The best Math teacher I ever had. Attendance is not mandatory but if you do not miss class he will give you 100 points at the end. Homework is very easy 4 questions per chapter another free 100 points.He is always at the math lab ready to help you. You need to study for tests. Great Teacher!!!!

One of the Best Math teachers there! I felt like I was taking Math for Dummies. He makes sure everyone understands every step. You can miss a few classes & it won't affect your grade too much. Make sure you do the HW.

He is all about extra credit, which counts towards your test score. The test review is 15pts extra credit, can't get much better than that. Also, there are 16 total quizzes based on the week hw. Make sure you do the hw & show up for class...No problems passing.

I took this proffessor for Calc III and DE. His grading structure is easy, 10% of the grade is showing up to class. He bases his tests on the homework. I felt that some of the test questions were a little tricky . His accent can be a little hard to make out sometimes but he is more than glad to write what he is trying to say on the board.

Hard to understand accent at first. Very willing to meet with you one on one to help you understand. Some students were very Rude and disrespectful because of his accent. Very nice person and has a sense of humor when he gets to know you.

I really found this instructor to be great..yeah he has an accent..but really wants you to learn Algebra. He is all work...no play..but you will learn and you will pass his class if you come every day and put forth the effort. He made Algebra very simple to understand...Def take this instructor he is very good!

First off..I hate math. It's one thing I never liked, but he knows how to teach. He is patient & very helpful. He will explain until everyone understands. He's friendly, easy going & wants to make sure that all his students learn & understand everything. His teaching method is superb & I learned a lot. I actually enjoyed the class!

At first wasn't really sure what to expect, because it was a MATH class, but soon didn't mind going once i found out what a great teacher he was! Does have an accent, but you get used to it by the end of the first couple weeks. As long as you do the homework packets, tests aren't a problem. VERY nice, and stops for any type of question.Take him!

He is awesome! Very easy class. If you show up for class and do the little bit of work he asks you to do you will pass. He is very helpful and nice, if you have any questions just ask him and he will explain it to you until you understand. There Is no excuse for not passing his class. Will answer any question asked, religiously keeps office hours, no surprises on tests... His sense of humor is VERY subtle, but due to language difference, he can sometimes come off as condescending. I am convinced that this last bit is completely unintentional.

I took him over the summer. He's extremely helpful. If you do your homework and come to class you will pass. When he shows you how to do a problem do it EXACTLY like that or he will take off points or mark it wrong this include homework. And show your work for EVERTHING if you want credit.

Mr.Troung is very helpful and only wants his students to be successful. He is very patient and will help with any questions. There defenitley is a language barrier but it is easy to overcome if you just pay attention. Quizes are just one problem from your homework and tests are previous homework questions. Very easy class to pass.

Mr. Truong has been one of my favorite teachers at HCC. His quizzes are easy. You should do well on the test if you study. I would have gotten an A in the class but I didn't study as much as I should have. Really, very easy. I would highly recommend him.

Awesome teacher, he expects you to arrive in class ready to learn. Always take notes and do your homework, because he allows you to use your homework on the pop quizzes. Always study all of your notes before a test, because it will help you to achieve better on his tests. He always reviews the homework before moving onto the next section.Great!

If you STUDY, you will do well in his class-its that simple.He says over and over that if you need help, just ask him and he will help you. I got a B in the class-probably would have gotten an A, but math has always been the hardest subject for me. He was a little hard to understand first class, but you get used to his accent.

Seriously the best teacher. He starts with reminding you of the basics that you learned before and working up to the lesson for that day so its easier to understand and you don't get confused and overwhelmed. Awesome teacher...and I hate math!

He doesn't move on until everyone gets the concept. He cracks jokes and is very understanding He has a lenient attendance policy and allows 8 absences which was great for a mom of five! As far as it being an easy A, no, you will have to take some initiative and do your homework. I greatly enjoyed his class.

Truong is amazing!! Some complain about his accent, but after the first day of class you completely understand him. He will review as much as you want. I have taken him for all my Algebra classes. He is definitely one of my favorite professors. Don't EVER take out your phone in class though ;)

Great teacher!! I struggle immensely with math, and he taught new methods I had never seen before, and were SO much easier. Gives weekly quizzes that come directly from the homework. As long as you do the homework, you're golden. Definitely recommend!

One of the best teachers I've had. Super helpful. Sets timer for 30 minutes to go over homework but will spend more time if anyone has a question. Goes over past formulas and shows how they help with the current lesson. Good for cumulative tests! Wants all his students to succeed. Pay attention, do homework, ask questions and you'll do well.

Yes his accent is a little hard to handle at first, but Truong takes to time to answer questions and tackles the problems step by step. He is helpful and is actually there to TEACH, not just show, how problems are done. All his homework is from the book, and all quizzes from the homework. If you've in class, you'll pass.

This teacher is really good. I took him for 10 week summer class. Really easy calc when he explain.i get B in calc 1, I get C in calc 2, but when I take him for calc 3 I het A. I feel why I don't take calc 1&2 with him. He is really good professor for math. He explain every thing . If u can't get it then he ask again and again u get it .

Accent is very thick but easy to understand if you pay attention. Very helpful and will go through a problem over and over again until you understand it. DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONE DURING HIS CLASS!!!

The Prof. has this special gift for teaching math. I enjoyed his the math lectures and honestly understood the math. I am a student from another college and can say there is no other professor like him. I highly recommend him. Both my daughters are taking him for some of their math classes. I just love this professor. HCC is lucky to have him.

Truong is the best professor I've ever had in college. I started inter. algebra with him and I took all of his maths class up until Calc 1. I got C's in the easier maths classes, but an A in Calc. This is because I worked hard. Ask questions, he will help you 100%. Signed up for Calc2 with him, but PlantCity cancelled the class. Im sad. I LOVE HIM

If math is not your strong suit, I do not recommend. He works very quickly but does make sure the class understands. Only grades quizzes and tests, not homework.

Definitely happy to say I took his class. I am doing full time dual enrollment, but math has never been my strong suit; I took his Calculus 1 this semester (we are taking our final tonight) and I am already signed up to take his Calculus 2 class in the spring. Once you learn his accent, you'll be golden. He's an amazing professor.

Truong is a VERY EASY teacher. I took Calc II in the fall with another professor and failed miserably, and am retaking it this semester with him. If you can't pass this class with Truong you will not pass it with anyone else. He takes out the unimportant material, and also doesn't give you ridiculously hard homework questions.

I took this professor for intermediate algebra and college algebra and he was awesome. Very simple grading scale and never assigns a lot of home work but make sure you do your homework because those are the quizzes.

Love this teacher he doesn't grade homework and the quizzes he gives are problems straight from the homework that he lets you use during quizzes.

Mr. Truong gives homework but it's not graded, then the quiz you take is a problem straight from the homework and you can use your homework. He will go over every problem several times until you understand you just have to ask.

Professor Truong gives out quite a bit of extra credit during the first few weeks of class, which goes toward your first few tests. Make sure you do your homework, as the quizzes are copied directly from the homework assignments. He is goofy, so be prepared to laugh (respectfully). He will stop class over cell phone use, so don't have it out.

He's a great professor, if you don't understand something he will go back over the entire problem. Do all homework because he bases quizzes directly from it. If you don't understand other accents very well I wouldn't recommend because he has a very strong Chinese accent, but I could understand.

One of the best math professors at HCC. Grading is straight forward, and he assigns a small amount of homework. Cuts straight to the point and does not waste time talking about irrelevant subjects, so make sure to pay attention. He is always willing to help a struggling student. He makes complicated subjects very easy to understand.

Professor Truong is a really great teacher. Took his Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra class and got both A's. He gives a lot of extra credit during class and it get added to the test score. Would definitely take his class again. Highly recommended.

I HATED math before taking this class, this is now my 3rd math class with this professor. If my high school teachers taught this well I would've found some career in mathematics!!! This class is super easy if you attend and pay attention. Do your homework!! It's your pop quizzes. This professor is amazing and I would for sure take again,hands down.

I was a Transient Student. I took this class 13 times no lie! With him he made the class so much easier as well as learned new ways how to solve problems that I didn't learn from the previous attempts. The quizzes are an easy 100 points that he even let you copy straight from your homework. The test are straight forward, If you can do the homework

The class followed the syllabus to a T! DO YOUR HOMEWORK! the quizzes come DIRECTLY from the homework and he let's you use your homework as notes for the quizzes. Grade is based on a point scale system so it's easy to keep track of your grade. He is very eager to help and explain anything, you just have to speak up and ask!

Grades the best 3 out of 4 test and 10 out of 11 quizzes which are hw questions. He goes over everything. He is fast, but hell ask 4 times do you get it? If not speak up. The test are 20 ?s and the exam is from all the test. Just study and youll pass. If you pass the test and quizzes you dont have to pass the exam which I loved!

Very good professor, your total grade will consists of 11 quizzes, 4 tests, and the final exam. He will drop your worst test and quiz grade. Offers extra credit during lectures if you get the bonus question right, which will be added to your test grade. Quizzes are ALWAYS from the homework, which he allows you to just copy from your work.

I have had a hard time in the past with college algebra and taking this professor was what I needed. No online homework!! Regular hw consisting of like 10 problems was encouraged but not mandatory.. and do it because it helps. I got a B but with a little more work I could have certainly got an A. He also covers the test questions day by day.

Truong is a pretty good teacher. He drops the lowest quiz and test for you, and during class hell give you problems to do for extra credit on tests. Im not a math person, and I got an A in this class. He doesnt use any online programs at all, just teaches the old-fashioned way. Whatever you do, dont get on your phone during class.

I am terrible at math but Truong was great and his class was actually very easy to pass. Theres 4 tests, 11 pop quizzes and your final exam, he drops your lowest quiz and test score and offers extra credit in class to use towards tests. The quizzes are also based off of homework. awesome guy atten not mandatory but don't skip you'll fail like seriously. took for both inter. alg ( got a 99 overall grade) and college alg (final is only thing left and have a 98 so far) I intend to take more of his math classes if he has anymore cause he is just that amazing. explains VERY well. also, don't use your phone, you'll soon know why.

If you learn math by notes and step-by-step truong is your guy. He give five points extra after each lesson. He grades by four texts , 11 quiz's and final exam. Truong is one of my favorite teachers. All his classes have 11 quizzes, four tests, and one final exam. He drops one test and one quiz. The tests can be hard, but he offers extra credit opportunities to boost your score. Make sure to do your homework, as the quizzes are based off it. Professor Truong is the best teacher that I have ever taken at HCC! I have taken three math classes with him, so I know what I'm talking about. He makes math easy to understand and he offers lots of extra credit. Also, he drops one test and one quiz. If you work hard, you can easily get an A in his class. Take him!

Took him for 2 classes everything was easy just take notes and he gives hw after every class but he doesnt check it its just for you to practice so you dont have to do it but it did help to look back at during tests. There are only 4 tests. No pop quizzes nothing. Pretty easy class if you pay attention.

I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Truong to anyone that really STRUGGLES with math! He is the first professor that has finally made me understand how to do algebra. His accent is thick, but if you pay attention to him you'll understand. Show up to every class and study hard, you can do well even if you HATE algebra like me!

You dont really have to do the homework but you should just so you can get extra practice. But he taught everything on zoom was very adamant about you being in a steady location where you can learn like a table or desk but that was whatever. But if you answer questions in class you can get extra credit test grades where really the only ones. 10/10

He is the best Calc professor in HCC, this is my second time taking Calc 2. Everything is clear and straightforward with him, he doesn't go into this deep dive into the theorems(that can be overwhelming, some professors grade you on this), and he teaches the important stuff. He is an easy A or B if you participate and do your non-mandatory homework

Professor Truong always reminded everyone to stay on top of your homework and tests and reminding days or even weeks beforehand. Homework was 20% and tests were 80%, tests were similar to the homework. You get 3 tries for homework questions, easy A. Lots of time to get the homework done. Would recommend to anyone.

Probably the best math teacher at Hillsborough tests are hard for calculus obv because its calculus, but he dose not overwhelm you with homework and he is very good at answering any question you have. its very rare to have a teacher in math go through EVERY step in a math problem but he will do it everytime. great teacher.

Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. He gives plenty of extra credit that gets put on when you take your exam. Homework is optional but highly recommended because the pop quizzes are directly from the homework. He will sit there and go through every step until you understand. I would highly recommend taking a class with him.

Honestly if you like a very straight forward to the point class, this is for you. Recommend this class ONLY if you learn quickly and are already decent at math. Every day is new chapter(s) and quizzes are based off hw. Tests have questions directly from sections from hw. No makeup work. Drops lowest test. Mainly independent work. Online textbook

Everyone grading him low either took his online course or a sumer class which is obviously going to make any high-level math 10x harder especially a college calculus class. BUT in person during the regular semester, he is very helpful, gives a ridiculous amount of extra credit, and his tests 90% from homework GREAT math teacher VERY little homework

I have taken MAT 1033 & 1105, with him all online. Provides many resources such as a free online textbook, YouTube videos, written examples, & PPs. Tests are worth 80% and homework is worth 20% of your overall grade. There are extra credit opportunities and drops a couple of your lowest homework assignments. Also has late homework passes.

Professor Truong's MAC1105 course can be challenging, but with dedication it's manageable. The homework and tests are weighted heavily, so attending class and using resources like Unstuck study are key. If you struggle with math, this class may be a good fit - just come prepared to work hard.

Possibly the easiest MAT-1033 course to pass, AS LONG as you don't wait until the last minute. Most assignments are easy to ace, but VERY time consuming. The extra credit offered will absolutely save your grade, just complete tests a few days earlier than the due date. If you struggle with math because of how tests are weighed, TAKE THIS CLASS.

This class was very easy and straightforward. He gives extra credit if you complete tests on time. If you forget to turn something in, he's helpful and understanding. I would definitely take this class again and recommend it to others!!!

I loved him. He says Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want to pass, it is. I never understood math better, though, and I have ALWAYS struggled. he drops the lowest quiz and test grade. Test heavy though. NO PHONE IN CLASS! His one rule. Pop Quiz is just a homework question he allows you to copy it. He sometimes gives you the answer beforehand

The assignments are straightforward and the lecture material is understandable. Professor gives extra credit to students who do exams early and when exam questions were not loading right. He does not take late work but he is reasonable with the workload. Literally all you have to do is do your assignments on time and pay attention to lectures.

If you have testing anxiety and are worried about *passing*, you sure will if you get your (20pt) extra credit by doing the test 2+ days before the deadline. Had an A all semester but then tanked it by giving into fear on the last test. The online textbook is free but kinda sucks, the videos aren't bad. Test expectations are glass clear, so easier.
