Very understanding and an overall great Lab professor! Gives a lot of extra credit at the end of the semester

Dr. Baliga is a very nice and accessible professor. If you show up to class, you will know what material is required to get a good grade in the course. He is a great professor, and cares about the material. You could take much worse professors.

Dr. Baliga is one of the best professors Ive had so far. His lectures are interesting and he understands how hard it is to be a college student. The lecture is graded by 4 tests and 4 quizzes, but he offers extra credit. The lab counts as 40% so its fairly easy to get a high grade in the class

If you're taking this class for an easy A where you don't try like many of our high school horticulture class, you wont find it to be like that. However if you do choose to take it I would certainly advice taking Vikram Baliga. He is incredibly relatable and gives everyone in the class a fair chance to earn an A. Had a great semester with him.

Vikram was a fabulous teacher and his lectures were always really good. You need to study for the exams a good amount and you'll pass. Just pay attention and you'll be good to go, he'll work with you!

Vikram is a fantastic professor, he relates to you and understands what you are going through. I highly recommend taking one of his classes. There is quite a bit of material but he makes it easy and make sense.

A very kind and entertaining professor. I actually enjoyed going to his class and his personality is what really keeps you engaged. He is kind, funny, and very clear when explaining. The content can get complex, but if you take notes from his PowerPoints and study before tests you will be fine. He is very clear whats on the tests!

Professor Baliga is one of the most passionate professors I have ever taken. While most of my other credits feel like a chore to take, this class will make you want to show up every morning. You will have to put in effort to study and go over notes but the professor is fair in what he assigns and grades. You will get out of the class what you give.

Vikram is a professor that you definitely want for this class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you get a bonus point for everyone you attend. Not a hard class at all he gives easy-to-follow reviews for tests. He is a very nice professor and makes the lectures a lot more bearable and easy to sit through.

One of the best professors I've had at Tech! His lectures are fun and puny (I personally enjoyed all the dad jokes). A lot of extra credit available. The tests are easy as long as you pay attention and do the review he gives out. There's just one "big" assignment towards the end of the semester and even that is fairly easy

Vikram is amazing! Super funny and it makes it really easy to focus. Tests are straightforward just do the reviews and you will be fine! He offers extra credit on the tests, and they are always goofy or something super out there that don't have to do with plants. He is also on tiktok check him out (theplantprof)

He is a very fun professor to have makes the content interesting to learn about. It is memorization heavy with the four main tests in the lecture portion. They are only hard when you don't study since there is a lot of information covered. Overall a fun class but it is a decent amount of work to keep up with.

He's such a fun teacher to take and he makes sure to have good reviews for the exams, it was a fun class!

Dr. Baliga is a cool guy. I've been having serious medical issues all semester and he's been very understanding. I also love that he livestreams lectures and will take attendance via an app so I could still get credit even when bedridden from home. He records lectures so I could watch back to study, and has a really funny Tik-Tok account. 10/10

Best professor I have ever had at Texas Tech! He is so sweet and relatable and cares so much about his students. As long as you do the quizzes before the test and study your notes, you'll do great on the test. The lectures are super enjoyable. I would retake this class just to have Dr. Baliga as my professor again!

I LOVED this class! great lectures + lab. only had to buy a lab manual. I loved the lab assignments. no hw only unit quiz b4 each exam to review (not graded) exams were somewhat tough but I found them easy to study for. best class I've taken; almost made me want to be a PSS major. highly recommend this class and this prof!

LOVE! Not an ag major but I still enjoyed this class! Baliga was one of the best professors that I've had at Tech. He's very funny and interesting. Attendance isn't stressed but I really encourage you to go because he's really cool. Study for the tests!! Second one is the hardest.

Prof Baliga is one of my favorite professors! His lectures are incredibly entertaining. He is funny, and makes his class a class I genuinely enjoy attending. I am not a science girl at all but I loved this class and learned a lot. His test are super easy and the lab is pretty easy too.

Do yourself a favor and pick his class if you are planning to take a class in agriculture. He's a very good professor with simple expectations and yet cares about his class and is willing to help whenever needed. He has a great personality which makes his lectures more engaging. I enjoyed this class a lot.

I only had Baliga for lab, but he was still an amazing teacher. He was very through and made sure everyone knew what was going on. You can tell he cares about his students and is a funny guy. Lots of extra credit opportunities too.

Vikram is a an absolutely amazing professor. He is super funny and love to make jokes but still manages to teach you everything that you need to know for this course. The exams are super easy and you have multiple days to take them plus plenty of time once you start them. 10/10 would definitely take again.

Lectures are posted online if you miss a class, and his attendance was extra credit. Only has 4 quizzes and tests. The labs are a partial part of your grade. He also meant it when he said that his class would not be the reason that you fail. Also gives extra credit within the exam questions. Is very funny and will work with you if you need anything

He is awesome! He does slide presentations but takes time on tests to check in with you and really cares about you. Definitly would take again!

Professor Bailga cares about his students. Attendance is not mandatory, but he gives you extra credit for attending. You do need to study for the exams, however they are open note. Quizzes before the exams help a lot and you can retake them as many times as you want to get a 100. Would recommend this professor to anyone!

I am a freshman and he has been the best professor out of all of mine I have had so far. He is very understanding and kind, this motivated me to keep going in college when I was faced with challenges from other classes! I recommend this class !

Professor Baliga has a fun enviorment in his lecture. He is understanding when it comes to due dates and knows that life happens. He grades off of the 4 exams and attendance is required. Highly recommend.

This professor is very caring and really cares about his students. His lecture is very boring, but he makes it fun. However, part of this class is the lab so most of the work falls on the lab, so make sure to have a good lab instructor. The lecture has 4 exams and an assignment, but he gives ton of extra credit. One of the best professors you can get. The topic is pretty boring, but he has a way of making it interesting, engaging, and fun. The lab is the hardest part, so make sure you don't get a bad TA like I did. Attendance is required.

Dr. Vikram Baliga is an amazing professor and makes lectures fun and entertaining. (He dressed up as a cactus for our Halloween lecture!) He always takes his time to describe the lecture material and is always there to help you with confusing concepts. The class is a lecture heavy! If you attend class you should be able to receive a good grade.

I took this class to satisfy my science credit. It was a great class; I recommend it as an easy science class. The lab involved planting plants one day a week, and you even got to take them home. Attendance is not mandatory but is part of your grade.

Great professor very passionate about his teachings.

Although this was outside my major, I needed It for my credit, and all of my upperclassmen friends encouraged me to take him. On the first day of lecture, he spit a very inspirational lesson. He gives tons of extra credit that is non horticulture related. He genuinely cares about his students mental and wants everyone to pass.

He is awesome he loves to make class fun and cares about your education. He's not here to screw you over if you happen to miss something he is always willing to help you out.

Dr. Baliga was a great professor, and I would love to take this class again. I took it for an easy science, but I ended up learning so much. He is kind and engaging, and I would recommend this course to anyone. There's a clear grading policy and the exams and quizzes are open-note. It's easy to be successful in this class.

This was my favorite class at TTU! Professor Vikram is an excellent professor; you can tell he genuinely loves to teach and cares about his students. The lectures are mandatory but are super entertaining and enjoyable. We had four online tests and quizzes throughout the semester that were simple if you attended lectures and studied the review.

Vikram is genuinely the best professor I have had. He cares about not only horticulture, but also his students. He is very understanding and helpful. The class isn't hard either, even if you do the HE+ course. However, the lab can be challenging but it does not factor into Vikram as a teacher.

Such a caring and amazing professor. His lectures were very enjoyable because he was so passionate about what he was teaching. Very fun class and he tells a lot of funny jokes.
