This professor can be anyone's nightmare. She is a tough grader, very difficult, expects everyone to know the material, so far the worst professor I ever had!!

She is one of the teachers that will smile constantly as if she were mocking you. She constantly makes it feel like high school again. I'm not paying for her to treat me like a kid. During break its kind of interesting to talk pass different groups each talking about how harsh/annoying/mean she is.

Avoid taking this professor at all costs. She is extremely unfair and unclear. She also requires a ridiculous workload I am a graduate of Rutgers University and assisted my friend with her class. I have never dealt with a professor like this. Undoubtedly, if she taught at a regular 4 year college she would recieve complaints and not be allowed

The woman is not as intelligent as she thinks she is. Doesn't understand the relationship between magical realism and literary archetype. She's smug anyway. Did not allow paths of inquiry she was unfamiliar with. If you love literature, she'll cure you of that.It's IBO that Okonkwo speaks in Things Fall Apart!

Bad teacher. Just bad... She expects you to analyze a poem perfectly as if SHE were doing it and never actually taught you how to do so.. BAD TEACHER. BAD!

She is the worst instructor Ive ever had. She tells you what she expects in your rough draft, then marks the help she gave you wrong in the final paper. Very rude and not encouraging at all. Absolutely ridiculous for just an English 101 course.

This teacher was horrible. Not helpful or encouraging at all. Picked apart everything about my essays and inserted 10 or more comments about revision but didn't provide useful examples, instead inserted links to websites with poor examples. Severely pretentious for just a comp 101 class. Consider yourself warned, she is the worst.

Melograno is a very knowledgable woman when it comes to English. With that being said, she's tough and she SERIOUSLY needs an attitude adjustment. You want her help? Good luck. She seems like she just can't be bothered with her students. She really makes me forget I did so well on my AP English exam in high school.

seven pages instruction to write a 5 paragraph essay is a bit to much. She does not encourage the students to think about the readings if you don't come out with her analysis your entire essay is wrong. You first essay is the most important there is no room for improvement . You draft very be good.

Her class reminds me of high school all over again. Not given much feedback and expected to know and understand what is going on at all times. I wish she was a more understanding teacher. I tried my very best and kept feeling defeated by her comments. She basically kicked me down when I was already fallen on the floor. I would not recommend

Can be VERY rude. Does not like to hear that she may possibly be wrong. Very undermining. Would not recommend. I used to enjoy English and have always done well, but she has made that extremely difficult this semester and does not say one positive thing in her feedback.

Had her for an online course and no matter what I did, it was wrong. None of her feedback towards me was positive. I got an A+ in Comp101 so I know I do not completely suck at Composition. Had to withdraw the class. Find another teacher. Shes not uplifting and doesnt care if you pass or fail. She made me hate Writing

Do not take this professor. She has more opinions about your workthen anything. Papers do not get graded fairly. If you can avoid this teacher.

She is too subjective and not objective. If you are freshman in college stay away from her, the way she grades, she puts you down rather than builds you up. I think she is failed as an educator. Just try to stay away from this lady.

nothing you write will satisfy her . I had all my essays reviewed by 2 other professor and she was still wasn't satisfied . Nothing is ever perfect for her . Avoid her

I have never struggled in an English class before, I had a tutor that was monitoring the class and tried helping me on my essay just to receive a 65 on it. Mind you I had two tutors revise it. I suggest not to take her if there is another open I suggest take online.

I had to withdraw from this class, everything I handed in was ripped apart by her. And I got a perfect grade in ENGL101 so I know by the next semester I couldnt have been totally horrible at the subject. She provides feedback on rough drafts, & after following them for the essay she will still give you an F for one small mistake.

I am a good writer according to any other prof/teacher I've had. The way she wants things is completely different than other writing teachers which made her think my papers were terrible. She gave me a 50 on an essay for one small thing and it destroyed my grade but I could not drop. Her feedback wasn't constructive criticism, it was just rudeness.

SWITCH PROFESSORS IF POSSIBLE - anyone I have spoken to about this professor says the same. She grades based on her opinion, not according to her rubric. If she is looking for a specific topic, she should just say that instead of letting you voice your opinion/view. Class size dropped dramatically from beginning. Non-constructive criticism BEWARE

DO NOT TAKE! I never thought I was bad at English, and regretted taking this course with her. It was online. She grades off of opinion. She will tear you down. I had anxiety about checking my papers for their grades! I didn't check my grade for her class for almost another year! FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!!!

This was the hardest class Ive ever taken in regards to a writing class or any form of English class. She grades based on HER OWN specific rubric rather than a logical grading system. If you dont know what she expects that day, youre likely not going to get a good grade. You have to work A LOT harder, and even then you still may not do well.

This is by far the worst professor I have had. With each I assignment I have sent emails because there is confusion on some part of the homework. I took this class online and the instructions were like a scavenger hunt. Homework instruction needs to be streamlined more. She also gives NO positive feed back even when asked for.

Would not take her!! She doesnt work with her student and isnt really understanding. She grades essays more with opinion and sucks at giving feedback. She never has anything positive to say over your essays.

She is not understanding at all, even if you are in the hospital. She grades based on her own rules that she created and assigns more homework than any other professor. Also, don't use the bathroom more than once a week in her class or she'll write you a rude email.

After reading the comments, I tried to stay optimistic. I was wrong; all the comments were true. She grades based off of her opinion. Perfection is not good enough; you are always wrong no matter how hard you try. I was doing all I could, hoping to pass. In English080 I received a 98. Don't take this teacher. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! RUN, DONT WALK!

A horrible teacher do not choose her. She gives more assignments than any of my other classes. I've always been a straight-A student; no matter how hard I tried, she kept grading my papers with nothing more than a C-. She expects you to write at an Ivy League level. She has a ridiculous set of rules that you must follow.

Out of all my years taking an english class, this was by far the hardest one. All of the reviews are correct on how she grades like it is an ivy league course. She offers absolutely zero feed back on rough drafts and final essays causing you to rot on future assignments. Do not take her, other English teachers from what I heard are much better.

Take another professor if you can and if not be prepared to study for hours and still cry when you see your grades because she is harsh and has many rules. You will learn a bit and improve your writing but nothing that can't be taught by a different professor. Wish I looked at other reviews on this site before.

I have all A's in every class except hers, got a D, retook English and got a A with a different prof. She was unhelpful. Even with my accommodations, she made my life difficult. Don't take her class. I recommend Mary Miklasz, Russell,Effie and Fischer, R.

I've never had so many problems with my essays before. According to other profs, there are still no problems with them. She grades as if this intro course is a master's level course. She always deems sources unreliable even if you use the resources she tells you to find reliable sources. Nothing ever pleases her. Avoid her if you can.

The worst professor to take. She provides HORRIBLE feedback and makes you feel like a terrible student. I never failed a class, and I might with her. She will give you a 0 because of an answer you thought was correct but then corrects you and tells you it's wrong, then puts a 0 on it. She has 3 different profiles on here for a reason. STAY AWAY.

Her rating makes sense. In white font (trying to hide from students) on her assignment checklists that if you use AI to write ubiquitous, which I did, but she took 20 points off because I used AI. Keep in mind that I didn't use AI at all in my actual essay, but to provide an example relevant to my essay. Never take this professor. You'll cry.

This woman is the reason I no longer have financial aid. Her class was so horribly demanding that I couldn't focus on any of my other classes. I had to drop out of them leading to me being perpetually banned from financial aid. She does not teach, she just yells. She does not tell you how to fix what's wrong, she just tells you you're wrong.

I didn't believe any of these until I experienced it myself This was the most horrible experience I have EVER HAD. She will give a rubic than give you a 0 on your whole paper for doing one thing wrong. She only cares about herself and not the best interest in her students at all. I cried every single day after her class. INVESTIGATE THIS TEACHER!

Professor is not consistent with her syllabus. Tells students to refer to a tutor, and then basically still rips you apart when tutor says you are doing what is expected. Basically is belittling of your work and makes you feel like you are incompetent. DO NOT take her class. She is not an educator, she lacks empathy towards students.

I did every single assignment for this class and only missed one class. I did not get anything over a 74 on all 4 essays. I used all my resources and even used a tutor to help write my essays after receiving a 70 on my first essay. She would contradict herself with instructions on essays. She would comment on our work and call it mediocre.
