Took both 103 and 104 with her, and she is an AWESOME teacher. Discussions in class are great, and she'll talk about anything. She is super helpful with any assignment she assigns. Definately take her if you have the chance:)

I took Eng 103 and 104 with her. Victoria rocks- she is a great teacher and is very easygoing. She leads her class in a laid-back way but students still get a lot from her class.

She's so easy. You can even revise ALL your papers. She grades pretty easy, and we have good discussions.

One of my best teachers. Cares about only the important stuff that you need later in life, none of the BS! Easy grader, likes to have group discussions. Approachable and easy to talk to!

This teacher is da bomb you can talk to her about anything she is like 50 and the most coolest teacher at DePaul. Class is not bad at all 4 papers all worth different percent and you can revise all of them and turn them in at the end of the quarter

She's such an awesome prof. She really makes you think about issues outside of the classroom and her class goes by so fast because she talks about interesting things and she's hilarious!! Papers are not too bad.

Victoria is the best teacher I have ever had anywhere! I was dreading my summer 104 class, but Victoria made it fun. I finally finished 104 after 3 tries! Not only is she smart; she is kind and understanding. I love her!

Victoria is an encouraging teacher. She wants to see that you are taking her class serious. So don't be lazy and write, revise your paper as you are told! She will reward you with a good grade. (Just don't mention the R-word!)

this class was filled with discussion. shannon is liberal, but if you can take her opinions with an open mind, she'll listen to your's as well. she is a fair grader, and i really enjoyed her class, even if it was at 8:30 am.

Greatest teacher of all tiem at depaul. she's da coolegest teacher ever. she makes class so fun. she doesnt talk about academics so much. she just talks about life and stuff. she talks to us like freins not students. and we only have 4 essays the whole term. we spend like 1 day talkin bout it. she so cool, she lets us out 30 min early all the time

Great prof- Accessible outside of class; helpful. She really cares about her students-some say she goes off subject sometimes, she is actually the teacher who have made all my papers for all my classes fundamentally better. if you have the option to take her, take her. You will not just learn a lot about English, but a lot about life itself.

She uses a lot of profanity and is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL teacher that I have ever had in my 4 yrs. at DePaul. I missed class because I had a doctor's appt., her response was..."why didn't you come, were you ****ing around." There is a thin line between being a "cool" professor and just being down right ignorant.

Interesting class- but you won't learn much from her. The class gets distracted easily. You really learn from the gues speakers and videos. Otherwise, ignorant teacher who knows writing more than literature!

Victoria is the best teacher in the world. She cares about her students as people, and she respects us. She is smart, not only academically, but she knows a lot about the world and she shares her knowledge with the class. Some people can't deal with her honesty, so they shouldn't be in the class. Also, the absence policy is pretty clear.

victoria is the best teacher for a student just starting college, she explains college expectations and just basically cares about her students. i love her off topic discussions, she tells stories and listens to students. makes class interesting most importantly.

Victoria is amazing. 3 papers, submit a draft and resubmit before the q. ends=A. She truly cares about her students and helping them survive college. I will admit that she gets off topic a lot, but i have learned more life skills and she opened my mind to a lot and i thank her for that. She is VERY out spoken and hates when youre late or missing.

I love this woman! Her philosophy is comfortable. She loves to say, "If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it." and "Your mind is like a parachute; it won't work if it isn't open." She is truly a wonderful teacher who cares about her profession and her students.

Class consists entirely of pointless rants and not much actual learning of any sort. Don't take unless you are able to attend every worthless class filled with her rants about completely random crap.

Class was too easy. 3 papers- rewrites allowed. Pointless to buy the book- was very used or discussed.

Victoria is helpful, patient, fun, stimulating, brilliant, compassionate, and professional. She is totally dedicated to teaching, and she treats students as equals. She expects people to be in the class and do the work she assigns, but she is not unreasonable. If there is an emergency, she will help you work out. I love her.

She is very passionate about what she teaches. Vicoria will teach you so much if you put the effort there to learn it. Love her! If you ever have the chance to take her, do it, and consider yourself lucky that you have the opportunity to learn from the best!

this is the second time ive taken victoria. shes wonderful. i cant even begin to describe how great she is. all you have to do in her class is write a couple papers and you get to revise them. do exactly what she writes on your rough draft and youll get an easy A. shes so interesting and fun. love her. take her for anything she teaches.

I was totally intimidated by her at first but she taught me so much and was hilarious too. We had 4 papers to write and we could revise them. She actually listens to her students too. TAKE HER!!!

She is a great teacher. Her attendance is mandatory so you have to go, but most of the time it is just free discussion of books, world topics, and whatever else comes up. She is nice, but don't mistake it for naive, because she will Fail you if you miss too many classes!

Victoria made a potentially horrifying ENG class over the summer quite enjoyable. We had three assignments and they were pretty easy...even the research paper that she let's you correct for a better grade. The class is really laid back but be prepared to listen to ENTERTAINING stories! I wish I could take her again! :-)

this professor has so many fun things to discuss! she's not afraid to go beyond your comfort zone with discussing lgbt issues. made a boring class bearable.. who likes general writing classes anyway? has a good policy on revisions. only thing though is you have to attend class everyday with the exception of 2 absences, or else your grade suffers

First professor at DePaul during my freshman year to actually know all the student's names before week 10 and know the actual person! She will sit down and talk to you about anything,and offers insight. Her grading is a tough but u get revisions. did not have to buy a book:)you will learn alot about the 8 identifiers always got out of class early!

She is a funny teacher and she has interesting stories. She likes to get to know her students however your grade will suffer if you are a person that does not like to talk in class.

No doubt she gives funny stories and is entertaining but her grading is ridiculous. I know this is college level writing but she makes it unnecessarily difficult. She does allow for rewrites but even if you do everything she says she will find even more errors and you may get an even lower grade. I would not take her again, not recommended at all.

Professor Shannon is a wonderful professor. The first couple classes are a little boring but once you and your class gets to know her and her witty comments, she is funny and easy to get along with. For attendance, you can only have two missed absences but she is really nice and usually lets us out early if we are done with the topic of the day.

Fun teacher to have. Very hard grader because you are not just allowed a rewrite but expected to rewrite. Large percent of grade is final portfolio so make sure you speak up in class and make yourself known. Participation and known effort on papers will help increase grade.

Absolutely love her. She has great "street cred" at both DePaul and Columbia. Yes we do get off topic often but with things that are useful to our lives. She truly cares about her students which is evident. She swears a lot which is entertaining and she is not formal because her students refer to her as Victoria. I highly recommend her :)

Vic is great. She is very helpful. Do what she writes in her comments and corrections and you'll be good. Her comments are very helpful. Gives out a lot of handouts which can be very useful. She does use strong language but really helps the atmosphere become laidback. She cares a lot about her students and makes it clear that she is all ears.

Great teacher! She does push your buttons sometimes but you live with it. Kiss ass and you will be okay!

Though the ignorant person may say that she spends her time instilling her own beliefs, she uses her vast amount of knowledge, which is no doubt about things in which she has interest, to prove points. She does not ramble uselessly, rather use real-world examples to teach. Incredible teacher. She not only improves writing but important knowledge.

I took her for WRD103 and I've already signed up for her 104 class! She is amazing and allows regrades on papers. She understands students and is the biggest sweetheart. I look forward to her class every week and her workload is close to nothing. Love this class, 1010 would recommend this class!

Victoria made class very interesting. We had great conversations. She's a professor who cares about her students and their grades. She lets you revise your papers and if you ask, she will give you a rubric of what she expects. She's very picky with word choice and grades your papers kind of harshly but always gives great feedback. Would recommend!

She is a tough grader but she allows for revisions on all papers. So if you get a C- on your first paper don't stress cause she tells you exactly what needs to be revised to switch that C into an A. Victoria is a very real professor. What I mean is she doesn't hold back and she tells things how they are. But, don't be intimidated by that because she genuinely wants you to get an A in the class, you just have to put the work in. Tough grader, but you get unlimited revisions.

I took Vic twice last year just because of how amazing she is. She cares so much for her students and is willing to help in any way. She allows unlimited revises and trust me, they help! If she's tough that just means she knows you have potential. I did so many revisions for her and they were worth it!

She's tough with grading essays, but I received only some assignments. She's funny, lively, intelligent, and understanding. She loves your input and likes most of her students. Much of the time she shares stories of her life, and from time to time makes connections to her lesson. Highly recommended, can't guarantee anything though.

Very nice person! Loved taking class with her. She is a tough grader at first but allows you to revise all your papers for a regrade. Also offers 10% extra credit for reading a book and writing a report on it. Highly recommend!

Victoria was a very caring person and a great teacher. Even when class got off topic, we were still being educated in life by someone with vast experience and great knowledge. I'm excited to be taking her again for 104, and many of my classmates retook her themselves, which speaks for itself.

Victoria is a pretty good professor. I think she understands that we aren't all English majors and she grades very fairly. Her lectures didn't really help at all with writing though. I got good grade anyway, but the mandatory attendance to a class where I learned nothing was a bit frustrating. also don't like how she required a book we never used

Victoria is cool. She can go on tangents during lectures, but a lot of class time is used revising essays which is nice. She lets you have the whole quarter to revise essays and usually gives good feedback. It's an easy class and she's really nice and cares about her students.

She doesn't give a lot of lectures but she's very helpful when it comes to her revision policy. All you'll ever do in class is revise your peer's essays, then edit your essay, turn it in, and redo if you don't like your initial grade. Class is pretty easy, just don't get lazy. I don't English but Prof Vic made it bearable.
