hes a new teacher, but he's pretty good. Unlike all a lot of the teachers at De Anza, you can actually understand him during his lectures. He's a nice and funny guy, occasionally he'll crack a joke. HW doesn't go towards your grade, and on tests you are allowed to use an index card. He is very easy, and not strict at all
mr. legge is the best teacher!! if you really want to learn math, he is the teacher to take. he gives you all kinds of tips and has tutoring time after class. he provides plenty of help so you can pass. he isnt a boring teacher either. he cracks a lot of jokes if u have a sense of humor you will laugh!! great teacher
He is good, funny, and kind. He is willing to help, and we get extra credit from collecting homework before due date.He also let us to take a 4'*6' card on midterm. I like him!!!^_^
Just took him and he's not that bad. He has a quiz EVERY friday. Quizes are 2-3 questions, worth about 20 points/quiz. You SHOULD DO YOUR HOMEWORK. He collects them every week, so if you need time, there's plenty. Very enthusiastic guy. Midterms can be a bit tricky. I got a B in the class. i missed a midterm, Let's final replace lowest midterm.
Really good teacher, if you dont understand he will try to help you as much as possible. Really funny teacher, he makes the class really relaxing. The homework is not too long its short, and he gives u a week to do them. The mid term is okay, but quizes are usually easy, I suggest you do the homework to underestand it.
hes a good techer, but he teaches kind of fast. if u take him u will need to study hard.
legge's class is easy. he doesnt explain himself well, and asking questions is useless cause he will laugh and make you feel stupid. if you want to do good on your test, just show all your work, and you will get many points even though your answer is incorrect. he gives homework which is due the next wednesday of the following week. simple class.
Extremely generous on points. Your attempt on a problem definitely matters because even if you get it wrong, he'll still give you some credit for it. Homework is due in a week, so it gives you plenty of time to do it (or procrastinate). Mr. Legge has an energetic personality, so be prepared! Definitely one of the better instructors!
Mr. Legge is a very kind teacher. His grading is very easy because he believes in effort more than having just the correct answer. He does take attendance, so go to class. He let you use a 4x6 on midterms, so take advantage of it. you will definitely learn in his class so take him!
Mr. Legge is a GREAT teacher. He brings humor to a dead 7:30am math class. Come to class, pay attention, and you should be fine. Mr. Legge will always be there to help you if you just ask. He is a fair grader and explains everything well. Take his class ! He makes math fun and easy, he'll even through in life lessons too
MR. LEGGE iS THE BEST TEAHCER!! ATTENDANCE iS VERY iMPORTANT iN HiS CLASS!! HE REALLY KN0WS H0W T0 TEACH! & HE's ALWAYS THERE T0 HELP Y0U. TAKE His CLASS!!
I took math 11 in summer 2009. It only took about 6 weeks to finish the whold chapters. in the beginning of the class was easy, but it's getting hard til the end. Final would include the whole ch which he taught, it was hard. But if u had good attendence and doing good in ur HW, Midterms, and Quizzes, Final is not that important.
Mr. Legge is one of the best math teachers i've ever had. I HATE math. HATE. He really cares about his students, & sometimes it may come off as naggy, he really cares about how you're doing in his class. highly suggest! but I do add that you HAVE to do your homework & study!
lovelovelove mr. legge. he's really helpful and really does care about his students. this is my second time taking this class because my previous professor sucked so badly. hmk and attendance are mandatory but that's a good thing because you are forced to learn. he's a fairly easy grader. he will give partial credit even on wrong answers. take him!
Really cute older man. He has a english accent, but he is not hard to understand. Always makes jokes, but gets the job done! I am sooooooo bad at math but he made it understandable, as well as helps to give you a great foundation.
Nice guy but tends to go off topic. He's organize and gives you a handout of what to expect and all the test dates and hw due dates. Quizes at least 2x a week. 3 midterm and 1 final. Quizes are EASY! Midterms are HARD and tricky. Will help you if you ask for help. He wants to help his students.
Mr. Legge is a wonderful teacher. he has a very cute British accent, but its not annoying, u can understand perfectly what he is trying to say. his tests are not very hard. just ask for help when u need it. he is a really nice sweet little old guy.
He's a good math teacher and he's really funny! Even though there was a good amount of quizzes and hwk, it helped a lot! He is also VERY organized, usually gets your work back to you the next class meeting. If your not that good at math, take him!
He is really helpful, but you get out what you are willing to put in. I really will ever take him for my college math, the best of the best!
Very easy teacher. Take him! You won't get disappointed. He'll help you with everything and has his own formulas find solutions in an easier, quicker way.
Mr. Legge is really nice, and genuinely wants his students to do well. He offers a lot of outside help and gives a ton of examples. There is a short quiz every week but he gives you classwork before the quiz that is the same kind of problems. I would highly recommend Mr. Legge, this coming from someone who hates math!
Extremely helpful, and very concise in teaching the basics of the subject, and takes it upon himself if most students fail. Homework, Quizzes, and Tests are curved. Great if you plan to take Calculus and higher.Taught the basics of parametrics, vector calc, though I'm disappointed that he didn't go over the basic of Single Variable Calculus.
Really nice guy. Tests are a bit challenging, but he lets you have a note card on the exams. He collects homework, classwork, and gives quizzes weekly. I don't really understand how he grades.. but seems fair enough to me! :)
Mr. legge the BEST!! take him if you can and attend MATH BOOT CAMP
BEST TEACHER AT DE ANZA EVER. Cute little British man. So friendly, so helpful in class for those who are scared to have 1 on 1's. Very funny. The class is ridiculously easy, and trust me, I am terrible at math. Wow, I just loved this class so much. He is the only teacher I like at De Anza. I wish he taught Stats. ):
Professor Legge is probably my favorite math teacher of all time. He forms personal relationships where he actually knows you by name, knows what situation you are in, and how well you are doing in the class. He also tries his best and goes out of his way to help you pass the class. Definitely taking again.
Mr. Legge is my FAVORITE teacher! i deeply regret not taking him for math 114. he is an amazing teacher. he is clear, precise, and really all he wants is for his students to do well! he gives all of the students numerous chances to get an A or even to improve the low grade you have. WONDERFUL TEACHER! attend classes and do homework = A++++
Simply the very best math teacher at De anza!
He is pretty nice and mellow. Homework is due on Wednesdays so you have plenty of time. Quizzes every Friday which are pretty easy, if you pay attention and/or study. But like any other class they get harder as you move on. You learn up to three lessons in one day so it is at a pretty fast pace. Make sure to stay on top of everything. Study!!
I LOVE MR. LEGGE! Hes seriously the best math teacher I have ever had! Take him and im more than positive you wont regreat it.
What can you say about Mr.Legge's teaching style other than "he rocks".He breaks down math in a way that is easily understood. I wish I could have him for all my math classes and I hope Canada College brings him back. He definately rates an A+ and should be part of their faculty...
Easy class. VERY HELPFULL! Pay attention, go to class everyday, study and you will get a good grade. I wish he taught all of my necessary classes but unfortunately he doesn't :( simply the best math professor i've had!!
i like his accent sounds like harry potter. awesome teacher, very easy. if you want an easy A take him.
Very helpful. quiz every friday, midterm every 3 weeks. he offers math bootcamp to those who are struggling. gives chances to many people who dont deserve it though, but it makes him a nice teacher. overall a great person to learn from.
He is a very delicated teacher. He gives us many chances to improve our grade. He is pretty easy to evaluate the percent of score so you are easy to get A finally.
one of the BEST math teachers ive ever had! he knows how to teach and makes class interesting.IF YOU SUCK AT MATH TAKE HIM, HE REALLY EXPLAINS THINGS. I wasnt very good at math before but now I enjoy math. It sucks that he wont be teaching 114 :(
He has an insane curve. His lectures are relatively clear and if you do the homework well, you should be able to get an A. He really wants to help students learn and is a fair grader.
He grades on a curve and offers a "math bootcamp" which he teaches study skills in. Found him to be helpful. Can get a good grade if you put the effort in. You have to do the homework to do so. Has a interesting sense of humor and does not like slackers. Good teacher though.
He's okay. Nice guy, but when it comes to slackers, he goes on continuously about how they need to start taking things seriously...I mean I get it, but that would get in the way of actual learning which got annoying. Homework was due once a week, quizzes every friday. Moves veryyyy quickly so if you're slow I suggest you don't take this class.
Sit in the first 2 rows of class. Shut up and do the homework. Easy A if you do the work and study. Homework due on Wed. Quizzes every Fri. A few Major test. Grades on a curve. Only people who did bad didn't want to be there and didn't put in the work. Listen to him and you'll learn and get an A.
The best math teacher I've ever had! He explains things so well and the grading curve is amazing. This is the first time I've ever felt like I was actually good at math. Really wish he was teaching 114. Take him if you struggle with math!
He is a super wonderful math teacher I've ever had. He really cares about his students, especially for ones who put effort in his class. Textbook is so helpful; lectures are clear; quizzes & testes are what you've done in your homework . So make sure to do HW then you'll surely get lots of math knowledge & good grade in his class.HIGHLY recommend!
For higher level math, I would NOT recommend him unless he is the best option you have or if you're a natural at math. If you can correctly do every problem on the homework, you will be fine on tests/quizzes. He curves. Steps on test/quizzes must be nearly the same to the key or no partial credit for your effort. Homework is graded on correctness.
Mr.Legge is a good professor. His class requires a lot of work but his grading is really fair. Instead of grading based on getting the answer right, he grades you on your overall knowledge of the concept. Hes a really nice guy too and he will help you if you ask. Great math teacher!
He's overall a nice and funny person, but not a good teacher. I had to learn everything by myself. He curves, which can bump your test & quiz scores one or two grades up. Do your homework b/c most of the time, he copies the questions from the homework on the quiz and tests. I ended up with a B. Not recommended for students who struggle with math.
Professor Legge is very nice. I like him a lot. I love his notes, and the math boot camp he offered. Very helpful. I can easily understand his lecture. He is the best teacher I've taken so far.
Please, for those who wants to learn the concepts of math do not take him. His notes are pretty much a rewrite from the book. He also can not explain the concepts or examples at all. Prior to that he puts you on blast in front of the class when you ask questions. Three exams and a final that is worth more than 3/4 your grade so have fun.
Love him. Although he wastes a lot of time talking about how slackers need to pick up. Funny and cool with students. I don't know if this style would work for harder classes though.
I wish I can take him for the rest of my math classes at De Anza. Everything he teaches and assigns on quizzes and homework are ALL very similar to what's on the test; this doesn't happen in my Math 43..... Even if you're not good at math, IF you want to get an A in this class, put in effort and he'll help you.
Hes an okay teacher. He sometimes can go off and rant but hes a very funny guy. When asking questions , he himself can get confused at times and he could explain things unclearly at times. Hes curves test grades which is an awesome thing. You gotta do the work and pay attention if you want to pass.
He is one of the best math teachers I've had. His office hours are very helpful. He goes over discipline and test preparation. He does NOT use the online homework. He understands math, which helps because when you ask why or any other question he has the answer/reason. Most teachers, comparatively, parrot the processes in math.
He is a funny guy. his lesson is really helpful so you dont have to read the calculus after class. you will do homework in paper. high recommended
Legge is cool if you do all your work and don't be a distraction to the class....be on time and put the effort in....he'll see the efforts...loved his dry British humor....the last few weeks of class..he lays the material on really thick....just study and you'll do fine. I think he's underrated. Good teacher.
study yourself before class, much homework, sometimes teach very fast, Quizzes and mid terms are usually straight forward.
Homework due every week, Quiz on friday + sometimes monday. 3 midterms &final (which is worth a lot) Honestly, I don't really blame Mr.legge, I think the book he was using is just terrible at teaching the concepts and helping you understand everything. Mr.Legge's notes were based off the book and the book is terrible. So I felt confused a lot.
Great math teacher. I wish I had him this quarter.
Okay i understand what everyone rated him but seriously he's not as easy as he sounds. If you know you have a hard time with math and you've gone to the teacher for extra help and stuff. DO NOT TAKE HIM. he offers this thing called "math bootcamp", doesnt help, mostly about meditation and getting out of your mind. He's KINDA nice, but thats it
It was easy to get A as long as you do his class work and homework. The midterms and quiz was pretty easy but the final was very hard. I got an easy A as I did well on my mid terms and quizzes though the final is hard to score.
Quiz every week! If you know the material, you will have no trouble passing this class. Midterms and final are not negotiable in terms of the datetime.
I would not recommend taking Professor Legge unless you don't mind being confused and lost a lot. He is not there for you and the class is very confusing and messy. From what it sounded like, not very many people had a good time at all taking the final in comparison to the other exams. He isn't easy to talk to and doesn't budge on much.
I actually had professor Legge for both 212 and 210 and I enjoyed his class. Everything was explained so clearly. His lessons are straight forward. If you do the homework, you'll do great on the quizzes. If your grades on the quizzes were good, your midterm and final will be good as well.
I have had Mr. Legge for all of my math classes at De Anza and I would highly recommend anyone who has trouble with math to take his class. He explains the concept behind the formulas and shows you the steps through examples. If you have trouble with math ask him for help. You have to put in the effort
Good teacher. Explains very well. Gives good grades and gives out classwork after every lesson. Quizzes usually come from the classswork. He checks your classwork.
Professor Legge is a great teacher. His lectures are very clear and is more than willing to help you. He repeatedly mentions Math Boot Camp to remind students that if they need help he is there for them. You are assigned around 3 sections of homework that's due the following week. He makes jokes that aren't that funny, but overall is very nice.
Mr. Legge is a professor that is straight forward. Easy class only if you are willing to come to class and do HW, then automatically you will do well on tests. be ready to be a student when you take his class. He is really great and helped me to like math again!
He was rushing through lectures when I took him because he was behind schedule. Some of his notes are pointless, and he doesn't ever stop to ask if anyone has questions he just asks who's following along. You get classwork after every lecture along with homework, but it helps you understand the material.
Ahh, Mr. Legge.. He's extremely smart and understands the material very well BUT, he teaches very fast. However Legge cares about his students and is willing to help you if you need it. He's very nice and is easy going. I barely passed his class, however I'm pretty bad at math. Don't take his class if you're lazy and aren't willing to study..
I took him for 2 quarters straight because he was such an amazing professor. He grades on a curve, and he is just a professor that comes off as intimidating but if you ask for help, he will give you clarity. Be ready to learn and practice math if you want an A in this class. Highly recommend!!
I took Legge for 2 quarters straight along with many other students in my class who seem to have been in his class before. He really wants his students to succeed, and is extremely lenient on grading. As long as you do the weekly homework and pay close attention in class, you should have no problem in receiving a good grade!
Mr. Legge is a good teacher. He explains all the things well and provides 12 examples for each thing. He always offered extra credit questions. He gave pretty much homework, but he would ask us for suggestions. Then he canceled some of the homework questions. Take him if you study hard. Notes allowed during tests and quizzes.
Calculus is hard as it is. Mr. Legge makes it the easiest it can be, but it's still hard. If you NEED to take calculus, take it with Legge. But if you don't, it will still be hard.
Calc is hard. Don't take it if you want an easy A. Mr. Legge makes it as easy as it can be. He spends a little too much time explaining proofs that you won't need, but he gives you classwork and homework (which is tough) and if you put in the effort to understand those, you're good for his tests. Plus he lets you use notecards on the tests.
Mr. Legge is overall a very good teacher. He lectures clearly, explains concepts if you say you're confused, and really does try to help his students. His classes are usually lecture then group classwork. Homework due every Wednesday. He is pretty strict. No phones allowed in his class and he randomly pulls students into the hall to talk to them.
Mostly had to self-study due to the vagueness of the lesson notes. Hardly reviews fundamentals from previous classes, which left me confused sometimes. Homework quizzes every Wednesday, three midterms, and a final. The homework is manageable, except he only chooses even problems. Don't take his class if you're not willing to put in the effort.
Legge teaches at a QUICK pace and skips a lot of steps, so you will get lost until you read the the book. SERIOUSLY make an effort in this class or take a diff prof. I got C's in all math up til calc in high school, so I suck at math. However, I made a HUGE effort in the class and passed midterms with B+ or A. DO THE HW AND STUDY BY DOIN HW RELATED
He doesn't have time to go over hw in class, because lecture has a lot to cover, but you can go over hw in office hours. Standard classroom procedure. The final was easy, and had similar questions to the ones we'd been working with... but of course he won't recycle hw problems on the final! Great teacher! Easy A
Honestly, I took him during summer quarter so his class went a little faster than the average math class. I like his grading system because if you bomb one of his midterms but do really well on the final, he replaces that midterm score with your final grade instead. I went from a C to a B+ because of that grading system.
Victor Legge is incredible! He's done an unbelievable job teaching hard subjects like calculus, even to those not-so-bright students who have a hard time. I'm not one who enjoys math or finds it to be my strong suit, but Victor Legge has done a tremendous job teaching it, and with his astounding help, I got an A. Great lectures, great everything!
Taking a note is very important. Most of his mid-term and final exam is based on his notes and changed numeric values. You may got a good grade if you do homework. For me, I don't have enough time to solve whole homework exercises. I just review his notes and solve some questions. If you miss 3 times in the classroom, you might get the F.
Amazing professor. Would recommend to everyone. I took 2 of his classes and got an A+ and an A, respectively. He loves you if you participate in class a lot, so do so!
On the first day he seemed very friendly and approachable. However that turned sour quick when we had our first quiz. He has gone on multiple 20 minute rants about how we as students are failures and a disappointment. Instead of focusing on the students that focus, he focuses on the bad students. If you are not disciplined, you will struggle.
Mr legge gives a big lecture in telling you how important it is to pass for 20 minutes or more intead of teaching you math there are more people failing than passing the class he explains in a unclear way not understandable gets mad alot during the class WATCH OUT .
Doing homework, participating his lecture and coming to class, you will get an A
Class felt harder than necessary. Tests were more difficult than what we practiced in class but he grades them very leniently. Not my first choice but would take again if needed. You'll probably get an A if you're normally an A student
He is an amazing teacher. Do the homework because he does quizzes based on it. If you have questions he is free to help you. If not, you can always go to the math tutoring center.
The biggest problem is pacing in this class. He does not cover any midterms review and meanwhile covers about a chapter a day with a quiz every week. Lectures doesn't cover all so self study is a must. For the midterms, this becomes a problem because you are trying to figure out the current material one week ahead and do classw while study week b4.
Professor Legge was very unclear when teaching the material. He spoke rapidly throughout all the lectures and never used math terminology. After he gave us short examples and was onto the next lesson. I DO NOT recommend this teacher for ANYONE!!!!! His teaching methods are horrible and he gets upset because he assumes you suck at math.
His class not based on the textbook, it's totally his own freestyle, the notes is very confuse, sometimes he may use some fomula from physics to introduce an easy mathmatical formula& he spend most time on check the classwork, we have 2.5hours lecture but he may only teach you 1 hour. Classwork is fine, and his exam DOES NOT based on homework.
Do not take his class, save your money and choose other teachers. He makes math hard to understand. The midterm and final are super difficult.
It's a weird class as the content makes you believe it's hard while the grading policy for most things(just NOT THE FINAL) makes it more bearable. By 3rd week I know at least 60% of the class did Pass/No Pass, just not worth the risk. Overall the Teacher definitely could have been taught better and made it not as difficult as it was. Self studytxt!
He is a really good guy! If you complete the classwork and homework you will be able to get an A. He will drop the lowest midterm if you score better in final. ALL his quizzes will based on homework, if you did the homework you can definitely get A for quizzes!
Go look at his foothill rating for a more accurate rating
Honestly this professor is so rude and degrading. I went to him for help and he indirectly made fun of me for not understanding the material, really hurt my self esteem because I was putting a lot of effort into the class. Other people in my class had similar experiences. Overall, just a really rude guy.
This class seems like it was made for students to lose confidence. I took this class in winter and after the first exam, he berated the class for 20 minutes of how we were such bad students. He curves exams generously so you should pass unless you really slack off. While an okay teacher at best, only take him if there is no good option left.
one of the worst math teachers at de anza. i took his class online and he doesn't explain anything he does, its almost like he's just talking and teaching himself. his tests and quizzes were a little hard too. there's 8 quizzes and 3 midterms and they're all so hard. this class is basically a teach yourself course. and he's rude af and bad attitud
absolutely horrible. im really good at math but this teacher was the hardest I've had in my life. i dropped cuz i didnt understand and he's so rude and he barely helps. please DO NOT take him, h's the worst math teacher ever he cant teach at all and you basically have to learn urself and if u dont do work his way he takes points off. hate him
mandatory attendance points. 8 quizzes, 3 midterms, 1 final. homework is optional. i never really paid attention in class but just studied the concepts the day before. easy class with effort. the only issue is the quizzes and midterms feel extremely fast. 45 mins to complete which go by almost instantly. beware of being slow and not finishing.
This professor is the worst math teacher I have ever had. He is extremely rude and finds it funny. He does not check his emails. He is not understanding. If you are not good at teaching yourself, this is not the class for you. I strongly suggest avoiding this teacher unless you have no choice.
had to teach myself everything through youtube and the textbook in addition to hiring a tutor. The material he uses for his quizzes, midterms, and tests are a lot harder than what he actually teaches in class. He gets mad at students for not understanding concepts, even though he doesn't teach the material thoroughly or well. Nice guy, bad teacher
Possibly the worst professor I've taken at De Anza. Extremely tough grader, quiz/test every week, watches you during his tests, tests include problems he didn't teach, insults students, standoffish, and biased. Your grade is based entirely on tests and quizzes, but gives extra credit opportunities. He seems to be caring IRL, but not in class.
You don't learn much from Legge's lectures. He grades really toughly, and he sure has a bad attitude plus a bad side you can get on. If he doesn't like you, he will make sure to grade you as harshly as possible. Not recommended.
the worst teacher Ive ever had, he rarely teaches from the book, if you don't do tests and quizzes his way he barely gives you points, its his way or no way he even said it specifically in class, if you don't go to class you miss everything and doesn't help you with past classes, classwork everyday, doesn't teach just writes problems then erases it
hates the book If its not his way you barely get points he NEVER replies to emails book is only for hw classwork everyday if you miss a class you miss a whole section & he doesn't like questions for past classes nor will he help you if there's hw you don't know until day before he SAID im over all your excuses any late work is 5- points every min
STAY AWAY!
A bit rude to say the least, but has a cool accent. Teaching is mostly just him explaining things to himself. Quizzes and exams feel so short for dont waste time doing daydreaming during those, but gives an absurd amount of extra credit. At the end of the day, the material itself isn't too hard you'll be fine if he is your last resort.
After having others' course, I would like to come back and give him a 4. Although he is a bit rude, I think that at least he teaches. In the course that I am now having, the instructor just posts some YouTube videos on Canvas. No explanation.I remembered that Mr Legge tried to make fun during class even he is not that kind of person. Not bad at all
Calc is a hard class but if you put in the work to understand CW and HW problems than tests should be fine, nothing too insane. Tests are like 80% of the grade so be ready though. The curve is pretty good. Lecture style did not click personally, had to self learn a lot. You could do a lot worse at De Anza than Legge.
ASYNCH. HW+CW+labs every week, 3 midterms, 1 final. labs+HW graded on completion, CW graded harshly. lectures arent always easy to understand. exams are a little hard, if u dont self-study u wont pass. not good at responding, go to office hours for questions and hell help. he gives some extra credit. textbook is online and free. watch lectures!
I was in the async class. This class stressed me and my classmates out way too much. Professor wouldn't answer ANY student emails for some reason. Always forgets to post assignments, doesnt explain assignments, forgets to tell us about upcoming tests. Tough grader on tests and CW. Hes rude even if you ask for help. Overall tough class.
He is a fine professor. However the amount of HW,CW is quite an amount, the due date for Class Work is short. Midterm is overall hard so watch out. Also, Grading is a bit random and has no feedback, the solution will be on next week and hard to tell where did you go wrong. But in conclusion, not good and not bad
Random grading criteria and no feedback. Seems kind of checked out during lectures. Wouldn't recommend if you are looking to walk away from course with a good understanding of material.
Do NOT take this guy's class. He does not care about you or your grade. He can be funny and seems like a nice person in real life but if you actually want to learn about the class and understand what it is going on take someone else. Does not provide and rationale for handing out grades and he his tests are SUPER long with not nearly enough time.
Pretty much gives no feedback on any work. A friend and I submitted the same exact work for one of the classworks, both ended up getting different scores. He may seem fun and engaging, but it goes away quickly. He doesn't respond to any communications. Every day he promises he'll answer questions after the lecture but ends up leaving early.
Absolutely horrible professor, acts like he knows everything. Grading system: CW (32x) - 23.4% of final grade HW (6x) - (graded on completion and he drops lowest) - 3.6% Midterms (2x) - 14.6% of final grade each Final - 43.8% of final grade For example, didn't include a truth table when he didn't ask for one? You get a 0 on that midterm problem.
Two words to describe Legge: rude and inconsiderate. Gives way too many test questions for the allotted time in class. Lectures are often jumbled and expects us to be experts after a brief example. His grading is all over the place and doesn't do late work, ironic bc he doesn't grade anything on time. He can't manage Canvas either. AVOID!
His grading is very random and he gives no feedback on why you got that score. He grading is also bad as he does not provide a rubric. He stopped giving solutions to classwork because he doesn't want us to know what we did wrong. His canvas class was very confusing as there were multiple assignments with the same name.
Amazing man! Love this teacher! Smells amazing :)
Is a tough grader and gives random scores, while not giving you any feedback as to why it was incorrect. So many papers to keep up on, gives you pointless homework. If you don't know the answer to a question on your homework just make it up he does't grade them, only as participation. Also be ready to not be prepared for any of your Test.
Took this class in 2023, this professor lowkey didn't know what he was talking about and students corrected him when he was trying to explain problems. He treats you like a high schooler making sure you get marked if youre late to class or skipped. He also doesn't care what issues you have outside of his class. Class content is overall easy though.
He refuses to go over homework. He gets pissed when you ask questions and claims things are common knowledge. he grades without given you feedback and doesnt answer questions.
Doesn't give any notes explaining incorrect work. Homework is graded on completion, classwork on correctness. Will assign classwork at random, weekly homework due on Wednesdays, as well as 3 midterms. Frequently gets frustrated when students ask questions. Cams on gives extra credit. Get a tutor if you take this class otherwise it is impossible.
Please for your own sanity, avoid Victor. He is a cranky 71 year old British man who feeds off of your misery. Victor's attendance-mandated lectures consisted of incoherent mumbling and very chaotic, unhelpful information that he shat onto his whiteboard. Difficult tests, classworks are graded off correctness. HARSH GRADING. Expect point deductions
Look mate. I'm gonna keep it real. Only take this class if you've already learned calc. I think that's the only reason I got an A, apart from the fact that I kept my camera on every day. A lot of what he taught was vague asf and he would speed through his lectures like there was no tomorrow. Not very doable if you're learning calc for the 1st time.
*MATH44. Don't take anything with this professor. While he seems like a nice guy deep down, I truly believe he is not mentally & emotionally stable to be teaching. Don't even think he likes students. Has temper tantrums, bullies students, & refuses to explain concepts. He's so smart he can't comprehend that others aren't, yet he is deeply insecure.
A tough class, but if you stay engaged and use resources like unstuck study for study prep, you can get through it. Professor is strict but the content is manageable with dedication.
