Professor Martinez is awesome!!! There was so much about music i had no clue exsisited. A type of professor who really, truly, want to help you succeed in his class. Study hard for the quizzes and assignments, if you dont understand something, he gladly helps. I like when he assigns things, he sends out reminder through email so always check.

Great class, I had so much fun. He showed us and gave us so much info on how music can help in any elementary classroom. Yes, you have a lot of work to do but he helps you better understand stuff you may not know. If you work hard, he does the same for you, if you are lazy, don't expect to pass. I would recommend him!!!!

Great class, I'm sure going to miss it. Be prepared to work and learn a lot, in a fun way. He is willing to help and always reminds us of that. Sends us reminders of due dates on assignments and quizzes as well as his days and times for his office just incase we have any questions. TAKE HIM!!!!!

Took his class in the evening and i liked it. He gives a good amout of assignments and quizzes but gives you a great amount of time to turn it in. He is always willing to help so the best advise is to take it. He makes the class very interesting for an evening class.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first but I liked the class. He relates the history of music to our music now and how it grew over the years. He does reviews for the final and if you show up and study with him, everything that we study is on the test. So if you fail this class you are a very lazy or not so bright person. Enjoyed it!

Love it!!! I feel like he mr miyagied us at times. (Karate kid reference). We would do assignments and research that at times puzzled us. But when he put it altogether, it makes so much sense. You were going to learn a lot about the ins and outs of education. Have fun!!!!

I know that I put an easy A but honestly I failed his class. I can honestly say it was my fault, I just didn't realize he was one of the few professor who want to help you do good. His kid got sick and had to be out for 2 days. for him being out, he gave us extra points. he was very fair. :)

Im like all late and stuff but I took his class last year and I learned a lot. Im a assistant teacher now finishing up my Bachelors of teaching and his stuff he taught us I used it with the teachers class and it worked. Take his class, he really prepares you for the awesome but sometimes rough life of teaching.

Not bad, not bad at all. I liked his case study, round table discussions in the good and the bad that goes on in teaching and how we have to use our quick thinking skills to solve the problem. Had a lot of fun, and you will too!!!!!

I read all posts and agree. Easy A bit you have to work for it and he helps and rewards hard working students. It's not a blow off class and he really give you an insight on music and how it evolved to now. Oh and yeah, he really, really, cares and wants you to truly succeed in his class. I'm a father of 2 and I've been out of the school game for a while. With this school's use of complicated programs, I found him to be a very understanding professor. Great class to be part of a learn things about teaching. A lot of group projects but over all great professor

He does give us group and solo projects but I have to say it helped me with so much. It helped me with organizational skills, professional skills, lesson plan skills and my fear of public speaking. I learned so much in this class, and I know you will too!

It will be harder to purposely fail this class than it is to pass it. Amazing professor, very funny and charming, willing to help and understanding. He will keep you engaged throughout the course. Assignments and quizzes include (but not limited to) reading short passages and answering open ended questions.

Amazing one of the best professors I've had!! Wish all my classes were with him. He is so understanding and caring. He allows work for extra credit but his class is easy. No homework at all!

Great class! The first couple of weeks, he gives us important topic in education, we would have to take what he taught us and do our own case studies and we would discuss it in his round table discussion. Then fun projects too on music methods and final. I liked it!!!

I took his class in the past and enjoyed it. when it came to quizzes, at the end of the chapters he would give us time to get it done in class. even-though they all had a due date, he would give us opportunities to do it in class after chapter lectures. He does like to help so take him up on his offer whenever he gives the opportunity. THUMBS UP!!!

You don't get professors like this guy very often. One who is smart, funny, generally cares about his student's success, and yes, handsome. Take his class, he really makes learning about music fun and enjoyable.

I went into this class knowing absolutely nothing about music and yet it was still a super easy class!!! Hes funny and he truly cares about his students. Plus its an easy A if you do all the assignments which are not hard all. 10/10 would recommend

Great professor! When this pandemic started, he helped transitioned to online easily. Throughout the rest of semester he guided us to a successful end of the semester. Take him!!! Respect him!!!

Due to the Corona, he made his online class user friendly. His online zoom office hours were so cool and he was there to help me when I needed it. Yes, it's alot of work but he even makes videos to guide you through everything. Prof like him makes me feel motivated to come to class everyday.

We did have a lot of discussions to do, watch videos and write about it. Sometimes his module would give instructions but when Id email for clarification hed give a different set of instructions :/ but easy class.

I took his online course. LOVED IT! eventhough it was taught 100% online, whenever we needed him, he always made time for us. His online zoom office hours were so helpful, he was always there to help us. And with enthusiasm. I don't know music or it's history but he made it so much fun and I learned alot. He's very nice and motivating too.

Read post from students who had to take him online because of COVID. They are correct! he was awesome! very helpful, answered email quickly or maybe a day after (which didn't happen often, even as busy as he his, he answers emails fast). I learned so much history on music, it was insane how he can remember all that, LOL! TAKE HIM!!!!!

Martinez was a great professor my favorite by far! He's very helpful but is firm on due dates but he gives you more than enough time to complete them. He will also make it clear that he's there to help you with anything you need and he 100% is!

DANG, IT!!!! I wish I could take that class. Take either appreciation or his now American Music Class if you have an option. He ROCKS!!!!

He's class was the most easiest class I've taken in my whole life, I swear.

I cant stand when some people write his class was easy. Well of course it was easy for you, more than likely your a music major. Some of us it wasn't that easy. I liked though that he was always willing to help no matter if we came to him alot he was so nice encouraging and very helpful. I learned alot!!!

He was my dual enrollment teacher and he was great. Strict but fair, understanding, motivating and like super smart. Very easy to talk to if we had a hard time understanding stuff. There are very few professors like him.

I remember reading a sign about TSC that said, professional professors that care, and you know, he fits that motto. Now, I can't say the same for some of the other professors, but as an older man who hasn't been in school for years, he would take the time to help me with school and tech step by step. I appreciated that. 10 out of 10!!!

I was duel too and he was awesome. But please show respect to him. there were these kids talking loud when he was teaching and he had them go down and teach the course while he sat at our desks. he taught them a lesson but forgave them and helped. I was one of those guys and he really taught me a lesson. Im forever grateful for that. thank you sir!

I took him for the online class because of COVID. He made it user-friendly and was always there if you needed him. With that transition, he helped so much, and I had so much fun learning about the history of music. He even guided us through the midterm and final exams. He would make videos with guidance, too, for the modules we had to do. take him!

I took his online too. He was very helpful like everyone says he is. He even goes as far as making guided videos as a way to shows us how to do things step by step. He goes the extra mile to help, not like other professors do, so take advantage of his help. He's awesome!!!

I took his hybrid class and it was cool. This was worth waking up on a Saturday to learn about music history. He makes it fun and interesting. We are online Monday through Friday and meet Saturdays only. Take his class!!!

I agree with the hybrid reviews of his class. It was awesome! Saturday is my lazy day but I would only wake up for his class on a Saturday. I learned alot and had fun. Really!!!!

I took his hybrid course. Mon-Fri was all online, and he had lectures on Saturdays. I loved it! He was well-prepared, intelligent, and a great example of a real professor. He never looks down on us, makes class enjoyable and fun to learn, and is just a fantastic dude.

I regret dropping his class, but I had issues. It may be a new class but he took it to a hole different level. I had no idea America had alot of history of music. Im hoping to retake this class once i get my crap together. If you have the opportunity take his class you should like it.

Im almost done with this class and I have to say, American Music history was mind blowing! He covers from jazz all the way to hip hop and rap. If you are looking for another elective, take this, you will have fun and learn alot.

Whatever happen to this class? Prof. Martinez was amazing. Mon-Fri was online and we met on saturdays. The American music course was legit!!! He went deep into the history of jazz, blues, rock, hip-hop, and music now. I already miss this course. Take it, you will enjoy it. Your having fun while you learn so much.

You can tell how passionate this professor is. I enjoyed the new American Music class. He was clear with his lecturing, compassionate when we didn't have experience in music history, and was always there if we needed help. My friend took his online class and he said the same thing. I liked this class very much! I took his music app class then this course. Both amazing, fun and like taking a time machine to how music started and where it is now and how we don't realize it but so much apart of our lives. I would advise to take his music app and them american music 2nd. or however you want either way, you will like it.

I read some posts on him, its true, hes a great professor. I was failing his course but he sent me an inspritational email and told me not to give up and that he would help me if i needed it. I said ok he helped me step by step. my english is no that good but he cared and helped me. I passed and was very proud.

i had him for an online class so i didn't really meet him in person, but his class online was very simple and straight to the point. i had an assignment turned in late once and he was very understanding when i explained to him why it was late. he graded our final very fairly.

I took both his American music and music appreciation course and I learned a lot. He really takes you on an adventure of how music came about to where it is right now. He really does look out for his students even if he has to be absent for whatever reason, he always looks out for us. Smart and cool dude.

If you are taking music, please get Martinez, HES THE BEST. I had him for one semester with my friends, and he just made it so fun, it was one assignment per week, and the final was so easy. The only way you can fail is if you don't do the work, but his work is so easy it shouldn't be a problem. I recommend this professor 100%, he deserves awards.

I took a hybrid dual class with him. I thought he was gonna be thinking he was all that when he came in but i totally judged him. He is everything that you read in this rating of him. So positive motivating and caring. He made it so fun. Take him. You can tell he works out too, lol!!!!

I took his hybrid too. What i liked was that he would set aside time to help us with our research paper and final presentation. No professor that I had would take the time to this. He doesn't have to do this, he can leave us to the dogs and figuring this out. HES AWESOME! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
