Utterly useless in breadth, motivation, and preparation. Nice personally, but his version of 22m:50 will do nothing towards understanding or attempting higher algebra, and his tests are easy to the point of insult (finding GCD, counting things...)

The lectures are terrible. He can be funny, but what a waste of time. The discussion groups are good, but the lectures are awful. Not a hard class if you make it to the discussion section.
Camillo is a nice guy but the worst math teacher I have ever been subjected to. At the beginning of the semester there were easily 500 students at lecture. Now I would guess a maximum of 50 show up. Usually less. Discussion groups a great however.
This professor is very confused. Messes up problems, and has pointless lectures. You could read the book, never go to class, and still get an A. If you have this professor and want to learn something - I guarentee you won't.
Dr. Camillo is a true intellectual, appreciative of the value of breadth in education, though he is a mathematician by profession. His pedagogical style is open minded, terse, whimsical, tolerant, humanistic. A rare gem.
He is a nice teacher who makes funny jokes once in a while. I don't think that the lectures actually help people to understand the material.
Pretty hard to understand, but a funny guy.
Dr. Camillo is a true husk, appreciative of the value of dearth in education, though he is a mathematician by profession. His pedagogical style is loony, meandering, laughable, condescending, pathetic. An all too common waste of food.
He is difficult to understand and very unorganized.
Lectures are worthless! He rambles and mumbles. Only go if you want the attendance points otherwise he will just confuse you.
I'm fairly sure he's a great mathematician and researcher, and just lectures because he has to for some reason or another. Funny guy, although he has some kind...well, some kind of fungus on his hands. It was all over his thumb when he did stuff on the magnifying projector.
The material is pretty difficult, but the lectures are pretty funny. Hes a cool guy. If you need to take Calc for a major, try to get him.
Good 'ol Vic has admitted to not even liking math. The man loves music and going off on tangeants but when it comes to math he makes more mistakes than I do. How am I supposed to learn when he himself doesnt know whats going on?
Vic is down to earth, true to his students and his career. He has a rare combination of talents: a philosopher-mathematician. Geez, give the guy a break...he is smarter than you...you should at least have the decency to not write about those you do not understand. Too bad keyboards are available to typing-prone idiots.
Worst professor!!!! If you want to learn math do not ever take his class.
An excellent teacher and a really nice guy. The class was a little beyond me at first -- I was the only student who was not a grad student or a math major -- but he gave me some extra help, and I left with an 'A' and a strong understanding of what turned out to be a fascinating subject. I'm forever grateful to Prof. Camillo. Highly recommended.
Not bad. He is fairly easy on the grading but is sometimes unclear on what hes trying to teach.
This guy was cool, but he couldn't teach. He constantly had chalk on his face and clothes. I'm not sure he owns a comb and he had a fungus nail. His tests were cumbersome. He was a fan of elimidate tho, and thats cool cuz I like to bowl.
Totally clueless. There were times when it seemed like he was learning the material with us. Often just copies exactly whats in the textbook (sometimes word for word). However, still a nice guy with a good sense of humor. Can be charming despite his lack of teaching skills.
he is terrible. get a different prof.
Always lost, confused, and unorganized but m fav prof i'll pry ever have. I switched from Kirk and him and best choice I have ever made. Both are confusing but Camillo is funny as hell ad makes the time go by quick. I recommend the twice a week for 2 hours long class. (Class never goes longer than 1 hour)
okay he's not a good lecturer at all, but he makes them fun. time passes fast because of his humor and he always turned on the tv or dvd player on accident. he is helpful out of class tho and a nice guy all around. good stories too so he can get sidetracked (double edged sword). i got a c with no prior calc exp. ppl with calc exp got an a or b.
Very funny, great stories. Not interested in his teaching and tends to not finish problems or properly explain them.

Frequent mistakes when doing problems on the board. Even one of the tests had wrong answers! Always late for class and once forgot to even show up! A super nice guy, but a seemingly uninterested teacher.
Horrible teacher. Often made mistakes and used too much time joking around instead of teaching math. Never learned anything in class. He was too busy proving stuff instead of showing us actual problems. Most problems came from the book - probably could have done a better job teaching myself.
class is cake, clowns on chi-town. tests are composed of lecture and textbook problems. overall decent guy
This class is a joke. Don't have to do any homework, as long as you go to lecture at least once a week and your discussion section. You will learn twice as much from your TA as Camillo but he is highly entertaining.
Camillo is something else. He seems like a cool guy to hang out with, but his interest in teaching math seems kind of low. Still, he goes through problems out of the textbook and bases alot of his test questions on them. Funny guy though if you get his jokes. At random times will teach class while wearing his sunglasses.
Makes many mistakes in class and on tests; don't be afraid to correct him! I never attended class after the first couple weeks cause all test questions are from homework and he doesn't change the tests from each semester. So if you can get a hold of a past test you'll ace it!
Camillo is a decent guy. Not the best Calculus teacher. He admits he hates teaching it, and would rather do other things. This is a teach-it-yourself course. He makes a lot of mistakes in the lecture (he's thankfully gracious about corrections), but is generally a funny guy. Which is bad, as he gets really sidetracked and you don't learn crap.
Impossible to learn from if you have no prior calc experience. Does not spend much time explaining things, and goes off on random stories all the time. Told us several times that he doesn't like teaching calc and hopes he doesn't have to next semester. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Horrible, goes off on random stories, seems to hate what he does. Impossible to understand what he is trying to teach you because he SUCKS!
Camillo is horrible at explaining things, I didn't learn anything from him. He makes lots of mistakes. He's crabby and acts like you're wasting his time when you go ask him for help. I learned everything from my TA in discussion.
The socle is essential!
Camillo is a nice guy. His exams are easy and straight forward if you read over lecture notes. He takes questions straight from the homework and lecture. He really likes the show "House" and makes many doctor references which are quite funny. Overall his class is easy.
If you have no prior calculus experience entering this class Camilo will teach you nothing. He talks in circles repeating the same things consistenetly and goes off on random tangents. Wouldnt reccomend him to anyone
omg worst teacher ever so confusing
Dude was terrible. If you've never taken calculus before then good luck, because you won't learn it with him.
Not a terrible class because I had taken Calculus in high school. If you have not taken calculus it will be very difficult to learn from Vic. He's terrible and teaching the material, but good at reviwin it if you've already learned it. Nice guy too
I learned everything from my TA. I skipped lectures for a month, and just learned from my TA. He rambles about sports and House, and a bad teacher, but he's amusing at times and a nice guy.
Fun professor. Likes to crack jokes at Chicago sports teams. Must attend lecture, he puts exact problems done in class on exams. If you had calc in high school, you're golden in this class. He will try to trick you on exam, so know what you're doing!
Because I took Calc in high school, this class was really easy. If i hadn't I would've been screwed. He is an awful teacher. Going to lecture only confused me on the simplest stuff. Plus a TA that didn't speak english, it could have been very bad if I didn't have a good grasp on Calc. Do not take him if you can avoid it.
Easily the worst teacher I have ever had. His most of my friends could explain his rubbish better than he can. He doesn't explain anything during lectures. Teaching yourself is the only option for success.
It almost made me more confused when I would go to lectures. He's a funny and nice guy but is awful at explaining the material
Horrible professor. he can Not teach to save his life. Less than 30% came to his lectures. If you have taken calc before, or are doing OK self studying, don't even bother to come. His tests are "easy" but he tries to bring in completely unnecessary things (like basing a q. on changing m^2 to ft^2 when it adds nothing to the problem)
this teacher is one of the few teachers that i can say i know more than. please please please do not go to his lectures, the book will teach you more than he will. his voice is enough to put you to sleep and i find myself doing that quite often. red sunglasses.
He's a nice enough guy but a terrible teacher. I had a good TA for this class and he saved me, otherwise you're screwed trying to learn calculus from this class. Even the TAs seemed confused about whether the weekly quizes were graded and even what was going on in class. Homework was not graded.
A really underated professor. Really helpful, however, the exams were too easy.
Encouraging, helpful n approachable. Very easy class IF you're clear on the pre-calc concepts. HW not graded but serves as a good practice. Probably not the best at communicating ideas but he will try his best to answer your questions. Tests- easy. Practice exam and in-class examples-important. Cool guy, loves talking about Chicago Sports Team!
I agree Vic is an underrated professor. He made Calculus fun, challenging and left me wanting to learn more. His tests can be a bit on the easy side, but they are still challenging. This is a class you will do really well or really badly in. To do well you need to be really good at algebra and taking pre-calc first is a very good idea.
Lectures end up having about a 30% attendance rate, even my RA told me not to go. Good guy but very poor at teaching math.
Professor has good intentions, but I was unable to understand what points he was trying to make during lectures, TA's were as (or even more) confused than the students, grading system has many grey areas. Basically, if you don't already know the information, you're going to have a rough time learning in the classroom.
Started skipping lecture after the second week. He is extremely scatter brained - sometimes you understand his thought process but he makes a lot of mistakes and overall made me confused. His other resources - MyMathLab, practice exams, review sessions and the textbook can be really helpful. Honestly if you have a good TA you can do well.
I stopped going to lecture after a week. He's scatter-brained & messes up a lot when introducing new topics. Just go to discussion instead! I bombed my first exam (stupid mistakes) & talked to Vic and he was very helpful. He really takes into consideration overall proof of learning- homework, quizzes, & TA recommendation, not just exam scores.
Tries to be funny and loves to joke around. Class attendance is low because lecture topics stray drastically and can be confusing. He writes everything out on the board in messy cursive. Students with prior experience with calculus did better than those without. Attendance at discussion is essential. Tests just on the basics, not super specific.
Was quite an interesting man, however, lectures can drag on. He writes his lectures in sentence form and quite confusing if you have never taken calc before. Also, not many people showed up to his lectures. If you want to pass his class pay attention in discussion and do the practice exams and the questions are almost identical to the real exams.
The class was easy enough. Lectures were an absolute joke. He would barely teach and always go off on tangents, my favorite being "the sqrt 3 1.732. Oh that reminds me, did you know Thomas Jefferson who was born in 1732 was the first president to wear shoelaces?" He wasn't born in 1732, he didn't wear shoelaces. please stick to math Prof. Camillo
If you want to learn during lectures you better pick a different professor. If you want a teacher that believes that he used to be best friends with Thomas Jefferson then this is the guy for you. Hope that you get a good TA for your discussion section because that is the only place that you will learn the material. Went to class just to laugh.
Vic's a good guy. He goes kinda fast thru the lecture but if you work hard by studying the practice exams and visiting his office hours if you have have questions I guarantee it will pay off. Also, lots of Jay Cutler & Chicago sports jokes.
Vic is a unique guy with lots to say... about anything but what he is teaching. He is very witty and entertaining to listen to, but I would not go to lecture expecting to learn a lot. I took his class first semester and did not attend a lecture after the week of Halloween and still received an A.
Does not explain the material at all. He works out problems in class, but never explains the concept. If you take his class, you will be teaching yourself the material
He's a really caring man, you have to learn the material on your own time though.
Had Camillo for Clac for Business online (there was a lecture but they were recorded and you could watch them online). His handwriting is my biggest complaint. You cannot read what he writes very well. I love that he doesn't make quizzes required and there is 0 homework. So if you're confident in your ability to learn derivatives take him.
Great teacher, awesome guy. In general the best math teacher I have had in college thus far.
basically camillo is a nice guy that makes lame jokes, but he is a terrible teacher. If you get a good TA and can teach yourself from the mymathlab/textbook, you'll do good, but don't expect much from his lectures except some (low) quality jokes.
If you have not taken high school calculus; this will be hard. It is very hard to follow his lectures, but he does have some good tidbits. Lectures are humorous and decently empty. Homework is easy and tests are easy if you use the practice tests to study. Not challenging if you have high school calc experience.
He makes a lot of jokes and anyone could honestly pass the class without going to lecture even once
If you have not taken calculus in high school it will be very difficult and require a lot of studying and practice on your end to be successful. His lectures are extremely difficult to follow and he skips around a lot. When teaching a new concept he almost always starts with a difficult example. If you've taken calc before, you'll be just fine.
He write everything he says in class illegibly on an overhead, which he then posts. Not like that helps. The only reason I went to class half the time was for the fight song or his jokes. I really needed a good professor for this class since I didn't take calc in high school, and I certainly did not get one.
Gives wrong examples and makes a lot of mistakes on his examples
Amazing Professor. He hands writes his lecture notes and gives examples along the way for reference for exams. Always available during office hours for any help needed. Hard class, but he is a great teacher that will help make it easier. Really cares and wants his students to succeed. Highly recommend!
He's a funny and engaging professor who's not the best at explaining the concepts. His written examples are great once you understand what you're doing, but I had to get friends' help to understand the actual concepts before his examples became useful. He cares that his students understand it though, and he's available outside of class.
He good
Reason I go to every lecture? The man is a comedian. Taken calc before? Then you're fine.
I got a B without going to lecture once all semester. The lectures truly are worthless. If you have a good TA, stick to discussion and doing practice on your own. Extremely disorganized course.
Camillo's Calculus I class was extremely easy. Not the greatest if you are looking to move onto higher math but for someone who just needs calculus I or II is a very easy A. If coming in with a background in Calculus from high school majority of people could not attend any lectures and easily get a B or higher in class.
Just an absolutely terrible teacher.. You can go the entire year without going to a single lecture and you will be fine. If you want a good laugh or a place you can take a nap his lecture is right for you but as for learning calculus, just go to your TA.
Professor Camillo is a joke. He is very unorganized in his note, hard to understand, and treats lectures as a joke. I stopped going after a month and ended up with an A. Just go to discussions and you will be fine. Don't waste your time going to his lectures.
Professor Camillo is an awesome person, makes the best jokes and loves to talk about baseball. While this is wonderful, his lectures are mostly challenging examples written out on copy paper that are hard to read from the lecture screen. If you need a few simple examples I would suggest SI or tutoring because you probably wont get them from Vic.
I look this class straight out of high school. I had no calc experiences before. It was alot of hard work, but received an A. His lectures are honestly not that great though. His examples are sloppy and often makes mistakes. HOWEVER, he is very sweet and available during office hours. Go to your discussion section! It will save your life.
Just no! The math department needs a makeover and this starts with camillo! The class isn't difficult, but if you have never taken a calculus class before, it will be more challenging. He won't teach you a thing.
funniest professor. made class fun.
Each exam taken with Victor had some kind of mistake or error. Grade is determined by 4 exams. During the exams he allows everyone to leave randomly to go to the bathroom, didn't really care if people were talking during it. So take advantage of that, exams are exactly like the practice exams. Like exactly, so memorize and learn those.
Funny guy, terrible professor
pretty much need to have a background in calculus to do well. don't count on his lectures to make sense unless you have prepared. weekly quizzes in discussion so can't skip those. hardly anyone showed up to his lectures as the semester progressed.
Felt like nothing was ever accomplished during lectures. I took calc before I came here and still struggled in this class. Not a very good teacher, but funny guy. Wish he was as good at teaching math as he was making jokes about engineers. Try to get a different professor, especially if you've never taken calculus before.
Do not attend this man's lecture. It is completely pointless. Save your time and just go to discussion.
If you're taking calc for bus, take it with victor. All tests are open book and open note and he gives out similar practice tests to the real tests. He's not the best actual teacher but hes not awful and his class is set up much easier than the bigger calc for bus classes. your grade is determined by 4 tests but your quiz scores can help at the end
Don't get me wrong, Vic is really a great guy. He's just not a great professor. You'll definitely pass with flying colors if you took calculus in high school. If you have not, be sure to study hard and to utilize the amazing TAs that run the discussion sessions. Most effective way to study- use practice exams; the ones you'll take are very similar.
There's literally no point in watching his lectures, they make no sense and it's impossible to follow along. Go to the math lab and get help from the tutors there. Don't only rely on the practice exams he gives, they're helpful but he also throws curve balls. Be prepared for anything. Great guy though and very funny though
Vic is an interesting guy. He's very nice, but a little shaky in teaching. He just seems to struggle in explaining what he is thinking, especially in some of the more difficult aspects of the class. You'll learn a lot from the TA's so I wouldn't worry too much, and high school calc experience will be very helpful.
Vic is a really nice guy. He may not be considered the best professor, but isn't nearly as bad as everyone is making him out to be. If you're even halfway decent at math, you'll be fine in his class. He does helpful practice problems during lecture and his practice tests are almost identical to the exams.
Had tried AP Calc in high school, drowned quickly. Had his Calc class my first semester and flew through. Vic's a really nice guy, and VERY understanding if you talk to him. The class goes nicely if you actually pay attention in lecture. Having a good TA does wonders too. He even canceled class the day the Cubs won the World Series, just because!
I only go to his lectures so I know what section and chapter we are learning. The lecture is pointless otherwise. He does not seem to know how tonexplain things and his thought process on how to get the right answer. He goes off on tangents too. Go to discussion and do all the practice exams. I am in his class now and I am teaching myself.
Victor truly accommodates for students because he wants to see you succeed, he has done that countless times for me this semester. If you are looking for Calculus credit and you can understand the basic fundamentals algebra/are willing to put in a few extra hours studying practice exams, this class wont prove to be too hard for you.
If you have taken calc BC or even AB in highschool and you can learn easily, i HIGHLY recommend taking this course. As long as you can do his previous exams that he posts, tests will be very very easy. Barely any hw and you get unlimited try's! if you havent had any exposure to calc, do NOT take this course unless you prefer teaching yourself calc
I went to class for the first half of the semester and got a really awful grade on the first exam. The second half of the semester, I stopped going to lecture and got a better grade on the rest of my exams. That said, the course itself isn't terrible, just go to discussion and SI and you'll be fine. (I didn't go to SI, thus my grade.)
He has a good heart but should have retired 10 years ago. If you took Calc in high school, you will be fine. If you did not, hope for a good TA.
His lectures were confusing and a waste of time because he can't remember such simple details, and I succeeded better in the class by doing textbook work on my own and going to my TA. The only upside to Victor being 20 years past retirement; compared to my friends who had a different calculus professor, Victor's calculus was 10x easier.
Lectures were incoherent
The class is lecture heavy but he often makes mistakes and emails to fix it. There was an error on an exam once (which are open book, open note, and not proctored this might change). He's a nice person. Pretty accommodating if you have issues on MathXL or ICON. Office hours are hit or miss, but a good TA helps. I'm mostly teaching myself.
Lectures are incredibly heavy as well as confusing. He often uses incorrect math during his lectures and will email later in the day to correct himself. Quizzes and homework are all over the place and its hard to know what is due and when.
This online semester has been horrible. We have been lucky to have 20 question exams with plenty of time, unproctored. If it wasn't for that I would probably be doing horrible in this class. The professor is unaccesable. Idk when/if he has office hours. His lectures and homework do not go along with the online text book. Very unorganized.
He seems like a really good guy, but his teaching style is hard to follow. He teaches purely through examples and he makes lots of mistakes in lectures which makes it hard. If you know math, its pretty easy but the lectures make it stressful. The most helpful thing for me was going to the discussions- I learned the most in those.
He is terrible. He doesnt know what he is doing and his lectures are confusing. Never take this class.
In terms of the class itself it's very easy because it's the same material you learn in college algebra. The professor though is very disorganized, hard to follow in lecture, usually teaches by example and not about how to actually do the problems. I usually look forward to discussion because its taught by a student who can teach much more clearly.
Doesn't make good use of lecture time, can be very confusing to understand
Would give this guy zero stars if I could. Absolutely terrible class, the lectures are an awful use of time. I didnt learn a single thing in any of the lectures because he is so incapable of actually teaching. Grades on icon are never correct. Makes more typos and mistakes on exams than one would think possible. Worst experience Ive had in awhile
He seems like a sweet person, but the lectures for this class were painful. Teaches solely through examples and is very unclear and unorganized. The topics themselves aren't super difficult for the most part, but if you aren't great at math to begin with, I would recommend skipping the lectures and following along in the textbook and doing the hw.
Sweet man that really cares about education, but just needs to retire already. Lectures often made things more confusing. I stopped attending them after Week Seven. As long as you have a good student TA and you attend both discussions, you'll be more than okay. The material itself is easy enough- Dr. Camilo just can't teach.
hes trying i think, but honestly i dont think he knows what he is doing with zoom. lectures are not that important because they are very hard to follow. he doesnt give information about what page he is on in the textbook when doing practice problems and doesnt really make homework announcements. hopefully u have a good TA or can teach urself.
This guy cannot teach. His only method of teaching is to write out example after example, but the kicker is, sometimes they are simply wrong or the handwriting is so bad you cant read what is going on anyway. Sometimes the exams have no correct answer or no question actually asked. Impossible to get in contact with. 0/10
If you can, try not to get Victor as a professor. He is a nice guy who clearly likes to teach but he cannot teach at all online. He can only get through about 2-3 problems the whole 50 min class period. He messes up his work a lot and it is confusing. I think its time for Victor to retire, I don't think he understands how to work online.
Victor seems like a nice guy but he just doesn't know how to teach. He will only use example problems which aren't helpful when you need to know how to actually solve it.
Victor is obviously a very nice guy, just does not teach very well. My TA and teaching myself the homework is what got me through the semester. His handwriting is very hard to read. At least 1 problem on every practice exam had the wrong answer circled. One of the nicest professors I've ever had, just probably should not be teaching anymore.
I don't know how this man is still allowed to teach. Be prepared to be consistently confused during lecture, confused with your grade, and confused by your TAs in discussion since he doesn't communicate with any of them. This course is mostly online and Victor doesn't understand how to manage any online platform. Your teaching yourself math here.
Lectures are useless, don't even bother going unless there's a quiz. Frequently makes mistakes in the lecture notes and students correct him at least once a class. Just read the textbook and try to read through his notes on the class page (if possible, as they're barely legible). He's funny and a nice guy, but probably shouldn't be teaching.
Pretty inefficient with class time, he doesn't explain topics in simple terms, and leaves out some information. If you're in his class, expect to have to use Google and The Organic Chemistry Tutor in the beginning at least. Only plus of his class is that he won't give you difficult numbers to work with on quizzes and tests.
Victor seems like a really nice guy, he seems to care about his students, and seems to enjoy teaching. But I think he's to old to be teaching anymore and its ultimately it's costing students. His lecutres were often unfollowable and confusing. I wish the best for Victor as a person, but he needs to stop teaching, as he's doing a terrible job of it.
Horrible at lecturing
He was the worst professor I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE MATH IV WITH HIM!!!!!! He doesn't know what he is doing and tells us that, and then doesn't know how to help if you ask questions. He started bringing pre-written notes to class and then just reading line to line instead of doing a problem because he frequently made so many errors.
He struggles to keep up with what is going on in the class and does not tell the students if there is homework, quizzes, etc, cuz he doesn't know when. The only reason you should go to class is if there is a quiz. He's a good person and tries his best, but his lectures are hard to follow as he doesn't explain what he is doing or why he is doing it.
The lectures are not very helpful, but the textbook is useful. Attend class only if there are quizzes. The professor can make mistakes, so it's best to double-check the notes. Use resources like the textbook and Unstuck ai to prepare for this class.
Victor is a very nice guy, but made this class much harder. His lectures were unclear and lacked any communication on what he was doing. He often messes up and does not communicate via email and makes lectures feel like a chore. Do not need to attend to pass the class, the discussions help but I felt like I taught myself the whole course.
I felt like I lost knowledge attending his lectures. No need to go to lectures, the TAs have to reteach everything anyway. He seems like a nice person, but he does not know how to do calculus. He doesn't know what is going on in the course at all. Shout out to the amazing TAs who have to pick up so much slack!!
Lectures you didn't have to attend because there are no in-class questions. Lectures are very hard to understand unless you already know what you're doing. You don't have to attend the discussion, but only on quiz days, which are Thursdays. Overall, I would recommend taking this class online through a community college.
I love math and am usually pretty decent at it, but this class was horrible. Could not understand what he was trying to say and didn't explain what he was doing. The tests are also like 25 questions (but they are multiple choice) so there's not a lot of room to make mistakes. Would not recommend him at all unless.
Camillo should not be a professor anymore, plain and simple. He cannot teach in any capacity, a majority of the class (at least out of the 5 that actually showed up in a 23 person class) just spent the lectures going through the textbook themselves because that was the only way you could actually learn anything. Do NOT take a class with him.
Professor Camillo seems like a genuinely nice guy, and he tries to be funny. However, his skills with technology are not great, which makes ICON and lectures sooooo painful. This class was not difficult, which I why I was able to obtain a decent grade, but I cannot imagine taking a higher level course with him. Do not reccomend.
Worst teacher I've ever had in my life, hands down. Terrible at lecturing. He would constantly make errors in his notes, forget his hearing aid, and strictly "teach" (copy down) with example problems. Lectures for Math 4 were horrendous, in turn making the class much harder than it should've been. I can't see any reason why he is still teaching.
Victor Camillo is just old and out of it. Your experience will most likely be worse than mine, and I felt like my education struggled purely because of him as a professor. He is funny and I have nothing against him as a person, but he is not a quality teacher anymore, the guy is insanely smart but out of his prime.
Lectures for this course were nothing more than him showing up and copying his worked through textbook problems without explaining anything. Don't expect him to tell you when you need to do the homework, online quizzes, or when an upcoming midterm is. If you find yourself taking this class with him expect to do a lot of self teaching.
Quite possibly the worst professor known on campus, due to his old age. Quite sad he's still teaching, when constantly he would remind us that his wife was in the hospital, and couldn't hear a student sitting legit 2 feet away from him. It felt like watching a dying horse everyday, truly just out of his prime. His time here at Iowa needs to be cut.
