I had him before for Math 1300, his exams are all 20 question multiple choice. It isn't that I just plain don't know the material, but I little mistakes allowed me to go from passing grades to F's on my first two exams. Be careful, he's got a student in the math center to make up the answers for his exams. This means that answers are misleading

He gives quizzes nearly every day, but the quizzes come from your homework and it's open notes/book. However, the 3 tests consist of your homework,and quizzes. He tries to be as fair as possible. He curves just a little bit by dropping 2 of your lowest quizzes.

Finite class - I agree with most. Go to the lab and show you are trying. Ask him for help. He is a good guy overall and does want to pass you if you show improvement and effort.

Great professor, genuinely wants the student to do well. He will always show you the "easy" way to do a problem. Pay attention and do the homework, with Algebra it's all about repitition. He does give a lot of homework but it is very useful come test time. Be weary the final is departmentalized so test does not reflect to his style of teaching.

Stats is a tough subject and can be overwhelming if you're not constantly practicing the problems. However, Mr. Nguyen made the subject as easy to understand as possible. Do the homework (not required) and that will help out alot!

Great professor. He started out with easy problems so that students can understand then slowly increase the level of difficulty. He made subject matters fun to learn. If you don't understand anything then just take it to him during his lab hours and he will explain until you understood. Tests are fair. I highly recommend him.

Hands down one of the best professors ever. He is always calm and will always go into detail when he explains his material. Passing the class is up to the student if you listen to the lectures, a very passive but useful professor. Just make sure to listen and you're math troubles are over.

He is a very good professor. He breaks down everything and lets you know exactly what will be on the exams. The homework and quizes are onlined and that was a good 35% of the grade, which you would have no excuse not to complete because you have all semester to complete it.

I was a transfer student and had not been in school in a while. I spoke to him at the start of semester. He let me sit in on lectures since I was an online student. I thought he was very helpful and really wants his students to succeed. I would highly recommend him! Test are just like the review!!! You have all semester to take HW and Quizez.

There is no way to fail this class. The Professor was very clear on assignments and did not assign too much. Test were extremely fair. If you do the assignments the test questions are taken from the assignments. Thank God I found this professor, he made it so easy.

Tooko this class Summer 2014 and for the first time, I actually enjoyed my math class. Professor Nguyen makes this class easy, but only because video tutorials are provided and they show you exactly how to solve the problems. Also, do the homework because test problems are taken directly from the homework.

Professor was great!!! Had very good notes for the class, explained problems in more than one way ( better than the book explanation) :) Do all of the homework and reviews, it helped a lot with the test and the final..Dont cheat just study and you will do great!!! overall loved this professor recommend taking him and hope I can take him again! :)

Prof. was awesome! he spent time to explain and do ex. of the problems in a way easier than the book. Just do all the homework and make sure to do ALL reviews for the test and you will be fine. He helps as much as he can and gives you all the tools, its up to you to pass.

Took for Algebra 1. Tests are online in class. Take good notes. Do homework as he goes. Clear notes. A little hard to understand accent. Would take again. Did not open textbook, just buy online code (access to online textbook with access code).

He is a great professor! He teaches at a slower pace, but he does that to make sure you fully understand. He will take the time to help you after class. Attendance isn't mandatory for your grade. (Although i recommend attending.) Best part is My Math Lab isn't due until the last day of class so you have plenty of time!

Mr. Vien is very nice and caring person. Took it for summer 2015. Class is not too hard he will work the problems with you in class in a slow pace. Tests are not hard, Make sure you study the review and class notes. He will take attendance everyday. He want you to try on your own and then ask him questions. Highly recommended.!!!

Easy Class. Took him in the Spring Semester of 2015. He did not take attendance but I recommend attending because he does explain well. He answers all questions and you will know what you are doing by test time. I only got a B because I bombed the test I was skipping class for. Lol. Passed with an 89 though.

Only went to class for the first ten days which is mandatory, and the 4 test days we had which he posted since the beginning. Got 100 in all my test and gives extra credit if you finish your mymathlab homework on time. May be a lot for my math lab but an easy class easy A.

4 tests are based off mathlab, final is based off pop quizzes. do homework and he will give you bonus points. good teacher will teach you through calculator.

I took him both for Finite math and Calculus (1306) and got an A for both classes. He is easy to understand. Write everything he writes! Gives 10 extra points if homework and test review are above 90. Test reviews are pretty easy, and the final tends to be similar questions to the review, if not sometimes even the same problems. Make sure to study!

i took professor nguyen for online business calculus winter 2017. I have always had many troubles with online coarses yet i found this coarse very helpful. I know if i had taken any other professor i would at least drop a letter grade for sure. if you want to take this online class and have time to do mymathlab think no longer and take him!!!

I took his online class for Finite math and Calculus (1306) and got an A for both classes. The final tends to be similar problems to the 3 chapter test problems, along with the final chapter added. Make sure to study! I am now enrolled to take him for Stat 3309, on campus. I recommend taking him.

Professor Nguyen, class is lay out simple, with everything online. So it makes it easy to have busy schedule, and still be involved in his class as attendance wasn't mandatory. 3 test you have to do in person, test were set up easy similar to reviews. Homework were harder, there homework for every section. Though Professor has true love for math

Dr. Nguyen is an awesome professor. He teaches so nicely and he also provides good feedback. He cares for you and wants you to succeed. Professor Nguyen is one of the best math professors I have taken. He is very thorough and explains the theorems and concepts indepth. During class, he walks you through multiple problems and has students help him navigate through problems. If you make a mistake, he explains why it will not work out well. He drops lowest score and gives extra credit

I took professor Nguyen for 8 weeks Finite Math and did not regret it. His lecture is so detailed and you'll just have to copy what he wrote. He is very caring and his tests are not that hard. You'll have 3 exams and a comprehensive final. I am currently taking him for Cal for the next 8 weeks. I would take him again for other classes if he has it.

Connect HW, 4 tests on Mymathlab - lowest grade dropped. 11 quizzes on BB each have 4-6 questions only. Final was 32% of total grade. You have to get 50% and up to pass the class. It's not an easy class. Make sure to practice a lot or you will not pass.

I took this course Online during Fall 2018 Semester. Professor Nguyen sticks to the Syllabus. No late work will be accepted. Complete all Homework and Quizzez on time and you will do just fine.

I took him for Statistics and was very worried at first because I've heard horror stories about people failing statistics. However, he is a great professor. All of the homework and tests are done on MyStatLab and as long as you do the work, you'll make a good grade in his class. The final exam is cumulative so make sure to study well !

Great professor! LOTS of MyMathLab HW assignments, 4 tests (including final), and one signature assignment. I really liked his lectures because he teaches to make sure you understand the subject. If you don't know something, he doesn't make you feel dumb or bad. He is also available on zoom for office hours which helps for test feedback.

I'm not the best at math but I took Professor Nyugen due to the reviews I viewed last year. While taking his course online, I understood almost everything which I have difficulty understanding math. I passed and understood math like never before, definitely take him if you've been struggling with math all your life.

Self-taught class, all work is done through Knewton, homework is worth 15%, tests are worth 48% and the final is worth 37%. All tests are no lockdown, no webcam. Final is ProctorU and you can use notes.

This professor opened all assignments at the beginning of the semester which made it easy for me this way I finished all my work way beforehand. All assignments were on Pearson. Chapter Homework worth 15%, 3 tests worth 48%, and a Final exam worth 37% through ProcturU. She allows one paper with notes for the final. Replies to emails pretty quickly

I understood math for the first time because of him. He cares and wants you to learn and understand the content fully. I failed bc I missed classes due to personal reasons but I will be taking him again for Stats! Only downside is the final counts as 51% of your grade
