She covers the book and uses videos in her lecture. You are given a Test Objectives WS to fill out to guide you through what she skips. All of her tests are mult-choice, nothing tricky. The final is not comprehensive. She assigns one writing assignment, and a current events project. Recommended.
Excellent and fair professor. Dr. Ritts is extremely clear in her directions and expectations.
very clear on instructions, understanding person, test pretty easy and she tells you excatly what will be on the test.
This is a good class to take. I got an A. The tests are all multiple choice. If you study the notes you will do fine. The only tricky thing is that there are questions from the book on the test that she doesn't cover in class.
Its been awhile since I was in Dr.Ritts class but I know it was an interesting and well taught class. I would look for any psych class she is teaching.
She's a pretty fun teacher, she's not monotone or boring in any way. Makes the class interesting, showed a lot of cool videos, and her notes are really easy to study from.
funny, cool, fun, informative, awesome. she is so funny, and awesome! all I have to say. she makes the lessions fun, with a lot of real life application, therefore it's easier to learn. relatively easy.
She makes psychology fun. I had her for a writing intensive and it wasn't too hard. Just show up and pay attention, read and study the notes to pass her class.
she extremley easy and nice. interesting projects.
Its just alot of notes...after you get over the fact that you are writing alot of notes(which all come from an overhead) its not all that bad. She is a very interesting woman which makes the class not boring at all. All of her tests are multiple choice y
Fun teacher, easy class...easiest A I ever got.
the human brain proccesses an overwhelming amount of information every second. The things we see, touch, etc, are all filtered through our complex minds. reality is undefinable. Our thoughts are infinite. This class is boring. Its strange how a teacher can talk to us about the ability of the mind, but one leaves class rarely inspired and usually tired.
What a great professor..even though I personally don't think she liked me. LOL. Very interesting and informative stuff I learned. Just be in class, take notes, and study. She's fun. I liked her.
SHES the best....shes funny...gets the job done and makes it fun
She the best ud be lucky to have her. She makes it easey to learn and fun. Go see the tutor it will help u alot cause she get people that took her class before.
Dr. Ritts is one of the best professors i have ever had. She is hilarious and makes class as fun as possible. She's interesting and fair. She is a must-have if you need a psych course.
The most Professional and interesting Professor I have ever had. Dr. Ritts is very knowledgeable in her field. She has a passion for teaching and it shows in her classes. I always looked forward to her lectures. She is also very funny.
Just attend her lectures and pay attention adnyou wont need to study..
Good at communicating and setting expectations. High standards and very professional. Encourages critical thinking and considers opposing views. Grades tests and quizes very promptly. One of the best teachers at Meramec!!
EXCELLENT TEACHER!!! I WILL REPEAT EXCELLENT TEACHER!!!! Dr. Ritts is well organized and she knows what she is talking about. She will help you in any way. You can really learn a lot from her. Her tests come from lecture notes which she puts on power point. I highly recommend her for any psy class!
Great professor! She makes it very clear what to study so you are not guessing what will be on the tests. She is very kind and approachable. She is willing to answer any questions and is very helpful. I would recommend her for General Psychology.
I love Dr. Ritts. I loved attending her class. She made it so fun. Her tests are very straight forward..if you have the notes you'll get an A! I would recommend her class for sure.
She is a very good professore who knows her work. Her classes are always fun because she has different movies that explain every lecture. IF you attend every class and read your notes couple of times you will not have a problem to get an A. Good luck and enjoy!!!
She is a good teacher don't get me wrong. We take alot of notes in class and alot from the text book. Her tests had trick questions and things I don't ever recall studying. I went to everyclass and listened to everything she said. I still managed to fail the first test.
If you attend all the classes and study at least three days ahead of time you will be fine. It worked for me! She is a good teacher and I have learned alot and I did not fall asleep once in her class, which is impressive!
Dr. Ritts is an amazing teacher, makes her class vey enjoyable. the only problem is that she dosent give extra credit at all. so if you screw up with one test. YOU SCREWED UP.
Really enthusiastic about what she teaches and she really makes it easy to understand. She gives you what she calls "textbook objectives" which is a list of things you need to look up in the text for each test, if you look those up, go over them a couple times, and write down everything from her power point lectures, you'll get an A easy!
Mrs. Ritts is a great person! She is helpful and keeps you interested. She works with many learning styles. It would be hard to fail her class if you apply yourself. She helped me when I needed her even with letting me speak about a matter I was supporting in front of her class. Straight to the point and very organized and focussed on task!
Very knowledgeable of curriculum & created a conducive learning environment
She made this class fun and interesting!
dr ritts is a great teacher, her tests are very hard and she moves somewhat quickly but she keeps class very interesting so you dont want to miss class. she makes learning pyschology actually fun
I LOVE THIS TEACHER!:) She rocks my world!
AMAZING!!!
She is an amazing teacher, her class is so much fun and you will enjoy her class. She shows different videos related to the lecture and makes it much easier to understand to topic, but her exams are not easy. You should study exactly what she said.
The class is 5 multiple choice tests NONE of which are cumulative. Very easy if you are good at memorizing definitions. No homework or writing.
Loved her class!
I liked her general psych course so much I'm taking her adolescent psych course this semester. Her lectures are very entertaining. Take good notes and study hard for the exams.
She is an amazing teacher! I loved her class! She's hilarious and makes learning psychology really fun
Very helpfull and worked hard with me.
Okay... so i dont think anybody would tell this but i will! she is a WONDERFUL teacher but, her tests are SUPER hard! u could study all night but still wont get an A. Her questions are extremely TRICKY!! she is awesome but if u wanna take an easy A class DONT TAKE HER! take PATTY KELLER! she is amazing and an easy A :) hope this helps!
I took General Psychology and Adolescent Psychology with Dr. Ritts. There are no surprises. Her tests are challenging. Study the text book objectives she provides and the in-class quizzes. She gives great lectures and shows several informational videos throughout the semester.
Vicki class isnt easy and if you dont show up or ready the material you will bomb. However shes a great teacher and one of the best at Meramec. PS NO CELL PHONES IN HER CLASS she will catch you trust me.
Wonderful teacher that makes psychological concepts easy to understand and fun/
Mrs. Ritts was an awesome teacher. She specifically gave out handouts for each chapter stating what will me on the test that she WILL NOT cover in class, so basically if you wrote the definitions you would get it right on the test. Her tests were not bad at all, as long as you studied you would atleast get a B. Overall GREAT teacher. Makes PSY fun!
Using the textbook is a must. She is very clear about it. She is also very willing to help
wonderful teacher. very helpful, cares about the students. Makes things fun and interesting. Pay attention, take good notes, and use her text book objectives handout. Not easy, but fun and interesting.
Took the 3 week summer course... she managed to make 3 hours a day of psych interesting. Tests were 100% multiple choice, with most of the questions from our class notes. Straightforward test questions; she's not trying to trick you. Great professor who really knows her stuff and can actuatlly teach you alot in 3 weeks. A nice lady to boot!
She is so good that I'm taking another class with her. When I'm in her class I'm having fun.
She was a fairly decent professor, but wasn't really anything spectacular. Expect to get a good grade if you put in the hours of studying, but don't blame Vicki if you do poorly because I really think her teaching style is the kind that suits everybody's needs. She uses power points for her lectures and has good control over the class.
Good teacher for the most part. You have to study a lot during the test. It's a very applied class. There are easier and harder teachers.
I absolutely loved her! Her lectures are extremely clear as to what she's looking for in the test. She makes the class fun. I would definately recomend her to anyone!
I absolutely loved her! Her lectures are extremely clear as to what she's looking for in the test. She makes the class fun. I would definately recomend her to anyone!
She teaches the same class each semester slide for slide. My friend looked at my notes from the semester before and they matched his word for word. Tests are multiple choice and as long as you pay attention in class you should pass the class. Does give random in class writting assignments and have to be there to do it, no make up assignments
She was a fantastic teacher. She used powerpoints for her lectures and was full of energy. I would recommend her to everyone! Also she pretty much tells you exactly what is on the test. Pay attention in class and it is a breeze.
Really good at teaching. I learned a lot.
Very quirky.
I absolutely loved her class. She's funny, helpful, and an excellent professor. Not to mention you can tell she loves what she does! If you show up, you'll pass. Simple as that.
Prof Ritts is amazing! She's hilarious and makes class fun. I learned so much from her, and she made me love psych so much that I took every single psych class we have at STLCC. I highly recommend her!
Dr. Ritts is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She makes class very fun and exciting. You actually want to come to class. It is pretty easy as long as you are there and get the notes. I will take every class she teaches.
She is an excellent professor and does a wonderful job of teaching the class. I highly recommend.
She is an amazingly awesome teacher!! Never boring! If you take notes and study guide SHE GIVES YOU then you will easily get an A! Sweet, energetic, and easy to pay attention to...take this class if you need a psych credit! She is wonderful and easy to learn from! I would def take her class again!
Dr. Ritts is a really good teacher. She is really nice once you get to know her. As long as you attend all of her classes, take all of the notes, read your text book and practice the study quizzes that she puts on Blackboard, you are sure to do well on the exams. Oh, and don't forget to see a tutor if you really want to make a straight A in class.
Great Teacher! Fun, Smart! Loves to show videos. MUST READ BOOK TO PASS CLASS! Only prob with this course is that the book sucks and she tests 40% or so from the text that's not covered in lecture.
Favorite teacher here! She was funny and personal! Loved going to her class! Such an easy and awesome class high suggest taking class!!
Great teacher! Explains everything clear and gives great examples. No surprises, she covers things that will be on exams.
Very good teacher. Don't use the book much in class and have to read it on own time. Overall a great teacher that teaches you a lot, highly recommend taking her
Enjoyed her class. Her lectures are interesting as well as informative. She gave me a B, but I would certainly rate her an A+! Read the book, study, and pay attention on her tests. She likes to cleverly word questions and they require a bit of thought and dissecting to answer correctly.
You have to read the book majority of the test is from the book. Also take notes because they arent online and she wont give you a copy.
Dr. Ritts is awesome Funny informative fair and really helpful I don''t know how anyone could not like her. Definitely have to read assigned chapters and show up to every lecture if you want to do well on exams. She does drop big hints about whats on the test so it''s your fault if you fail.
She is a great teacher! I would recommend attending class everyday because she doesn't put the lectures online. She tells you what is going to be on the test (lecture notes and the textbook learning objectives). She gives examples and shows a lot of videos. There are 10 in class writings, 1 mini paper, and 4 tests. I recommend getting her!
I took this class as a gen ed, but now I really want to keep taking classes with Dr. Ritts. Teaching comes so naturally to her. She teaches with such clarity and is so fair in her grading. You have to have the book if you want to get 100 percent on tests. Her lectures take up the whole class, but they are so interesting and she makes it so easy.
She is an excellent professor, but her tests need a lot of reading and luck
Dr. Ritts is the second psychology teacher I've had in college, and hands down is the best one. She is passionate about the material and keeps my attention the whole time. I'm actually a little sad when class is over in the morning, and i am not a morning person. She cares about her students, and is always on top of her A-game.
Her lectures are straight from power points and pretty boring, tests are super easy. Lots of random little writing assignments. She uses really old videos in her classes and they are super boring. She's not very nice to her students.
Lecturre is generally interesting but there is a lot of book work. Tests aren't necessarilly hard as much as they are challanging because of cause and effect re-wording.
Tests are all off her powerpoints, which I love! You can definitely get an easy A as long as you pay attention in class and write notes word for word. Shes a great teacher and is very clear with what she is looking for. I am taking her again next semester, shes great!
Dr Ritts is amazing. She gives you everything you need to pass, you just have to take good notes, do textbook objectives and be in class for her random in class assignments that are really easy points. She makes you think about the material on the tests, but if you study, it shouldn't be hard. Easy A
I normally hate lectures, but she made hers awesome. She always used a powerpoint and everything from the powerpoint was on the tests. She supplies practice tests and quizzes on blackboard which are super helpful. Tests are tough because you can't just memorize material, you just have to apply knowledge.
I found her lectures to be engaging and pleasant. I got a better perspective of the subject from here class. She outlines all the things you need to do with online homework guides as well as easy to follow power-point note guides. She is approachable and an A is certain if you follow rules. Wish she has emphasized more of the biological aspects.
Use the textbook objectives
She's really funny, and made Psychology very interesting. Tests are made up of 50 multiple choice questions.
Dr. Ritts is an awesome lady. She made coming to class a joy. Very straightforward and doesn't hold absences against you. Highly recommend you use the test objectives!!! There were 2 (1 page) papers with tons of time to accomplish, not much homework otherwise. I plan on taking this professor again. Love her.
Vicki Ritts is honestly the best Psychology teacher I've ever had. She explains the information extremely well. She is very honest and approachable and will go the extra mile to help you succeed. Her tests aren't hard if you do the textbook objectives, and take good notes; it's a given A if you do. She has study quizzes and gives the best lectures.
Vicki Ritts is honestly the best teacher I've ever had. She makes understanding psychology easy and makes it fun. I'm very sad that I can't take her class again this semester. :(
Dr. Ritts is AWESOME. She gives you every chance to succeed. On her website are tons of self quizzes that help so much to get a good grade on the exams and clear textbook objectives so you know what to focus on in the textbook. She makes the lectures fun and she is hilarious. Study and use the resources she provides and you'll do well.
Professor Ritts always made class fun and it was never hard to pay attention to her. She explains the course in ways that students will understand her by putting it into day to day life experiences. Definitely will need the book, test covers in class lectures and homework (which is notes from the book). Tests are never too hard. Would take again!
Professor Ritts was very interactive and made class fun. Would definitely take again
Dr. Ritts is awesome. She made lectures fun, and has a lot of material on her website to help you pass. This class was an easy A. Her tests are very easy if you pay attention and take good notes.
I personally did not enjoy her class. I have taken a handful of other Psychology classes at Meramec and she's the worst of them. She was nice. Just class time was boring. She read off powerpoint slides and did not engage the class. I wanted to like her, but I just did not enjoy her. I got an A- in the class.
There is reading but she gives you the questions to find answers to in the textbook. She's an incredibly straight forward person and will help you if needed. If you do something rude she will call you out in front of the whole class. Tests are easy if you just look over your notes. Grades are in within an hour typically.
Good Professor, actually cares. Pay attention to lectures
Dr. Ritts is an amazing professor. She is organized, flexible, and gives amazing lectures. In PSY 206 there were four tests (45 ?s multiple choice, 5 ?s short answer), two 1-2 page application papers, and 10 easy personal opinion in-class assignments (10 min spent on each). She made social psych so interesting, and I would recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Ritts is an awesome teacher. She is always so upbeat and prepared. You can tell she loves her job and her students. She adds humor to her lectures. She is so down to earth. I love that she gets our grades back to us really fast. She cares and respects her students. The online quizzes (optional) really helped prepare me for the tests.
Dull.
The class was mostly made out of lectures but she was funny so it did not matter to me. She tried to make class more interesting with anecdotes and videos that relating real life back to the material that we were learning. She didn't give out much homework with the exception of one term paper that only had to be like two pages.
No weekly assignment, no worksheets, only DB and 2 exams will cover all your points. unprofessional instructor to give only 2 chance of exams each cover 5 chapters, each exams include 75 question with 85 min to answer. made the work so easy for herself.
I took her psych class in the summer and I enjoyed her and the curriculum. She made the class enjoyable. There is a lot of textbook reading though, and it is lecture heavy but she makes the class 10x easier by providing an objective list to follow as you read to point out the important stuff for the tests.
Dr. Ritts is great! Her power points are set up to look exactly how your notes should look and she clearly elaborates on every slide. If you pay attention and take good notes this class is easy. She's also hilarious, which makes this lecture-heavy class very enjoyable. Does not tolerate any disrespect, if you talk in class she WILL call you out.
Prof. Ritts is super funny, and she makes the long lectures bearable. She doesn't take any crap from students, so be ready to listen and pay attention. Mainly note-taking with outside textbook reading and some in-class participation points spread out sporadically throughout the semester. As long as you take notes and read the textbook, you'll pass!
Professor Ritts General Psychology course was a pleasure to be in. She uses powerpoints in every lecture and gives you a good amount of time to copy the notes down. She is very funny, which helps make her lectures more enjoyable. Im so glad I took this course. I learned a lot from this woman! My only advice is to make sure you study hard!
Professor Ritts is by far my favorite teacher at Meramec. She is funny and real about everything. If you pay attention to her lectures and take her notes down you will pass this class with flying colors. The textbook is only used for her textbook objectives.
The best teacher I ever had. I took PSY 200 last semester and now I'm in PSY 205 and her lectures are the greatest. About grading, she is very efficient. The exams are straight forward and clear. I would take these teacher over and over cause she is the best. I will miss her so much cause PSY 205 is the last class I'm taking with her .
Professor Ritts is an amazing professor. Her tests are hard in my opinion, but her lectures are amazing and she is very funny. I really enjoyed taking her course and would most definitely recommend her.
love her!! if I could take more classes with her I would! she's great at explaining and giving examples and she's very funny! great personality and caring!
Great teacher, but make sure to read the book. Stuff from the book will be on the test!!!
P. Ritts is absolutely incredible. She is so funny! You need to read the textbook, but she makes a list of important terms(nothing else from tb is on test). Your grade is based on 4 exams and in class writings, but that's it. She doesn't post her notes, so go to class(it's fun). I highly reccomend her, she makes psychology interesting and fun!
Good lectures. Her tests have lots of application questions. No homework, but do the textbook objectives, take notes, study, and you'll be fine. Interesting class. Seemed accessible outside of class, responded quickly to emails. No papers and no extra credit. Approachable, good person, and considerate. Tests and lectures are important
Cannot stress enough to READ THE BOOK!! She will tell you many times and take that into consideration. Most of the questions will be on the test!! Overall she was literally the sweetest person ever and so understanding to everything! One thing I loved was she was slow during lectures and repeated slides so you had time to write it down.
Pretty much an easy A, I'm just not smart lol. Good teacher.
The course moved online because of covid and it was the worst experience. A lot of my other professors worked hard to deliver something close to a real class but not her. She doesnt seem to care near as much as others. I wouldnt sign up for a class with her because if it goes online you will get nothing.
Her class is easy if you enjoy reading. I got a B because I didn't read the text book as well as I should have. If you read the book and take good notes, this class should be an easy A. Plus, she's really funny and gives great lectures. 10/10 would take again.
Dr. Ritts is one of the best psychology professors at STLCC. You must study and show up to class because each lecture is important. She is hilarious and she makes the material very easy to understand. You must be engaged and study plenty and you will succeed. If you are a slacker this is not the class for you. Everyday in her class counts.
Sure its easy compared to the classes Ive learned things in but like someone else said- worst possible online experience! Ive taken actual online classes not ones that went online because of covid and had much more interaction from the professors! So many of us would rather have our money back than what we got the last 1/2 of term.
A funny, understanding instructor. Her slides are important, but she works slowly, repeats things, and always clearly shares what will be on her tests. Grade is weighted thru in-class participation and only 4 (!!!) exams, so show up (or get notes) and be sure to do the Textbook Objectives to be comfortable with the material.
Boring Do not think she has taught much. Just reads us from book
I took professor Ritts summer 2020 4 week online course due to the pandemic. She is very straightforward. We had a 25 question exam for each chapter and a discussion board question each week. Read her notes, the end of chapter summaries and definitions in the book, and answer the chapter objectives (study guide). Easy A. I missed an A few points
very straightforward; could get ahead if you wanted to because she uploaded everything once the class started; very encouraging teacher (would legit send me an email after every single test saying 'keep up the good work' or 'keep working hard'); very test heavy; just need to read the textbook well to do well in this class
When everything went to online due to COVID, I just couldnt do it. Ive taken her class before and loved her. She was just a great teacher and actually cared about the students. When I hadnt logged in Blackboard in a while, she contacted asking if everything was ok. I told her I was fine, I just cant do online classes, and she understood.
Professor Ritts is hands down my favorite professor that I have had since attending STLCC. I have actually taken classes by her for 3 semesters now. She is so easy to follow, and has such a fun and outgoing personality. Her tests are based off of examples and not definitions, but are very easy to score at least a B on. A+++ from me !!
Very kind, definitely my favorite professor. In-class writings are common. Makes lectures fun.
Do not take her classes. Not interested in her students.
Below awful do not take this class. Never reads your papers just does auto grade and does not care that textbook is outdated.
Her course is outdated, it seems clear shes phoning it in, and what she did for what was supposed to be Live Virtual Lectures wasnt anything close to what I got from other professors. She doesnt really engage and her feedback isnt helpful at all unless youre a favorite. Many other options at STLCC take it with someone else.
Prof. Ritts was a good choice for my PSY200 class. I chose her based on RMP ratings that I found and I feel as though I made a great decision. She gives you feedback on work and sends you personal "attaboy" messages when you do a good job - I really appreciated that. Work load was a 5/10, not bad at all just need a little time to read.
Dr. Ritts is a great professor! Her lecture are interesting and engaging. Would definitely recommend! A few tips: Attendance not required, but if you miss you might miss important info, as she doesnt share her slides. Also, definitely read the text! The exam questions come from both the text and the lectures, and not all of that info overlaps.
Dr. Ritts is so far my favorite professor I've ever had. I had her in a class before and decided to take her section of Human Growth. She always gives feedback on discussion boards, quizzes, and tests, and is not a hard grader! She's so understanding of life outside of school and helps students actually learn the material and not just memorize it.
One of the smoothest online classes I've ever taken - especially for a short, 8 week summer class! You're graded by weekly discussion board posts/participation, exams about every other weekend, and one essay. Dr. Ritts sent almost daily emails about what is due that week, which I found very helpful and encouraging. I'm sad I didn't get to meet her!
If you're looking to learn from someone who is even the least bit engaged in what is going on, avoid this instructor. She's dismissive of concerns and very rigid even during a pandemic.
Only teaches about 50% of the material in class and expects you to read the textbook and teach yourself the rest. Her PowerPoints are just definitions, on premade PowerPoint templates. Its easy to pass, but don't expect to feel engaged.
Professor Ritts is a great teacher and makes learning easy. Her lecture's are easy to read and understand, read the book for additional information because it will be on the test. Easy to access outside of class time. Answers questions throughly and loves when people participate. Highly recommend taking her for a PSY class.
Dr. Ritts' lecture are wonderful! This is the second class I have taken with her and I'm signed up for two more! Lots of reading but so so interesting and a wonderful teacher.
Love her. Must take! If you show up for class every day and pay attention and just apply yourself anyone can do it and its fairly interesting actually. You dont have to use the launchpad course textbook provided but she does strongly recommend it because there is some material in there that she doesnt use for lecture but uses for tests.
Make sure you read the book!! She will throw in questions from the book on the quizzes/tests. If you want a teacher that doesnt seem enthusiastic, then you are looking in the right direction. She tries to go over every slide by the time class is over & you wont have time to write everything down. Good luck passing her course!
Professor Ritts is by far my favorite professor. I feel that I have learned so much from her lectures, I do recommend you read the book and take the practice quizzes as they help a TON in the tests. In fact, some of them even word for word on the test. She is caring and compassionate and you can tell that she knows a lot about what she is teaching.
Phenomenal educator!
Possibly the most organized professor at STLCC. Every assignment is clear and every deadline is known. Dr. Ritts is also a super fast grader. I honestly wish Dr. Ritts could advise the rest of the STLCC staff on how to run a successful online course. I can't believe how well she runs her classes. Dr. Ritts is an outstanding professor!
This class is one of the easiest classes I've taken. Class consists of exams, writing assignments, and a paper at the end of the semester. The writings are very easy (opinion based and only a paragraph will do). Exams are also easy, 35 ?'s/exam, just go over knowledge checks and objectives, and you'll pass. She is a very fun and engaging professor.
She is very passionate about what she is teaching! Make sure you read the textbook and go over the slides and the knowledge checks. She is a little strict about people going to the bathroom and you getting up from your seat. But I would 1000% take her again. She is amazing!!!
Loved this class! Great intro to psych and the tests were made to be very easy to study for as long as you did the knowledge checks to make sure you know what's on the test. Totally recommend!!! :)
Amazing nad gives you the answers to memorize for exams .
Awesome and caring teacher. Class only consisted of two discussions and one quiz a week.
Professor Ritts is so wonderful. She is super caring. Her class is easy too. You are graded by 6 tests and 5 point writings you do in class that are very easy just answer the prompt she puts up. For the tests she posts review quizzes do them they are identical to the tests. There is one essay in the class that is fairly easy don't stress about it.
Dr. Ritts is the best online professor I've had at STLCC. She is a quick grader and gives helpful feedback. Expectations are reasonable and clear. Highly recommended professor!
Great professor! Love that she has a clear grading criteria on her papers. Lots of reading but I also like that she includes videos and articles as well so not all just reading your book. Make sure you do the quizzes that are included in the modules even though they aren't for credit. Trust me it is a MUST! Will be taking her Intro Social Psy
Engaging lessons and lectures. Best experience I've had at STLCC so far with a class.
Very fun lectures that enhance your learning. She posts the slides that she uses for class so if you missed something, reference them but I highly recommend going to lectures because you'll learn better from them than just looking at slides. Tests are all the same, 35 questions multiple choice, and no cumulative tests.
Great overall. Do the knowledge checks they are very helpful and some are on exams but study more than just that.
Dr. Ritts is a very fun and engaging teacher. Curriculum and class is super organized and easy to follow. Knowledge checks is all I'm gonna say for tests. (Use them to study, she puts similar if not the same questions on exams.) Lectures are super helpful so don't miss class.
Professor Ritts is the best! Her lectures on Human Growth and Development were super interesting! Exams are all multiple-choice and very easy if you study for them. She provides clear objectives for you to study for tests and also has optional knowledge checks on Canvas that are almost identical to the tests. No quizzes, 6 exams. Loved her class!
She really needs a rating of 10!!! Her lectures are not only informative, but really have you thinking " outside of the box". I took her class for PSY 200 and 205 (online). She's very clear and concise about all material. My best advice for future students is DO THE KNOWLEDGE CHECKS!!!!! Trust me it works. I received an A in both courses. Awesome!!
Dr. Ritts is my favorite professor at Meramec. She is engaging, thoughtful, and has a passion for psychology that comes through in her lectures. The textbook was free, but essential because her tests often had questions straight out of the book to reward those who took the time to read. I highly recommend taking her class!
I LOVED PROFESSOR RITTS!! She is educated, helpful, caring, and most importantly, inspiring within the subject of psychology. She knows what she is doing and loves what she does! Make sure you attend her classes as she will give you in-class writing assignments that are a decent part of your grade. Overall, great professor! 10/10, would take again.
I took her General Psychology class in Fall of 2023 and absolutely loved it. She keeps the lectures easy to follow along and to take notes. She also has plenty of videos to break up notes and it helps you remember material. All you need is a basic spiral notebook and a pencil for this class, she also recently started providing the textbook online!
Professor Ritts' lectures are engaging and insightful. Attending class and doing the knowledge checks are key to doing well. I also found unstuck AI and the textbook helpful for exam prep. Overall, a great intro psych class!
I had her for my first semester of college and she was the best! The class itself was very easy. She says textbook reading is needed, but it's honestly not. There's no homework, and she only grades on class participation (once a week a short answer question) and exams (which are straight from PowerPoint and the optional practice quizzes on canvas!)
Professor Ritts sets you up for success in this class. She includes helpful videos and PowerPoints to reinforce the material. The knowledge checks are very helpful come test time, make sure you take the time to do them! She's also very responsive to emails. Easy A.
She was knowledgeable but one of the post passive aggressive professors I have ever met. Just because you bare your teeth does not mean you are smiling. Had 3 lecture absences with legit excuses and she would single me out and address me “finally” being present in class in front of the entire student body. Crabby old lady.
She was very passive aggressive with my friend, when she literally shows up, does her work, makes good grades in this class...she has an A. She doesnt turn in anything late, yet she still seems to have a problem with her. I have slightly noticed it with me, but particularly my friend. Her lectures are very dull.
Super easy class, just pay attention during lectures and read the book, and you'll be fine. Grades are clear and simple, and she's great at giving reminders for upcoming exams, so you know to study. She's very friendly, and she uploads exam scores the day of, great class and professor
This professor is amazing. She doesn't give a ton of homework, and the class overall is light. I never felt overwhelmed with her classes and her exams are pretty easy. She gives almost no homework, and the textbook reading she does tell you to do can be easily spaced out over time. 100% would take her class again if I could.
Super funny and great at teaching the material! Lectures are interesting and relevant to tests. 6 total tests and 1 makeup exam. Pop writing assignments throughout the course. Free, online textbook, but she clearly explains what to study from the chapters in Canvas.
no projects and ony tests so if youre not a good test taker do not take this class. tests also barely make any sense copared to what she teaches
Prof. Ritts is so kind, quite literally if you just read your assignments, text, and resources, it's a simple ride from the beginning to end. Gives feedback quicky, supportive.
Exam based class with some in clsss writings that are only worth 5 points so it doesn't do anything to your grade. She also literally just reads off the powerpoint so monotone that you honestly can't pay attention at all because it's so boring.
Boring. Grades poorly
