Pretty easy class if you go everyday. No need for the book really. Most of the exams go off the lectures and the study guide. All multiple choice and some home essays. Very entertaining curriculum and visuals.

going to class is one thing but students tend to lose concentration in her class from boring lectures. you should definitely attend all the classes because her midterm are based on lecture notes. make SURE you don't fall asleep and take good notes.

Fairly easy, all notes, book not needed. a couple papers in the semester to do, and studying the notes guarantees a good grade. good lecturer too, class can be boring at times, but she tries to make it interesting

Best Bio teacher ever! Easy to understand and funny. 2 essays, 3 exams and a final. Exams are all from the class notes. Some questions can be tricky. Overall this class is easy. Don't need the book. No curves.

you have to go to this class everyday but it's hard to stay awake past the first 10 minutes of class. extremely boring. even though you need to know everything from her lectures, barely anyone showed up for this class.

everyone says she is easy, in fact she is, but less than 10% to 20 % of the students (out of 300 sth) get an A in her class... so you decide who to take. yes, book is not needed. 2 papers, 3 midterms, 1 final. Must attend all class if no body take note for you. other then that...ZZZzzzZZ

I agree with everyone else. Unless you are in the market for a biology book dont buy it. The content of the course is roughly what you learn in high school bio, so if you remember anything from there, you will not have problems in this class. She makes some pretty bad jokes :o(

yes i agree, this is an easy class, also agree that if you are looking for an "A" you need to consider that out of about 400 students in this semester there are only 12 students got an A.. go to see the grades she posted in front of her office if you wanna understand what im taking about.

Very good teacher. Brings up lots of interesting and perinent facts in lectures and trys to keep the students attetion even though lectures sometime get very boring. I pulled a B in this class with very little studying and no hw except 1 research paper that was graded very easily.

Attend all the lectures and then study the notes and you'll do fine. Class material is easy and she makes corny jokes that make you laugh. Good teacher.

To me Biology was boring, but after her class, I really like it. She very caring, and will take time for you. She is super funny at times and always says "Yo People!". I would take any class with her again.

omg so funny-she is really silly-and its great. if you plan on going to every class write down everything on the overhead and you dont have to buy a book--its useless--i didnt--just really study for the tsests. the two papers are graded SOOO easy

I love her. You don't have to buy the textbook, but she always insist on buying it. Everything is basically based on her wonderful and fun lectures and examples she gives in class. If you study, pay attention, take good notes, you should do well.

her lectures are funny at the beginning then they get kinda long and boring, i fell asleep a few times...ok everytime. but she explains things really well and her tests are super easy, based off of the lectures so DONT BUY THE BOOK! also she color co-ordinates her tests, but they're all the same anyways.

This class is easy as long as you go to class. Most of the questions come right out of the lectures. There are only about 3 homework assignments. Grade: A-

Victoria is HILARIOUS! She is such a fun and outgoing teacher, she cracks me up... She relates biology to everyday life, and cracks jokes all the time. I enjoy going to the lectures because i really learn from the notes she gives us. Everything on the tests are straight from the lectures... so i insist that you attend class... i recommend this class to anyone, especially if you've taken Biology in high school, it's a basic overview of all that and will definitely guarantee you a good grade.

I believe that this class was easy. Johnson is a nice professor and she tries to be funny. She is not a hard grader, you just got to do your work if you want a good grade. there are only three assignments, the questions on the tests are from lecture. So if anything go to clas for the lectures. If you take her class you are asking for an easy A.

You must go to class to get a good grade. The topic is interesting enough and she just makes it better. She teaches human sexuality from the biology perspective. Stay on top of the assignments and you'll get a good grade. Otherwise you will end up writing 5 short papers in a single night...

I had this professor as a freshman in 1984 and I can say that she was so good that I still remember everything I learned in genetics and it has gotten me through much of the tests I had to take to recently get my teaching credential and I'm not teaching 8th grade science. She was great and I learned alot. I did get an A and the labs were fun.

Good teacher with a lot of energy. Makes a borring subject exciting and relevant to everyone. If you go to class you will be fine. Just study your notes.

Be sure to take human sexuality with her! This class is super interesting and she is the perfect teacher for it. Knowledgable, enthusiastic, tolerant, shows all sides of the issues. Not to mention fantastic sense of humor. You will learn a lot and have a ton of fun.

You really don't need to buy the textbook. All you need is to attend her classes, and you must write down whatever she says. She's not really THAT easy if you don't understand the stuff she talks about.

Occasionally hilarious. Shows disturbing/gross slides in lectures. I slacked off towards the end but still wound up with a B+. Book is not needed. Don't fall asleep, take detailed notes, do the papers, study (at least 2.5 hours) and you can easily get an A. She is especially helpful during office hours.

EASY A CLASS. just show up to lecture hall every class and copy her overhead notes (her test questions are ALL based on the class notes). Teacher is extermely organized. Exam questions are given with the study guide. shows a nasty**** video at the end of the semester. A lot of interesting facts, a lot of surprises. I learned A LOT!! She is very helpful and sweet. No books necessary, but coming to class is important. Down part- gotta remember some hard tribe names.

This class is not easy. I don't know what people are talking about. Her lectures were occasionally interesting but for the most part I was bored. Her exams are relatively difficult. She grades pretty easy on the papers. She will occasionally be funny though and for the most part is a good professor, I just didn't like the subject all that much.

Attendance, doing the essays, and studying for this class is extremely important. Her midterms and finals are based on lecture notes... she also hands out study guides. I have learned a lot in this class and I must say even though I bearly passed this class (for not studying), Victoria Johnson is one of the best professors at SJSU.

She has a good and easy going personality, however she is very picky on midterms. Her Midterms are very specific.She lectures for the whole class period and does not waste a single minute.She tries to make the lecture entertaining but it can get boring. Dont bother getting the book. you wont need it even if she asks for it, just BS parts about the book and look for answers online, she gives you a study sheet of what the questions are (basically). fun class, boring sometimes. very good experience. flash cards on the questions is easiest way to get A. All of the lectures are organized and straight foward. The class is all about notes (2-4 pages) a day, but there is no homework assigned. All you need to do is go to class, listen to the lecture, and show up for the midterms.. and you will definitely do good. Overall, Victoria is a great teacher and she is very passionate in what she does!

No Book Required so you'll save money. Gives a study guide. Take specific notes on the lectures since she asks specific questions (like what example did i used for X). Really boring though. 3 midterms, 2 Easy 750 word essays, and a final. If you go to the lectures, this class will be super easy. Horrible comedian...youll see what i mean

It is impossible to get an A. LEcture is really interesting, sit in the front and you'll some pretty interesting stuff. do the review sheet and you will get a B on the tests but an A is just too hard. Papers are also easy to get full credit on.

I really didnt want to take this class but i learned sooo much and her jokes kept me there. There are about two papers that are very easy and prob 2-3 pages. I loved Victoria! She's very liberal, open-minded, and accepting of all opinions. Attendance is mandatory- fill out worksheet every class period and 2 portfolios. Very fun lectures and activities.

I LOVE her humor! Did not need to buy the book since I took notes in EVERY class. Just follow the study guides and you'll be in good shape. I got an A in her class and it really wasn't that hard, since it was just bio10. She's very enthusiastic in teaching the subject. That's the best part about a professor! Really recommend her.

Also, when taking down notes, make sure you write down the examples and etc that are mentioned in the study guides. You don't need to look at the vocabs but you should be familiar with them already. 50 questions each test, not cummu. You'll prob finish in 30-45min. Answer the study guides and study them! No money wasted on textbook =D

She is a great lecturer, her lectures are funny an relevant to your life. her tests arent that hard if you attend class and you get a+ on essay if you follow direction. Highly recommend

Fun class, in-class activities are a great way to keep us on task and paying attention. The papers are numerous but short and sweet. She is easily irritated by people texting in class, so be polite. I think it is important that everyone have exposure to much of the material presented in Human Sexuality.

Interesting class. If you don't want to go to class, have the book. She gives you study guides for the exam and either pay attention to the lecture and answer the guide or use the book. Class is interesting though gets boring. Still uses overhead slides and yes, some images are explicit. But that's what college bio is about! Recommend taking her.

This class requires attendance to every class. A lot of work put into the portfolio and study guides are quite long. Exams are not super easy, but if you do all the work ... you can get an A.

It's not a hard class at all...just go to class and fill out the answers to the study guide she gives you and you'll ace the tests. The only reason I got a C was because I failed to wake up for alot of the classes.

You can really tell that she enjoys teaching the subject a lot. Her powerpoints are not wordy, straight to the point. She hands out a study guide on every unit you do. FILL THESE OUT during lecture. Gives study guide way in advance so you can fill out while she lectures. She lectures the study guide answers. She trys very hard to keep everyone entertained. I hate biology and do not like to study and I still got B's on all the tests. Just write down the answers and look over the study guide. Did both papers the night before and got A's on both.

She is very interested in her class and as long as you show up and fill in the study guide, the tests are easy. I have gotten As on all her tests and B/A on my papers (there are 2). The class is fun, the slides are short and to the point. She makes jokes during the lectures to make the class interesting.
