Had no interest in geog but loved this class. Victoria is adorable and makes cute jokes. Always willing to help. Tests are managable if you study. All assigments are in class with partners and easy. One "map book" project which was like 4th grade work. I would recomend this class to anyone! Very interesting and great prof.

Great class. She kept it light and fun. Doesn't take herself seriously. Loves Kansas basketball. If you read the assignments, pay attention and take notes (and she's clear about many things that will be on the tests), there's no reason you can't get a A in this class.

Although her attendance isn't mandatory, It's best that you attend because, all the lecture she gives will be on the test! also she'd the best yet, funniest teacher I've had. She's in love with her jokes too. So be prepared for it!

You learn everything you need to know in class so you don't need the book. Tests are easy if you were in class. The final is not accumulative.She grades very easy and is very nice. I would take her class again.

Victoria is a wonderful professor. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the material. I intend to take more classes with this professor. Pay attention in class and you won't need to read the textbook. Minimal homework in this class with the exception of one semester-long project.

First off Victoria Downey is a great teacher. Second off she is very pretty. Downey could teach a class about a filing tax returns and make it funny and enjoyable. Such a fun class, funny, not to difficult, she will help you. Cant say enough. Oh, and she is attractive.

I forgot that I liked geography until I had her. She makes things interesting and fun to learn. I plan on taking another class with her next semester. She's very honest and helpful as long as you are willing to put in some effort. It's one of those classes were if someone is being disrespectful to her, everyone gets mad because shes that good.

3 tests group work daily, and one big group project. I took hybrid and in class so there were weekly discussion posts to do. Victoria is super nice and funny, I would recommend any of her classes because shes so great. Group work really isnt bad don't let that stop you from taking her classes.

Ms. Victoria Downey is a great professor. Very helpful. Expect to participate in group discussions everyday in class. I took the hybrid class so every week you are expected to complete a discussion online as well. She provides a study guide for her tests. As long as you study and attend lectures, you'll do fine.

Follow the study guides she posts and you will know everything you need to know for the exam. She even offers extra credit.

Prof. Downey really had a way of making geography enjoyable. I have never liked geography, but this class was a good choice. The workload was easier than I expected and her lectures covered all information on the quizzes. She'll crack jokes at random times, and it's the best. Study for the exams, and as long as you take notes well, you'll be fine.

Her lectures are wonderful! She keeps things interesting, and gives you valuable information. It was nothing like your average geography class and I would recommend her courses to anyone, love, love, love her teaching style!

She is very energetic and joyful! Very hyped about things that may seem unusual to most people. When the class is dull, she remains very enthusiastic. The tests aren't difficult if you understand and memorize key terms. Not much homework, so it's not a stressful class. Also, you interact frequently with those around you for peer/group discussions.

I have never been a huge fan of geography but I actually ENJOY this class. She is absolutely hilarious to me and I am constantly chuckling throughout class. Not an easy A but if you try the regular amount you will do well. Very nice and she is a very good, clear teacher. Definitely recommend.

Shes so cute! Very, very, very kind and understand that youre probably not going to be a geography major. This is not a heavy or intensive class, but she skims the top of all subjects just to give you a broad idea. Her test are easy and relevant to the material. Work hard on the larger point assignments b/c it will reflect in your grades.

Super easy class, and lectures go over everything on the test so if I had to do it over I wouldn't even buy the books because we didn't use them. She has a true passion for what she teaches which also helps. Every week we had one homework assignment and one discussion with a total of two tests.

Super nice Professor that makes class enjoyable. Take notes, complete the exercises/assignments, study before exams, and you'll be set! The exercises are not hard and most of the time you complete them in class. The tests are also all based off of what you took notes on and they're very easy to study for. Professor Downey is hands down one of the greatest professors I've ever had. I fell behind in attendance, but was able to work with her on that through email communication. When I was there, she gave amazing and hilarious lectures that kept you engaged the entire 75 minutes. Physical Geography is a very simple course if you know your stuff.

Took her hybrid class. She is very passionate about climate change, I am not.. That made some of the lecture difficult BUT as long as you show up and get your work in on time it's a pretty easy pass! She really is so great. Very easy going and entertaining to listen too.

Professor Downey was a phenomenal professor. Bubbly, witty, extremely kind, and always geeking out about random geographical facts. Plus, she is willing to listen if you are having personal issues and accommodate accordingly. Lectures are fun, be prepared to discuss topics with random classmates, and stay on top of the readings.

She gave really good lectures that were easy to listen to and made sure you knew what would be on the test. She responds to emails pretty quickly. She gives plenty of opportunity to earn extra credit and is flexible with late assignments and quizzes.

Victoria is a great professor! We had a lecture almost everyday but it never got old. They were always interesting and she kept me engaged. I thought her tests were kind of difficult even when she handed out a study guide beforehand. You will have a map book assignment to do throughout the semester. I would recommend her to anybody though!

Probably the only professor in existence who perfectly melds approachability and hilarity enough to make her course easy while being erudite, passionate and knowledgeable enough to not dumb her course down. The passion Mrs. Downey has for her subject is unreal, only Downey can get as excited as she does pontificating on the properties of soil types

The class was relatively easy, each week there is a notes video, discussion, and untimed quiz. Some weeks there is an extra assignment and there are only 2 tests in the class. The test wasn't too hard but make sure to take notes.

I took her class as a summer semester course. Victoria made her lectures very engaging and used many relatable examples to make learning easy and fun. She posted everything the first day of the week so it was easy to get ahead. The quizzes werent time, the 2 tests had a 90 minute time limit. It was plenty of time to finish though. Would recommend.

One of the best professors I've had at AR! Made it clear she was here for all students and ready to help whenever you may need her. Her lectures were easy to follow. Discussion each week but were quite easy and only required one reply to another student for full credit. Highly recommend if you're able to get a spot in one of her courses.

Professor Downey is one of those professors that seems to love what she's doing and the topics she's teaching. She gives excellent feedback and even feels engaging for an asynchronous class. There's a bit of work and some of the quiz questions are more of the deep tracks than the greatest hits.

If you follow the Weekly assignments you will succeed. Content of class is very dense and informative. Greatly enjoyed the class but if you dont participate in posts you will fall behind.

The lectures were very entertaining and interesting! We had a chapter to read and a discussion each week along with quizzes every other week. There were only 2 exams which were fairly easy. Prof. Downey is caring and laid back. She is not a harsh grader and is fair. I highly recommend any class with her!

I've had many classes where I've fallen asleep trying to watch video lectures, but she was never one of them! The disc posts are unusually long, but they helped me learn.

Her class was super easy. Every week there is a reading, a video lecture, and a discussion. Every other week there is a short quiz. There are two exams. Professor Downey grades very leniently. The discussions are very easy and the quizzes are only ten questions.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! she was 100% dedicated to my learning and was very flexible. we did one lecture and discussion post a week, and as long as you meet the word count and write a response you get full credit. she was very kind and passionate about what she does. take her!!

She makes class fun and lighthearted while making sure that all of the material is organized and explained. Her class is the most organized that I've taken.

Offers plenty of extra credit too. 45 min long lecture video, discussion post (original and reply), and a 10 question quiz every week. All easy though and she's an easy grader! Got A's on both exams, also very easy.

Victoria is understanding, kind, and it is clear that she truly cares about the topics she teaches. Class included a weekly Zoom meet, a discussion or activity each week, and a final project. The activities require some research and time dedication, but you are likely to receive a 100 as long as you follow the guidelines and turn it in.

Hands down one of the most amazing professors at AR. Easy classwork - one discussion post, short assignment, and ten question quiz every two weeks. Everything you need to know on the quizzes are given in a compact powerpoint and no big tests. Easy class, great professor.

I took Victoria's sustainability class. She makes class engaging and give credit for showing up. No textbook was used instead she uses up-to-date articles and gives a very well rounded education.

She is such a great Professor! She enjoys what she teaches, is easily accessible for questions during her two weekly zoom meetings and gives good feedback on all assignments. Her class had very little work load which consisted of 1 discussion post and a short lecture every week. Along with a quiz or an assignment every week.

Easy class, grading is light. Weekly tests, biweekly activities and quizzes. 2 Exams and an essay question but honestly both are fine. She says you need to read the textbook but I stopped reading it after the first exam and got an A on Exam 2 so you should be fine not reading. Do the study guide and you will be fine.

amazing professor, recommend. so caring & will give you an extension if you reach out to her. discussion posts every wk, quiz and hw assignments on different weeks so you are not overwhelmed. a mid term and final and you are all done. very easy class, just make sure to do extra credit options just in case u have a bad test score and want an A.

This class was great to take with Victoria. The requirements for all the assignments were very clear and very easy to manage. Every week remained the same for what assignments you had to do throughout the semester. I had no bad experiences with this professor.

She is considerate and quick to respond to emails. The lectures are nicely laid out and easy to understand. Unlimited test-taking time so there's no need to worry about a time limit.

You can tell Victoria loves what she does. You intake a lot of information throughout the course so it can seem really daunting at times, but she preps you well for exams and is very thorough. Don't be afraid to ask questions and really engage during lectures and follow through on notes. Highly recommend for Geography

Amazing is immeasurable to how fun this professor is. I absolutely love her class so far. The first exam got me twisted, but then I got use to it and it was good from there. The only HW you get are exercises about the topic, which you can do with a partner, if you so choose. I have a friend in that class, so it literally made every second fun.

Victoria is so awesome! I enjoyed her class. Her lectures are awesome. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! She has a list of extra credit to do, I highly suggest completing the extra credit.

Prof. Downey was fantastic. Pay close attention to her lectures because basically everything you need to know is in them. You still have to read the textbook though. On average, about one chapter a week. There is a midterm and a final. She is a slow grader. She also offers extra credit. I highly recommend Prof. Downey she was amazing.

Where do I begin! Her lectures are recorded, and she teaches the information in a fun yet informative manner. We read one chapter every week, weekly discussion post (1 OG & 1 response), had a quiz every other week, two major tests (final's not cumulative), and one project. Very easy, and Victoria really cares about your success! Highly recommend

Taken as a condensed Summer class, lots of stuff to do per week but nothing too difficult. Tests were easy and open book but with only 10 questions it's easy to make a mistake and drop a letter grade. Easy grader with a lot points for discussions & activities. Course material is interesting and she does a good job w/lectures.

Prof. Downey is amazing! Class is super easy, she's so funny, and makes the content interesting. There's only a few tests and weekly quizzes, but again all very doable if you pay attention. Textbook is accessible but I rarely used it. Attendance is 5 points off each time after the first two misses. If you need any geography classes, take her class!

Took an online class every week. Had great lectures and kept material engaging, including group activities/breakout rooms to discuss topics. 10/10 would take again.

For my first semester at Anoka-Ramsey, I couldn't have asked for a better professor. She had helped me with choosing the path that is right for me, and also got me in contact with people to help continue my career when I graduate. I will for sure be in her class again.

Amazing, I loved her. She was funny and interactive when teaching. Class has a good mix of slides, discussions, videos, etc. Grades nicely and never has anything bad to say about your work. Very understanding and accommodating to your concerns. Exams are not accumulative. She gives a group presentation but allows you to make a video if you want.

I took this class over the summer meaning it was a condensed 4 week class. She is very honest in saying to not get behind as it is a lot of material to cover each week. She is an amazing instructor, very informative, and kind. I learned a lot in her class, it was challenging, but would highly recommend her to anyone needing this class!
