Professor Patel is very knowledgeable about the course material, but spends more time grilling students on their opinions than getting through coursework. Leaves little class time for group work and constantly interrupts a people as they present.
There is a reason why Mr.Patel Has 5 Starts He's not like other professors he actually cares and is very passionate about what he is teaching. The class is very fun and interactive. You have a short attention span? Don't worry Mr.Patel will keep you on your toes in a fun way . Patel Connects what he teaches to real life and current teachings.
The professor will ask a lot of questions and will choose students randomly to answer questions. He assigns a couple of Group Projects which count a lot towards your final grade. Overall, he is a very caring professor who wants you to succeed.
The professor is very kind and wants students to do well but had all the work for the term due on back-to-back days and was rude while students were presenting.
Worst professor in my 3 years here. Transphobic, called transgendered people "extremists". Worships Elon Musk. Not allowed to have different opinions without penalty. Bullies people that participate. All grades are arbitrary. He gave the people that scored the highest on the group project the lowest grades then only fixed it after complaints.
He bullied a classmate DURING a presentation so viscerally multiple people reached out in the groupme following the presentation to tell the group they did amazing and he was being mean. The student was the most joyful student in the class as well. Visibility = redicule = worse grade. 98% median on final project, but high scorers got a 76.
Patel is the worst professor I have had. His assignments are confusing, belittles his students, his class times are pointless, you take midterms on material undiscussed,& you do massive group projects no guidance.I'm appalled this professor is allowed to teach such a high level course, especially one necessary to graduate from the business school.
RUDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Creepy and poor sense of humor. He thinks we are laughing with him but we are more than likely laughing at him. He reuses the same jokes over and over so it gets annoying rather than amusing.
One of the worst professors ive ever had, idk why he has such a high rating. Screams at people & interrupts DURING their presentations, so rude, exams on undiscussed material, group assignments due multiple times a week- doesnt tell us about assignments/guidelines, doesnt help us through globus at all, bad internet connection and blames us for it.
Terrible. Very mean to his students and will make fun of you.
As an International Management professor, it was shocking to me how racist he was. He roasts each student, claiming that it is his way to make the class more fun. The tests in this class were easy (online). However, he will roast you during presentations, he also has a stimulator that he will not teach you anything about. Annoying Tesla Lover
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR EVER!!! AVOID! Very easy to make a good grade but he is so racist and overall disrespectful to all students. Should not be allowed to be a professor!! Said presentations would happen on a set date and had presentations happened a week before with no notice. Taking points away for not being there to present with no notice.
He doesn't cover assignments in class, and doesn't open the floor for questions about assignments. Also asked us to turn in the final project 3 weeks early
Absolutely terrible in all things, everything from humor to teaching to communication is horrible. He thinks we are laughing with him when we are really laughing at him, he is racist and misogynistic, his emails are just copy and pasted from years prior so the information is often old and the dates wrong.
He is heavy on lectures and making the class conversational. There aren't any notes to be taken. It's best to just listen and and answer the questions he asks during class time. He is good for calling people out and trying to get everyone involved. Be ready to talk and participate. There is a lot of homework, but he is an easy grader.
He is very engaging and will call on you. You will need to have a name placard or paper with your name on it, I think it helps him with names. He is funny and tries to make the class interesting. The class is team oriented from the beginning. You will rely on your teammates if you miss a class to keep you up to date so communication is key here.
2 midterms that are open books and online without Lockdown browser. 2 group project : one simulation game and a report about a company. Class is easy.
Dr. Patel may not rank among the top professors I've encountered, but his expertise in the course material is commendable. Nevertheless, a significant portion of his teaching involves sharing jokes and scrutinizing students, particularly during presentations.
I understand why he has a high rating on here. All of the work for this class is in the first 2 months of the semester and then you literally have nothing to do.
Tough simulation, long presentation, jokes a lot. but good
Good professor. Uses a lot of real world scenarios and implements them into his lecture! Very passionate about the future technological advances and running a business.
Prof Patel is a smart instructor. He actively engages students by randomly calling on them during lectures to ensure everyone participates and is listening. The grading system involves group projects, presentations, and a few exams spread throughout the semester. I would recommend him as a top prof at uncc.
Very nice professor.
Class was fairly easy, entertaining.
Dr. Patel is a very entertaining speaker. He provides many real-world examples in his lectures which he discusses with the class. He attempts to use humor to engage the class, although his jokes are, at times, poorly received. A drawback is that he has an unclear grading system with many assignments having no impact on the final grade.
Professor has two projects that are team based. CESIM was stressful at first but as long as you try and are willing to explain your reasoning behind decisions (even if they don't succeed) through the presentation it will be fine. The grading was not harsh however, be prepared to answer questions when presenting as he will put groups on the spot.
He is laid back but no clear grading scales/criteria for projects and assignments. Sometimes sounds rude when he jokes. Easy class though.
You are graded off of a select few assignments. The professor lectures quite enthusiastically, however, he makes somewhat abrasive and uncomfortable attempts at jokes. If you have a blunt sense of humor, it probably won't bother you, but if you have a protective bone in your body, you will probably be offended a lot.
I took him for online strategic management and he gives good examples of what one might have to deal with in real life corporate world. I think he really cares about his students in his own way, and he makes things interesting. I would take his class again because he taught me things I know I will use further in my life. He is a good professor.
I took his IB class and I think he is a good professor. He just wants his students to learn what we might have to go through when we enter our careers. He gave us really good insight and valuable advice. We have to do CESIM which is a challenge but interesting. Then we have some individual work and two presentations that you do in a group.
Good professor, would take him again. A little disorganized but as long as you participate you will pass.
The only rough thing about this class is Globus because he gives no help on it
He connects with the students well
He is great Prof. The class is easy. I really learned a lot.
If you can take a joke and critiques then you will be just fine.
This course content is honestly boring but tests are online and he is an easy grader. He often rambles about real life application stuff instead of course content but he actually cares about our futures. I didn't love him, didn't hate him. You'll have 2 group projects, 2 exams, a simple semester long project, and no homework.
Not too bad if you do what you're told
Took the online class, attendance is mandatory with cameras on for Zoom, pretty much there the whole 3 hours. The class can be tough if you have group members who don't participate. However, he is a pretty relaxed when it comes to grading and when it comes to his feedback, just go with it. He's the best professor for this class so.
Super easy A - This professor is insane though. If you can deal with crazy you will pass with no problem. The entire class is a group project. He made us turn in 20 assignments but only the exams and simulation count. Prof's Character: 1/10 Respected by class: No God-complex: Yes Class difficulty: 1/10 Will you learn anything at all: No
Overal the material for this class was not bad, there was projects but doing them in groups made it more doable. He is the type to interrupt during your presentations. But as long as you do not take anything personally you are fine.
At least youll pass
At least youll pass the class
There was two group presentations. They are not to hard but he speaks and gives his advice during the presentations. If you don't like this, then he isn't the teacher for you. Exams aren't hard at all. Randomly calls on students during class to engage in conversation. Overall not a bad professor if you can handle criticism.
Overall this is a super easy class to take. The professor does have engaging lectures, although sometimes his jokes can be insensitive. The work assigned is not hard, the test are not hard, the group projects are graded pretty fairly. One downside is constant interruptions during presentations. But you'll have no difficulty passing this class.
He cares about the improvement of his students although his ways of going about that may be disliked by others. He will interrupt you, question every action and thought, believe his word above all... but instill resilience and critical thinking skills that are essential for success in the corporate jungle. He'll also unwaveringly defend Elon Musk.
Was racist and rude to students. Will randomly call on people throughout the class. He would insist that everything he says is correct and if you disagree, even with facts to back it up, that doesn't matter... he's still correct (in his mind). Globus is the simulation you use for a very large chunk of your grade and he doesn't explain it at all.
When it comes to group presentations be prepared for LOTS of questions. Attendance isn't required but you should try to be in class. The professor is a funny guy and makes lots of jokes so lectures were for the most part enjoyable.
Professor Patel cares about teaching you the things you need to know. He does this in an unconventional way that many people do not enjoy. He does not realize how sensitive our generation can be, so some of his comments get misconstrued as offensive when there is no ill intent behind them. Presentations are rough, but you will learn from them.
Students complain about his comments towards them, but there is no ill will in his comments. He has an unconventional way of teaching that can be inconvenient and difficult at times, but overall he is effective and will make sure you learn what will benefit you in the future. Presentations are difficult but beneficial. The simulation the same.
Professor Patel seems to care about his students a lot. He is a good person. However, he doesn't seem to take the class very seriously himself. A lot of the class seems to be made up on the spot, and discussions don't seem to be related to the class material. A lot of emphasis on group projects and he will interrupt you while you present.
Mr. Patel has an unmatched enthusiasm for the subject matter, which makes the classroom lively and exciting. Instead of just imparting facts, his lectures are fascinating stories that listeners are interested in and cultivate a sincere passion for the material.
Easy going. Talks about his life experiences and relates them to class lectures. Doesn't take attendance, but I recommend you go because he is engaging. Isn't a tough grader, however, will drill you with tough question while presenting because he wants to prepare you for the challenging questions you will face in the real world.
I would recommend this class. There is a lot of work at first but then once presentations start, it isn't too bad. Professor Patel is really funny and there is a lot of discussions. You have to participate to get a good grade but if you put in the effort, you will get a good grade.
Attendance isn't required but when you do attend be prepared to be called on and engaged with. Professor can be intense at times, but cares about students passing and isn't harsh grader.
It is an easy class if you put in the effort. He is a good professor but very opinionated and vocal about his opinions.
His class was very easy. There were 2 projects in this class and about 2 or 3 assignments.
Patel chooses obvious favorites in his classes and doesn't treat many students with respect. It is extremely clear Prof. Patel only cares about a paycheck. This prof. makes this difficult SUPER EASY, but he won't respect you, doesn't care what you have to say, and is to wrapped up in his self-centered ways to leave students with anything useful.
Very engaging in class, talks a lot about real world examples and calls on students to participate in conversation often. Mainly group work for the assignments/projects but not a tough grader.
Don't do it.
He doesn't normally teach this class so he didn't take it seriously. He flew through the PowerPoints that didn't really teach anything & told us to use AI (Bard) on our assignments. He also made us purchase a software that we used for a week & didn't talk about it after that. He's misogynistic, kinda racist, and loves Elon Musk. Bad prof, Easy A.
Literally the easiest class I've ever taken. Only professor I've ever rated because it was so easy.
Professor Patel's lectures are full of valuable and insightful information. You are required to read and do a lot of assignments outside of class time, so if you fall behind in those it will affect your grade. He really values engagement and showing up to class. If you are present, answer questions, and have a good attitude you will pass the class.
I had a great time taking this class and I suggest Dr Patel's for anyone pursuing a business degree.
Class is based on group work besides exams (online no lockdown), so if your group sucks then it's rough. There are two papers (he encourages the use of AI), and a "business simulation game", which is all completed within your group. He is an interesting guy and is very controversial but easy A. He doesn't provide feedback, just throws a grade.
Professor Patel truly cares about his students. He uses a management simulation, two group projects, and two exams to force students to learn something throughout the semester. However, he is a very easy grader and cares more about what you learned than the content of projects and the simulation. 10/10 recommend him for the capstone course.
Taking this class with Professor Patel was so worth it. At first, I had heard that he was going to grill our groups and give us a really hard time with our presentations, but in reality he just wants to challenge his students to make sure they understand what they're talking about. Overall, extremely easy class, easy A, and professor is a nice guy.
Professor Patel is a great professor. He values participation and attendance. If you show up, answer his questions, and participate in class discussion you will do well. There are two group projects and quite a few other assignments, but overall the class is easy. He is a really nice guy and I enjoyed his class.
Prof. Patel's lectures feel like a one-man show, with tangents, dry humor, and a dismissive attitude toward conflicting opinions in class debates. Tech struggles, 40 wpm typing, Elon Musk obsession, and lack of genuine learning. You may have the opportunity to revisit high school economics between several poorly curated youtube videos.
I took Patel for MGMT 3280 and he can be stern at times but there's a lot of opportunity to receive a good grade in this class. Globus simulation was probably the hardest assignment in this class. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
He is a very chill teacher. Be prepared to write a couple papers, make PowerPoints, and present them. Everything you do is group work. You us a simulation called Globus for most of the semester which everyone gets a good grade on. Overall he's a nice guy who emphasizes the power of AI.
Professor Vijay was awesome all semester. Didn't make class boring like other college courses. Take him!!
Vijay had an entertaining class, if you show up and put time into globus there is no excuse not to succeed. The exams are open book and online with no lockdown, and outside of exams he is an easy grader. Presentations are more of conversations with him while you stand in front of the class.
interesting class
He's knowledgable, funny, and cool. If you attend the class, you will pass. The only disadvantage I would say is that he will make you feel uncomfortable presenting if your work doesn't satisfy his expectations.
Dr. Patel is a good professor. He does want his students to be included by being involved in the class. But I wish he did not criticize students during presentations because he would technically be the one presenting, not the group. So that is one thing that he does need to improve on.
Professor Patel is passionate about student learning. He uses engaging activities like a management simulation, group projects, and exams to ensure students are actively learning throughout the course. Professor Patel prioritizes understanding concepts over getting perfect grades. He's a great choice for the capstone course - highly recommend!
Professor Patel is passionate about teaching and truly cares about the success of his students, in his class and beyond. He can come off rude at times and has a weird way of showing constructive criticism, but he means the best and wants to help. He keeps everyone engaged through humor. Overall, I learned a lot and would recommend Professor Patel.
Easy grader but doesn't grade until the end of semester. Lectures a lot but gets off topic all the time. Only got through 4 chapters this whole semester but were still tested on all the chapts. He encourages the use of AI on assignments and papers. The study abroad portion was fun but I don't feel like I gained/learned anything about Management.
Dr. Patel was a very enjoyable professor to have for this course. He seemed to be extremely passionate about topic of international business and always gave great examples during lectures. The exams are super easy, completely online and open note. For presentations, he tends to critic constantly with many pauses, but overall the class was great!
This class was great. Dr. Patel was a kind man and encouraged participation. The syllabus was clear, and assignments were not very challenging. However, grading assignments took a while and PowerPoint presentations were too long due to constant interruptions. However, Dr. Patel is still the best option for MGMT 3280. Strongly recommend.
Dr. Patel is a nice man and has a great sense of humor. He will keep you laughing the whole class and can give you real-world scenarios for every situation. However, Dr. Patel is horrible with technology. Also, when you come to class he often seems to make up what he going to do that day right then.
Love this professor! This class is very lecture heavy so be prepared to sit through them but the Prof Patel's personality makes up for it. Big Cesim project and a couple smaller assignments here and there but it really wasn't bad. He can be seen as a harsh critic but I think he just wants the best you.
Grades are very light in the class, but he is generally an easy grader. He tends to try and bond with the students, which leads him to say some questionable things, but he means well. I would recommend taking this class in person, because it is a lot more confusing online, plus he will commonly have connectivity issues.
He is very engaging with his students and will try to make connections from the lecture to current events happening in the world. He is also an understanding professor.
Good luck with CESIM, overall was a good class!
Very engaging professor who challenges you ON THE SPOT. But if you don't know the question or just wasn't prepared he won't harp too much or push you too hard. Group projects happen throughout the semester with the same random group. Professor is very opinionated but not in a harmful way more so he has knowledge to apply to us and is funny.
You won't learn anything but it's an easy A. He likes to pick on students and call them out for not agreeing with his beliefs. Don't let these ratings fool you, he makes his students use RMP FOR extra credit just for him to look good. He's pretty easy and its a straightforward class but you wont gain anything out of it
Loves Tesla and Elon Musk, talks about them basically every class. Tests are very easy and straightforward, group projects are pretty easy and presentations are easy, he likes to joke around for 5-10 minutes at the start of class but mainly does so by making things up about students, kind of strange. Overall a very OK class.
Prof. Patel is someone who has had a lot of experience in the real, and as a result, provides a valuable perspective. This class is relatively straightforward, focusing on collaboration and enhancing public speaking abilities. Prof. Patel challenges you during the middle of presentations which I found unique and extremely beneficial.
Professor Patel is a very good teacher. He makes us laugh in class and tries to make connections with us. You must work with your group to receive a good grade on Glo-Bus for his management class but other than that just attend class and interact with him and you should pass.
I did not learn anything in this class. The exams are open-book so super easy, but half your grade will be group work. The prof was extremely rude to students all semester, and made multiple racist comments to students of color. I dreaded this class every time I got to campus. It's unlikely you will fail if you go to class though.
Professor Patel is a good professor. He likes to make jokes and wants all of his students to participate in class discussions. If you go to class and participate, you will get a good grade.
Professor Patel is very involved with his class and encourages discussion! Several group projects but there is enough time allocated between them to work diligently. Course focuses heavily on Glo-bus simulation.
Overall, this is a great class to take as a capstone. Now that you are close to the end, this is one class you can take and not have much pressure during the semester. The group projects are terrible, no accountability for those who do not contribute. Other than that, not bad. He is opinionated, so get over it. Just smile and get the A.
There is not much busy work in this class 2 Test and 2 group projects. Be prepared to be stopped during presentations he is very big on that. With that presentations will take 45 minutes instead of 10. He loves to talk and get involved in discussions about the world.
There are a good amount of group projects but they are all easy as long as your group members do their part. Professor will pick on random people to contribute to the conversation. Lectures can be kind of boring but just be prepared and talk with confidence. Tests are easy as well. They are online!
Overall really good professor for mgmt 3280
Lots of group work and only have about 7 grades assignments including the projects/exams. Very lecture heavy but overall is very interesting.
Overall he is Ok, Won't be the first professor I would chose for this class. It is a easy class just have to show up. The assignments are pretty long and are group assignments. If you have a good group then this class will be easy, but if not then good luck. Sometimes his comments can be out of pocket and can be considered rude but an easy A.
Overall, the class was easy as long as you show up to most classes and do your group projects. Assignments aren't hard but you have to have a good group.
You will learn a lot but it may be overwhelming and stressful for most bc of his teaching style. Overall good experience. Would recommend it over any other professor teaching this class.
If you wanr easy A then take him. If you want to learn something valuable then don't waste your time taking his class.
it was okey
Great teaching style and was excited to go to class. Take him!
Take him if you want an easy A and an easy class.
Great experience and very funny and respectful teacher, would take again.
Professor Patel made this class an easy class, we did not use the textbook at all, and he can be very slow in putting in grades.
Dr. Patel is good overall. The class has a period where papers are due week after week, but it's more than doable. Be prepared to be interrupted during presentations though and PRACTICE THE GLOBUS SIMULATION! Everything is group work in this class outside of exams (super easy though), so pray you get a good group cause he assigns them randomly.
Easy prof but just watch out for group projects. If you end up with a bad group, you're doomed.
Cool professor, pretty easy class. They use Globus which requires you to work in the same group throughout the semester. Two easy exams, two quizzes, and a couple slight projects.
His class consists of group work & a simulation called GLOBUS, 2 presentations, & 2 exams. His class is not very challenging if you put in the work. The only struggle in class is that during the presentations, he will be harsh & drill your group with questions. Yet, he won't grade harshly. You will just feel flustered during presentations.
Great class, 2 papers and 2 group presentations. And you will use Cesim, honestly Dr. Patel is very nice, he does fill class periods on tangents vs. slides but he is very good. I would absolutely take him again.
Very informative professor, had engaging lectures, seemed to be very passionate about his field of work!
Passionate Professor, very evident how much he cares about students and their success.
I enjoyed the class with Professor Patel, I learned a lot about strategic management and to develop as a professional.
He likes to engage people in his lectures and class is mandatory so pay attention because he calls on people at random. There are not many grades so it can be kind of difficult. Absolutely loves group work; pretty much every assignment aside from the test will be done in your groups.
He can be rude and interrupt you during class discussions. All the assignments are group work and presentation heavy. I wouldn't take his class again because his canvas is extremely unorganized and wants to hear himself talk rather than get through the material at a good pace. Also, required material costs extra on top of niner course pack.
Professor Patel is huge on class discussions and participation. He divides us into teams at the beginning and everything besides exams are done in a group. This can be helpful because there are a lot of reports. I would take a class taught by him again.
Professor Patel wants to see his students succeed. Participation matters so make sure to attend class. His Canvas page is a bit disorganized so make sure to know when assignments are due. The class consists of a group simulation and a couple group projects. He assigns the teams randomly. Overall he is a good professor to learn from.
He loves Elon Musk!
He loves Elon Musk! Participation is important to him.
Professor does a great job of simplifying topics and giving real world applications. He is knowledgeable and wants the best for his students, causing him to push his students in discussions/presentations which feels like a lot of pressure, but is helpful. Attendance and participation is mandatory and the course is almost fully group work focused.
Took this class online as a summer class. All the assignments are team based and you get assigned a random team at the beginning. Professor Patel is a funny man and he has great discussions in his class. I would take him again!
Dr. Patel is a very pleasant professor. He keeps the conversation flowing and keeps it entertaining and interesting. This course is graded by few assignments but they are all team based except the exams. Take him!
Professor Patel made class interesting by always having his students engage in conversation with him. He talked about things going on currently and showed lots of videos. He loves Tesla and Elon Musk. I enjoyed his class I thought it was interesting and he is pretty laid back.
A very personable professor, he cares about making a connection with students so as to better pass along his teaching points. As this was an online course, there was much more back and forth during the lectures, which felt more like inquisitive conversations. Overall, an effective teacher on the subject.
Class is great and well thought out highly recommend taking any classes with him.
The professor is really passionate about what he is teaching and he really does care for the success of every student he teachers. Participate consistently every class and take the time to put in the work for the assignments if you want to do well in the course.
Great professor, a lot of experience. Be ready to participate on all sessions
Great class. This review is for a 5-week summer session, the course was demanding. Lectures are engaging. Participation and attendance is required. The professor wants to see you succeed and learn.
professor cares about learning the material, exams are not terrible, definitely pay attention in class,
From the very first lecture, it was clear that Professor Patel is deeply passionate about the subject. This enthusiasm was infectious and motivated the entire class to engage more deeply with the content. His lectures were well-structured and clear, breaking down intricate concepts into manageable and relatable pieces.
Runs on tangents but very good professor. 2 tests and two presentations plus glo-bus. I would absolutely take him again.
Was not too bad for a summer class. During this class you do a lot of group work and a couple of projects. Overall it's a pretty easy class that allows you to think on other levels when it comes to running a business.
Was a very fast paced class in the summer and wish the assignments were spaced out more. Overall, really enjoyed the class and teamwork.
I thought the professor was a very cool guy and he was the only professor who embraced the use of AI like ChatGPT. I feel like his lessons really set me up for the future and he was a fair grader
Professor Patel encourages participation. He uses humor to lighten the mood of the class and get everyone relaxed. The Globus simulation is so confusing and stressful, and if you get stuck with a bad group you're toast. He simulates the real world in presentations when he grills you, so you 100% have to know to the letter what you're talking about.
Took this in summer term. 5 weeks. While the assignments were stacked together because of the compressed semester, I loved how quick and to the point it was. I feel like taking this in a full spring or fall term would be harder.
Great professor!
You will be fine if you have a good group and the communication is good. The assignments are not very difficult. Two exams and Globus assignments. The exams are open book and open notes.
Professor Patel makes this class engaging. Attend lectures and put in the work - you'll learn a lot. Tests are manageable if you stay on top of things.
Professor Patel is an engaging instructor who encourages active participation. The workload is manageable with exams and presentations. I found unstuckstudy ai helpful for preparing, alongside the course materials. Overall, an enriching experience.
Lots of useless discussions, very very very vague about all the assignments and projects, read off the slide, mandatory camera on, calls you out a lot of unnecessary discussions, is very work loaded, his wifi sucks so lots of choppy audio all class.
Not a great experience. Had to buy the online textbook and also buy other online documents in order to do assignments. Just always paying for material through out semester. Rude professor making personal jokes about students. Lots of assignments and don't get graded through out semester so don't know your standing until the end. Cameras on.
He's a pretty good professor. Does his best to make class an interactive & enjoyable experience. He likes to joke around quite a bit which overall is enjoyable but occasionally he can ruffle some feathers with comedically intended statements so if you are EASILY offended his courses may not be the best for you. Group projects, 2 exams, light work.
Professor Patel is passionate about his subject and does seem to care about the success of his students. Online? Cameras must be on. 2 Exams, 2 Team Projects (Paper & Presentation for each). Unneeded political commentary, I'll never understand why professors feel the need to do this. Otherwise, a great experience.
Professor places high value on class participation. Group project is centered around Globus Simulation project. Professor uses lectures, videos, and real-life examples to explain and explore business concepts. Impromptu questions happen frequently, which may make some students uncomfortable, but as long as you engage, he's harmless.
Overall, good experience. Be sure to have your camera on, participate in class discussions, and give him grace. He has good intentions but can come across as abrasive at times. You will primarily use textbook to study for exams. Although he lectures at almost every class, the material is not straight from textbook, but tests are from book.
Professor Patel is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He didn't lecture one time this semester. He just stands at the front of the class and says controversial and inappropriate things...and then wonders why no one shows up to his class. But then he says if you don't come, he'll give you an F.
Dr. Patel is a very interactive professor. He teaches through lectures but will often call on people to get them involved. Group work and presentations make up most of your grade, but he will provide a lot of feedback and guidance if you ask for it.
Professor Patel was awesome, he is very engaging with his lectures and cares to see his students succeed. He will call on people throughout the class quite frequently so be prepared to get called on. Lots of group presentations & projects as well so make sure your surrounded with people that will contribute. Exams are also asynchronous and easy.
Dr. Patel was a great professor and really made sure that we understood how to apply the information we were learning. He was really witty and got to know each person in the class through his jokes haha. Assignments and exams were very easy. He sees something special in all of his students.
Professor Vijay Patel is knowledgeable and brings a lot of real-world examples to class He's approachable and willing to help students outside of class, which is always a plus. he's solid professor who genuinely cares about students' success.
This teacher is very all over the place when he teaches. He has these lectures where he basically of skips randomly through the slides as he talks to students or other things that don't even pertain to the slides. There is a good amount of group projects that you need to complete that are not too hard but does take up a good amount of time.
Lots of group projects, but the class is not too difficult. He goes off topic during classes at times, and attendance is not always mandatory.
All and all Prof Patel is a nice guy. He rambles in class a lot but lectures aren't mandatory and the test are online. I find it too be a super easy class we are only graded on 4 things. two test, Cesim, and a group project. I would take him again.
Unconventional professor. Classwork is overall pretty easy. Just do it and you'll pass. However he is set in his beliefs and if he disagrees with you he will sternly tell you how wrong you are. His love fest of Elon Musk is interesting to say the least. He means well but unfortunately will make a lot of inappropriate comments.
Dr. Patel means well in everything that he does, but does get off topic at times in the class. Uses humor to keep everyone engaged. Pretty lecture heavy, but class attendance is not really mandatory. A couple of group projects and presentations during the semester that make up most of your grade along with 2 exams. Not an overly difficult class.

I had professor Patel this semester, and i really enjoyed his lectures and his hilarious comments. The exams were easy and the presentation as well. TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT an A
Professor Patel is really a good professor to take this class with, i enjoyed his lectures every time i go to class, cuz he teaches you by experience and shows you how to use the tools you got to learn and engage, the exams are easy and the presentations was a not that difficult to worry about just follow his instructions.
Professor Patel is very caring. This class is group work heavy, just make sure you coordinate with your group and you'll be fine. Just show up and you'll be okay. Cameras were mandatory for online class. Tests were open note.
They're knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. Their lectures are clear and engaging, and they're always willing to help with questions or feedback. If you put in the effort, you'll not only do well but also enjoy the class. Be ready to work in groups and put in effort!
Enriching assignments, but Dr. Patel is a bit unorganized and slow to admit fault. Announcements/assignments are reused and may contain conflicting or missing information. Tends to only see things from one POV if concerns are brought up. Respect goes both ways. Regarding students as lazy and incompetent shouldn't be the default.
Overall I think his class was enjoyable. The classes never felt forced and he made the material interesting. The group projects were also a much better experience than classes I had before. He definitely isn't a "read off the slides" and goes "off script" but it's what makes him more interesting than others. Also I learned a lot.
He was very cheerful and tried to make the class more interesting but sometimes he would go off on tangents. He did not get grades in on time and it was almost all group work. Be prepared to be grilled during presentations.
Lots of group work, but overall if you show up to class and participate you should be able to end with a good grade.
I was disappointed with this professor's ability to educate. I really enjoyed the reading material and was surprised how irrelevant it seemed during lectures but we only took exams based on the textbook. We used GLOBUS heavily in the beginning and working in a team with unmotivated, carefree individuals made my experience that much worse. Not good.
Overall this was an easy class. He keeps lectures engaging through jokes and discussions. There are two group projects throughout the semester so be prepared for some collaboration.
Class wasn't too bad. 2 tests and two presentations plus glo-bus.
Patel is a super interesting professor and he has a lot of personality so keep that in mind. There are times where it is lecture heavy and also times where he will be looking to the class to respond. Make sure to actually show up to class, especially when there is group work so you can interact with your team and ask questions about the assingment.
Dr. Patel is demanding but fair. He really wants his students to leave his class being strategic thinkers and value added to any organization. He go above and beyond to keep the class interesting. There's not a lot of homework, but there are multiple group projects throughout the semester.
Dr. Patel is a fair professor and makes the class enjoyable. He cares about his students' learning and their development to prepare them for their professions. Grading was heavily based on two exams which were open note and two group projects one placing a heavy emphasis on the Globus simulation. Show up to class and you'll do well.
The professor is pretty easy, and would absolutely take the class again!
Online, mandatory attendance, mandatory camera on. 15+ page essays (group work) which never got graded. insults students. lots of group work projects, assignments, presentations. cuts you off during your presentations. unclear grading rubric. would NOT recommend. I wish I did the capstone course Spring break trip in lieu of this class. 0 stars
You can tell he is passionate about his teaching but the classes aren't very stimulating so many people don't pay attention. The other thing is that he doesn't assist much with the Glo-bus simulation and while self-teaching is important, many people taking his class are not management/finance/economic majors so it's very frustrating.
Professor Patel is a caring professor who wants great discussions. He uses humor to get some of his points across and loves Elon Musk. In the online class, I felt he could have cut some things out, like some videos, because they would lag half the time. Overall, he is a good professor who wants students to work hard.
Don't worry about the quiz for glo-bus. Don't even study for it. It's worthless and no one gets above a 50%. No websites will help you with it. Everything else is easy in the course, just be prepared for lazy teammates. That's the only big downside.
Professor Patel was a fun and caring professor. He makes the lectures interesting which helps me want to engage in the discussion. Glo-Bus was hard to understand at first but you'll become comfortable using it over time. Overall, I would suggest taking Professor Patel!
I would highly suggest taking Dr. Patel! He engages with the class which keeps you on your toes. His assignments aren't hard and you have plenty of time to complete your Glo-Bus projects and presentations. If you attend class and show an interest, you won't have any problem getting an A!
In my experience he was very caring, funny, and willing to meet you halfway if you needed it. If you missed an assignment and went to talk to him about it he was very understanding and would open it up. Only problem was the simulation that we barely received guidance on. And oftentimes he makes jokes or jabs at students expense but not maliciously.
If you want a professor that actually cares about its students and mot just grades you have him. This professor is not typical, because he brings real life examples and applications of the topics in his courses. He goes above and beyond to make sure his students succeed.Participation ways heavy, so make sure you can be available for his class.
Be prepared to be called on during class. Just attend lectures and pay attention and you will do fine. Most work is done in teams.
Dr. Patel cares about his students and really wants us to learn. Some things about his class are off putting. Be prepared to be called on in class and for some unwarranted remarks. Overall, put on thick skin if you want to take this class. He does not put in very many grades but if you show up, you should be able to get an A.
Attendance is mandatory. Be prepared to be called during lectures. If you enroll in online class, you are required to turn your camera on.
Be prepared to be called during lecture. Students are required to turn camera on during class.
Nice guy. Be ready for the class itself to be a little all over the place but an easy A. Would recommend.
Overall good professor. Show up to class, and you'll learn a lot. Be prepared for unwarranted jokes or comments. A LOT of group work, so make sure you communicate with your group on assignments. Take the time to learn how to use the simulation, as little direction is given.
Overall this class was good. He is very kind and leads thoughtful discussions that make you think. Most of the coursework is a little unorganized but it isn't very difficult.
Prof. Patel teaching style is quite freeing. He uses this course to prepare us for real-world management scenerios and it was done extremely well.
Prof. Patel teaching style is amazing for this course. Rather than the traditional method of teaching, he implements a heavy amount of group work as this course is meant to simulate real world management roles.
Professor Patel is engaging and knowledgeable, connecting theory with real-world examples. The course includes insightful discussions but has a heavy workload, with challenging exams and group projects. If you're prepared to work hard, it's a rewarding class. Overall, a solid instructor for Strategic Management.
Professor Patel overall is a good professor. However, his lectures do not match the homework/projects. He assumes you know what to do and has a little bit of an attitude when you ask him questions. He will cut you off when you present, so be prepared for that. He also will randomly call on people during his lectures.
Professor Patel overall is a good professor. He does have a little bit of an attitude when you ask him questions if you don't understand something. He will cut you off when you are presenting, like multiple times but he is a fair grader. He does explain things well overall but Ceism can be a challenge if you don't have a good team.
He was easy and very understanding.
Discussed Elon Musk about as much as any other topic. Very sassy at times, I began to lose my mind when I kept hearing Elon Musk and Tesla references.
Patel was a great instructor who provided valuable insight on how the real world was. I learned a bunch and we used a simulation called Glo-Bus which ended up being a bulk of the grade. He does not take attendance but it is important to attend class for group work and so that you understand assignments. I did not care for grading structure.
Professor Patel is a good instructor but there are some things to be aware of. He is very lecture heavy and online attendance is mandatory with cameras on. Be prepared to be called on. The course is very dependent on having solid communication with your randomly assigned group. He is not a hard grader and it should be an easy A if you do the work.
This professor is very close minded and doesn't like if students question him. I was not a fan of him or of his teaching methods.
- lectures are always pointless, he rambles about nothing - his canvas page is a mess, it is so hard to find anything - he sends out a million announcements - end of semester presentations are ROUGH would not take again
Professor Patel values class participation and discussion. If you participate in class, follow directions, and engage in conversation with him, you will end the class with a decent grade. His course has a group simulation as well as a couple projects with the same group. Overall, he is a very smart professor and is very wise in the business world.
Prof has been amazing, makes the class engaging but you have to show up to get good grades. Open book exams and Group projects so just be wary of deadlines. Overall, A fun experience
Professor Patel is a great teacher. His class consisted mostly of group projects and little to no homework. He usually lectures all class just talking about different things, sometimes up until it was time to go. Don't get offended if he calls you out; it comes from a good place.
Interesting class. His class is mainly just discussion so be ready to discuss real world operations. Globus is kind of difficult but as long as you and your team stay on top of it from the jump you'll be just fine. Attendance is "mandatory" but he doesn't actually take attendance so do with that as you wish. Overall good professor.
Okay professor overall. Lectures can be long and boring, and cameras must be on during zoom. Grades based on Globus Simulation (pay extra for this), presentations, and case analysis ( must pay to access the article). Pay attention to the syllabus because he doesn't give a heads up. When presenting he will interrupt you and skip over your work.
Vijay Patel is very knowledgeable in the course content. He has had a pretty successful career and shared some great knowledge. However, he is very political in class and sometimes goes on rants that can take half of the class, even when the lecture did not call for anything to do with politics. Overall, he's a really nice guy.
I would strongly advise taking another Professor for this required course. Constantly bashed Trump every class and was so close-minded to any other students' opinions. Wokest teacher at the University.
Great Professor. Cares about his students. Would highly recommend
He was good to take my last semester of college. His exams are online and he highly encourages students to use AI to help with assignments.
Super easy class; do the work and you're guaranteed an A. You won't really learn anything tho. All of his lectures are more inane ramblings about whatever is in the news. He's a smart guy who cares about his students, but he cares more about cracking jokes and talking about Trump than actually teaching.
individually, its an Easy Course, however, with projects, if you have a bad group you ll suffer. moreoever, the professor lacks a little bit of organization, the course content in canvas is messy.
The worst professor i've ever had. The course tho is easy, Globus and some group projects. But him as a person a professor is awful. He is racist. Cold calls the only black kid in the class and says "You look like you like hip hop, what do you think?" "You look like you care about social justice" Makes fun of race with harmful stereotypes.
He was chill. Just make sure that you go to class. Tests were easy. A couple projects you have to do but nothing crazy.
Dr. Patel is a great professor. His lectures tend to be lengthy, but they are very informational and engaging. The course has a lot of group work, but he will help you if you reach out. He also likes to call on people randomly in class to keep you engaged. Overall, he's a good professor who's very knowledgeable and wants you to succeed.
Dr Patel is must take for MGMT 3280. He cares about his students and wants you to be engaged in his class. Would definitely recommend taking his class.
Cares more about indoctrinating students and yapping about politics that have nothing to do with lectures. Told everyone to feel open to discussion, but would interupt you and get flustered the second you disagree with him. Cuts you off during presentations. You won't learn anything besides using Globus (group project). Assignments r easy.
Dr. Patel was often late. We didn't learn anything in class besides our classmates names and knowing that tariffs are bad. However, he did grade stuff relatively easy and had at-home online tests. So, if you want a class that is easy to pass, but don't want to learn anything take him. P.S. He will talk over you, he loves to hear his own voice.
Mainly just group work and lecture-heavy. Also, there are online, open-note exams. He can get very political, and you must agree with him or he will crack jokes at you. Also, he says attendance is mandatory, buthe never once took attendance.
The course mainly consists of group work and lectures, but has open-note exams. The instructor can be quite political, and it's important to align with his views; otherwise, he may make jokes at your expense. He claims that attendance is mandatory, he's never taken attendance during the course. Note* he kisses the ground that Elon walks on.
The class was mainly lecture heavy, and almost all work was done in your group which is determined in the beginning. He emphasizes participation a lot, and will call on random people too. Sometimes he can come off strong and pick on you a bit in front of everyone. But tests were online, he was not a tough grader, and it wasn't hard to pass.
This class is heavy on group projects. You get randomly put in a team at the start of the semester and you will be on that team for the rest of the semester. If you get a good team, then you don't need to stress about anything. 2 big papers with 2 presentations, 2 exams, and a couple of small assignments. Overall, I'd take Dr. Patel's class again.
Prof. Patel's class is an easy A, just do the work and you will get an A. Says he takes attendance, but it is not for a grade. You do 2 group projects with people he chooses, which makes or breaks your grade. He likes to talk a lot, would have gave him a better rating if he didn't talk about politics the whole time.
Did not learn a single thing. All he does is rant about Trump and his tariffs. Complete waste of time. If you don't agree with his opinions he will flame you. He is also racist to black and Spanish students. Massive power trip and has a big fragile ego. Worst teacher I've ever had.
Professor Patel has no filter and will tell you how it is. He is good at teaching and cares about his students. Lots of group work, online exams and a lot of feedback.
He was a decent professor. I took his class online once a week and the lectures were VERY long and boring. He would cold call on you so be ready to answer at any time. He is a very tough grader on presentations and will cut you off and insult your performance. Globus wasn't that bad, just hope you get a decent group. Overall not too bad, but tough.
Dr. Patel is not a good professor. His class is very unorganized. I didn't learn a single thing about international business the entire semester. He was funny sometimes, but also could be very rude to students. He is very defensive and can get political during class. He is not very open to listening to students' opinions that differ to his.
Good and entertaining professor but attendance is not mandatory. Didn't really communicate when things were due in class so stay on top of it in canvas and make sure you don't have anything coming up. Two group assignments but he is pretty lenient on grading.
As long as you complete all work and help in group work you will do well
This class was overall a good experience. Attendance is not mandatory for the most part and although he is a bit strict, he gives occasional motivation and encouragement. He is a good professor and seems to be very knowledgeable. I recommend taking him if you're up for the challenge!
Class discussions were rather entertaining though perhaps not the most informative on class topics. Additionally, the rubrics were somewhat confusing and contradictory. Not incredibly difficult so long as you are assigned a decent group.
You will be working in groups for most of the class. There are not many assignments, but the class was fun and relatively easy.
This is a real world class be ready!
This class was very discussion-based; most of the time we just listened to him talk about Elon Musk. You are mainly graded from the Glo-bus simulation, case study presentation, and 2 exams (which are open note), as long as you do the work, you will do just fine. We did have to do a lot of the groupwork outside of class but very easy for a capstone.
Professor Patel is probably one of the worst professors I've had. He doesnt explain assignments before hand, you have to search for them. There were so many assignments that just felt like busy work & I didn't learn anything in the class. I bonded with my classmates due to class discussions and our shared opinion of the professor. Easy class tho
Professor Patel is abysmal. His class is unbearable and has little to do with international business. I hope you enjoy listening to rants about tariffs, Donald trump, and Elon musk. He has a weird obsession with Elon Musk and bases his whole class around him and the Tesla brand. Overall biggest waste of 3 credits UNCC has to offer.
The course was not difficult or challenging, but was unorganized with long lectures centered around politics. He enjoys challenging viewpoints and can come off offensive. Most work is grouped and a simulation with no guidance. However, it is very easy to do well with a good group and best efforts. Be prepared to be lost but still somehow do okay.
Pretty easy class, mostly graded off a simulation and two presentations you'll have to do. Lectures are pretty long winded and somehow always circle back to Elon Musk.
If you don't wanna be called on, then don't take this professor, but he's not too bad. The class is very project and teamwork-heavy.
If you look at all the other reviews of this professor you will see no matter what they have to say about him, they got an A in the course, and honestly if you can put up with some jokes in the class and aren't easily offended, you'll have a great time in this class just like i did and most likely get an A too.
He spends most of the class calling on people, so if you are quiet, this class is not for you. Be ready for long, boring lectures. He does not announce due dates, and Canvas is messy, so you have to stay on top of them. He doesn't put any grades in until the very end, so if you are an organized person, I would not recommend.
Very fun class, the whole class was involved and discussions were valueable.
Dr. Patel is a very caring professor. I had him for International Management and Strategic Management, and he is cool. He is an easy grader, and if you try, you will earn a good grade while also learning to manage a business through online simulations. One thing you should be prepared for is being interrupted while presenting; he does that a lot.
only lectures, does not really relate to what we do. uses glo-bus simulation
Dr. Patel has been one of my favorite professors to take at this university. The way he presents himself, you can see that he has a lot of passion for teaching, and wants to leave the students with something they will remember. If you are willing to attend class every day, join discussions, and participate in groups, then this professor is for you!
Good class
Professor was very unprofessional at times and thinks he is so hilarious (he's not). Genuinely believe he just likes to hear himself talk because he is constantly interrupting students during class discussions. Class lectures were a waste of time because he often goes off on tangents about tariffs and Elon Musk. Don't recommend.
As long as you keep up with assignments and pay attention in class, you will not struggle in this course. Dr. Patel is very good at what he does and ensures that all students understand the material.
Professor Patel is amazing! If you listen to what he says and follow his advice, you'll learn a lot and do really well. He makes the material easy to understand, keeps it engaging, and truly cares about students' success. Participation matters, and the class is light but effective. Would 100% take him again!
It was a good class and grading was easy everyone who is complaining is just ungrateful
Professor Patel was a good professor, I took him over the summer and it was a pretty easy class and I did learn something. It's all group work except the exams but show up and participate and you'll do fine. Study Glo-Bus before you start and you will be even better off. He does not participate in course pack so you will have to spend out of pocket
Professor Patel is very nice, but I wouldn't take this class again unless there are no better options. He is inconsistent with project instructions, made us buy materials we didn't need, and rushes us through presentations while interrupting A LOT, making them take longer. Also, be prepared to spend $50 on this class (not including the textbook).
Stay away if you can. Always asking students to use AI to answer his questions and then acts surprised by the AI response... Likes to pick on people to speak but will interrupt if it's not heading in the direction he wants. Tasks are team orientated and have to be coordinated/completed outside of class time. You'll have to pay for materials.
Dr. Vijay Patel is an excellent professor who explains material clearly and makes complex topics easy to understand. His teaching style is organized and engaging, often using real-world examples to help concepts connect. He encourages questions and discussions, creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment.
I was afraid to take this class when I first started as I did not understand much about Strategic Management. Professor Patel gave great feedback and answered questions when asked. He related what we were learning to the real world to give us a better understanding. We worked with a program called GloBus which enhanced what we learned.
Professor Patel was very friendly and helpful. I did not understand much about strategic management when going into this class and I feel I have a better understanding now. Working with the GloBus program was also extremely helpful.
Patel is a great professor. He will call on you in class so be prepared. He likes to talk and discuss so if you are quiet in class be aware. His tests are not hard at all, most assignments are group projects. You will have to pay out of pocket (not included in niner course pack) for a platform. Overall, I would take him again.
Taking this class with Professor Patel was worthwhile. I'd heard he could be tough on presentations, but he just pushes students to truly understand the material. The course has 2 exams and 2 group projects with reports and presentations. Even with the workload, it's still a fairly easy class and he's a genuinely good professor.
Homeboy has an obsession with Elon Musk; every single class he will mention his admiration of this man. He loves Tesla and is borderline obsessed with Elon and his brand. He interrupts you constantly while presenting because he would rather talk about himself instead.
Professor Patel is a simple cheerful guy who does his best to make his lectures interesting and engaging. You will have to work with a group for the entire semester. You will use Glo-Bus. There are not many assignments but the few that you have are very time consuming and require effort. He does his best to provide useful feedback.
The instructions for assignments are not very clear. It is a fairly easy class, though.
This class is not hard to get an A in as long as participate and get a good grade on your group projects. There is a semester long simulation you have to pay for which is not a part of the course pack, and your group has to get good numbers on that in order to receive an A. He also calls on random people in class, so be prepared for that.
This class involves a simulation you have to pay for outside of the course pack and your group grade for this basically makes up your entire grade. If your group doesn't get good numbers (like half my class), you will get a B on this project. There's only 2 tests and 2 group projects that make up 95% of your grade.
Show up meaningfully and with intent to complete tasks and your experience in the class should be smooth. Communicate with team members well before deadlines and utilize your resources to the best of your ability. Lots of lectures and team assignments. Prepare for presentations.
Professor Vijay Patel's class is straightforward if you show up, communicate with your group, and stay on top of deadlines. Exams are taken outside of class. He's experienced, fun, and while the assignments can feel tedious, they're easy and mostly concentrated into three weeks.
He is a very understanding professor. There are a lot of group assignments and presentations during the course so please be sure to work effectively with your group members.
-Constantly talks about Elon Musk. -Most of your grade is from a semester-long group project -Tells you to use ChatGPT for everything (even tests) -Interrupts you when you're trying to talk or present. -If you want to learn something, he's not that great. -If you want an easy A, he's the one for you.
Dr. Patel is sweet and caring. Yes, the group projects are a lot, but hold each other accountable & assign parts to everyone. 2 in my group focused on the simulation, 2 focused on hw, quizzes, assignment, and I focused on the report and ppt. Use ChatGPT as an assistant! 2 exams, 2 reports, 2 presentations. Match his humor and you'll be fine.
Professor Patel is definitely a caring teacher. He genuinely wants you to learn and succeed. Almost all of the assignments are group projects, and most of your grade comes from just a few major assignments. He really enjoys interacting with students, so be prepared to speak up and participate in class. Note: He never replies to emails 🙂
He says he teaches his class "at an MBA level," but his course is so beyond easy if you just show up and give a minimal amount of effort. He LOVES AI, so much so that he DEMANDS you use it on assignments, and add your input on top of what AI gives you when you put the prompt in. Presentations are super easy, they're more a discussion than anything.
Dr. Patel is an amazing professor; he does an amazing job not only making you think but also challenging your ideas. He uses dry humor and really prioritizes keeping students engaged as well as thinking. Patel really believes his students can do anything they put their mind to, forcing you to think bigger and more strategically.
Weird guy. Professor Patel believes that his opinions and ideas are the absolute truth. The professor isn't hard, but he does make fun of students. If you take him be prepared to either be made fun of or listen to him making fun of others. There was group work and not many assignments are part of your grade. He ended class 3 weeks early.
This is a relatively easy course when taking other upper level classes. If you do your work and follow his rubric you will get a good grade. He teaches like a true professor in a discussion/lecture style, but be prepared to listen to his personal opinions and rants. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would still show face. I recommend!
He isn't bad. During presentations, he will question every little thing that you have said, but he's a decent guy who cares about his students. Will make sure you pass he has mentioned you have to try and fail. Not to many assignments would take him again.
Overall, he's a lighthearted and chill professor. The class was easy, as we were only graded on presentations/reports and exams. The exams were online and open-note. His grading is not quite clear. He also does his best to give everyone grace when it comes to grading, and I don't think anyone has done terribly at all. Would take again.
Dr. Patel is a great professor; he does a lot of lecturing during his classes and is a huge fan of using AI. He only has two tests throughout the semester, and you have a semester-long group, which can be good or bad. He has a few group presentations/papers during the class, but that is about it. I thoroughly enjoyed his class!
Great professor. The course looks a little scary at the beginning but he helps you get where you need to be and teaches you a ton of things at the same time.
You'll have two online exams—a midterm and a final—and both are pretty easy. There are also two semester-long group projects that he assigns at the beginning of the term. He also gives about 15 minutes every class for group work. Attendance is strongly recommended, but your grade won't be affected if you miss class.
Professor Patel is a really nice guy, he wants all his students to do well in class but sometimes his grading scale is unclear and some of his assignments are kinda confusing. Overall he's a fun teacher but he needs to clarify a few things.
Avoid at all costs. Unclear grading criteria, and unhelpful with questions Also, be prepared to pay $40 out of pocket for CESIM simulations as well since he opts out of the niner course pack. The course has limited assignments, but is group project heavy, and he WILL interrupt multiple times when you present.
Genuinely wants you to succeed in your career, but he has a funny way of showing it. Can come off as very demeaning when interacting with students who have an opinion that is not exactly what he was looking for (including politically). Easy class tho. Easy grader, and class got out 3 weeks early (he does that every semester). Scattered canvas page.
Easy A and low workload. He wants students to succeed, but his communication can feel dismissive. He often interrupts and rushes presentations, and some comments come off unprofessional. If you have other options, take them, but the class is manageable if he's your only choice.
Professor Patel was an okay professor. All of the reviews are very true but at the end of the day it's not a hard class and you can come out with at least a B.
Vijay is truly the best. Attendance isn't mandatory. Heavy on simulations and group projects. Simulation is confusing so definitely ask for help if needed. He doesn't want to fail anyone so as long as you put in effort and do the work you will be fine. He seems to love his job and really cares about his students.
Professor Patel does a good job at making a supposed hard course easy. He has great real world experience that he ties into the course and overall he is a funny guy.
Professor Patel's class is lecture based and includes group work. Material is not difficult and tests are online. Class included a few presentations but nothing bad.
He is a caring professor and goes over interesting materials. He can be a bit much sometimes when interruption presentations that are supposed to be 10 mins and making them 30 mins and calling on random people throughout the class to force a conversation. But he cares for his students success and makes you think outside your box.
Professor Patel is incredibly knowledgeable in every area discussed in class and encourages discussion. He also operates some portions of class like a management team in the corporate world as opposed to being a professor just talking at you for an hour. Useful experience from my perspective.
I learnt a lot in this course. Be prepared to discuss in each class and engage in group discussions. The grade was based on group work, presentation, and exams. He cares a lot about the students and their future. The attendance is mandatory. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this class.
Dr. Patel is a very direct person. He will offer harsh feedback, but always in the spirit of improvement. You will be assigned a random semester-long group on day one, which is who you will work on each assignment with. Communicate and work well within your group, attend classes, and you should find an easy A in this class.
This professor is a great person but very difficult to work with. He is not very clear in his grading criteria and talks about his own political beliefs before every class for 30min. His class is easy for the most part but I did not learn much.
Veijay was an excellent professor who used real world experience to teach you. You will receive a random group on the first day and that's your group for the semester. There are 2 presentations and 2 exams and a simulation. The exams are easy and open note, presentations are different for everyone but I thought were easy. Would recommend
Professor Patel was a super-engaging professor. The group projects you work on are pretty easy as long as your group communicates. Two main tests that you definitely need to read the textbook for, but not too hard. The only downside is that he misses some topics, so you have to go through the textbooks and PowerPoint.
Elon Musk!
The class was lecture heavy which can get boring at times but interesting real world examples used to explain the course topics covered. You have the same group assigned to you for the entire semester to work on easy group projects and a simulation. There were two presentations and classes got done early.
It was def a interesting class but i would take it again!! I had a set group as soon as class started from the beginning to end so hope you get good mates! You will have to buy a program not included in the course pack, i fought tooth and nail to get them to include this but it was futile.. Only met once a week for 3 hrs and he used all the time.
The grading criteria can be confusing and the class is very lecture heavy which can get boring. The class is overall not that hard.
The lectures lacked structure, but he makes sure you understand the material. As long as you show up to class and work well in your assigned groups, you will get an A.
Easy professor. Make sure you show up to classes he'll remember you and it will be more beneficial to be on his good side. We had an online simulation which was pretty tricky but as long as you and your group work together you should be fine.
Pretty easy course but definitely an odd environment. He loves Elon Musk and will make his political views very clear. Mainly goes through slideshows & gives personal anecdotes. There are several presentations in which he will rush you through and talk more than the presenters do. He barely talks about the actual assignments in class.
