Very passionate about american literature. He has to be one of the smartest professors to grace the halls of UHD. He is new and therefore has yet to give up on the lack of writing and communication skills of some of our fellow students. He does challenge students to think for themselves and prove thier understanding of the material through writing.

He is a very smart man. Be careful and make sure you read the assigned stories and pay attention because the quizes are a little tough but he gives plenty of chances to make up. Easy A if you really apply yourself.

By far the best professor at UHD! His class is very enjoyable in many aspects. You can make an A if you don't have the "L.A.Z.Y." disease, as he calls it. He is a very passionate professor and you will cultivate an interest or strengthen your interest in literature after you take his class.

GREAT teacher!! I hate english classes but he made it really interesting and fun. I would definatly take his class again. He is really passionate about literature and you can tell really educated. Tests were a little hard, but if you study you should do fine. I love going to his class, makes me crack up every time. Read the stories!

Robertson is a high caliber professor who can be a difficult grader, but it is only to your benefit. His classes were a great time although you have to know your material. He has a good sense of humor and is well worth taking-IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS STUDENT.

Ok, Dr. Robertson will make you laugh. The first thing he said when we entered his classroom is , "Who are the crackheads?" He's witty and makes you LOVE literature. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He especially loves pretty girls.

Dr. Robertson is a very togther instruction and is very serious about his teaching. I would definitely reccommend him to fellow students.

Anyone who gives Dr. Robertson a bad review is a freaking moron. He is very kind and funny. He really wants you to get into the literature, plus he gives an insane amount of extra credit. I would definitely take him again; he is a very good person and makes this class so interesting.

What an instructor. Very professional . He is professional but still down to earth. Lectures are very easy to understand. You get the grade that you earn. I plan to take another class from him in the Fall 2007. I would definitely recommend him. No. 1 and hot too. He rocks. Whoever said he was a bore has really lost it or was just lazy.

This was a very enjoyable class. If you do not plan on doing your work (readings and assignments) then don't waste his or the rest of the classes time. If you actually care about your grades and do your assignments then this class is an easy A. You MUST follow proper grammar and you MUST be prepared for each class. Those are the keys to an "A."

Dr. V is awesome. I never enjoyed a Lit class as much as I did with him. He loves his material, and wants you to love it as well. His method of lecturing is amazing because he actually believes and feels what he is saying. He gives daily quizzes but his other assignments help you. If you show that you are interested in the material, he will notice.

I first took Dr. R for ENG 2312, and decided to take him again for another ENG course. GREAT prof. He makes the class interesting, a class with him will be a class that you actually want to get up for in the morning instead of dreading it.

He's a very cool teacher. The class is not hard. Participation and actively engaging in the literature is what helps you pass the class. You can't grasp the full meaning of the context unless you're in class. But nevertheless, he makes the class very interesting, and he doesnt discriminate. He's full of diversity and humor. A teacher worth taking!!

GREAT PROFESSOR!! i would highly recommend, i hate literature but he really helps you understand and ready to read the novels. Attendance is mandatory but then again how can you learn anything if you are not present in class? not a blow-off class, but if you really want to learn this is a great class and he is willingly to help you understand.

Dr. Robertson takes some getting used to. I really didn't like his sarcasm at first, especially the fact that he dishes it out, but can't take it.There is a lot of reading, but it's literature, so what do you expect? There are quizzes just about every day, so READ! I did well in the class, but that was with lots of effort. I'd def take him again!!!

It is very imperative that you go to class. He breaks down the real mean behind the author's purpose. There are easy quizzes at the beginning of class, so do the assigned reading. FYI: Familiarize yourself with the authors and what literary movement they were involved in and you will do great! P.S He's funny!

This guy is good, he makes you want to actually do your best. A few students dropped out, but thats life, you only make it hard if you let it. His door is always open, if you have any questions about the class or life just ask him, he does his best to help. I think like 3 writing assignments and a group project. Passed with an A++

I liked this class, but you should have a sense of humor if you take Prof. Robertson. you will work in his class but a very cool teacher! I would recommend him anybody who wants to do a little work and have some laughs in the process.

You have to come into this class with your mind open and ready to recieve a healthy dose of class interaction. Dr. Robertson does not shy at political-correctness and you enjoy the learning process because of it. To pass takes an effort but its good stuff, you walk out a better student.

Dr. Robertson is a great prof. The daily quizzes and notebooks aree for the slackers and they are the only ones who whine! Test are strait from course discussion and readings. Interaction is great. College students should know what they believe and have skin that can handle someone sharing the truth. Take him whenever u can!

Professor Robertson is the greatest!! He has a great sense of humor, and he made me laugh alot. He also has alot of open discussions, he is very down to earth and always available to help his students. Please take him, you wont regret it, cant wait to take him for my other english courses

He knows his subject extremely well and his standards and demands are high - I learned a lot and would recommend him - but it's definitely not a "cop- out" class. Learn to handle his sarcasm - it's not personal- just his style.

He is really hilarious. He makes the class interesting. He supports those who wants to learn. If u do not care about anything in his class, he would not care either. He use textbook not that often. Dr. Vida Robertson is an AWESOME teacher! he is the funniest guy i know. He is a good teacher, he makes you think about things in a different way. You will take a lot from this class. Very few quizzes, and a few papers. The work isnt hard, just do your work and you will be fine. He is always willing to help a student in need. i loved this class!

I absolutely love this man. Dr. Robertson is an extraordinary teacher. He encourages insightful dialogue in the classroom and forces students to handle the subject matter in a way that would would disallow anyone to leave the class not better off for it, unless the student came in with a poor attitude and an unwillingness to learn.

Dr. Robertson is energetic, passionate and he is delightfully challenging! Give everyday an honest effort and you will do great! Exams are difficult, prepare to study!

Very interesting discussion. The teacher is a very smart man but harsh grader. The tests are real tough as well as the grading on the papers. If you don't write exactly the way he wants it you're in for a bad grade.

Robertson is a challenging, amazing professor who is truly passionate about the material. For those who say he's obsessed with race, THAT IS THE LITERARY SUBJ MATTER of what you're supposed to learn in class in addition to the fact that it's still relevant to American lit today. he doesn't ruin your gpa, u do thinking u can just skate thru ur entire college career w/o ever being asked2work4 it. He is a great prof who wants2see students succeed but won't coddle them. (What for? it's college!). If u didn't do well it's b/c u don't know how2 use resources available to u &/or read & response to his assignments appropriately.

He is entertaining in a fun aspect but very hard. He grades based on personal preference and satisfication towards his opinions. You can never ask him to slow down or help you out in the middle of class or else he will kick everyone out. Overall not recommended, if there is an oppurtunity to choose another class choose it and keep away from this on

Best professor I ever had.

One thing I say is that Prof. Robinson really knows his material. He gets a little boisterous and irritating at times with his "jokes" but that's just the way he is. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who just wants a flyby class, or to anyone who hates to read. You really have to come to class prepared or it affects your grade.

A great professor if you are there to actually learn. He is very helpful and has a sense of humor. If you are not willing to work or are looking for an easy professor, you should not take him. If you actually want to learn and improve as a student, he is great.

This is the best Professor I have had. He is unique because he demonstrates throughout the semester that he cares first and foremost that you learn and can apply what you learn in your life. I am taking him again this semester. Not an easy A, you have to work for it but he makes you want to come to class. He is the opposite of boring. EXCEPTIONAL

Dr. Robertson is the best english professor@ UHD because he is very interested in you learning the material and he brings it to you in a very different way. I passed his class a c although I didn't deserve it but worst he worked with me and I passed his class hooray.

he's a good enthusiastic guy. obviously loves what he teaches, but he grades unfairly, is unorganized, often late and too playful. if you joke with him & he likes you, expect good grades. expect quizzes and papers to be returned several weeks later. expect alot of laughter at inappropriate times. expect no email response. expect to be flirted with.

This professor is the best I have ever had. He has high expectations and is tough, but fair. If you do not want to come to class and participate, he is not your guy. I think he is incredible!

Today was my last day of class, and I wish this was not the case. Dr. Robertson is by far the best professor I have ever had; he instills a desire to learn, and teaches so effectively. Took it as a summer class. Its more of a philosophy class than English. He is a nice guy and a great speaker but his class was very hard, he makes you think long and hard and think deeply about things. You cannot BS essays like you did in ENG 1301. The only reason I was able to pass with a C is because of the extra credit opportunities he gave us.

My experience with Dr. Robertson was phenomenal! He gives the most thought-provoking lectures. I have never left a semester feeling more grounded in my understanding of a text after taking his class. I HIGHLY recommend any and all of Dr. Robertson's classes, I can't wait to take him again!

Dr. Robertson, is a awesome Professor, however this is not a class to just think you are going to pass because you show up. This is a you want to pass" come and get it." You have to work for your grade. We had readings and pop quizzes on the readings, and three papers. the last paper is a 15 page paper but over time.

Dr Robertson was one of the best professors I have had in this University. His lectures are engaging and eye-opening. It's definitely a class where you'll have to earn and work for the grade you want. I enjoyed his class and will take again if I ever have the chance.

Dr. Vida Robertson is an amazing professor who utilizes many sources/materials online so that the students may have a better understanding of the course material. He also incorporates humor into the class this making the course very light.

Dr. Robertson is a phenomenal professor. I felt like I was in church every class because he was preaching! He challenged my brain to think very deeply the entire semester and I thank him so much for that. He brought out a part of me that I hadn't discovered. I now see how smart I really am because of him and im so thankful! Give him a raise!
