The best Prof I ever had,extremely helpful. Attendance is mandatory and she is well organized in teaching. Take class from her,you won't regret.

Don't be intimidated by the name, great Prof who knows what she's talking about! Go to all of the classes! She explains everything very well and if you take notes you will do fine! Marks pretty easy as well. Does tons of examples (as opposed to just explaining the mathematical theory which doesn't help me at all).

Easiest class ever. She acts like all the students are handicapped, which you can use to your advantage. For an example, she told us that we are all bad at drawing graphs so it wasn't going to be on the final. She also takes all her questions for the midterm right from her notes, same numbers and everything.

She worked hard to make us successful in the course. She taught extremely well. Clearly explains each and every concept.Very helpful outside the class.If you attend all the classes and take notes properly, you can get above 80 easily.

totally. i am very bad at math and i had no interest in it but it was mandatory so i had to take it. i was surprised at how easy the class was. she explains very well and does tons of examples. she is very good. i would take anther class from her. got an 82 despite not doing 2 of the assignments. she is AWESOME!!!

She's a great prof. She goes through each step and makes sure that everyone understands the topic at hand. I am really bad when in comes to anything related to numbers but she made the class so easy and fun. I would strongly recommend anyone to take her STAT class.

Professor Agasthian is more than willing to help students to the point that the time needed to cover everything in the course is jeopardized--too much "hand-holding" if you will. However, do not let her name fool you though as she speaks decent English. Overall, her assignments and exams are straightforward so long as you know the material.

What a great professor. She's such a sweetheart, and works harder than any professor I've ever had. She pours her heart into teaching her students and really wants them to master the material.

I really enjoyed Vijay. She was an excellent teacher all the way around. She explained the material and then went straight to tons of examples. She clearly outlined what you should know for the tests. The textbook wasn't very useful as the class notes had everything you need to know for tests and homework. I would recommend.

This proof was really amazming prof. as long as you attending the class and doing the practise assignment . you will do great.

She is one of the very few returning lecturers at the UofR who structures her lectures so perfectly the textbook is mostly not needed. She is brilliant if you confront her with theoretical questions but most of the work she brings to lectures is computational and easily followed.

Vijaya is the best prof I had so far. No textbook since the handouts were provided. Quizzes and Midterms were easy and you can make ur own cheat sheet. Just practice all the practice problems that she posts and you'll do great in this class. Definitely, would love to take another class from her. This class is an easy GPA booster.

Super sweet and helpful. She genuinely cares about students and she loves teaching. To understand material, either attend class or do assignments; both were not necessary for me to do well. Cheat sheets allowed into midterms and finals. Used Webassign for assignments, which cost an extra $50 but still liked it. Easy to do good with this prof.

Vijay is a real gem. The best prof at the university by far. I had the pleasure of taking differential equations with her and was overjoyed to take her again for stats. She gives clear criteria of what you need to learn in order to do well in her class and goes through plenty of examples slowly so you're never lost. If you have a chance take her.

Vijaya is one of the best profs I have ever had. Her lectures are very clear, she values her students' input and she tries very hard to help us understand the material. While it's not really necessary to attend her lectures to pass, you should absolutely go anyway since she goes through the material in a way that's easy to understand.

Coming from someone who hates Math, she made an 8:30 AM class bearable. Would take all my Math classes from her in the future if possible. This is probably one of the best profs the U of R has, she is very caring, nice and super helpful. She was such a good prof that I, being terrible at math, got a 98% in the class based off how in depth and knowlegable she is in the subject material. You will not regret taking her as a prof, I would 100 times over recommend her.

She made it easy to do lots of additional problems without a textbook, just one of the reasons I see her as easily one of the most caring profs ever.

Super good at explaining math, she really wants the class to know what they are doing. The first part of the course was super easy, but the rest was a little more difficult. She doesn't take attendance but if you go to class you are gunna get a high mark. Lots of quizzes and tests, but its actually good for learning. Plus you get cheatsheets.

Vijaya actually taught Math 101. I was terrified of taking math after decades away from school of any kind, but Vijaya made math easy to understand, and dare I say, fun. She goes over things repeatedly, and makes sure everyone understands before she moves on. She wants her students to succeed. If you're afraid of math, this is the prof for you.

One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Will introduce theory behind the math, but will focus on examples. I didn't have to study that much because the majority of the time spent in class was her going through examples. Also, she says what important questions will be on tests. I would 100% recommend her.

This is my second time taking her. She does a very good job at explaining things and helping her students. The quizzes and midterms were pretty easy but she put some trick questions on the final that we haven't seen before so the final was considerably harder. She also covered the last chapter quickly so try not to procrastinate.

This woman is a saint to the mathematics department! She truly teaches you concepts and does her absolute best to help you succeed. Her examples set you up for the practice questions and than the questions are almost identical for the midterm, quizzes, and final. Gives specific outlines. If you can take a math class with her... DO IT!!

She knows her material very well... beneficial to show up to lectures. Graded on 5 quizzes but takes best 4 of 5, one midterm, and final. Posts lots of practice questions on each section which help if you complete them before every quiz, midterm, and final.

Vijaya is a real gem in the math department. Her lectures are clear and she she outlines exactly what you need to do in order to do really well on the quizzes, midterms, and final. Her actual quizzes are almost always exactly the same as the practice quizzes she posts online. Quizzes and midterms are handed back within 2 or 3 classes.

I have been taking consistently 3 classes from her. she has great knowledge in any type of math or stat with its proof , that makes her different from others. The deep knowledge never interfere and make lecture bore but it enhance one to study with proof. she is perfect grader as she explains much one need to achieve upto that. overall she is best.

Her lectures were super helpful and gave all the information needed to complete the midterms. The midterms were worth a lot, but if you did the practice problems and had a decent grasp on all the concepts they were not too bad. The assignments were easy and did not take much time or effort.

Prof. Agasthain is an amazing STAT100 professor! She goes through material quickly but posts everything online relatively quickly so you have easy access to it. The course material is not hard and she explains it well. She cares about her students and will go over information. All of her assignments are based off in-class examples which is AMAZING!

Im a student with a math learning disability, so I was really nervous to take this course. But Professor Agasthian actually breaks everything down and shows you exactly how you need to do it, and is happy to repeat an explanation in a different way so you get it. This is the first time I have actually enjoyed math! Highly recommend.

I would not recommend this prof if you need to take future stats classes. She uses very easy examples/questions that do not prepare you for future classes. My grade dropped 30%+ from stat 160 to stat 251. If you only need to take ONE stats class take it with her because it will your boost average, otherwise, you are setting yourself up for failure

In my opinion, best prof at the U of R. You can tell she cares about her students, and will gladly do everything in her power to help you understand any material you dont understand. Exams are on the easier side, especially if you put in a little time and do the practice problems. 100% take stats with her if possible.

Great Prof. 2 mindterms, 25% each, final is 50%, if you do better on one midterm than the other, she will change the weight scheme and choose ur highest midterm as 50% and final as 50%, lots of examples and free textbook. Posts notes and examples after class. Overall, best math prof.

Probably the easiest class I ever had. If you know integrals and derivatives it should be straight forward. Her classes are basically her solving problems, she explains all the steps. I wish this class was more about understanding tho. Just practice half an hour or one hour everyday and you will be fine.

I just want to be honest i am not a math person at all i took stats 100 last year with a different prof i failed with a 34, i decided to switch profs and omg i have an 85. shes amazing she explains everything multiple times and drills things into your brain. You are allowed cheat sheets for every test so take time and put in effort to make them.

5 Quizzes, takes your best 4 and scraps worst grade. Quiz- 30% Midterm- 20% and Final- 50%, if you do better on final she scraps midterm and replaces weightage with final so then Quiz 30% and Final 70%. Also lets you have ONE sided reference sheet per quiz and double sided sheet for midterm and Final, just not allowed to write examples. Amazing.

She was the best prof I've ever had. Her explanations were extremely detailed and clear and you can tell she cares about her students. I was worried because I am not a math person but getting 100s on the quizzes was quite easy because of the way she teaches. Highly recommend taking her class if you have the opportunity.
