He is very thorough and gives you the sheets you missed if you were absent, tells you what's on each test... but I personally found the class extremely boring and monotonous. I personally did not like the teacher or the class. I was really excited to learn spanish and this guy killed it for me.

Great teacher. Very heplful and has a genuine interest in helping his students. Makes learning spanish fun and easy, also drops the lowset test grade. Very recommended. If you go to FAU, take him as a transient.

This teacher was the greatest, I learned so much, that I'm glad that I'll be taking him again for next semester. I like his way of teaching, it is so much better than what I've already seen. Everyone should have him, because I believe there is no one better than him.

this is conversational spanish. He is a very good professor. He enjoys speaking spanish and passes that on to his students. If ever you have a problem, he tries to help you, and usually does. He actively involves the students in the class which helps them learn better.

He is the MAN. I drove all the way from Boca to Lake Worth for his class. If you don't understand anything he will explain it again until you get it. he reviews before each test and tells you what is going to be on the test. 5 tests and final and you can drop one.I didn't even know a spanish word (no even how to say hi in spanish) but I got an A.

Professor slessinger is the coolest teacher in the world...he helps his students and will even stay 1 on 1 with you after class if you need help!! He is also very funny and sexy as hell...he is retired army officer with an honorable discharge and a noble american!! We would recommend this teacher to anyone interested in taking any spanish class

Professor Slessinger is a great professor. He's very laid back, and relaxed. He doesn't really have any plan for what he teaches, and does jump around in the material a lot. He keeps everyone until the very last second of every class. He reviews everything before the test and tells you what will be on it. Tests are often, but easy.

He is a pretty good teacher. It can be hard but if you really want to learn spanish then he is great. Test arent to hard.

Very effective teaching. Great balance of lecturing and also getting in verbal use practice. Always prepares class for exactly whats on the test and the tests seem to cover everything that was taught without proving too difficult.

Mr. Slesinger was the best teacher I've had since I started at PBCC. He is so interesting to listen to, and helps you with anything and everything. I do recommend attending mostly all of his classes, he's not to crazy on absent students. Anyways, if your learning or taking spanish, pick him!!!!

He is a good teacher, and knows the material, but is not quite as easy as everyone makes him out to be. You must REALLY study for his class, and KEEP all the work that you do.

Slesinger is helpful and everything but I dreaded going to his class. It was real boring for me but I got through it. As long as you study and review everything you should be alright. I got a C and I barely tried and attended class. Just make sure you attend class. Yeah and I am taking again next semester.

I have no idea if the people below took the same class as I did. I was able to pull a B in the class but I studied more than any class I've taken, and I consider myself pretty good at spanish. he likes to put you on the spot, and if you get the answer wrong, he keeps hounding you until you get the answer. An overall nice guy, just a little strict.

If u dont want 2 be called on-don't take-When u get answer wrong-he focuses completely on u til he eventually works out the sentence 4 u & u feel like ur in kindergarten b-4 he moves on to next victim. The more u get wrong-the more u get called on. If u r absent-plan on getting nailed w/ questions the next class u r there -he came off as pompus

He loves to get the class involved. He will call on you all the time-Trust me. It's very important to study- His tests are SO LONG....atlest 4-5 pages usually. He's an awesome teacher though-Very helpful-Sometimes a lil grumpy- But also has a good sense of humor :-)

Probably the best Spanish teacher at this campus. Hes not an easy A, but really who is? Tells you whats on the tests the class before, very little to no surprises. Study and you'll do fine, I have an A and only study for about an hr before the class tests. Expect to answer questions in class, if you pay attention and do you homework you'll be ok

I had this teacher for spanish 1, and I'm still convinced hes' the best teacher teaching this subject at PBCC. You have to be able to study in his class, this is not an easy A, but you will come out of it with a better understanding of the Spanish language.

He will help you until you understand a concept. Extremely boring class if you have taken 2 or more yrs of high school span or are a native speaker. If so, I recommend taking it online. If you prefer class setting, he's the one to take it with. Fairly easy tests and tons of HW. Lots of participation, which is annoying sometimes.Cocky attitude.

Great teacher! I took him for spanish 1 & 2, going to class is kind of important because if you miss it you will be lost. He will make sure that you understand everything. Whatever he tells you will be on the test, WILL BE ON THE TEST. Tests are easy. You do not need to buy the book, just myspanishlab.

GREAT PROFESSOR! No surprises, calls on students a lot must participate. MSL extremely important! But he does accept all late work which is cool, no points off. Gives a review usually the week before with nothing left out. Final isn't over everything learned just the chapter discussed. Would def. recommend & take for SPN 2. Drops lowest test

Slesinger is fantastic. He expects you to participate so do the homework and you'll be fine. He explains everything very clearly. I never felt unprepared for the tests. As long as you put forth the effort you'll be fine.

This professor is extremly knowlegeable, however he is not that easy leveled if you're not responsable. As for non spanish speekers i do not recomend this professor at all. He does work better with students that have some knowlege of the language prior to the class.

He is more than fair, as is shown through xtra credit for translations of homework. True that he moves at a quick pace, yet he will stop and review material until you understand. He offers help after class in his office, and there is a lab as well for assistance. If you do not have a high aptitude for languages like me, do not let that deter you!!

Very helpful. He doesn't go on lessons until everyone understands. We watched a few documentaries in class that didn't have much to do with Spanish, but he loves teaching. He gives a lot of extra credit if you need it. Do the work. As in learning any new language, practice makes perfect. So study hard and you will do great. The tests are also fair.

Taught me Spanish, for I had no second language requirement in high school. This was not an easy task, but the instructor seemed to make it easy through lectures, handouts, and practice sessions. His uncanny ability to correlate Spanish with English was extremely helpful. I applaud his teaching style, for learning another language is not easy.

He is the most helpful professor I have seen in entire PBSC. His tests are overall easy. Not a easy A but if you study his homework assignments and online assignments you will be in great shape. In addition he gives lots of extra credit and drops lowest test score. I would recommend him to anyone.

He is an awesome professor! I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn Spanish. My son ended up in the ICU and had to miss 3 classes in a row and he was very understanding and caught me up to what I was missing. He is very sweet and I plan on taking him for Spanish 2.

I've always been horrible with language but he made it easy for me. Everyone else in the class had taken Spanish before or spoke Spanish, and I did not but I followed along and got an A. He drops lowest test grades and gives extra credit for homework all the time.

Profesor Slesinger is a very helpful and easy going Spanish teacher. I was a little worried after Day 1. But he gives plenty of assignments and test to help you gain knowledge of the new language. I got an A on every test and really just got there by doing what was told and trying my best. A lot of work but, wouldn't choose anyone else.

He's a good professor. I was not able to come to class one day and he lets retake a test even though I didn't have a medical excuse. He's laid back and the class is easy. He gives you everything you need to study and succeed. You just have to utilize it. I took him for Elemantary Spanish 2 and got an A as well.

Professor Slesinger is one of the best! I had him for Spanish 2 and it is hard to not pass his class. Translate your hw from Spanish to English and you will get extra credit. Do all of your connect. If you miss a class get your make up work. He really only uses your text book for the vocab on your tests not much for anything else.

Professor Slesinger was a great instructor. The classes included lectures and class participation. If you use and understand the study guides, you should do very well on the tests. The textbook was not needed except for vocab. words. His teaching style was easy and the class was fun. I would definately take this professor again.

Took for ENC1101 & 1102 with the goal of getting a good foundation for actually learning Esp. If you want an A, show up, do the homework, stay on top of the online stuff!, and right before the test he goes over everything that will be on the test exactly. If you want to learn span, also use Duolingo, study extra vocabulary, & practice speaking

Professor Slesinger is great at explaining concepts in a way that anyone can understand. He offers extra credit (2-4 pts) for each homework assignment. The class is very heavy on participation so be prepared. Always reviews tests beforehand. The Connect code comes with an ebook version for free. This is not a class where only Spanish is allowed.

Very funny and very helpful almost to the point that he will spend the entire class period explaining something if one student doesn't understand. Gives homework generally every class but it is a simple worksheet. Very patient with students that have trouble understanding a simple concept.

One of the best professors I've ever taken. As a working, adult student , who is almost finished with my bachelor degree, I put off taking a foreign language as long as I could. Spanish 1120 was a disaster. While I passed I didn't learn a thing. Spanish 1121 was totally different. Professor Slesinger is the only professor I would take for Spanish.

You have to show up to class to pass because he gives homework and in class assignments (very easy) but he tells you everything that will be on the test, and gives you a review before each one. If you translate the homework assignments he will give extra credit. He has a sense of humor as well.

I enjoyed this class. Tests are pretty much the reviews he gives out with the addition of the vocab. A lot of homework though, this wouldve been a perfect class without the online work If anything it just confuses me. You need a dedicated time to study to get an A.

Professor Slesingers instruction is clear and to the point. Show up, participate, complete work sheets and pre-tests, study and youll make a good grade. He is one of the best professors at Palm Beach State and I highly recommend him. You will learn under his instruction as long as you apply yourself.

He cares about his students, wants them to pass, and takes the time to explain the material until it is fully understood. Students know exactly what will be on the test and are given sufficient time to prepare.

Amazing! Professor, Hes caring, kind, and easy. Test are weigh heavily, but he provides extra credit on worksheets, and he assigns overload assignments on connect access due 3 days before semester ends (200 pts). Very time consuming and tedious. I suggest you do not wait till the end to get started on connect, once youre assigned get started now.

Professor Slesinger truly is incredible. I took the class and he truly made it enjoyable because Spanish can be kinda boring but his humor made it fun. He is clear on the grammar rules and such and is overall a solid choice.

I received an A in this course, and the tests arent so bad once you realized his strategy. He will give you a clear and accurate study guide of about 80% of the actual test. The real tests will have vocab from the book.

He was awesome for Spanish 1 and 2. He really cares about his students and does anything possible to help you pass. Make sure to do the connect because that is an easy A and worth almost to letter grades. He gives you almost all the answers for the test with the practice test besides the vocab.

I was scared to take my first language class, but Professor Slesinger is nothing to fear. He is very much about "If you don't want to try hard, I'm not gonna waste my time forcing you to." But that being said, this was the easiest of my 5 classes this semester. If you get anything less than a B, it's likely to be your own fault.

So, Professor Slesinger is an amazing teacher! He genuinely wants you to succeed and gives ample chances for extra credit (on all homeworks). He is funny and entertaining to interact with. The way he explains the grammar points makes the content very easy to understand. He is very approachable. I can promise you won't regret taking his class.

The professor really is kind, caring, funny and helpful. The class is a definite easy A if you do and remember exactly everything he gives you. What he goes over will be on the tests exactly as he gives it. You do need the online code because his homework requires it, and it can be a little bit of work but it is not hard. You are going to love him.

This is a really great professor to have if you have no background in another language. As long as you try to pass, you will. There is a lot of homework but it is all pretty easy if you take some notes in class. He is very kind, and very understanding.

I took this professor for both SPN1120 and SPN1121 and passed both classes with an A. He makes the material easy to understand and is willing to spend extra time on anything you don't understand. He cares about his students. You won't regret taking him!!

i was so disappointed i couldn't take him for 1121. i found his worksheets and reviews helpful, and i enjoyed the way he conducted class. i'm pretty good at spanish but even if you're awful at languages you should give this guy a try, he spent extra time w students who needed it.

His class very easy & straightforward. Hw consists of short worksheets & online connect assignments. You have to attend & participate every single class otherwise you'll be super lost. He likes to randomly call on people too. Textbook is req & it's cheaper to get the eBook version than the physical, you mainly only need it for the hw & tests.

It's a foreign language you have to practice regardless. if this isn't your first language Then you'll have some difficulties but awesome professor, lots of homework and practice work but its useful to master the language. you dont need the textbook if your online they have one online.
