She is so sweet and fun, she knows what she's doing and makes the class feel comfortable.

Well yes, she is sweet and fun, but she gives so much material in one day, that your head will blow. She uses powrpnt every in every class and as soon she finished, she jumps to another slide, no matter you finished or not. Tests are so hard (1st was on cell biology) I know that I knew everything, but still got D+, but she raised it to C.

She is sweet and kind teacher. She uses powerpoint to teach the class. Her powerpoint is very hard to see and she writes very small on the board. She changes slides very quickly after she's done. Her quize is pretty straight forward form the notes. She gives a lot of lectures. Her test is completely tricky and a little bit hard.

I thought she was great! I didnt expect to do so well at first but I was surprised to see I got an A! Ya she goes a little fast on the Power Points but helloooo their available online don't cry about it. Her quizes are a great way to prepare for the tests. Oh ya AND SHES FUN AND SWEET!

Exams can be confusing/tricky, w/ quizzes almost weekly. However if you talk w/ her & ask about an upcoming quiz she'll point you in the right direction. Before all exams she gives a study sheet, USE IT. Fill it out and she'll review it w/ you and help you w/ any problems. Plenty of XC, Gibbon Center & So Cal Primate Research Forum. Nice lady.

Excellent teacher! Offered a variety of extra credit options to boost grade and always very helpful and friendly. The class was a bit too easy in my opinion.

She is a great teacher, explains lessons VERY fluently, knows what she is talking about. Textbooks arent used much; tests are mostly based on her lectures which are covered with powerpoint. Very fun and interesting class.

very easy teacher. overall you dont have to show up to class, since all of the notes are online. the class was very easy, and she is a very generous grader. if you are border line on your final grade she always bumps you you the higher one.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT! Very clear, very easy... just take notes or print the notes from WebCT and you'll do perfect on the quizzes. The same goes for the exams. She's simply the best!

The lectures were interesting though she sometimes went too fast for note-taking. Her tests were tricky but she curves them and gives extra credit. I missed only two lectures, turned in some extra credit, got passing grades on all assignments, and got an A.

For 102!Just attend the class,take notes, read the articles assigned,but do not waste time reading the book. I have had lots of good teachers in my career, but she has been the most lenient and nice teacher! She is a type of person i guess would not tell you anything even if you cuss her. shes really nice. you really dont need the book; everything is off of her lectures. her first 2 tests are kind of hard, but the third test and final are okay. an A is definataly manageable, but you have to work for it. she also gives extra credit which really does help your grade. overall it was an interesting class and you do learn a lot.

This was not an easy class. Her tests are very hard and long. Lots of things to remember. Unless you want to spend all your time memorizing things you need to know, don't take it.

Don't expect to slide thru, it isn't an easy class. The teacher is out of this world, she loves the subject, loves to teach and is so helpful and is just nice people. If you have to take the subject, be sure and get her class.

Be aware it isn't a walk in the park, you do have to study, and turn in your papers on time. She is a very caring person, just ask her for help, and she will help you to do your best.

i loved this class take good notes. memorize everything on it and youll do well. if some people think her tests are hard it is bc they didnt study seriously memorize ur notes and youll be straight.memorize evrything and you only need the articles book not the other one did i say memorize your notes? well memorize em! o and the 1 zoo project is easy

I had a hard time in this class,since i took this class during the winter, i had to study everyday.Study your notes!and read the book,ms.Buresch is really nice and she will help you in anyway she can.though her test our hard and somtimes tricky,you will have 9 quizs and 3 big test.she dont grade by a curve either!study and know ur stuff b4 the test

Do not take this class in Winter/Summer!! Buresch wants you to memorize EVERYTHING! Thus, you'll definitely need more time study! In order to pass, you MUST learn her notes by heart, carefully read the book, take good notes on the videos! Tests are tricky. However, this class is very interesting and informative!! The Zoo Project is fun!

She is an awesome teacher who knows what she's talking about. The subject itself is hard and you should study for her tests. However, the wording of her tests are the same as the in-class notes. Get off your asses print the power points and read them over a couple of times! It really wont kill you! And you'll have a very high chance of getting an A

I think she's a very good teacher. Her tests are pretty hard and I barely made an A, but she's clear on the material, is helpful about what is on the test, and is very very enthusiastic about what she teaches. She offers extra credit and sometimes offers extra credit to the class in-class for something simple, such as a worksheet we all do together

Okay, first of all (from a couple comments below)she is not unorganized, the only reason she didnt have enough final copies was because the people who NEVER showed up to class decided to show up for the final. She is EXTREMELY clear in her notes, if you do all of the study guides you will be well prepared for the tests. Dont fall behind in readings

I feel like I learned more than my grade showed. Her tests were a bit tricky. Her study guides were a big help but were not 100% of the test. My class was ALL LECTURE no need for the textbook. JUST the reader. She knows what she is talking about and is very qualified to teach the class. Her resume sounds great, just doesn't get it all to the class.

She is actually a very nice and helpful professor! I took it in a short session, didn't give much effort and got an A. Just read the articles and answer the questions on your own and go over the the slides and you will be fine.

She is a really nice teacher. But don't abuse her nice-ness. In my opinion, the way she talks is so serene that she reminds me of a storyteller and gets me sleepy. But she does her best at her job.

These people are seriously crazy. I just took her over the summer, which is supposed to be harder because of the short period to learn everything and i easily got an A.I almost didnt take the class because of these bad comments, but trust me take it. If you cant get atleast a B in that class then your honestly an idiot. Easy teacher, easy class!!!

The people that are complaining on here are the same ones that came to class, texted, slept, and then whined when they got D's on the tests. This is a COLLEGE LEVEL class as it is set up to be, and a very fair one, too. If you study what she asks, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A like I did.

Very good for physical anthropology, but not recommended for cultural , she isn't as interested in that subject, but in physical anthropology she shines.

Buresh is an amazing teacher! She made me love anthropology! Her test are long and somewhat hard. She really wants her students to do well so if you show her that you care about your grade she will definitely help you out! She is an amazing and passionate professor!

She gives you a study guide before every test which is very helpful but her tests are still very challenging. To get an A you need to show up every day, pay attention, and take good notes. Professor Buresch is the sweetest woman, ever. She is very helpful and tries to make sure that everyone understands the material. You NEED to show up in class to do well because her tests are more based on her lectures than the book. Be sure to take good notes! And do the extra credit if she offers it because points DO MATTER!

She is a good teacher/great person. Take notes, read the articles, and PAY ATTENTION in class, and you will do fine. Do the assignments and any extra credit points. Do all of the above i said and you will get an A!. Her midterms can be quite confusing/detailed at first, but you will be fine if you study hard and read the articles!

She is a great professor. She teaches with a passion, and her lectures are very fun. You will have group work, watch films, and have a chance to hear out your classmates. You really have to keep up with the readings, which are quite easy and fun. Attendance counts, and you really need to make sure you go to class to not miss any films.

Professor Buresch is amazing. She will go out of her way to help a student however she can. Super understanding and kind. It's a tough class, but this is COLLEGE. You have to work for your grade. This wasn't even close to the hardest class I've had at GCC, and I learned so much. She's really wonderful.

I did not expect Antrho to be that hard, but this class is one of the most stressful classes I have taken in college so far. Prof. Burecsh is very nice and caring but does not baby you, this is college! Show up to every class, attend SI's, and study like crazy before the test because the tests are hard! If you are thinking about transferring to a top tier university, she definitely prepares you well. One thing you can be sure about is that her exams are fair & thats all that a professor can really do in regards to exams. Its up to you to do the work. Study her slides, take good notes, record the lecture, go to SI. If its in lecture, its fair game.

Although Anthropology is a bit difficult course, you can get an A in prof. Buresch's class. She gives tons of extra credits, which helped me a lot! She is a funny, hot and energetic professor, and I guarantee you if you put a little effort, you are an A!!!

Tests are tough but all her lectures slides are on moodle focus your notes on what she says. Gives great study guides, if you fill them out, you will do well. She is passionate and dedicated. I learned so much and keep in touch with her. The book is just articles that you may be able to find online. But you need to read them. Loved this class.

Engaging, excited about topic, enjoys teaching. Attendance is a must! Lecture ppts online, good notes are most important. Do the readings all of them and note her discussion points. Study guides are EXCELLENT! Use them as pre-tests! And DO form a studydiscussion group.

The subject itself is very hard. If you like Biology, then you will like Anthro 101. If you don't like Biology, then you will have a hard time with Anthro 101. Her tests are hard, but she does offer extra credit. I'm surprised Anthro 101 is a 3 unit class; it should be a 4-5 unit class, especially the workload was intense but thats just me.

She is very clear about grading,provides ppt and links to outside learning materials as well as study sessions. The class is not easy but very doable. If you study, go to class and do extra credit you can get the A. Would recommend this professor!

Buresch is so kind, nice, and funny. But an A is going to be extremely difficult. I went to 12 hours of SI's and made my own study guides for every test and only got a B. The quizzes and exams are worded in a way where she's almost trying to trick you. i wouldn't take this class if you work or have over 12 units. shes very dedicated

I got C with her, but I have loved to be at her class and I learned more and more everyday. she was giving me hope and pushed me during the semester and help me out to pass the class. she is a tough grader but if you talk to her she will understand it. really nice individual with a strong anthropology knowledge.

Really enjoyed taking Physical Anthropology with Professor Buresch. Her class was very interesting. Tests and hard and make sure to study. Fun projects and gave extra credit. AGAIN Study for the tests and quizzes.

Professor Buresch is super sweet Her tests are pretty hard, a lot of the class didn't pass but she gives extra credit. There is a group project and you have to go to the zoo on a Saturday. She doesn't make you buy the book or take role so that's cool. She was late a lot and kind of unorganized but I enjoyed the class a lot.

I'm not going to say she's the easiest professor OR the hardest. It is an ordinary class: take good notes-almost make sure to listen to what she is saying not only the PPT. And if she puts anything on the test that doesn't make sense to the majority of the class, shell give everyone extra points. Make sure to relate her essays to your gender.

One word to describe her: scatter-brained. She's all over the place, forgetful, & soft-spoken. But BEWARE don't let that trick you. Her tests are difficult - especially the MC portion. Take notes and download the Powerpoints to look over. Pay attention to things she repeats & bolds. Read the articles. Do the assignments they're super easy points.

Buresch has a bad rep on this site from a handful of students that underestimated the (minimal) effort necessary to get the EASIEST A. Honestly, all you need to do is show up to class and take notes. Do the article readings for the quiz. Its legit straight up memorization. I usually review 1 hr before a test and get a 100%. Step ya game up yall.

The best prof Ive had in years, and this includes NYU. She is experienced, working in Africa and SE Asia with primates, knowledgeable, has a heart of gold. The reviews are from people who arent willing to put in the work. She knows her stuff, and she is willing to help. Dont be afraid to ask her anything. She enjoys teaching, and it shows.

I am not a science person in the slightest but Professor Buresch made Physical Anthropology fun! You can tell that she really cares about the subject and her students. I must admit that some of the exams are hard, but that's probably a personal thing because I'm just not good at the subject. I managed to pass! she's a really sweet lady, too!

Please take my advice and dont take her. We have at least one quiz per week and sometimes too. Weve had I believe 8 exams . The tests are so hard , even the people that study are shocked . If you miss even one class, you will not understand anything in the next class

This class was surprisingly easy for me, I thought I was going to struggle in this class but I ended up passing this class with an A the lectures are long but easy to understand the tests are easy if you do the study guides, and gives out plenty of extra credit my favorite was going to the gibbon center which was a new and interesting experience

as an anthro major, i found prof buresch's class motivating & insightful! wonderfully charming professor, i enjoyed all her lectures & assignments (there wasnt many)! only a couple exams & relied on lectures w/ powerpoints & note taking & mini readings etc. not very difficult, study guides provided & i felt the class to be a pleasant experience!

SO MANY extra credit opportunities, that you will get the grade you want. Yes, her lectures and tests are boring and confusing, but you will get much more out of her than a grade. Guys she gives you the opportunity to meet the people in your class and do something besides academic related. She encourages coordination and helping each other out.
