goes over the homework if you need help and then she moves on to the other chapters. Her tests are really hard not to mention that she doesn't allow students to use "CALCULATORS". Class is short and calculators should be allowed in order to finish assignments and especially tests. Avoid her class its HORRIBLE.
It was a good class
Okay if you got an "A" or "B" in 1033, then take her class. Otherwise you will fail miserably. Her class is difficult, there aren't any study guides given for the tests. No extra credit. You have to do so much homework for 1 or 2 pts towards your last test. Not for average "C" achievers. Please take this advice and run.
Run! Don't take her!!
I took this class online two semesters ago, and I do not recommend taking it online. It was extremely difficult, and I only barely scraped by with a B. Maybe it was the subject, maybe it was the teacher.. IDK, just don't do it online. I just finished Calculus 1 with a different professor, and that was actually easier than this precalc/trig class.
She is the sweetest professor you'll ever have. She really cares about her students & goes out of her way to help students. Gives opportunities for redemption. Hard material, but she does her best to make it less intense. Take advantage of her office hours & ask plenty of questions. You'll work hard & learn a lot. Great class & teacher!
I took her for pre-calc and I made an A in every math class I ever took except her class where I made an F. She doesn't explain the material and classes are boring. She doesn't allow calculators and gets annoyed when you ask how to do a problem. I suggest you avoid at all cost and if you need a math teacher take Piva.
I thought she was an excellent teacher. You just have to do most of the hw not all of it but just a couple of problems from each section. I got basically all a's on all the tests except for the last one because i didnt do my hw. she was really sweet and would answer any questions with no problem. I liked her attitude. Definitely recommended for tri
Norwich can be very boring in her lectures. But if you have a question she explains it every way she can until you get it. Very nice and takes time for her students. She learned all our names by the 2nd class and our backgrounds (I was a dual enrolled student and on FCAT days that I had to miss she sent me an email wishing me luck). Really nice.
I currently have this course online and she is probaby one of the best math teachers i have ever had. If you have any question she answers them immediately even on weekends and holidays. This online course has alot of work and you have to make sure you meet the due dates bc she doesn't allow late quizes and test. I would strongly recommend her.
I took this online during the summer (12 weeks) and i got a B and previosly failed. Mrs. Norwich is a great teacher very helpful. She makes videos of the reviews and allows late HW. As long as you study the review and know how to do each problem you will pass easy. She sets the class up so you CAN pass, she is the best math teacher i've had at BCC.
Mrs. Norwich was great. I took her online Precalc/trig class, and the class itself is VERY hard; when they say 5 credit hours, they mean it! But Mrs. Norwich was extremely helpful; even let me come to some of her campus lectures and reviews. She goes over each test, and gives partial credit for answers with silly mistakes (2+2=5, and the like).
Let me start off by saying that Mrs. Norwich is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. She is a great teacher, and answers all of your questions and concerns. If you do the work and study A LOT, you will pass. I, however, failed due to not being great in math. It is the hardest class I ever took, not b/c of the teacher, but b/c of the math.
she teaches way higher the math level then you are looking to take. i had a private tutor for her class and worked every hard to receive a C. She uses the same tests over and over again which the questions are from a test bank so they're totally different from they way she teaches, plus you are not allowed to use a calculator (in math class?) run
One of the best teachers I have ever had. Math has always been my least favorte and weakest subject, but she makes the class enjoyable. Extremely helpful, nice, and seems like she actually wants to be there.
Relatively easy, not a harsh grader, pleasant to be around. One just has to do their homework and ask questions.
I took calculus with Mrs. Norwich in 1992. It was calculus 2 Enjoyed that class very well. A very good teacher
You can tell how much she loves maths by how many pages of test you get each time! She plays some high school crap and she's really mean in a nice way. Not a favorable teacher. If you love maths and have no other classes or a job to worry about, she's your perfect match cause you'll have loads of homework and assignments to do! Otherwise, RUN!!
This teacher is the worst I've ever had! Long tests, tons of homework, very hard class! She does not curve and she's a really harsh grader! She even deducts points if the format is different than the way she wants us to write in class even though the result is correct. Unbelievable!
Terrible teacher. She never answers your questions when you ask her about a problem or where to find help because she won't help you. She's getting paid to stare at a computer and do nothing, she doesn't grade anything herself and on tests if you put the right answer but the format is off a little bit she's won't take the time to go back and check.
She will drop the lowest quiz grade and if there are many she will drop a second quiz grade. She is thorough in her lectures and she is happy to answer any questions you have regarding homework and current lectures. She does do one on one help if something is still not making sense. Take your time on tests and quizzes don't rush to finish first.
This class is extremely difficult, especially with her teaching style! Professor Norwich is a very likable person, but I would not recommend her as a professor. If you like professors who lecture, leave you with tons of homework, and then quiz you, then you'll like her. The tests are difficult as well.
Norwich gives a lot of homework but is helpful when I'm confused with a problem on an assignment. She has students turn in homework assignments for bonus points on tests. I would recommend her for trig and other classes she teaches.
Took her for College Algebra and Pre Calc. She assigns homework but does not grade them. All grades include Tests and Quizzes. You really have to study to get a good grade. Mrs. Norwich is very helpful; she goes over questions you have on homework and she offers assistance out of class. Overall it's easily passable if you make the effort.
Mrs.Norwich is very soft spoken and sweet. She is willing to help students step by step, but this may deter the rest of the class from proceeding. She responds to email quickly and explains everything in detail. Just be sure to stay on top of hw(will be EC), don't miss any quiz or test or you will receive a zero. Don't hesitate to ask for her help!
Norwich is a great person it appears but shes not the best professor. Often times she felt distracted and is very strict about cellphone using and talking during class. She assigns massive homework assignments and then only takes 15% of them for EC. Tests start off easy but only get harder and the final isnt easy. Best off avoiding her.
Professor Vicki is a fair teacher, but she assigns a lot of work. Future students can expect two to four sections of homework (weekly) from the textbook followed by a quiz, four review quizzes, four proctored tests, and a final exam. (Note: the quizzes and review quizzes are separate assignments & the last test & final exam are about a week apart.)
I enjoyed the class. You definitely have to earn your grade though.
She is probably a very good teacher in the normal Brick and Mortar setting. But online, we may as well be teaching ourselves how to do Calculus. I took this class online to avoid doing the class in six weeks, and do it 100% online in 12 weeks. Well, the only contact you have with her is through her email and the weekly check ins. Not impressed.
If you liked being in high school this is the class for you. Very rigid, goes over examples in the book and that's it. I would not recommend her. Does not know how to explain concept. Do the homework or else you won't get it.
Pre Calc/Trig together is a TOUGH class. Most of the class dropped it because of its pace. The instructor isn't that bad, it is the course itself that was demanding.
If you are dual enrolled and taking this class, and you have already taken algebra 2, this class is easy. The only thing is, if you just take the PreCalc class with her, you won't be getting all the instruction as you would if you were taking it at the high school. You would have to take a trigonometry class also at the college.
awesome professor, very clear and try her best to help. focus with her and do homework, u will be good.
She is such a kind-hearted person, but the class dragged on for me. I'm pretty good at math so it mainly dragged on because I already knew the majority of the material. She is not a bad teacher and I am actually taking her again in the spring for precalc. She assigns homework but does not grade it, so I never did any, but its good practice.
Uses MyMathLab for everything. Students expected to learn by watching videos provided by book. Teacher does not teach anything. She just sends you a pdf if you have a question. Tests questions come from review quizzes. Tests long and proctored. No notes or graphing calculator allowed on test. Have to email many times to get questions answered.
Mrs. Norwich is a fantastic professor! She cares about her student's education and is willing to help after most classes or during her office hour. Tests range from semi-easy to difficult. STUDY! Ask questions -- she will clarify if you don't understand something. Accepts student's feedback and is willing to change things up.
Took her 3 times college alg, precalc, and trig. She is an amazing teacher she is always there for you if you have any questions. Study!! Not because of her but because it has something to do with calculations it is required. She hates cell phones and I don't blame her. I would definitely take her for calc 2 but she is not.
Please do not take her you will regret it. Unsympathetic and merciless being she is, told me "sounds like a personal problem" when I had to leave 10 mins before class end. Blame students because she forgot to give formulas. I've met cacti that are nicer than her. No sort of leniency on test make ups or point retrieval. Run while you still can.
Homeowork is optional and not colleced for a grade, but I always did it, as it helps for test preparation tremendously. Professor Norwich would upload studyguides on canvas for tests, midterm and final with the answers so you could check your work. Excellent teacher and really sweet person.
Prof. Norwich deserves a chance. She is a good teacher but you must apply yourself, this isn't a free grade class you gotta work for it. She truly is sympathetic and caring and those who disagree didn't give her a chance. Do your very best and she will see that and reward you. She wants her students to learn and pass and she's very understanding.
Great professor!!! Would take again, sweet and helpful when you need help. She may seem hard but it really isn't her, it's just that math is hard for a lot of people and they take it out on the professor and blame them. Don't do that and take her and if you need help, go to her and get the help. It's worth it
I took all my math classes online. This teacher din't disappointing me in online teaching. There are plenty homework with similar examples so if you do all of your hw you will do good on the exam.
Don't take her. She makes the exams much harder than they need to be and doesn't take your other classes into consideration
Genuinely sweet womaneho wants to see her students suceed. Although homework is not graded of you dont do it for practice you wont pass the test. Show up, do the work and you will get a decent grade. Lectures are thorough, well spoken, and understandable.
I've always been decent at math. But when I took her class, I somehow ended up failing every single thing. I took the class with my friend, and we had a 5 hour study meet before one of the tests and I made a 50, she made a 30. On quizzes she gives you like 10 minutes and makes you turn it in even if you aren't done. She also taught way too fast...
Math online is terrible. She does not respond to any messages and the problems she chooses are really difficult.
Great professor!!! Obviously if you don't do your homework and you don't pay attention in class, you won't get far. Sweet and caring and seriously if you have a math problem, just go to her office and she'll explain it one on one with you. Do your homework even if it isn't collected, it'll help you out.
The material itself was difficult for me, but Professor Norwich provided a lot of outside sources and material and her own work as well to help all the students and individuals. I reached out to her on multiple occasions when I was struggling, and she was very responsive and helpful.
She grades tests based on work and right answer, so don't guess or you won't get points. The HW is done on MyMathLab and we had HW for nearly every lesson covered. Don't talk/use your phone in class or she'll call you out and you'll be on her bad side. Take notes based on the lecture. Sweet southern lady, but can be very strict at times.
I'm not a math person, but Mrs. Norwich really helped me along. She's a super sweet southern lady who gives off real grandma vibes. She cares for her students, wants to see them succeed, and REALLY wants to help them pass. She does practice problems with you in class, and homework was online. She's just the sweetest thing.
Her lectures are fast paced. She is rude and will make comments to the entire class if you are one of the last test takers, like dont be embarrassed if youre last. she gets off topic easily. Her tests are on 8 sections at a time which is very difficult to master by the test. Many other MAC 1105 professors test 4 sections at once
