this teacher is very easy and doesnt count attendance at all if you understand the subject before the class and dont need a teacher to teach it to you this is the right teacher to have
GREAT TEACHER!!! He really takes time out to help you out with anything that you need. Highly recommend this teacher...plus- class usually doesn't even take up the whole 50 minutes. we leave in about 15-20 minutes. Totally Awesome!
If you don't mind having a teacher who doesn't teach....take Mr. Brennan. He's not a full time teacher, and it's fully apparent. If you need this class in order to move up, get somebody else.
Horriable Teacher. Doesnt teach anything, makes you feel stupid for asking ?'s he says "its very easy guys." Got an A but didnt learn much of anything. Dont take if you need to go ahead to calc.
Mr. Brennan is the worst math teacher to take especially if you aren't good with the subject. He is a great guy when he isn't teaching, but this class confused me more than any other class I have taken. He doesn't explain problems and doesn't require any work. If you really need help in this subject, don't take Professor Brennan.
He was great!!! Explain the same subject for a couple of days if you do not understand. Take him for any class.
This is a teacher that can to teach worth crap. If you are ready have trouble in math do not take him. This class is mostly a teach yourself class. Students are required to be on time for class but the teacher never is. He is always late about 5 to 15 min. every class. He kinda has an attutide. He also does not assign any kind of real math work.
RUN!!! Do not take this class what ever you do. Brennan is a great guy when he is not teaching. makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Can not teach and you dont want to ask him for help. worst teacher ive ever had. test are the only thing he gives and they are HARD!!! take anyone else...NOT HIM. RUN!!!
Horrible
Great Teacher I'm horriable at math and he has been great. He lets you make up tests if you scored below a 70%. Very nice guy and wants you to pass!
he will pass anyone but come on now we are in college and need to learn something. i got a good grade but i dont see how. he tries to help you but makes you feel stupid if you dont understand. if you dont like ilrn dont take him the only assignments are tests and ilrn! he lets you have cheat sheets on tests and that is why you pass.
Run! This guy gets paid for nothing.
He is a terrible teacher, he doesn't teach you correctly. He gives you the wrong answers and when you ask for help on problem and you don't understand it after he explains it he gets mad. He also teaches problems to you half way and expects you to figure out the rest of it. Don't take his class, unless you don't want to learn anything.
Only reason I took this class was because I thought it would be a good refresher course.Honestly though, I feel really bad for the students that have never seen the material before this class.Tells the students to ask questions but gets angry when students don't understand something.Hard to stay awake in class;skips steps when working out problems.
he was very willing to help when ever i needed it. and was willing to review things i was suppose to learn in highschool but didn't. i would take his class again. i bot a B+ and i really stink at math
This guys is great. i absolutely love math...ive always made all a's in it....so it was an easy course for me....easy A....dont be scared to ask questions if you dont understand....he is very willing to answer anything you might want to ask. i would recommend him to anybody.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS especially if you have been out of math for more than a year. He was a horrible teacher. Very impatient with students questions. He made us feel bad for not knowing what he was doing! HIS TESTS WERE HARD! He doesnt give reviews. He was consistent with skipping class. Too bad i didnt read his comments before i took his class.
I am not happy with this class! I need him to tell me how to do the work not make me have to teach myself! I can not read a book about something I have never seen before, then just do it on my own. He will help you out with your grade if you need it. Just wish he would TEACH. He will make you feel stupid for asking ?'s.
I thought he was a great teacher. He doesn't always do every step of every problem. He expects that at this point people should know the basics. He is very helpful and will not move on until he knows everyone understands. He has little patience for people who don't interact w/ him or who don't seem to be paying attention. Drops lowest test grade.
I am normally a straight A student...a)he is the most disorganized person ever b)you have to pay very close attention to his lectures, otherwise your done c)his tests are somewhat different than what he reviews d)he is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with
THIS TEACHER IS SO HORRIBLE. HE MAKES YOU FEEL STUPID FOR ASKING QUESTIONS.IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN MATH FOR A YEAR DONT TAKE HIS CLASS.HE BARELY EXPLAINS AND THE CLASS IS BASED ON TEST.HE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID FOR ASKING QUESTIONS AND HE DOESNT WANT TO HELP YOU OUTSIDE OF CLASS.DONT TAKE HIM IF U WANT TO PASS MAT1033.
teaches well
This professor is the worst i have ever seen. You cannot understand anything with him. Sometimes you have to ask yourself if he speaks the same language as you.I don't see anyway someone can past this class with him. He's so boring.I used to take this class but i had to change it in the middle of the semester because i was about to fail.So..if you
he is a good teacher. the class grade is based totally on tests, but he is helpful- during class, while he is exlpaining problems, he will stop and ask if we are getting it or understanding. the people who complain about him are the ones who don't undestand, yet don't speak up. it's their faults for not asking questions. :)
Attend class. Ask questions. Seek him out. He is very helpful, but assumes a bit of desire on the part of the student. Namely, that you comprehend the material and are actively pursuing an understanding of the material. Very fair in grading!
I went into this class optimistic to learn and i was going to try my best, because math is definitely not my best subject. But this teacher just stinks. He only has 4 grades for the entire class, and if you ask questions he makes you feel like an idiot. Also, he expects you to learn on your own if you dont understand. I had to drop this class.
He has no interest in teaching, not sure why he picked this profession he obviously has a degree in Mathematics not in teaching mathematics.
TERRIBLE. WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. ITS LIKE YOU CANT EVEN ASK A QUESTION BECAUSE HE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID..
He was horrible
Exelent teacher, if you want an A, just gotta ask questions and seek for help on the office hours!
Horrible teaching math. He always asks if you have any questions to cover his tail, but he doesn't really mean what he says. He doesn't have so much patience and really gets frustrated when you do have a question as if Im supposed to know the answer.
Not very helpful. Just came into the class wrote notes on the bored and asked if anyone had questions if they did not moved on and told us to do work from in the book. When doing work from the book it was nothing like what he was teaching in the class and his tests were not like both the text book material or the class room notes. Very confusing!
No HELP!!!
Worst math teacher I have ever had... If you ask him for help on a test, he will GIVE YOU THE ANSWER instead of answering your question about the poorly worded problem, decide while grading it that it's the WRONG answer, and fail you... I had to drop him to save my GPA. Took this class with someone else and did well... He's an idiot...
horrible. you ask him a question, he completely demoralizes you. you are inferior, and he is superior. teaches whats on the test a few weeks AFTER the test. grades down on problems he doesnt' ask you to do. has no personality. does not give partial credit. that's about it. RUNNNN
very unclear about expectations of the students. Requests certain aspects of work after an assignment has been turned in and then penalizes the completed assignment. When reexplaining a problem for a student who does not understand he repeats himself in a way that feels almost insulting. He is very bad about finding different ways explain processes
everthing every one said about him was true 100%. he seems like a nice guy but he is not ment to be a teacher.he trys to convie an idea but get upset not at the student but at him self for not being able to explain it well. i thought that i could brave any teacher not matter how bad and still make it trough, but i was very wrong, dont take him run!
Professor Brennan is great. He's helpful and willing to go above and beyond to help you. People get upset b/c they think he's yelling at them when they ask a question. He's only trying to get people to think critically about their q's so when they're doing it on their own on a test, they can remember. I took him twice. Recieved an A & B+.
I was iffy on Brennan at first. He's confusing, but he makes easy tests (for the most part). But at the end of the semester he helped me out BIG time and gave me a B when I should have had a D+ at best, so he's ok in my book!
Mr. Brennan is a really nice guy! If you show him your working hard he will help you get a good grade. He has been the only math teacher that has clearly gone out of his way to help me. Homework isnt graded or manditory and all of his test are cumulative. Come to class with homework questions and you'll do fine. Take him!
Experience in his class made me feel like I would never succeed at college math. Made students feel stupid. Went off on major tangents. He was willing to help in office hours but I just couldn't learn from him. Tests were impossibly difficult and confusing. I don't criticize lightly. Got a D, retook with different professor and got an A !
Very hard to follow. He gets frustrated when you ask questions.
He does not teach at all! Just puts problems up and expects you to know how to do it, and does not respond well to questions. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I am good at math, never had a problem with it until he made even the simplest things confusing!
For the love of all that's right and holy please DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The absolute worst teacher I have ever had. Made you feel soo stupid and worthless. If your looking for a pathetic excuse for a teacher then look no farther!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Brennan is an ok teacher. He will help if you ask and attendence and homework aren't mandatory. Some people complain about him not explaining more, which is true, but he also expects students to do their homework in order to understand what he's attempting to explain. Overall he's an easy A if you do homework and don't be lazy.
I am not very good at math and this teacher only made it worse. He confuses students more than anything! Also he makes you feel stupid for asking questions. I wish he had more patients. His class consisted of him writing a question on the board and expecting students to do it without being taught. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Brennan is by far one of the worst teachers I have ever had the misfortune to come into contact with. I am relatively good at math, so I still got through the class ok. However, for the students who were actually learning the material for the first time (probably 95% of them), I don?t understand how they stayed in the course. Not only does this
He's not a bad teacher, he just expects you to do your homework, and THINK. If you're having trouble with the material don't hesitate to ask for help. I literally spent 2 hours plus some days after class making sure I got the material. If you take his class, don't hesitate to ask questions, or for help. He will do what he can to help you.
he can teach but it can get boring
If you are any kind of bad at math, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! He gets angry when the class doesn't ask questions, but gets even more frustrated when we do ask questions. He isn't easy to follow and is VERY BORING!
Mr Brennan is nice. However, if you ask a question he gets angry. So no one really asks questions due to this. He will make up every excuse for ehy you shouldn't have asked that question. Other than that he is ok. Better than other math teachers for this course.
He's a good math teacher. Just make sure you follow notes in class and keep up with MyMathLab. He's very clear and will draw everything out for you. Hedoesn't teach everything that's in the homework, however, which can be frustrating. He likes it when you ask questions so don't be afraid to if you're confused.
Brennan was the nicest most helpful teacher everrr! He teaches the material and if you dont go to class or make sure u understand the material thats a personal problem because he is more than willing to help after class and always helped me succeed. If he sees your putting in effort he helps you out on the tests. He has practice tests u can do too.
Mr. Brennen is a good teacher, not much structure. Gives homework on mymath lab. Some extra credit. Just don't ask him a question or else he bites your head off. Then is nice, then bites your head off. If you don't care about getting help during class- this is a good teacher, but if you can learn on your own- he's not that bad. He needs patience.
Absolutely does not like to help if you ask him questions. He has no patience
Although he's a very nice guy, I was unable to absorb anything in this class. He gives you the formula and then leaves you to it. I needed to know HOW to get to the answer.... no help there. I'm having to retake the class now.
Even though he might be a nice guy the first thing he told us in class was that this was his first time teaching this course & how much he hated teaching during a short semester. He might give examples but he goes from the problem to the answer and expects you to fill in the blanks. He has his favorites that he likes and the heck with everyone else
He is not a good teacher!! do not take his class
Average teacher. Many ppl complait about him. The truth is college math courses require WORK. Not a hard class, similar to intermediate algebra. The big difference is that you definitely will use your TI-83. He doesn't like questions, but u can ask him to solve some HW exercises at the beginning of the class. 4 multiple choice tests, LONG FINAL.
Good teacher very helpful, understood more in this class then in my previous class definitely recommended.
I took him for college algebra and recieved a 68 on his first exam because he didnt specify that a certian chapter would be on the exam. he is not a very good teacher and avoid taking him if you can. he makes you feel dumb if you ask him a question and if you dont ask questions he goes on a rant about "if youre not asking questions, you dont unders
All those comments under me are a lie he is a good professor, the reason why everyone fails is because they don't ask questions and ask for help, he's willing to help you at any time just ask he is very clear and breaks everything down to the simplest forms very recommended his test are worth a lot so make sure you stay on your studies
Late to class, Low lecture time(14min record set today), doesn't clarify what is needed for the class(miniterm),he does make you feel dumb. Btw you need the course pack, ti-83, and mathlab code. because I was in a 1028 mini prior I was able 2 comprehend 70% of everything off rip. Pluses? 6pnt bonus for 90%+ on test reviews. He's funny to laugh @
I tell you what- if it weren't for Mr. B I would never have gotten it! He really is very helpful and takes the time to help. He really cares about his students and he is the bomb when it comes to any Math. Study!!!! Half the people don't show up for class. Math lab awesome. Really helpful. Great guy. Great class. Would recommend. Study!!!
He is a good teacher but lazy to teach. He is not clear explaining for the classroom but it is helpful when you ask individually. Textbook was never used. The way he teaches is very disorganized and therefore hard to follow. He didnt even bothered to work some problems for final or tests! No questions, class is over sometimes after 20 minutes.
I listened intently to his lectures and asked questions. after 3 days I realized that his lectures were useless and I was teaching myself everything. He will put a problem on the board, make a few indirect statements about it, and ask YOU how to solve it without explaining anything. I'm an A student and I had to drop this class. Don't pick Brennan
Professor Brennan is not going to baby you. Wants you to learn to set you up for success in MAT1105. Will work with you one on one! Have questions you want to go over ready and know that he is not going to hold your hand. He is very very good at Math. Knows it inside and out. Really great teacher. Would recommend.
STAY AWAY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LEARN A THING. He is disorganized and will not let you ask questions whatsoever! You will only be teaching yourself with little help. STAY AWAY, find someone else.
He taught Calc 1 for the first time this summer. Rather than asking students to regurgitate material, he asked us understand it and be able to apply it when necessary. His exams came straight from the HW, which wasnt mandatory. Super helpful in office hours, good in class, too.Youll be a little independent, but it helps for calc2. A is def possible
in his defense I have to say, I was use to always having a teacher show me everything needed to understand math. He has a very different approach, and yes I HATED it at first, after a while it proved to help make me a stronger math student. I would take him again knowing his style, you just have to be self motivated to really do well in his class.
Mr. Brenan is a nice guy; however, his teaching style isn't for everyone! If you want the grade without the work, wrong teacher! Be sure to have your questions and anything you need help with before class because he "can't help you if you don't what you need help with." Overall, I learned and PASSED B+
MR.Brennan is really helpful, if you really need the help. He is not going to babysit you although he says to come to him if you need the extra help. He is chill and laid back and determined for you to understand and pass the class.
Mr. Brennan is very smart and helps you when you need it. I will give him that. However, he does get upset when you ask him questions. If you study and do the homework assignments, just like any class, you will pass.
Professor Brennan is a very nice and helpful professor. For the MAT1033 at Santa Fe, you have to do a Studio which I HATED and still do. However, when I needed help, Professor Brennan helped a lot, you just have to ask him. Math when thought this way is difficult but, after I went to his office hours, it became clearer to me. I'd recommend him
He tells you almost every day if you're having trouble in class to go see him and ask for help. He's a great professor and tries harder than any professor i've seen so far. Great teacher if you have to take this class.
Do not take him unless you are good at teaching the math yourself. His lessons are confusing and he messes up his own math all the time. He gets irritated when you ask questions, and I actually apply myself at school and still had trouble.
He is a very nice and helpful professor. If you are struggling with math you can go up to him after class or during his office hours and he will walk you through the steps of the problem easily.
This teacher has a hard time answering your questions straight up. He does not write out the steps, which is not helpful. You are basically on your own in this class. He offers help but if you don't understand him in class, he probably won't be much help outside of that.
I really liked professor Brennan. Every time I came in with a question, it was explained thoroughly. I will say that if you are a slacker or procrastinator, you won't like this teacher.
Mr. Brennan is one that definitely cares about your learning. However, it is a little hard to keep up with the class. If I studied more I would've definitely gotten a good grade. He is always at his office hours and is very willing to help.
I think he's a great teacher. If you actually take the time to talk to him about your grade he will definitely work with you. He'll give you second chances with tests and everything. People have no excuse to not pass this class. Most things are online. If you fail you're just lazy.
Mr. Brennan isn't a good professor; he didn't explain most things clearly and whenever a student asked a question he didn't ever seem to answer it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Without a doubt the worst teacher I've ever had. Tests were extremely unorganized and impossible to score well on. If you want to bring down your GPA I'd recommend this guy.
Snorlax. You're basically teaching yourself everything.
Mr. Brennan is a very smart man. He is a little soft spoken so if you can't hear very well, I would suggest sitting upfront. If you show up, pay attention, ask questions when you have them, and do your homework, you should have no trouble in this class.
He wasn't that great of a professor, but he is a decent guy.
He was a great math teacher. Made jokes and kept the class interesting. Very nice and helpful. He taught the lessons with good explanations and did examples until you understood it. Anything you need he will help you with it. I recommend taking him!
I tried to test out of intermediate algebra to go into college algebra. I didn't pass so I had to take intermediate. It was a very pleasant experience for me! Mr. Brennan's very nice, very easy going, enjoys helping students succeed in life, and overall the course was very easy. Keep up with the MyMathLab stuff and the material and you will pass!
This class was an extremely pleasant experience to me! Mr. Brennan's very nice, pretty easy going, enjoys helping his students succeed, and he's done a great job on structuring the class. Attendance is not mandatory for passfail, but it does count as a part of your grade. Keep up with the MyMathLab stuff and the material and you will pass!
Drags on and on about how we should already know this stuff, and how we need to ask questions if we are not getting it, but as soon as somebody does he never gives a clear cut response and then makes the student feel stupid. He skips steps when writing notes assuming we should know what he knows once again...
When I ask a question he gets agitated and says "your having problems with this"? and makes me feel like an idiot. I will give him no credit at all for helping me, I have gone to outside sources like Khan Academy and Youtube for help.
He doesn't think like a teacher. Since everything seems so simple to him, he can't even perceive how someone would have issues understanding the basic principles of calculus, and expects you to remember. He will demean you and make you feel terrible if you ask a question he thinks you shouldn't have to ask. find a better professor.
Do yourself a favor and please DO NOT take this guy. Im disappointed in myself for not listening to the comments i read about him. Everything that has been posted is exactly what the class is like. He is extremely sarcastic and rude. Anytime anyone asks a question he makes you feel stupid for asking and talks to you like you are below him!
I should of just taken this class online. I taught myself everything. He is the worst professor i have ever had. He is rude and treats you like you are nothing. Ive had to leave several times in the middle of class because i couldn't take his rude sarcastic remarks. In his mind you should come into the class already knowing all the material.
Overall he is a nice guy, but his lectures were very disorganized. It wasn't difficult material, but the way the class was taught made it confusing. I got an A, but I had to work hard for it. Tests were difficult to score well on.
Survey of Calculus (MAC2233) - One of the hardest and most confusing professors I've had. He teaches through material on the faster side(for material that can get confusing very quickly). He gets agitated quickly when the class as a whole gives no feedback to understanding the material or not. He does give you good amount time to complete homework.
This class is so easy. ask for help and he'll help you. He's pretty straight forward, if you're not doing what you're supposed to do then don't expect to pass. 2 lab hours/ week. pay attention in class, if you don't then you're pretty much screwed.
Kind of out of touch with how to reach students. Very soft spoken. Will practically beg students to ask questions, then tell them how bad of a question it was. Seems like a sweet guy, but if you need a math teacher who will keep you engaged, he's not the one.
Don't take this class! It was the worst experience ever. I had to teach myself everything. When you ask a question in his class, he'll make you feel dumb for asking it.
Nice man, hard class tho. If you must take him talk to him and use his office hours. Personally I had a hard time learning from his lectures. Offers make-up tests if needed. Next semester he said he is using a new homework site and will give out free resources instead of making you buy a book, so you may have an easier semester than me. good luck!
After class if you talk to him with a question already written down, he will clarify it for you. Don't ask him any other questions and you will be fine.
He was very nice and helpful but you must approach him. If you ask him for help he will. Class itself was a joke if you expect to be taught everything you have another thing coming. You are your own teacher because of the online MyMathLab program. Teachers walk around helping but the ratio is 1 -40 and everyone needs help.
Very unhelpful, seems like a good guy but he does not show too much interest to students.
Prof Brennan can get a bad rap but he is a good teacher, he has a PhD so he knows how to get you ready. Show up to class/labs, it counts towards your grade. He has office hours or go to the lab when he's there with another class. Bring specific questions and you'll get answers. ALL the instructors are stretched thin, thats why there are tutors!
Good teacher. Tests are impossible though.
Simply put, very well educated and caring man that lacks the ability to get on the students' level to help them understand the material. He asks over and over if everyone understands but when questions are asked, he acts as if he can't imagine why you can't grasp it. If you can be taught by the helps in MyMathLab then this class is doable for sure
Tries to be a good teacher, but he isn't always the best at explaining what he means. You need to show up, participate in class, and be ready for lots of homework. If you study and honestly try, the tests aren't that bad. Textbook isn't necessary, but it helps. Ask questions in class, and he will explain.
The other reviews are spot-on. He begs the class to ask questions and when you actually ask he makes you feel stupid for doing so. Even worse if no one speaks up he will just make a pop quiz out of the question. Sometimes the majority of the class says they don't understand and he still gives a pop quiz. Find a new prof or prepare to teach yourself
Disrespectful towards students who don't immediately grasp the material presented. Condescending when questions are asked. His explanation of the material is so poor that you might as well teach yourself.
WARNING!!! Please don't take this class its an absolute joke and he will belittle you, talk down to you, or make you seem stupid when you are not. Also, you can not ask questions in class or he will get mad and make faces like a child if it's easy to him. My class started with 32 people and now it is down to 10. Save yourself ...... Don't take him
Knows the topics well but terrible at explaining it. Rushes through lectures demanding us to ask questions. When you ask a question, he will get frustrated and tell you that you should know the answer from previous courses; if he answers your question he will explain it as if you were extremely stupid. If you don't ask questions he will quiz you.
Taking my first college math course, I found Professor Brennan to be very helpful and respectful. Because he did his lectures through the sequence of the textbook, Professor Brennan prepared the class for the upcoming tests. He allowed questions to be asked and kindly explained himself while respecting you. I request this guy.
Really nice guy, great person 1 on 1. Extremely helpful if he sees you are putting in a lot of effort. Overall, just a really hard class. I think there are definitely easier people to take this class with, but you will learn a lot from him if you do take him.
One of the worst professors I have had this year. He encourages his students to ask questions during lecture, but then shames them if he thinks they asked a stupid question. Not accessible at all. Tries to trick you on tests.
If you find math difficult and need a professor to take their time with you then don't take Brennan. He is rude and does not know how to present the material to students so they can learn and succeed. Do yourself a favor and find a different professor.
The material isn't difficult, but this professor make it so. He begs you to ask questions in class, but then acts as if he has no idea how you could not understand what he's saying. Problems will NOT be written out on the board. Your grade is not posted for you to see how you are doing- he just tells you to figure it out based off of your tests.
If you take this class, you better be prepared to do some learning on your own. I suggest getting with other students and doing so. He allows corrections on first test, but not on any others. If you do online webassign homework more than 48 hrs in advance, you can get up to a 110%. I would REALLY suggest not taking this prof. SHORT TEMPER!
DO NOT BOTHER. Hes a good guy but hes boring and isnt the best teacher. He also told our class ALL semester our final would be December 8th but IT was actually the 5th. The whole class missed it and he blamed us for not listening cause he said it was the 5th. We all had to retake it the 6th and all basically failed (we consulted together).
Professor Brennan is excellent. He isn't going to bore you during class with nonsense lectures. Instead, he's there to help you. He does a great job getting his students to understanding the material and he is going to make sure all of his students do fine. He's done so in the past and he'll do it again in the future.
Inflexible and demeaning. Gives no support so be ready to do the class yourself. Cuts a person down when you ask a question. He should not be teaching.
Do not take this class with victor unless you are already well-versed in mathematics. He does not want to help (although he thinks he does). barely passed his class with a C and I did everything I could for it. DO NOT take this professor. youve been warned.
Does not do lectures and expects you to know everything before you come to class. i do not recommend
He is a nice guy, but bad teacher. Does not actually teach you have to teach yourself by reading the text book and only go to class to ask questions if you need help. All homework on web assign and only other grades are 20 question exams.
He is absolutely horrible. On exams, he asks things you have never covered on the homework, quizzes, or worksheets. Tutors in the math lab have told me personally, that his exams seem like calc 1 or calc 2 questions. If you go to him for help, he will ridicule you and tell you to read the textbook. Their's a distinct pattern in the comments below
He was very like over us at the beginning of the semester. He always got aggravated when we asked questions or asked for help. A lot of the times he would get mad if we didn't ask for help and make us do problems to turn in.
Got an A on every homework assignment and quiz but still passed with a C. Went to office his office hours to ask for help and he simply made me feel dumb and told me to go read the textbook. Asked me "Why did I take the class if I didn't understand the information." .. wth .. Terrible professor don't take his class.
Great Professor! I would absolutely take him again. A lot of students misunderstand him and unfortunately, students give up and then blame him for their carelessness. he really cares about his students, he is truly awesome and if you are willing to do homework and ask questions in class you will have an easy A.
Awful teacher. Wants you to ask questions, and when you do he just blows you of "we've already went over it", or "you should know this already". If you have him for Mon, wed, and fri, go to studio days and you'll be fine because your basically just teaching yourself anyways.
I don't know why people say that he is horrible. He is a really good teacher. If you go to class and put some effort into the class you will have an A.
He's just an excellent human being.
Best math professor, he handled to COVID-19 pandemic very well, you will have a bunch of assignments on WebAssign but everything is clear and easy. He always responds to questions and emails really fast! I truly enjoyed taking this class even though I am not a math person
Brennan is the worst Professor I've ever had & I'm not just saying that. He flips through power points. Homework every single night, & the best part? None of it is like the tests. Their ancient & hard to read. Awful awful awful, don't take him if you don't want to fail & withdraw, have to pay back bright futures, & then retake it in the summer!!!!!
He goes through the power points quite quickly, not explaining much. The tests are mostly multiple choice, which is nice, but homework is not like the tests. He gets annoyed when we do not ask questions but explanations do not make sense. If you are good at math and are comfortable using a textbook to teach yourself then you may like his class.
If you're looking to get an F on your transcript, then this the class for you! Be ready to teach yourself everything, if you're not already a master at Calc then good luck. Not helpful, patronizing, and condescending. Wants you to ask questions but when you do, makes you feel stupid for not already knowing it.
This professor is very monotone and okay in teaching the lectures. The tests were easy but you do have to kinda teach yourself some things. The homework questions are sometimes a bit harder than tests but actually helped me pass the tests easier. If you get one wrong question on the test you still get a 100% from an extra credit question.
Doesn't deserve the bad ratings he has. He wants you to ask questions, is super understanding and is helpful after class. Tests are easy, he wants you to succeed, answers homework questions. He does move fast but that being said staying after class for 10 minutes you get his full undivided attention. Easy A
He would yell at my class for not asking questions but when we did ask questions he would make us feel so stupid and almost yell at us for not knowing something. The other day he got very worked up about a student asking a question and scared her. U have to teach yourself the last unit. He skips through slides and doesnt give u time to write notes.
If you are comfortable with math and grasped concepts from MAC1105 easily, I recommend taking him. Homework is VERY easy and he gave us lots of extensions on it. He gives you two opportunities to replace the lowest test scores. Ask questions and don't take it personally if he seems annoyed, that just who he is.
He's very monotone, but overall not a bad teacher. He is always willing to help and always responds fast after school. Sometimes I had to go out and learn on my own because what he taught wasn't clear or it was overcomplicated. There are three tests and he gives you the opportunity to replace your two lowest test scores.
Professor Brennan was an ok teacher that would explain a concept a few times but then expect you to already have it and be able to do it quickly. The homework was fairly easy if you understand the concepts. He dropped a couple homework and test grades which was nice.
He is a suuuper nice person. Very understanding. He does give a lot of homework, but overall the homework is only worth 10 % of the grade after all, so it doesnt matter if you miss some. The quizzes are litterally the SAME THING as the study quizes he gives (but with different numbers). 1/2
Therefore if you do good on the study quiz you will do the same on the test. He is not a tough grader, and always gives extra points on tests for the work done. I didnt do soo good on my grade but i am honestly very lazy and could have studied more jajajajaja. But he is a great teacher. 2/2
Definitely recommend..easiest math course I've taken. Clear hw/quiz schedule (all hw/quiz/test on canvas), scheduled time to work on hw in class so he can help. Great lectures/notes. Accommodating, eager to help, and sweet guy.
The structure of this class is that the prof will briefly cover the topics of the unit in class then the class moves to the math lab to do their homework/quizzes. You MUST take the initiative and ask questions or it will be assumed the prof can move on. This is true of any 1033 class. Prof. Brennen is super sweet and helpful if you ask for help!
Professor Brennan is a pretty good professor. He sticks to the examples in the textbook and bases tests off of it, resulting in fairly simple tests. He was very willing to stay around after class to answer any questions. I would recommend him to those who might need someone with more patience and accessibility.
Victor is probably the worst Professor I have ever had. Goes extremely fast and only goes over each topic once. He also gets mad when people don't ask questions. Unfortunately, he seems like a nice guy, but if you care about your grade and education, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Whatever you do, do not take his class! He only goes over each section one time and then sends you away for someone else to help you. STAY AWAY!
Dont take math with this professor. His lectures are not helpful at all and when you ask questions he puts you on the spot and never actually answers them. The homework isn't too much, just 2-4 assignments a week but when you don't know how to do it, it's terrible. I've had to learn this material 95% on my own. Seems nice, but not good at teaching
Seems tired of teaching, and will wait for questions to be asked during class, but when you ask questions he makes snarky remarks. Asked a couple of questions in class, but didn't answer my questions just made me feel unintelligent for even bothering him. Material can be difficult to understand in a few lessons and he doesn't explain very well.
Professor Brennan is a very kind and caring teacher. He wants to help you and see you succeed so ask questions and utilize your time in the studio well!
Professor Brennan has a specific teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class can be manageable. The lectures and in-class work sessions are helpful, and Unstuck ai can be a great study tool alongside the textbook. Overall, a decent math course.
He doesn't really teach you the material, he just goes through the slides and expects us to know everything. When we ask him a question he sighs when he has to get up from his chair and stand for more than 5 minutes. Gives a week for homework but its hard to do since he doesn't teach the material. Get ready to learn the stuff yourself if you plan.
I'm typically a straight-A student, but this is by far the worst teacher I've ever had. Initially, I dismissed the negative reviews, assuming they were just from students struggling with a challenging class, but I was wrong. He mostly reads straight from the textbook and when you ask questions he treats you as though you're completely incompetent.
Do.Not.Take.This.Professor. He is demeaning to every student and laughs if you have any questions, but then gets mad when you do ask one. 3 heavy weighted exam with 1 makeup. I am usually an A student and had a C the whole semester. Managed to get it to a B with the Final. I learned this course by myself on my own because he does he doesn't teach.
AWFUL PROFESSOR, 0/10. He basically made fun of you if you didn't know the material in class. He just seems like he doesn't want to teach anymore. Not flexible at all. Stay away from this man at all costs. Going to class felt useless because if you didn't know how to do something he wouldn't even go over it he would just say "you need to know this"
Seems like a nice guy but I don't think he should be teaching people. He was very quiet during lectures and did a poor job at explaining simple concepts. He can be helpful if you ask him questions 1 on 1, but the lectures were confusing and he made fun of people for asking questions.
Incoming students please read!!!!. Professor Brennnan seems kind and caring, but teaching is just not something I believe he should be doing. He goes extremely fast on already difficult concepts, he believes we should know the material, then scoffs at questions. Also when the class is too timid to ask a question he becomes irritated! Never again!!
Doesn't help much or answer questions fully.
I would seriously caution anyone from signing up for Prof Brennan. Bro goes straight to the power point and goes incredibly fast with little explanation (don't ask for explanation he'll laugh or get frustrated). Worst of all is going home with the weigh of all your other classes, and then seeing each of his assignments are 30+ questions long.
Very quiet and hard to understand speaker. If you want to pass you must find another way to learn the material. Constantly urged us to ask questions, except that when I did he would be pretty mean about it. Avoid him if you can.
Good professor. Just make sure to sit at the front since he is a quiet speaker. For Survey Calc 1, Homework is worth 15%, and is very easy. You have 3 tests (with an optional 4th) and they are worth 45% total. Extra credit is very generous, and lowest test grade gets dropped. The final exam is worth 25%. If you study well, this should be an easy A.
You will get a good grade if you pay attention, come to class and read the book online before class. He is nice, funny and responsive. Pros: plenty extra credit opportunities if you go to class, easy assignments, and available outside of class. Cons: clearer grading criteria for short-response questions. I would definitely take his class again.
PLEASE READ. I have never met a more difficult professor. He got mad when we didn't ask questions, but when we would find the courage to ask them, he would get irritated and borderline make fun of us. No test study guides. tried to go to his office hours, but he laughed at me for not understanding the material. Also, don't get sick, HE DONT CARE.
