She's easy going and really nice. It's a pretty easy class. I missed the final paper and still got a B in the class. I highly recommend her!

Awesome teacher. She's so helpful and really wants you to understand what you're doing. She gives you tons of opportunities to get extra credit and to correct your work so you can get more points. I recommend her to everyone.
The way that she gives assignments are so easy. Only 2 test, plus the final exam. You can earn extra credits. The class is more like "politics" than English.

I'm taking this teacher in this semester at the begining was kinda hard in grading but now at end she won't even look to ur revise paper and she will give u 100 % plus she will give u an opportunity to revise ur essay exam in class by watching a documentary of 9/11.. She is not bad i'll recommend it to u guys.
Ms. Cliett is one easy teacher. She is not too strict on her paragraphs. I'm getting a A in the class. Just do the essay and read the homework and you will do fine. I HIGHLY recommend her.
She is kind of easy,but make sure you dont get on her bad side, even though she will still give you a ridiculously low grade on your papers, Overall the class was easy, but watch what mood she may be in when grading your papers cuz it will screw up your grades really bad.I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!
At first its all great u get A's on ur papers she easy on you makes u feel as if ur passing, she gives progress reports and lets u know that ur passing, its all easy. then shes gets moody and shes changing. and ur grades start decreasing by the time u check ur grades on web ur a letter down she screws u over and its too late to do anything about it
Terrible! her class is more like a political science class. all she talks about is politics. she will have you write essays about 9/11 and rsearch papers. gives a lot of extra credit, BUT at the end of class, you will realze that this extra credit is worth nothing. i do not recommend her to anyone.
oh god!!! dont never take any class with her. she doesnot know how to respcet others. moreover that her class like a political sci. what i think she knows only the word terrorism...if you really care about your grades dont even think to take her class. there is alot of teachers so pick another one than her.
****, the only thing she talks about is 9/11. i mean until today, who does not know about the 9/11 attacks. if she is so concerned about politics, why doesn't she talk about gas prices!! 9/11 is not a subject that would be discussed in a classroom.
dont listen to these people she is the best teacher. when i first walked into class she was so mean and i was going to drop the class but i stuck to it and it was so easy i am the worst in english and i got an A+ in her class.
Her grading is harsh. Brings her emotions into the classroom. Watch her when she has a bad day. Quizes were rediculous asking questions like "this phase is written on what line number" and "how many pages does the book have." My final essay group all ditched the class becuase the final essay expectations were absurd.
The best teacher is Ms. Cliett . I took English 081 with her. it was realy nice. She teaches realy good . She doesn't give home work alot.
I have decided to rate her a 2nd time after reading some horrible things. I took her 2 years ago, she was a very good teacher, doesnt give much homework, and what she does give are fairly quick and easy. That is NOT her picture and I dont know about the Nutshell quote. I love this woman. She speaks her mind, even if it is about 9/11
She is nice, what I like about her that she helps you alot with take-home essays. If you done with them before the due date, she will look at them and correct them for you, and will tell you what to change. The class is not hard, but you need to spend some time on it. i'm very bad in english but i got A in her class. I like her.

20 paragraphs Res paper. 3essays 10pa each. hard grading.if ur arab (dont show u dont know english) if u do ur scrod.60% of the arab in class are C or faling her class.<she dosnt like arab.so good luck to all arab who going to take her class>.she going to tell u ur passing her class.then she gavie u D. Mrs. Cliett is a very good professor. Her class is a breeze. We had 3 papers (10 paragraphs each), 1 research paper (20 paragraphs), 2 in class essay exams (4 paragraphs), and a final. I got all A's on my paper. If you pay attention and are good at writing you will do fine. She also gives a TON of extra credit!!!

She was a good professor. Her final exam was from the extra credit quizzes we take in class every week. The essays were not too hard. And the best part is, everything was group work, even the extra credit quizzes. Reading at home is required though. I think she gives you 2 days off a semester for no reason. And she is fair, she does not discriminat

Useless! All we did for class was read essays from the Bedford Reader and take quizzes on them almost every single class that required most study time than they were worth, she expected us to remember the most useless facts! I learned NOTHING to do with with writing. It was more of a social studies class, but by all means, take her for an easy A.

This is the worst English teacher, rather the worst teacher I have ever had. She is an inept, underqualified, incompetent teacher; you'll find mistakes in most of what she writes. Her exams are 20 minutes of scrambling around to find what page this was on, and what was said in such and such line...
Horrible-- please listen to me! I took her online, and after speaking to several classmates I realized WE ALL had the same problems with her. She doesn't respond to emails, her due dates have discrepencies and she is slow to grade. Very unorganized and rude, when she bothers to return an email. This class will ruin your life-- what a headache!!

Yes, she is a hard teacher, and yes she has a difficult personality. Oh, and yes to the discrepancies. No one is perfect! My experience in her class was interesting because of the points described above. Ms. Cliett IS a fair teacher if you follow instructions and ask for help BEFORE you get a poor grade.
I took her class for 131. she was nice, but by the end she got evil. She is a real moody teacher and the way she grades is how she feels that day. She uses her power as a teacher to screw ur grade. DO NOT take her unless ur a SUCK UP
I was kinda surprised when i saw all these bad reviews on her! I hate english and im horrible at papers, but she doesn't even care about the content! This class is such a blowoff to me. All she checks is the gramatical stuff. I reccommend taking her class 50% online - lectures one hr twice a week, and all work is done and submitted online. EASY!

Cliett is one of the easiest Eng teachers at HFCC. She respects her students and most of her students if i can't say all of them got As. She seems hard at the begining but she is so easy and helpful.
If you fail this class your dumb, its an easy class. The only way you can do bad is if you don't show up and you can't read or comprehend simple english. She's great. One of the best english teachers i've ever had.
Don't take her! Takes forever to answers your e-mails, & when she does she gives you a cocky response & makes you feel stupid for even asking her the question. She takes forever to grade your papers. Doesn't e-mail you if she isn't gonna be in class, & twice didn't even put a sign on the door, she just didn't show up to class. Horrible teacher!

So nice, and very easy eng course. Do the readings that she assigns and her essays are very simple. Has group work and makes her class fun. She was the first eng teacher i took and i got an A+. Take her you wont regret it.

She is a very easy teacher, as long as you do the assignments and listen to her directions. She gives a lot of extra credit and gives a lot of time on assignments. I have never done well in an English class until I had her.
I do not know why everyone is so hard on prof cliett. She takes her job very seriously, and as long as you take her class very seriously you will do alright. she responded to my emails, and even had understanding for a late paper i turned in. i had ms cliett my first semester at HF and she encouraged me alot!

She is not a good teacher. She doesn't even read over your essays. I turned in an essay that I had written 15 min before it was due and she gave me a 120/100, that's a great grade but i did not learn anything from her. She takes off 25 points every time you are absent, even if you have a reason. She is very rude and does not answer emails.

Professor Cliett was overall unpleasant to have as a teacher. She has a very condescending attitude towards people based upon her perceived notion of first impressions. While I did receive a B in her class, Professor Cliett was very unorganized and unprofessional at times during my semester. She is fairly easy just don't make her mad for any reason

i had her for english 131 and 132. She was easier in 131. but shes very nice and gives lots of extra credit.dont take her online classes. shes more harder in her online classes. but i still recommened her to those who will show up in class and do their work
I took her for English 131 and 132. All of our assignments were submitted online which I really liked. However, the fact that she is an English teacher and had constant errors in spelling and punctuation on our assignments, was completely unacceptable. The assignments were easy and I received A's, but she is one of the worst teachers I've had.
I just wanna say that V. Cliett does not grade fairly. She promised to grade my essay, but never did. She took away all of my extra credit when I had 5 absences. When I called her out on it, it then looked like I had 15. hahah. Whatever. Do not take her. She's truly unfair.
She never replay on e-mials and always late to grade the assignments. She does alot of mistakes and never apologize. Not friendly at all. my advice IS don't even think to take any class with her. You will never learn anything, because she has a lot of problems.
Prof. Cliett is not a bad teacher to take, she makes class fun with lots of group extra credit activites. She grades pretty easy as long as you know your grammer. She is, however, not very helpful when you send an email or ask in class. I would recommend her.

Good teacher. I had to do 4 essays, 2 essay tests and a research paper but none were expected to be more than 4-5 pages. Pretty much everything done in class is for extra credit with your peer group. failing this class would take a lot of effort.
I passed her class with a C. When it comes to writing papers, she marks you down hard for every mistake you make in your paper. i like the extra credit part in the class it help my grade alot. I Ms.Cliett but i think she should losen up.
She has too much attitude for an instructor..wasn't very helpful either..she acted as if you should know this information already...i just wasn't pleased with her methods of teaching.

She is miserable. She takes it out on her students. She always replies to my email, but she's mean and patronizes me and makes me feel like I'm 5. I complete all the work she gives within the day she posts it and she tells me i dont pay attention to her announcements. She's horrible and I would not recommend her.
She takes of extreme points for misplaced commas and if you have a problem with your computer she doesn't care, for instance if your computer crashes and you can't do your work. She'll say to bad.

I took Professor Cliett for Fall semester 2010. I thought she was awesome. LOTS of extra credit. I passed with 101.5%. I'm hoping to take her for Eng 132.
Not recommended! She gives tons of extra credit because she grades crazy. If u miss 1 class thats 25 points lost! She dosent try to help u correct anything, she will just give an F. She gave me an F on my paper, I asked what I did wrong an she went off! So I took it to the learning lab another teacher gave me a B+ an she said grow up! So I dropped.
RUN!!!!! TAKE YOUR TRANSCRIPT AND RUN!! she will make you feel like you are worthless and incapable. Annoying too...i dont like the way she talks. Doesn't give two stuffs about you.
The only thing that I liked about her class was that she offered a ton of extra credit. Her assignments weren't too hard and a lot of it was online. She is not a very pleasant person, though. I once asked her a question about my final paper and she started yelling at me. Her work isn't bad, but she is a pretty rude person.

The worst at HFCC
She doesn't really seem to want to be there but it's a good class if you like writing. Don't get discouraged about your grade because she seems to grade easier as time goes on. Be prepared to read a lot and write even more. If I got an A, any one can.

I received an a in her class but i would not recommend her to my worst of enemy. The work is not bad, but her grading is harsh. She does offer a lot of extra credit and a lot of work is in groups. Class started with around 30 students and ended with 7. 5 people total passed. A lot of reading and essays. Must give it your all for an A or B.
I really want to advice everybody to run away form this teacher she is the worst and she makes students feel downs.

Here is why: doesn't help at ALLL,very harsh grader,unorganized, comes late to class BUT one good thing on her,gives a plenty of extra credit. I love ENG, my best subject so it was easy for me...but if you need help do not take her! Not helpful, and all you do is group work everyday. She never really teaches, as she just hands out group papers on punctuation, writing etc. which count as extra credit if you get them right. Do good on essays and youll be fine,& responsible and do your work
