She's a very nice person. I was warned before I took her class that she was hard with writing, so I went in there all smiles and I talk to her and she's a very nice lady. Be on time and she'll love you. She also loves to pass out cough drops and gum :)

Such a wonderful, nice, women. Would highly recomend her!!!

A child of the 60's who is now teaching children of the 00's. She a real trip and an easy A. Just wish I could have smoked with her once.

Make friends with her and youre in. come before class and make conversation. it wouldnt hurt do do your work on time either.

best english teacher ever, if you mess up your papers ask her for help on fixxing them and you're getting an A... just care and you get the A

shes really tough on papers, even if their on time make sure you re-read your work. Get the Cultural event done asap. read the essays in the book, and get both books she uses them. shes very chearfull, wonders in topics during class.

Very good teacher. Class is one of the easiest I ever took. If you can, see her about your papers, she will help you a lot.

I think she is a very cool person, but I can see how some people might not like her. As a teacher I thought she was pretty good, but I didn't think some of cultural things she tried to teach were neccessary. She is very helpful though!

I think that Redpath is very judgemental, yet she needs to be. I think that she grades sort of biased, yet you need to be pushed. She teaches the easiest english, and there are going to be far worse teachers. I wouldnt recommend taking her though.

Very easy compared to other teachers. Trys to keep students involved in campus and world events. Takes the ease out of stuffy english classes. Will work with you, but ultimately expects that you write on a college level (suprise, suprise).

I don't knowwhat the others are talking about. THIS IS COLLEGE PEOPLE! She tells her opinion often, but ALWAYS offers you the chance to disagree. Essays are a challenge, but she'll read the whole thing with you and tell you where to improve...GREAT PROF

This class was awesome, I hate english classes, and yet I loved this class. It almost made it worth while to get up for the rest of my classes, just for this class. Mrs. Redpath is awesome - she is a lot of fun to have as a teacher. The class rocks.

I disagree with another comment, I'm a male and she said I should get a degree in English! I hate English so I blew it off, but I agree that I'm not too sure how she grades. I did quite fine, but I know others that did horrible for no appearent reason!

I thought it was easy. Since it is a freshman seminar, it was based on only one grade, which is the presentation, but I think she is very nice. I'm also a male, and she told me that I had one of the greatest assignments in years.

Victoria Redpath was one of the greatest teachers I have had at Penn State. I am a female so I do not know if she is biased but I absolutely adore her and will never forget her. If you are a decent writer I would argue that you would due well in this class you just have to actually put in effort!

Prof Redpath was a great teacher. She made you work hard for a good grade because she wanted to prepare you to be able to write good papers for all your other classes.

Great teacher, easy class! I had so much fun, she is not biased, she only gives people who don't show up a hard time. This class was so easy. She is really nice and really fun. So great to talk to. Take this class with her, just don't be too stupid to show up. Show up, do the work, get a good grade

I don't understand what the other people are talking about. She was always helpful to me. She expects you to do work, period. Most of the people who did bad just didn't hand in their papers or handed in papers that they did an hour before class. Just put forth and effort and you'll be fine.

She is genuine and kind.

Redpath is the greatest!!! Easiest teacher at Berks, a little cooky, but that's why her class is so great! Take her if you can, you'll have a good time...easy grader too!

Professor Redpath is extremely unliked by the majority of the berks campus, but if you take her class and actually put forth effort(which definitely includes meeting with her outside of class to go over essays)you can do fine. I have never worked harder for an A in english in my life, but I have never left a class with such well written papers.

I don't understand what everyones problem is. I think Prof Redpath is great. Her class is easy, all you have to do is write, revise and hand in a paper that isn't completely horrible. This must some how be hard for a lot of people. But i think she is a great teacher, shes funny,good hearted and genuinely cares about her students. Lighten up people!

I just want to say one more thing. I don't want these peoples comments to scare anyone off from taking her class. These negative comments worried me at the beginning of the semester, but i've really enjoyed her class. It's college people, you should know how to write an essay by now, and thats what she expects! Just spreading the Redpath love<3

I absolutely loved her. She was so helpful in making my semester better. Red was wonderful, she's a tough grader, but all you have to do is follow her writing criteria. My grades were 88, 90, and 100. She'll tell you how you need to write, she even helps you write it. Take advantage of her office hours. She was a great help and I loved her class.

Her class isn't that bad... More or less you show up, do a freewrite, and then she just talks to the class for a while before we share what we wrote. In all, we do about 10 minutes of ACTUAL work during the class. The homework is easy too. 4 papers over the course of the semester. To dispute an earlier claim, her grading seems fair to me..

She is very random, but if you make use ofher office hrs and extra credit assignment you should be fine, make sure you follow her assignment handouts exactly

Awesome professor, she will review any of your essays and show you how to make it a 100. She loves helping and is a very intelligent person. She is an individual but her personality makes class interesting. If you want to do poorly, don't ask her for help, if you want an A set up a meeting. She also loves a good conversation.

This professor doesn't pull any punches. You need to do the work to get a good grade. You show the interest & go to see her in office hours and you will do well. I liked her.

She was a bit of a hippie but I would probably take her class again. She will tell you how to make your essay an A if you ask for help.

At first I didn't really like her but she is really understanding and super nice! She is a hippie but really awesome. She is tough on attendance but she has her favorites. She liked me and I had over 4 absences and I still ended up with an A. Just talk to her and she will let you slide with a lot of things.

In this class you need to follow directions & take notes. That is it. Learn how to cite your sources and be inclusive in your assignments. I earned my A easily. Everyone around me missed a chunk in her directions when writing their papers. The same students that wondered what the heck happened when they got their grade. She was entertaining too.
