Professor Rubin is one of the best professors I had. His test are fair and he is very helpful and makes sure that he succeed.
Rubin is the best professor that i had in JJC. He is a sweetheart and wamt to see that everyone in the class pass. He make a deal with the class if you pass the final you will pass the class. Exams are fair and don't give a lot of assignments.
he is such a sweetheart very helpful and fair not that much work and gives good reviews he makes bargains with the class to help everyone pass strongly reccomend

He is a very funny professor who teaches pleasant classes. The work is a little hard-you will have to write many case briefs. He is fair, though and he never looks to screw anyone over. I would take him again
He will screw you over. IF he makes a mistakegrading up your paper he will not change the grade. He is disorganized. Other students hate him because our course is about is the 1st Amend. WE thought we were taking a course on the constituion as a whole
He is a great professor, a lot of briefs & daily read of The NYTimes but personally I don't think he reads the briefs, just sees that u did it. Have 2 stand up when talking but I think he is a great professor. I would recommend him. clarifies hard points.
HE IS THE MAN. I ENJOY THIS CLASS AND HE IS THE NICE AND CARELY MAN.
Great professor. You have to particpate in class if you want a good grade..
Take him!! I loved his 401 class & take it from me, his style of teaching may seem odd, but if you want to go to law school..get used to it. Hes tough but fair & a total sweetie. Also, he wrote me a fab letter for law school. Hes the coolest prof at JJ.
Excelent professor, very helpful
Fantastic Professor. Wish I could have taken him for more than one class. He makes you work, but hes interesting and funny and makes the material easy to understand. I loved him! He might seem gruff at first, but hes really a total sweetie. He even brought cookies in for us one day! Take him!!
Best professor at John Jay. Hes funny and nice and the class is really interesting.
Favorite Professor I had at JJay. Hes brilliant and interesting and makes you work hard enough to get something out of it, but not to the point where it seems like has no respect for your other classes/life. I loved him and would have take this class twice if I could.
Oh My God! He is one of the best professors @ JJAY. He knows the material well and strives to make sure you understand things. He breaks things down step by step. He encourages class participation and recitation. Fair grader you get what you give! I plan to take him for my 400 level class.
Good guy. He's not easy, but he's not hard. It's a fun class and you'll actually learn something. He tends to focus on civil law more than criminal, but thats a VERY good thing if you plan to go to Law School.
great professor, All you have to do is briefs and c three exams, i think he is the best law professor in new york,
Prof. Rubin rocks. Hes fun, interesting, brilliant, has an excellant sense of humor and makes class very engaging. Take him for any class you can. Hes my favorite professor at JJay.
Prof Rubin is the best. He's very understanding
What can I say about prof Rubin? He's a great professor. He teaches alot believe it or not, but you don't realize it because the class is so fun and interesting.I was shy he made me learn to speak up. I'm very happy I took that course not only that I walked away with knowledge, I also walked away wi
He is a caring and helpful professor, who actually explains the course material, his exams are interesting and not difficult, and he is an extremely generous grader!
care about his student's GPA. If you dont like law he makes you love it... take him
GREAT PROF. REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AND IS ALWAYS THERE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. MAKES HIS CLASSES AND EXAMS VERCLEAR AND TO THE POINT. HE KEEPS THE CLASS INTERESTING AND SPEAKS TO YOU LIKE A EQUAL. HIGHLY REC. pROF. RUBIN
I took this professor in the Summer 2004! Please take him in the summer if you can. Rubin is so cool! Does not try to make things difficult. Tests are real easy. He is always there for you. He is such a nice man. Doesnt he look like Charleston Heston a little? MOSES!!
I don't understand what is the big deal with this man. He thinks he is all that, get a life. Everything is about him, that little penguin
Rubin is an amazing teacher that works with the students to help you learn and become someone that you want to be. He gives sound advise about what he thinks is best in your situation. Prof. Rubin is a great teacher and man.
great professorhes cool professional and helps u understand the real world and he gives u his cell fone number in case u need help
Great professor. the best i have had at JJay. Hes an amazing guy who really cares about his students both in the classroom and out. You are able to reach him for anything once you have been his student. I even had him give me an over tally so I could take his law 206 class in fall 05. TAKE CLASSES WITH HIM IF YOU WANT TO LEARN & HAVE FUN
This man has major nepolian complex, he is a ahole, he will make youhate your life the entire class. He loves to make you feel like garbage.
Ignore this fellow below me, he does not know what he is talking about. He's a great professor, and if you need help you can go to him.
Best professor I have had so far. Ignore the guy who critized him. Had he paid attention in class, he might have learned how to spell "Napoleon". Rubin takes a real interest in his students, offers help, makes the classes truly interesting and puts everything into context. He never belittles anyone - he boosts students' self-confidence!
substituted for one my law classes. i don't know what all of you are talking about. he's irritatingly arrogant, and he teaches the class at high school level. i can't remember jack that i learned from him. on the other hand, he seems like a nice enough person, ideal for a buddy if that's what you all are interested in.
We have to have newspaper articles everyday to discuss, today 3 people didn't have it so he just cancelled class and left. What is that!? He should just tell everyone with no articles to leave. Instead we all get punished? I paid good money for this petty behavior.
BEST PROF. IN THIS SCHOOL. Anyone who gives this gentleman a bad rating is just looking for the easy way out. Wait until you get to law school, then you will really be sorry...Prof. Rubin...holla at ur boy!
Very easy professor--the tests are a joke. Tells funny stories, and makes the class have a good time. Awesome person. A+++++++ Take this class!
This professor is great. You are guranteed no less then a B in his class. That easy. He didn't give a paper but you have to have a article everyday and if he calls on you, you have to read it or you can volunteer. Everyone must do it. You also had one brief to do but he used it for participation, you don't get it back.
Any nasty comments are from idiots. I dont blame him for cancelling class. Try coming to law school & having 3 people in a row be unprepared. A cancelled class is nothing! Prof. Rubin is the best. Hes pretty much the reason I came to law school. If you want a class that will stimulate your mind & motivate you, take Rubin.
ALOT of work...you breif a ton of cases, and yes you do have to bring in the newspaper everyday. The tests are tricky, but if you do the work you will be ok.
Newspaper articles?! What is this, 10th grade civics? He ran the class as if we were in high school. Also gave unnecessary political commentary. We don't want to hear your opinion of the President. It's old!
RUBIN IS THE BEST...NEWSPAPER ARTICLES ARE NECESSARY TO UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON IN THE WORLD YOU LIVE IN, IF YOU DON'T DO THAT ON YOUR OWN, YOU'RE A WASTE OF SKIN. RUBIN IS THE BEST... THE PEOPLE WHO SAY OTHERWISE BELONG ARE SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS.
great professor, easy A
Professor Rubin is a very good. If there is a problem, he is there to help. I think he is an easy A. But make sure you have your articles and your case briefs, then you can stand a chance of recieveing an A.
Great professor. Extremely helpful and invovled with his students. He even gives his cell phone number for any questions. He is a easier grader but be ready to do ALOT of cases briefs (about 5 or so a week) and you must stand up when you speak in the class.
Prof. Rubin is great. There is somewhat alot of work to do, but an easy A. Very helpful with any problems, and once you become his student, you are his student for life!!!
Very good teacher, be prepared to read NY Times every morning so you have something to talk and if you participate you will do fine. Tests not to bed if you do what he will say. take it.
you will love his way of teaching. his class is very interesting and the only way you can fail is if you don't like the subject.
Hes' the best! kinda gives a lot of work, but you'll really learn, he's very helpful and just a sweet guy if u do your work..easy grader too
Professor Rubin is the best teacher a student can have. Im a hood dude and i tell you he is very easy topass. as long as you do the reading participate and stand upin class. he gave me an A- in summer school. due to factors i was always late but he understood. pass his test and you good money to buy an A
He is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. He makes you work hard, and you don't realize it until you are done with the class. I learned more in this class than I have in several semesters!
One time he picked 3 people in a row to produce hw, they all didn't have it and he cancelled class right there before it started.
Professor Rubin is a dynamic professor, he is a great asset to John Jay. Very helpful to his students, Rubin cares about his students and works very hard to enrich their academic ventures.
What a Great Professor! Learning Law is fun. He has his own simple theories that make sense. He's very nice and cares about his students. He is a ShowMan, a True British Dandy! I could not help but notice his collection of $400.00 Waterman Pens. He inspired me to push myself and become the best that I could be. Thank You, Prof. Rubin!
he is very sociable with the class. He is willing to help you and clarify anything you dont understand. The only thing is- because he is a lawyer he makes you stand up when you speak. its not that bad after awhile. if you are taking law take professor rubin.Oh and he offers free law advice if you personally need it.
Professor Rubin is the****!!!!... I Love this class. if you taking any law classes take him. easy A. just come to class, do the briefs, take the exams and you good
Great teacher..very knowledgable and likeable..makes learning about constituion fun and interesting..Makes you stand up in class with every "address to the court/judge" have to bring in an article from the paper everyday...have to do a lot of case briefs but he doesnt grade them..justs makes sure you know the case...Tests are very easy if u study..
this prof. rocks. he is the best, he knows his stuff and will answer any personal legal questions that u may have. def. take this class, you'll love it.
he is a great professor. theres only 2 exams and final in this class-pretty easy! sometimes he curves grades. make sure you take classnotes because that's where the questions come from on the tests. and make sure you have a new york times article everyday. he runs the class as a court room so he makes you stand when you speak. totally recommended!!
I was nervous about his class at first, but I got to know him and he is great! Always be prepared with an article. I was never called on randomly b/c I offered, up to 3 times, to read an article.
He's a great professor and very helpful. Three test and don't forget to bring your article everyday. Do the reading so that when you are called on randomly you can answer the questions, even though he doesn't mind if you guess. You have to stand up when you speak!
AMMMAZING!!! i thought i was gonan fail at first and im the type of person i liek tp take the "easy way out" BUT....this guy MADE ME wanna learn....i payed attention to everything it was sooo much fun and soo interesting...article everyday. 2 midterms and a final...EASY. e does curve grades...make sure u show up!
He is a great profesor.Make the class fun. He is very strict with attendance and homework. Always have the articles ready for discussion.Easy A if you do all the assignments. If you need this class as a requirement he is the right professor for this class.
Not only best prof, but good person inside. Funny and entertaining with real stories. Absolutely love him, always miss class cos its 1st period but attendance is not mandatory however his tests are some notes definitions and fill in. EAASY A!!! and you will have fun! because of him im going to law school. absolutely love him and his teachings
It couldn't get any better than Prof. Rubin. You leave his class always learning something new. He is there to help you!!! He is a great professor, and person!!!!!!!! I LOVED HIM, TOOK HIM FOR TWO SEMESTER AND WOULD DEF TAKE HIM AGAIN!
Nice dude but too many case briefs about 5 every week. Interesting class learned a lot. Nice grader. As long at you pay attention in his class and read the book you will be fine.
EXCELLENT PROF FOR THIS CLASS. I HOPE J.J.C GET MORE PROF LIKE HIM. IF EVERY PROF WOULD IT BE LIKE HIM, MANY STUDENTS WOULD GO INTO THE LAW FIELD. KUDOS FOR PROF. ROGER RUBIN....YOU GO PROFESSOR...
This professor is crystal clear! After him you will love law and you will be willing to want to know more. He was funny and smart. He love the ladies too...kudos is you actually look good...hahaha Contradicting to what he said in the class to steer away from women if you are trying to make it as a professional. ;)
he is the best professor
best teacher was so easy to pass his class his midterm and finals are easy and so is his presentation
great professor, just do the work and you will get a good grade. He's fantastic!!!
The class was easy. There were 3 exams and a final. You do have to bring an article for each class.
THIS GUY LOOKS LIKE HE WALKED OUT THE PAGES OF A GQ MAGAZINE. HE'S A SMOOTH TALKER AND SO CHARMING. WHEN I PICTURE A SUAVE LAWYER, I PICTURE HIM. HIS CLASS IS FUN AND AN EXTREMELY EASY A. THE TESTS ARE EASY, JUST TAKE NOTES NOT ONLY ON WHAT HE TEACHES BUT ON HIS SWAG TOO, LOL
BEST EVER!!!!!! NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS HOW WELL HE IS!!! YOU WILL LOVE LAW!!!!
He is one of the best professors at JJC. If you show up to class and simply follow instructions, you will be able to get a good grade! I took his class last semester and I'm attending LAW 206 now! I wish all teachers were like him! Highly recommend his classes.
OMG!!! You love this Prof. he is the best i had since being at John Jay hand down. Just follow instructions. He hate when students are unprepared. If you want to understand law and get a good grade than he is your Prof.
Prof.Rubin is the man, he knows law like the back of his hand
He knows his stuff. Very educated guy that you cannot out smart. Come to class, bring your newspaper article each class, do your briefs & pass 2 exams with a 90 & you'll get an A . The exams are easy & he tells you exactly what will be on it . Highly Recommended
he is really cool. The class is very helpful. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention but it's not hard to do that in his class. Highly recommended
THE MAN. this guy is awesome. that does not mean an easy A. that means he knows his stuff and will make sure you do the same. do your briefs all the time and have an article every day. Talk in class the cases are interesting. Good lawyer even better professor.wish all of them were cut from the same cloth as this dude.
He the #!it!!!! Wow, what a great prof. And attorney. Lots of work but so interesting and worth it. He's there for you even years after and a great person.
Prof. Rubin is extremely helpful, engaging, and entertaining. I still use notes from his undergraduate class in my law school courses today.
Nice Guy! Book is required, does help you with case briefs and exams. But you can just do without txt book. Does do a lot of case briefs, but it is only for your benefit. He doesn’t grade them, just checks that you do them. Exams were easier. He goes over everything in class. Class was interesting, enjoyed discussions.
He's the bomb!!! So worth it!!!
Pros: Approachable guy; answers your questions in detail; good story teller; no papers or quizzes; briefs do not get marked but count towards your final grade (do them all, trust me) Cons: On average, about five case briefs a week; short answer & true/false exams that are designed to trick you; strict on attendance; have to stand up when spoken to
Love this professor, Nice guy, class very clear to understand.
He an excellent professor. Very helpful, class is not stressful at all but you learn a lot. He treats students as adults. He is lenient and understanding. I personally learned a lot about the 1st Amendment-freedom of speech, press, religion. He is really amazing. Plus he is an experienced attorney. He is one of the bests at John Jay. Take him :)
One professor to relax-read notes
2nd time taking him, he is the man. He makes you do cases briefs but does not check them just collects them to make sure you did it. Make sure you participate and he knows your name and you will do good. Only gives out a few A's each class and gives out a lot of B's. Got an A second time taking him. And make sure to participate!
Same here 2nd time took him cuz he is Awsomeeee I'm gona miss him. He's a cool professor can't complain at all. I wish all the professors were like him. Overall he is a MUST TAKE.
Professor Rubin is an overall great professor. Do not expect to pass the class if you are not attending and doing the work. His methods may seem a little weird at first but you adjust as the semester goes on. One of the best professors I have taken at John Jay.
He's awesome. He is always dressed to impress and very funny. If you do not show up to class, expect to fail. Participation matters and you need to take notes based on exact words from his mouth. be prepared with an article every day, pay attention, and participate often and you will do great. He is understanding and knowledgable. would take again!
Excellent professor. Very helpful, lectures are not stressful and you learn a lot. He treats students as adults. He is lenient and understanding. You learned a lot about the 1st Amendment-freedom of speech, press, religion . He is really amazing. He is an experienced attorney. He is one of the bests at John Jay. overall excellent professor
One of the best professors I have ever taken at John Jay. He makes learning law so interesting and fun. Very enthusiastic man, you will love him. Do your briefs and participate in class. Highly recommend!
Professor Rubin is a very knowledgeable instructor. You must pay close attention during lectures because that is where most of the material on tests come from, including quizzes. His midterm and final are very straightforward and are based on what he lectures about. Do not hesitate to askanswer questions. However, his handwriting is not the best.
My favorite professor of all time!!! You learn so much from him with the way he teaches. He makes learning criminal law beyond interesting and fun. Definitely take him! Do your case briefs and participate in class, you will learn a ton and do really well!
Rubin was amazing! I had a really tough semester and was sick for a huge chunk of class but he made sure to get me back up to speed and even offered to sit with me and go over all of the material I missed. Definitely not a quality you find in most professors. He genuinely wants his students to pass & enjoy class. Looking forward to taking him again
This man has been the greatest professor I've had so far at John Jay. I learned so much from him, it's incredible. Basically no hw, just a quiz, midterm and a final. So simple. The book was only $4. His lectures were great. Never bored. He was so funny and definitely cared so much about his students. Definitely reccommend taking him.
Professor Rubin is great. His lectures are amazing. He made the students think and he made the class very fun. He made the students bring in articles to read for 30 minutes at the beginning of class. The students have to stand up whenever they wanna talk-whether asking or answering a question. The book costs $2. You'll like him. Come one time!
I took Rubin online. The way he types online is really bad which makes it harder for you to understand. He gives weekly assignments, case briefs and article. He will know if you copy and paste. Midterm and Final: Watch his videos! The answers are in the videos and he wants specific words. you have the entire day to do the exams. Not an Easy A class
Professor Rubin is the best in my opinion. One of the best at John jay without a doubt! His lectures are wonderful, he tells his students to call him if they ever need him for help & he is straightforward. He is helpful & funny. I recommend him highly! Just do your case briefs which are easy & study for your quiz which is not hard at all.
His midterm and final are based off his lectures. Miss a day you would miss something very important. He gives about three to five case briefs a week. But do them, they can be useful.
Here's a professor that really cares about his students. He's more on the oldschool style, so no computers and is really offended by phones. He tells great law stories of his own experiences and one of the few who keeps them related to the lecture. Do the case briefs, go to class, and raise your hand, you'll do great.
He is an easy professor online. Just an assignment mainly case briefs every week. Which are not hard if you think they are then clearly law is not for you. He posts a lecture every week but I never watched them. The exam was easy, and he requires an article with every assignment and why you chose it. Just choose anything. I recommend him for an A.
Throughout the semester he only left a comment on one homework. This leaves you unsure of your progress in the course and if you are doing assignments correctly. Not one grade was given on an assignment of on the midterm. Would definitely not recommend his online class.
He is very helpful and really wants you to learn. Assignments can be difficult but he is not a tough grader at all. Few cases briefs and one final exam that was not difficult. Overall you will learn about law and will get a good grade
Rubin knows his material. He will make videos for his online courses. Great. But, it's a 200 level course! He wants you to brief 2-3 cases, 2-3 pgs each, answer some questions, and include an article. That's a weekly assignment of 9-12 pgs. Easily a final paper for a 300-400 level course. He doesn't grade them. Disrespectful, to say the least.
If you find law interesting. Take him. He's awesome and understanding. Like that cool ass grandpa. You gotta know your stuff to do well but it doesn't take much to get a good grade. Do it
Amazing prof. Don t skip, be a good listener and take good notes and you will DO GREAT! NO BOOKS NEEDED! JUST LISTEN TO HIS LECTURES.
Amazing Professor!!!!. Take him. He's understanding and caring. His class was not difficult at all. As long as you pay attention during class and take good notes, you'll be fine.
He is amazing! His lectures are really interesting. There's a midterm, final and a whole bunch of case briefs! Just study your notes and you'll be find. His material is not that difficult but it isn't an easy A class. He's really understandable and is always available if your in doubt with your grade. Completely recommend you won't regret it!
Professor Rubin was probably one of the better professors that i took at JJC. he cares for his students and want them to pass, his lectures may be boring at times but his grading criteria are very clear. His class consist of 2 exams (mid/final) 2-3 blackboard assignments. OH.. whenever you talk he makes you stand up.
Just amazing. Thats what I can only tell who ever is reading this. All you have to know is that he's a very honest, patient and generous man. You'll do case briefs at least every week just to challenge your memory and he gives a midterm and final, no papers. His lectures are the best to listen to, participate and bring a article to class everyday.
He is OKAY. He gives 5 case briefs or more and you only have 2-3 days to do them. However, if you don't do so well but ace the final he will give you an A. I remember when I took him, I didn't do most of his cases and had a B- in the midterm but I got an A in final exam so he gave me an A- as the final grade.
Prof. Rubin is a very smart person, he is a lawyer so you can imagine he knows a lot about law and is also very passionate too. HiS class is not an easy A, but if you do the case briefs(about 3-4/week), listen to his video lectures(1/per assignment) and pay attention when you take the midterm and final you can get a good grade.
Fully online course. Pro. Rubin recorded his lecture and posted on BB 3-4 times a month. For discussion board, there were assignmed 5-7 case briefs each week and a news article. Be ready to read and make sure purchase your textbook (9th edition only). Midterm and Final (I. 40 mutiple chocies; II. A short story, answer scenario-based legal Q ).
BEST PROFESSOR OUT THERE! Even though I didn't get to have his class in person, he was always there for us students via video lectures and calling him. Would recommend everyone to take him. Assignments consisted of briefs, no midterm, final was 50 questions. ( Keep in mind this was a three-week summer course).
Professor Rubin is very knowledgeable and experienced being that he is a lawyer. We had to bring in an article from a newspaper to every class and he would randomly call on 3 students to stand and read them to the class which wastes too much time. Besides that, he truly cares about his students and is very accessible if you have any questions.
Literally one of the best professors at John jay If not the best Truly cares about his students and is very understanding. He is a lawyer who can also help with your personal problems. You wanna learn , and pass this is the class for you
He gives A LOT of homework. You have to brief cases every week which can turnout to be 10 pages of writing over the weekend. He is very accessible through his personal cell phone, he encourages people to call with any questions. Mid term and final are super easy. He mostly cares about participation and the case briefs. Be ready to work hard.
I had Prof. Rubin a little over twelve years ago; glad he is still teaching. I enjoyed the class so I took another class he was teaching after. I was having trouble figuring out what to do after I graduated and he gave me some guidance & had me come to his Law office. The guy really is a good teacher. I work in Litigation Technology now.
Took Professor Rubin online course. The class required briefs, posting current news articles and how they relate to the lecture, a midterm and a final. He is always available via cell phone and will answer any questions one may have. Video lectures are very clear. If you take notes and read the chapters in the book, the test will be easy.
A lot of case briefs but given it was an online class. His only way of contact really is by phone call (which I still don't get), if you email him, he does not respond at all which is ridiculous. The class was all over the place, disorganized. Its an easy A yeah, but just all over the place.
This professor is very caring! He cares about his students. If you give him a call he is always available to answer any questions. He does not want his students to fail. Class mostly consisted of discussing briefs, a midterm and final. He reviews before you take them! I WOULD take him again...
He's ok. If you try to email him he'll just reply to you and tell you not to email him and call him(which I'm not a fan of). He gives you many case briefs which is understandable being that it is an online class. He can be a bit discouraging if you're struggling, he told me "shape up, or pull out the class" and practically yelled at me via email.
Professor Rubin is definitely caring and always easy to reach. (By phone call which is a lot easier than typing out emails and waiting for a response). The briefs are simple and to the point and he drops video lectures every week. Just study the briefs and call if you have any issues and you'll do fine.
This class is easy, you have to do 3 discussion. He posts videos daily, and mid term, his final is 20 questions. He gives you enough time and feedback off the videos which help you during both test. I would take him again
He does not give a proper syllabus so you never know his actual assignments. He will post at 11pm to do 5 case briefs and make them due in 3 days. Case briefs are like .01% of grade so idk why he assigns so many. Midterm had barely anything to do with the case briefs. Doesn't give grading. It is too much work for a 200 level class.
Gives a lot of assignments due in a little bit of time, gets upset if we ask for an extension. He is really tough so dont do it to yourself!
Professor Rubin is both professional and a seasoned attorney. Loved his online presentations would take him over any day of the week. Great Great class and professor, work hard because he expects you to be good at what you do
Class was alright. 1 midterm and 1 final, but there is a lot of homework which are mainly case briefs. Sometimes he'd let us know 3 days in advance to do lets say 5 of them. A lot of work for only 20% of your grade. If you do your case briefs and study for finals you should be fine.
Professor Rubin gives you his cell number and encourages you to reach out throughout the semester, making one connection mandatory via Zoom. A lot of case briefs, but very interesting cases, do those and the midterm and final are a breeze. He cares about students learning, and that goes beyond academia's focus on a grade! Definite learned a lot.
he was always available through phone never through emails. midterm and final based all in his lectures so I recommend watching every video and taking good notes. you have case briefs, the syllabus was not useful bc he doesn't put the date for the assignments, usually, they would be posted at random times and only give you 2 days to complete
There are a lot of cases to read and brief, lectures to watch, and a multiple choice midterm and final exam, but overall a caring and understanding professor.
I would not recommend taking this professor. Grading scale only accounts for 90% of overall grade. Weekly assignments without due dates. The professor conducts work from a different time-zone with 3 hours difference, and professor only accepts personal phone calls, not responsive to faculty email at all.
Professor Rubin is hilarious. He makes his lectures interesting. He breaks it downs in laymans terms (even when giving legal terms). He is consistently available (although his time zone was 3 hr differ from NY). if you enjoy law and want an EASY "A" this is the class for you. (A couple of Youtube lectures, multiple choice exams & 1 or 2 briefs).
Dont let his ratings fool you. He assigns 20-25 assignments, most of them being case briefs. 3-6 cases due every 2-3 days. You wont know how your doing since he does not grade anything except for the midterm and final. The briefs assigned has nothing to do with the exams since he creates a fake scenario. Save yourself the headache, dont take him.
Gives 3+ case briefs due every 2 days. For a 200 level class, it's unbelievable. Professor has only graded 1 assignment out of more than 15. Does not consider the fact that students might be taking other classes or working full-time or part-time for the homework he is giving.
Professor Rubin's LAW203 class is a challenging one, but with the right approach, you can excel. The case briefs can be time-consuming, but using resources like Unstuck ai can help streamline your study prep. Stay on top of the work, and the midterm and final exams are manageable.
