Book work only in online course. Only six sets of questions for study but there are about 150 questions per study guide. 3 Critical thinking one page essays. If you don't mind book work you will do well.
Took online. For the 8-week session, there were three critical thinking assignments, six 100-150 study questions assignments, and six 70-minute timed tests. For critical thinking and study questions, she checks for completion vs. accuracy. She does give the opportunity for extra credit. I got an A but I put in 20 hours per week.
Took her online, and it was very straight forward. I didn't hear from her once, so you are pretty much learning and teaching yourself. The tests were straight from the book, and other assignments were not terribly challenging. Things were due maybe every 2 weeks, so you can work at your own pace. I would recommend her.
Dr.Davoudi is professional fair,and competent.
Class was very time consuming but very easy. does not grade accuracy but grades for Completion. A lot of book work. I got an A+. Gives extra credit and is very fair. Make sure to turn in all assignments on time.
Great instructor, quick response time. Expect to put in some time to do the assignments, but in the end it pays off. I would recommend.
I would not recommend taking this professor online. Although she grades for completion and not accuracy, the exam review questions which are all short answer took literally 20 hours/week to complete and did NOT go along with the exams. Her syllabus and instructions are VERY unclear and she still did not answer my questions through email.
Take another class, this class will give you headache.
I received an A by the grace of God! She's nice, but I would not take her again. The study guides are about 300 questions & have about 5 of them on the actual test. :/ You cannot review what you missed from the test to determine if your answer was actually right or not.
She is A very easy teacher but the study guides are extremely long. she grades for completion and not accuracy as far as the critical thinking assignments and the study guides. study guides are about 200 questions. she actually read my extra credit assignment though. You can easily pass the exam if you do the study guides. She is a sweet person
This instructor gives a lot of work. The study guide questions include 180-200 questions and are mandatory, very time consuming, and not helpful for test. 5 exams, 4 papers. Provides extra credit, if you have time to volunteer. Exams are hard. You can only answer one qustion at a time. 85 minutes to finish 70 questions.
She is a easy teacher but the study guides are long. There are 5 study guides that are about 200 questions long, 4 critical thinking assignments that you have to provide links to your evidence, and 5 exams that are 70 questions long each with 85 minutes to complete the questions and only one question displayed at a time. And she gives extra credit.
Took this class online during Summer Minimester. Three chapters per week with correlating studyguides (50-75 questions per chapter), critical thinking questions, and weekly exams. Offers extra credit! Do not suggest taking this class during the summer semester or in conjunct with other classes because there is a lot of work to do weekly.
I took this class during a six week summer semester. This instructor assigned busy work in the form of a minimum of 50 questions per chapter assigned. She was timely answering email. My biggest complaint with this class was the requirement that I purchase her supplement, which was poorly edited and totally plagiarized the textbook.
Don't take this class. If you cannot spend 30 hours per week for this class.
Dr. Davoudi seems nice enough. I would recommend taking her class but ONLY if you have enough spare time to do the work. I feel like the course load was a bit heavier than other classes. For each test there is a Study Guide; each chapter has about 60 questions. 2-3 hours. Critical Thinking Assignments are clear. BUSY WORK, BUSY WORK, BUSY WORK!
This professor gives a load chapter study questions (60-75 questions per chapter) Only a few of the CH. study questions are actually used on the test. You are not allowed to go back if you skip over a question on the test (online). If you take this class be prepared to dedicate a lot of time to it.
Took this as an online dual credit class. Her class is relatively easy, but she assigns a lot of unnecessary and unhelpful work, i.e., 200 chapter study questions. If you have enough time to dedicate hours of time doing this class, go for it. If not, steer clear. Most people don't. The Study Guides themselves took around 3-4 hours to complete.
Dr. Davoudi took over our class for another professor. Fair, yet easy grader, and responds to emails quickly. The final test was 100 questions and tough.
I took this class online recently and I have to say that this class was mostly easy but the study guide questions are the only things that take time but is still easy to do. Took this class as a dual enrollment student and I have to say that my experience overall was excellent.
She is a easy grader with great feedback. Test are to long 70 question. Also gives unesssary overload of chapter exercises, and chapter study guides takes you way to long to finish almost 3-4 hours. Will not recommend her!
Took 8 week class. Prompt email responses. Respectful and polite. Usually grades next day. Assignment instructions are clear and the course is well-organized. Offers extra credit, which I recommend doing. Exams are 70 questions and timed. Textbook is a necessity. E-textbook is worth every $ for the long homework assignments. Would take her again!
Took online 8 week course. Very easy grader, the chapter review questions are very long though if you're taking the 8 week then I advise you break it down by days to do it it's like 200 questions. The ebook is really easy to use with the homework. Test are long but easy if you are missing something she gives you a chance to turn it in late.
Gives very clear instructions. She does not communicate with online students unless evoked. WAY too many study questions (easy, but time-consuming). 5 tests (70 questions); 4 papers; 5 study guides (250+ questions each). Grades on completion and not accuracy. Time-consuming class, but you learn a LOT about government. Textbook more than required.
Took as an online course during the summer. I'm not a great online student so it really helped for her to reach out to me when she saw me struggling. Great communication via emails. Responds fairly quickly. Has multiple assignments and extra credit, and i needed every bit of those grades to pass. But if ur someone who does good u can skip final!
Class just started and there are already 5 two page single spaced papers due. More work than my English Comp 1 class, ridiculous! This is a required class, should not be this complicated and time consuming. Don't take her unless you plan on writing your life away.
TERRIBLE! I took this professor online and for homework she assigns you questions through Inquizitive, which is the most awful thing ever. You can not find the answers to the questions by googling them and even though it says you can find the answers in the book, half the time you can't. If you miss the questions first try it takes points away!
I do not enjoy government, so I took this class online to try and avoid all of the politics. Bad choice. She gave a lot of resources, but you would have to devote any and all of your free time to this class. Test questions were extremely specific. A lot of extra credit, but it was very involved. Long papers. Wouldn't take again.
As an accelerated course there was a bit more reading per week (of course). However, everything is open book, and with the grading structure I didn't even have to finish the last small assignment to receive an A
Professor Vida goes above and beyond to ensure you pass her class. She offers extra credit and her intro assignments are easy. Her critical thinking assignments aren't hard but they do need to be thorough to get all the points. She requires study questions for every exam. It was good practice. Exams were straightforward.
This class is not at all put together very well and is hard to follow and the book does not follow Inquisitive. It is impossible to follow. I also sent an email reporting this issue to her and nothing was done. 70 questions on the exam and only 1.25 hours to take the test. DO NOT THAT THIS CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!!!!
Ms. Davoudi has lots of homework and lots of reading. I would not recommend taking this class if you do not have time to dedicate to the extensive amount of work. She gives you a deadline for you work and time to complete it, I would recommend doing a bit at a time each day so that you're not overwhelmed with work. Willing to work with students.
I enjoyed this class for the most part. The only thing I did not really care for were the critical thinking assignments but they were not hard to pass as long as you followed the criteria giving. Chapter quiz questions did not really help with the exams. Overall it was an easy A.
I am taking it as a 6-week summer course. The professor expects too much in that short of a time period. The class just started and she requires an essay for orientation. The professor requires a page and a half to get a C and two pages for an "A" but it has to have excellent content. It is crazy. I work full time and hope that I will pass..
4 tests over different chapters in textbook, you have to read to pass. Critical Thinking assignments/papers each section but are not that hard and have clear grading criteria. Section questions are good preparation for tests. Offers extra credit but most assignments are an easy A if you can follow directions.
I was skeptical to take professor Davoudi but I ended up liking how her class works. I took govt 2306 as an 8 week online course. Basically theres a test due once a week as well as a critical thinning assignment. She grades those very easy as long as you touch on the subjects she wants you to talk about. You can quizlet the tests and get an A
She has been the most organized and attentive professor Ive had. Everything is graded immediately, she responds to emails in a matter of hours or less, and she offers many opportunities to boost your grade up. You have to put in the work but she will definitely reward you for it. The bad reviews here dont give any justice to how great she is.
I took Govt2305 online with her in Spring 2019. She grades properly and sometimes skip on many things on the essay parts and she grades you very well but the bad thing is she always gives you papers and papers due every week.
Don't take this professor, she is one of the hardest classes Ive ever had. She had the most unnecessary amount of work, if you work even part time this class will be incredibly stressful. The online textbook is required and is one hell of a lot of work. She never responded to my emails on time. In addition to work on D2L theres work in the text boo
So much work in such a small amount of time. There's a exam due almost every week, along with essays. The critical thinking assignments have to be at LEAST two pages to be considered for an "A". A lot of online work for a mini-mester. You can quiz let the tests but you'll get a B
Her online class is fairly easy. All you have to do are study questions (time-consuming but an easy 100 if you do it), five papers (just meet the requirements and you will get an A), and tests that are pretty difficult unless you're a fast researcher. I'd recommend the class if you are looking for minimal work but are willing to put in the effort.
This teacher is AMAZING. Seriously, the online class was very organized and she always got back to me within 24 hours. You do have tests, quizzes, and assignments but they are easy as long as you put the work in! She seriously is such an amazing teacher, especially for an online 8 week course structure. Would take again and highly recommend!
Professor gives clear assignments. If you read the chapters, take the tests, and put your time into your papers then you are in good shape. Be prepared to put some effort in, and you will be rewarded. The teacher communicates if you have questions and is a very nice person.
This course requires you to teach yourself everything. She does not provide any lectures to online students and tells you to read your chapters when you ask for additional help. The tests are hard and do not correlate with the Inquizitives. There are no practice exams or reviews, and tests make up 350 of the 500 points in the course.
I took an 8 week online class. Everything was there and available(except exams) up front, which was good, because you could work ahead if needed. My only complaint would be the papers, and that's because, I don't like writing them! Grades were given back quickly. If I had to, I would take her class again.
The class was easy enough. She makes you buy a textbook+subscription to a program (that I managed to get away with only using the free trial- 3 Weeks.) which is easy. Makes you write a lot; two pages single spaced to even be considered for an "A". Though I didn't write any of them and still got a B so, yeah.
If you take her in person and want an A in this class, you must read the textbook. No exceptions. She'll give a study guide before every test. Make sure to go over every single thing in that study guide. You're allowed to miss one test in case of an emergency, and you won't be penalized for it. A lot of my classmates didn't show up for the final.
Honestly one of the easier government teachers you can take at Lonestar. Really nice older woman. Drops the lowest test. Just do the readings and easy assignments and you'll be good.
Took the class online. It uses the textbook materials which are pretty easy, just stay on top of them. The class was basically follow that and do the simple assignments and it will be fine. I think this is probably the easiest government class at kingwood if you just make sure not to miss the work.
Save yourself from taking this class, absurd amount of work
