Easiest 300 level class and W. Had for Hitler and Nazism. Books not really used, except the one out of six. Notes posted online each week. Tests are easy. Easy class, nice lady.
Millersville should be ashamed to have her teach a graduate class. Absolutely no expecations, incredibly easy, lectures posted (and essentially a wikipedia entry), and text books never used. If you need an A take her (I would assume she's the same for undergrad) but if you are enrolled for a challenge and the learning experience, avoid.
Dr. Khiterer is a wonderful professor. She is always trying to keep the class interested. Her lectures were pretty dry but she was always trying to make it interesting, you can tell she loves history. I would definitely reccomend her!
Use our textbook every class for examples of art or documents or key figures. Learned a lot about Eastern European history and culture, things I was never taught before. Super interesting! Definitely recommend this professor.
good teacher
Extremely nice lady who knows her material. Wasn't a fan of the textbook she uses, but other than that good class. Her exams are essay with some vocab, but she gives you the essay questions and vocab words in plenty of time before the exam, so if you put the time in its easy to get a A.
She really is a great professor. She is well versed and professional. Her lectures are well organized and thought out. You are given the possible essays prior to the exam, so it forces you to study pretty much all the material. If you put in the time to study, you will learn something and do well in the class.
very nice professor, hard to understand sometimes but she does her best. Test are all essays but she gives you the questions before hand so if you just study it will be easy to get a good grade. takes attendance randomly and gives out extra credit if you answer questions
The beginning of the semester is difficult, simply because I had trouble understanding her due to her accent (Russian? Ukrainian?) HOWEVER, this is a college setting, and you get used to the accent. She is a very nice lady, who loves her material. I would def. recommend her and take her again!!
Prof. Khiterer is a very talented history teacher.. she know ALOT about what she is talking about. She is difficult to understand but that makes you listen to her even harder and yes it can be hard to comprehend but after 2 weeks she is easy understood. She does give extra credit but its to make you participate. Dont worry she puts all notes Blackbo
Dr. Khiterer is very knowledgeable in her subject area (especially in Russian history). Although some students were critical of her lengthy lectures (as opposed to discussion time) in a graduate class, I believe the professor has the liberty of choosing the style in which class will be held. Graduate students should enjoy learning and stop whining.
Definitely take her! She is a really nice professor. You have 3 tests & a research paper. None of her tests are cumulative which makes it nice studying for. She also gives extra credit. Her Russian accent is hard to get used to at first, but it makes you listen more. Within the first few weeks you get use to her. I would definitely take her again!
She was largely incomprehensible and went over large historical events in less than a class period... Not very hard; but neigh impossible to stay awake during lectures. Still walked away with an A
Dr. Khiterer is knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about her material. She doesn't hesitate to help when you ask for it and is very organized with regards to her lecture notes. People took issue with her accent, but that is just ignorant and irrelevant. Her teaching is top-notch and I'd definitely take a class from her again. Highly recommend her.
She is extremly nice and there are lots of chances for extra credit. She has all of her notes prepared so if you have a hard time understanding she can help. Tests are easy if you study and you get a free point everyday you show up. She is very willing to help and very kind. Take the class!
Dr.Khiterer is an extremely knowledgable professor. She wants students to do well in her classes. There are many opportunites for extra credit in her classes and you get credit for answering questions. Her notes are on blackboard, and it only takes a few classes to get used to her accent. I have her for two classes and I can understand her just fine.
Dr. Khiterer is very interesting and knows a lot about her subject matter. I really liked her use of comparative history and her use of personal family history during World War 2. Dr. Khiterer is a very good professor and is always willing to help students in and out of the classroom. I would highly recommend taking any of her classes.
Dr. Khiterer is wonderful. She wants all of her students to do well and goes out of her way to make that happen. During student surveys, I heard a number of people saying they couldn't understand her. She does have an accent, but I pay attention and always understand her. She's also pretty easy on the eyes. You're a fox Dr. K.
Very nice woman. Grades rather easy and gives away points left and right so if you cant get at least a B in her class youre in trouble. Very knowledgable about Jewish/European history. Visit her in her office, communication is more effective one-on-one.
Dr. Khiterer is amazing! Very easy and interesting class. Tests are definitions and essay, but fairly easy with some studying. All notes from class are online. She definitely wants her students to learn and enjoy the class. I would highly recommend her!
I love Dr. Khiterer! She is so helpful and her class requirements are very straight forward. Attendance counts for points, exams & assignments are very straight forward as long as you put forth the effort. I would recommend her to anyone!
Excellent Professor. Will take her for other classes. Her knowledge of the subject is impressive and her lectures are well organized.
Grades extremely generously. Perhaps too generously--for example, just about every student who gave their presentation walked away with full credit. Nice lady & knows her stuff, but her accent takes some getting used to, lectures are less than thrilling and rarely insightful, and lecture notes are very similar to certain Wikipedia articles.
Her class is easy to take so long as you pay attention and take some notes. She's pretty passionate about what she teaches. If you like learning about Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, take her course. You'll learn some things about WWII and the Holocaust you may not have known before.
Requirements are very straightforward. Dr. Khiterer is very nice & helpful. She really gives all of her students the maximum opportunity to succeed. I would recommend to anyone!
I took Modern Jewish History with Dr. Khiterer. She reminds me of a mad intellectual, with all the knowledge she has. A woman who has two dotorates and pays no mind to how awesome that is is worth taking. Love you Dr. K!!!
Dr. Khiterer is one of the best history profs, in my opinion. As long as you read the text, follow her lectures (which can be difficult due to her accent), and use the study guides you should be fine. She's such a sweet lady and only wants everyone to succeed. I would definitely take another class with her again.
Really nice teacher and very helpful. Difficult to understand sometimes but not as bad as you would think. Easy grader and she is very passionate.
She is a really great professor. She does have a really strong accent but after one or two classes understanding her becomes easy. If you go to class and read the book her tests are not that hard. The tests include 2 essays and 5 definitions. You also have one research paper. Overall she is a great professor!!!
This class is great. I learned a lot about WWII and Jewish History. Dr. Khiterer puts in personal stories which are fascinating. Her accent is very thick, but after a few classes it gets much easier to understand. Her tests/papers are very easy.
Loved this class! Learned so much about the Soviet Union. Loved hearing her personal stories and experiences in class. It just added to the topics and discussions in class. The class I took was over the summer and it was just 9 days. I have a lot of respect for her since she was able to teach such a large topic in a short period of time.
Excellent professor. Extremely easy-maybe too easy. Very passionate about what she's teaching. Lectures are dull, fell asleep a lot, but still got an A in the class. Answer her questions and go to class and it's cake. Taking another class with her next semester, doubt I'll regret it.
She is a very easy professor. If you are looking for an easy but boring class, then take her classes. I have taken two of her classes and they both were the same. Lectures that you don't really need to pay attention to. You can barely pay attention and barely study for the exams and still get an A. I would recommend her as she is an easy grader.
Easy teacher. Take if possible and need history credits.
This was a class that I could really sit back and listen. Dr. Khiterer doesn't assign a great deal of out of class work, so you can focus on the lecture content and enjoy it because it's interesting. She is extremely knowledgeable and has personal stories about Soviet Russia. You couldn't find a better professor to teach this content.
Dr. Khiterer made learning about Hitler & Nazism very interesting. She is hard to understand, but after a week or two you get used to it and start to understand her more and more. Tests are really easy if you study. She is an easy grader. Lectures can be boring at times, but makes it interesting with personal stories. Taking her again next semester
Not a hard grader at all. I have test anxiety and she gave us the entire mid term definitions well before test and you go over them. She wants you to learn and do well. No stress class and I learned a huge amount of info about Jewish History!
Dr. Khiterer was THERE when she talks about the history she's teaching! She's pretty much a walking talking encyclopedia. For her exams you don't get many chances, so you HAVE to know the information, some incite, and include specific dates. She grades fairly and easily. I didn't do much of the assigned reading since she summarizes it in the notes
This class is the easiest history class ever. You have three tests, and all of which she gives a practice exam. Multiple choice, 30 questions. She's a little hard to understand but you will get used to it eventually. She's very nice, and gives extra credit if you answer questions.
Her class is BORING! I'm a history major and this class was a struggle to sit through. Everyday consists of the same 1:15 minute lectures that are either super vague or super specific. Her test do not match what is in the notes. The study guide is the only way to get a decent grade on the tests. Raise your hand and answer questions, she gives EC!
Dr. Khiterer is an excellent professor. She is serious about the coursework but not overly so. She treats the students like adults. She is brilliant and articulates concepts clearly.
I've taken Dr. Khiterer for 2 classes before and will be taking 2 more. She is very smart and knows a lot about her subject matter.
She is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, and I am enthusiastic about going to her class because of how enthusiastic she is to teach it.
Amazing professor. Her class was very fun and she held my interest. I believe that she graded pretty easily. I would still advise paying attention and studying before tests.
Had for Hitler and Nazism. Only 4 grades the whole semester and they are all very simple. Lecture heavy class but an easy A if you show up and do the assignments
Took three of her classes, two online summer classes and one face-to-face. Very lecture heavy. Her online class relies on the completion of several essays - aprox every 4 days. Lectures are very interesting - definitely knows what she's talking about. Textbook not needed if you cant afford it, her lectures cover everything - but textbook is helpful
If you're in need of W courses, take anything with her! All you have to do is write 8 2-page essays. No midterm or final. That's it. Follow the syllabus and get the book and you're all set. All her online writing classes are set up this way - I've taken two with her. Super easy A as long as you do the work!
After you get past her accent she was a great professor, easy A, very lecture heavy but literally gave you a study guide with the exact questions on the test and answered the questions for you. Just show up, be respectful, and memorize her study guide for the test.
Really great professor who actually wants her students to perform well. She understands that we're not history majors, and we need the class in order to fulfill Gen-Ed credits. The class isn't difficult if you're not familiar with the content. If you're like me and have taken European history in high-school, this class will be cake.
Great professor who knows the material and provides a unique perspective due to life experiences. Although this was an online, pre-recorded class, it was interesting and informative. She is an excellent, engaging storyteller.
As a non-history major, she made the class great for anybody to follow. Her knowledge of everything Russian is unbelievable. She is very smart and can dumb down very complicated issues so anybody can follow. The class is a couple of essays based of the lectures. If you listen to the lectures you should get an A on everything and not have to worry!
This professor is so unorganized: the syllabus does not line up with the assignments, and she will not let you know if she makes changes. Grades work late, and 2 essays are due 4 days apart. She also has recordings of her lectures, but it's hard to understand and take notes with her heavy accent. I would not recommend taking this professor.
Dr. Khiterer is awesome! Her lectures are interesting and she is a true expert in her field so it's great learning from the best. This is my 3rd online course with her and I would take many more! She is accessible outside of class, gives good feedback and truly wants you to succeed. I honestly have nothing negative to say about her or her courses
Dr. Khiterer is such an amazing teacher. She gives you a study guide that is pretty much the exam and is very available to work with students. Love her!
She knows her stuff. 8 papers each 2 pages based on questions she asksare your only grades for this class. Use her lectures (audio recordings and a pdf that accompanied them) and the textbook to answer the questions for the papers. Be sure to use lots of names and dates. Very helpful and caring. Heavy load at times but a great class and professor!!
Dr. Khiterer is a really amazing professor. Her lecture are are so full of knowledge and easy to follow. I rarely even had to use the textbook in her class because the lectures were so detailed. A lot of papers, but theyre short and easy and actually help you practice your writing skills. All around really good.
Victoria is a great professor. She has power lectures that make an hour and fifteen minutes go by like nothing. It is hard to understand her strong accent at first, but you get use to it after a few classes. Extra credit when you answer questions, gives study guides, and actually cares about her students. If you care about school youll get an A.
Attendance is mandatory but she is not strict if you miss class. We had a book report, a midterm, and a final. The book report was an easy A. I probably didn't even need to read the book. The midterm was also so easy. Just some essays and definitions. I never pay attention in her class. Extra credit is just for answering questions.
She isnt hard, its very easy to get an A in one of her W classes. Read her notes and the book and then write about the key points. Do that and not only will you get an A but youll learn that way too. Shes helpful to anyone who needs help. Youll learn a lot and become a better writer. USE NAMES ANDDATES IN YOUR ESSAYS THATS A BIG STICKING POINT
Dr. Khiterer is one of 3 most caring professors I've had so far at MU. She is always open and willing to help you. Make sure you do the work that's expected of you and you'll do well in her class. I'm excited about taking more classes with her.
8 essays, 50 point each, total grade. 2 pgs min. double space 12 font NO CITATIONS! Holocaust Memorial night extra credit essay 25 points. I read the Jackson book mostly & used her written lectures. She is a bit hard to understand in her recorded lectures. Include names & dates. Resources given: 2 books, written lectures, voice recorded lectures.
Dr. Khiterer is a good teacher. I have taken one class from her and plan on taking a few more. She has good lectures, great notes, and clear instructions. Looking forward to future classes.
Dr. Khiterer hands out A's. She assigns 8 two page essays for the entire semester. If you summarize her lectures notes, you're golden.
Dr. Khiterer cares about your success! She will give you chances to gain credit if you mess up, and she is very helpful outside of class. I have taken two classes with her so far and I would gladly take her again, very knowledgable professor.
She is an amazing professor! She assigns you 8 essays in which she expects you to write two pages (or more, if you want an A). She is very quick to respond to email! I will be taking her online class in the winter! YOU MUST TAKE A CLASS WITH HER! :)
Dr. Khiterer is a good professor once you get accustomed to her heavy Ukrainian accent. Tests are easy if you show up for the review class.
Dr. Khiterer is a great professor and I would recommend her to anyone. I've taken her online twice, and have gotten A's. You do 8 essays that are at least 2 pages long and you don't have to cite your sources. She gives notes on the topic and there is also a book that isn't needed. Complete the essays and summarize the topic and you'll get 100's.
I had her for an online Imperial Russia class. All it is was 8 two page essays during the entire semester. It takes about an hour to read the lecture notes and another hour to write the essay max. I didn't get a single point off an essay the entire semester and trust me, they were not flawless papers. Her other online classes are the same way.
If you are interested in taking an introductory history class, I would suggest this one. Your grade is composed of attendance, a book review, and three exams (including the final). Dr. Khiterer is very nice and understands that most students take this course for gen-ed requirement. She does have a hard accent but you can get used to it over time.
I took her Soviet Union class, and it was literally 5 essays and a book report. There was a paper due every 2-3 weeks, and it only had to be 2-3 pages long. It was really easy grading as long as you answered what she asked. The material was pretty boring, but it was so easy that I would definitely take her again.
Dr. Khiterer put together a really interesting class about the Soviet Union and has a pretty interesting perspective having lived there. She also is fairly easy-going when grading and gives specific feedback when she takes points off
I took Hist 342 with Dr. Khiterer online as a summer course and it was great! Grade based off of papers assigned enough time in between to complete. I worked full time and managed to go on vacation while taking the class and did not find it hard to manage. The way she broke things down helped to understand hitler&nazism, I highly recommend taking!
Dr. Khiterer's class is one of my favorites. I have taken two classes with her now, and I would definitely take more. Her class is based off of 8 essays spread throughout the semester, minimum of 2 pages each, no citations needed. She is a sweetheart and grades in a timely manner. Her essays are always due on a Friday!
I love this professor. She makes the class very easy, and she laid out how the grading works and when each assignment is due so that you know. Each week or 2 weeks there is a 2-3 page paper due, so about 10 papers all together. Thats your grade.. no midterm or final!!! I got an A and just summarized her PowerPoint lectures
TAKE HER CLASSES!!! The only grades for the class are 8 papers. The papers 2 pages, doubles spaced, no citations needed. If you read the prompts before reading the lectures, its very easy to find what information she is expecting you to write about and if you touch on the subjects she covers in the lectures, its a guaranteed A on the paper.
I have taken several classes with Dr. Khiterer. Her classes consist of eight two page papers and one book report. Dr. Khiterer's lectures are very interesting and her teaching style is very easy to understand. She is also very understanding and was always quick to respond to emails when I have a question. I would highly recommend her class.
Hitler and Nazism was amazing. Learned so much from her written lectures. 10/10 would take another one of her classes
If you can take Professor Khiterer I highly recommend it. You have to write 8 2 page essays for her class, thats it. They are very easy. Don't bother buying the textbooks, you can use her lectures that she types up for your essays. I didn't open my textbook once.
I learned so much from this course during the winter term. The videos, recordings, and lecture notes provided were very helpful when it came to writing the required essays. Dr. Khiterer's firsthand knowledge and her willingness to share it with the class kept me engaged. She also gave good feedback after each essay in a timely manner.
Dr. Khiterer is one of the best professors I've ever had. Her class you learn a lot and do not have to worry about reading a lot. Her lecture notes, videos, and resources help to easily achieve an A in her class and come out learning a lot more about Hitler and Nazism. 8 essays that are 2 pages in length for your grade.
She is reading heavy, but very well organized with her online material. Very good lecture notes and content. As long as you do the reading and provide good details in essays, 5 total, you will do well in the course.
Dr. Khiterer is an excellent resource. She is clear on what she wants. Her lectures pull you in. The reading assignments are enjoyable. Graduating, otherwise would gladly take more classes with her.
Would highly recommend any of her online courses. The workload is easy and you can get it done "early" if so desired. Some heavier reading, lecture PowerPoints, and videos to watch, but only 8 short papers with easy guidelines. She grades leniently and the reading is actually interesting! (if you like history of course) 10/10 would take again.
What a great class and teacher. It was so easy! All you need to do is read a chapter or two and write about the big ideas that happened. No midterm or final exams, only 8 assignments. She was also very nice and quickly responded to emails and worked with me when i could not submit assignments on time. If you need some easy credits, Take this class!
Class consists of (5) 2 page papers based on the lectures that the professor posts, there is also a book review. Besides the book for the book review, the other textbooks are not necessary as all the info can be found on D2L. The book can be found for cheap on kindle if you don't want to invest in a expensive paper copy.
I am taking Hitler and Nazism right now in summer and I couldn't ask for a better GPA booster. She grades by very few things. She assigns 8 essays and thats it. They're spaced out so its one essay every 3-4 days and the topics are easy to grasp. She doesn't interact with the students much, but i'd love to take more of her courses in the future.
Awesome professor. Class is only graded on 8 2 page papers. Very easy to get a good grade as long as the relevant information is there and if not she gives great feedback. Already registered for another class with her.
This online Soviet Union course was based on online lecture notes that students are expected to resummarize in a paper every two weeks. Very easy course, don't bother reading/buying the textbook. Definitely read/buy the book for the book report though. Not a lot of feedback given on the papers but is not difficult to get a good grade.
She has office hours and will respond to her emails if there is anything you would like to discuss with her. Her accent is strong but easy to understand what she is saying. There is 1 book report and 5 2-page papers. She offers good feedback on the papers. If you need a class to take, TAKE HER.
This was my second class with her. This class was graded on 6 2 page essays and 2 250 word discussion posts. Very easy to get a good grade and knock out gen ed requirements. She was very responsive to emails and is a more than fair grader when it comes to the essays. Totally recommend her for knocking out Gen Ed's or writing credits.
Dr. Khiterer's class was super interesting. Having no knowledge of Russia prior to this, I'm leaving the class with a curiosity for many of the things we learned. There is a LOT of reading each week, lecture and textbook. You have to pay for the textbook there is no free PDF. The essays are minimum 2 pages and easily answered if you DO THE READING.
Graded by 7 short essays and 1 Discussion Post which is pretty much another essay. All essays only need to be 2 pages and 600 words each. She's a easy grader but her feedback is pretty bad. Usually it's either "good work" if you do well, and "you didn't talk about x topic enough" if you get docked points.
