I've been out of school for over 12 years. That being said, it was a little difficult to remember how to do some of this stuff but, I couldn't have asked for a better professor to get me back in the swing of things. He actually cares if you pass his class, but isn't going to hold your hand to get you through either. Show up and pass. Easy!
Vince is the best ! He is always willing to help students and understands students from their point of view.
He is a great teacher, however, the course is pretty challenging so do not think it will be any walk in the park. Put in the effort and you will do great.
Best Professor I've ever had. Hilarious and yet serious at the same time.
He is the best person you can ever meet. He is the kind of teacher that is always willing to help and make your education worth it.
Best teacher I have ever had, and also he is super funny. You will never know what he will come up with, and that accent tho #Gold
He's one of the best professors I've had at GCU! He taught my physics 111 lecture. He makes physics easy to understand and makes it relevant. If you need to reach him at his office hours he's always there and will make time if his office hours don't work for you. He's very easy to talk to and friendly. I suggest him 100%
Vince is a good guy and a great instructor BUT he will NOT lecture at all. If you are taking ESG-360 with him make sure you get a tutor if you want anything more than a C. I took his class in the summer and while it is ridiculously easy to pass it is very hard to do well. Vince is Great but ESG-360 isnt.
First day of class you might think he's a very strange person. "A mullet...? In 2018...? what...?" but once you get to know him he's a very caring professor, willing to go over any questions. His "lectures" are just doing the homework in class, so if you pay attention and do it along with him, the quizzes and exams will be relatively easy.
The class was relatively easy. You will pass the class as long as you show up and turn in your assignments on time. Another great thing about, Vince, is that he replies to emails really quickly.
The class is not hard you dont really need to come just make sure you do your work and score well on the tests.
He's absolutely hilarious and really cares about helping students out as long as you show up to class and do the coursework. All the lessons, assignments, and exam are pretty much on an online program. So, it was an easy course.
I believe he's a good professor. Although most of his stuffs I already learned in high school, he's still great. He has some funny stories everyday. Homework and quizes are based on class lecture, pretty easy to follow. He only take participation on Friday, but come on Wednesday to know the question he will ask. He's really nice to ask any question
Great teacher. Realistic about learning objectives/expectations. He likes to make examples/problems in class very lengthy, but participation/test problems tend to be a fair bit easier. Very up-front about what you can expect in the future. Reasonably expects students to know their proper arithmetic and calculus without babying them too much.
So many homework questions and worth so little points. The quizzes can be hard if you don't understand the concept and Frazier does not teach the concepts well. Screw the usual rules of participation! With Frazier, the only day that matters is Friday when he gives you one math question and you only get particiation points if you get it right.
Great professor, who is very knowledgeable and will tell you things like they are. He is very upfront about the whole engineering thing and what you should know in the real world. He also cares very much about his students and is always accessible.
He gives a particpation questions each friday and grades them on whether you get the question correct, so you could go to class everyday and not get the credit. He also gives minimal explanations for the major assignments that are worth the majority of the grade for the class.
Fraizer assigns about 40-60 homework questions a week, but they are only worth 10 points. Major assignments are worth most of your grade, but the professor didn't even explain how to do them. Also, participation was taken at the end of a week with a quiz, so if you fail the quiz you get a zero for participation, even if you went to class all week.
Vince is a very great teacher. He explains all of the homework during class so you have to take your own notes at home. If you don't understand something he will explain it until you understand it.
Doesn't do the standard sign sheet method of participation. At the end of the last class of the week he'll put a problem up on the board and if you get it right, you earn full participation points. If you don't, you don't earn any. The MathLab program used for hw is frustrating. But I highly suggest going through the hw as you take the quizzes.
Professor Frazier is great. For all the MAT144 comments on him seem pretty harsh. Honestly for the major assignments, he gives a majority of the formulas and makes it 10x easier for the students. For HW we only get like 25 - 30 questions now which makes it easier. He even goes through HW in class which makes the work load lighter.
Vince is a great teacher and is very thorough when teaching math topics. As long as you are in class and ask questions you will understand the topics. He makes everything clear and goes over each question and lets the students answer before he explains how to do the problem. At the beginning of each topic he goes over the key information.
Very sweet and cares that you pass the class
He's very helpful we get about 25-40 questions of homework every other week and he goes through all the homework questions and helps answer them. For the major assignments he doesn't explain much for the first 2 only the 3rd one. If I had to take this class again I'd definitely take it with him.
With transitioning to online mid semester, Prof. Frazier was very considerate of student's situations and very helpful throughout the rest of the semester. He cares about his students success and tries to help as much as he can :)
Frazier is an amazing and funny person, but sometimes lacked certain teaching aspects. Math is my strong suit so I had few problems and did well in the class, but people who math does not come naturally may need extra help or be a little lost. He is insanely knowledgeable at math and in life. He goes over every homework problem and project.
Frazier is a pretty average professor. He does a good enough job teaching the material so that you can pass. However, he really just shows you what to do rather than teaches. Participation is by a 1 question quiz on Fridays if you get it wrong, you lose the whole week. He tries to make a boring class more enjoyable by telling usually funny jokes.
This prof is super funny and cracks jokes throughout class. He gave us his number, and he usually responds quickly. We have not had a test which is nice. I'm taking this COVID style and he does not require you to go to class. He does not take attendance, but I recommend you go for the lesson. He does some of your HW questions in class. Chill class
I switched into his class and he gave half the homework that my last teacher gave.
Professor Frazier is a good teacher and I enjoyed this course. Overall, the class was pretty easy and relaxed. Professor Frazier cracks jokes and tells stories to keep the class engaging. The only thing I noticed was that he doesn't answer questions very clearly, so you will have to let him know if you don't understand his explanation.
I would recommend Professor Frazier because he made the homework and tests really easy. The major assignments were a little difficult, so I would have liked more explanation on it. However, where Professor Frazier lacked in explaining things, he made up for with his humor. He was a very kind professor and did his best to help us students relax.
Professor Frazier definitely has a passion for math. However, I felt that he was too specific in aspects of his class. I received a zero on an 2,000 word essay for turning it in as the wrong file type. He also seemed like he was bored of teaching during the lectures and mentioned how many sessions he had to teach often.
If you are naturally gifted at math you will excel, if not, you will struggle. Vince is extremely intelligent but doesn't really explain the material well. He would lose focus during lectures. The math software was more helpful than him. He didn't even tell us that tutorials for the major assignments were up on Youtube. I found out on my own.
Professor Frazier is a funny and very qualified professor. MAT144 was an easy class for the most part. I thought some of the assignments were graded a little too hard given the fact that its supposed to be an easy freshman math class, but professor was laid back and overall a good professor to take a class with.
Vince is a really cool guy, he is super laid back and the homework is pretty easy. The things that are hard are the major assignments but every math has to do those. He is a very chill dude that tries hard to relate the math to real life. Also class time is like 45 minutes usually which is super nice.
I had no problems with professor Frazier until one exam where he did not notify our class about having one. Not one student in my class was aware of the exam and he gave us no sympathy. I received a 37% on it which dropped my grade drastically, and there was no way to make it up. Before this, he was a fine professor, but be ready to teach yourself.
This class with this professor was pretty simple. As long as you do your assignments and submit it on time then you will be pretty good to get a good grade in this class!
He was okay, i didnt really like him. I felt like he was kinda snarky and passive aggressive. He made me scared or embarrassed to ask a question in class and made going to class very unappealing.
He seems like he doesnt like his job. He more so just shows you how instead of the why, has no sympathy for his students at all, he made me very uncomfortable to ask questions because i felt like i was gonna get patronized or embarrassed for asking a question. ALEKS taught me more than he did.
I'm giving him the worst rating possible because he has been the least help for me who was on IEP in HS. He uses many life examples but when it comes to helping others understand, I would rather talk to reindeer to help me understand a binomial. I would rather live as an untouchable in India than take his math class ever again.
I had Prof. Frazier during blended learning. Attendance was not mandatory since you do assignments every week to get participation points. We worked on homework during class and he was super funny! Totally would take it again if I had him as a professor.
Overall, he was a good teacher that wanted to connect with students. Most of the class time we did the homework assignments and ask questions about the major assignment. Only 3 major assignments, there not too hard yet a little confusing. Yet the assignments are very helpful when creating a budget. A quiz every week (best score grade) and a final.
This class in general wasn't hard, it was math you learned in high school pretty much but the major assignments are very time consuming. Get ready to use excel and follow instructions and you will get an A. Do all of the major assignments and homework. The ALEKS platform sucks but you got it.
I definitely recommend Vince Frazier for this class. He uses all of his class time to explain homework questions and help students understand the content, and that made this class much easier. However, he teaches primarily through examples, so if that's not how you learn, then I recommend someone else.
Worst professor I've ever had, by far. Doesn't teach at all, all he did during class was do the assignments that we were supposed to do. Switched the participation assignments halfway through the semester to make us write 500 word responses to political articles that had nothing to do with math. If I saw him outside the walls of GCU I'd spit on him
Professor Frazier is awesome!! He has such a good sense of humor and makes everyone feel welcome. He is a good teacher, sometimes he goes fast but you can let him know and he will slow down. Only 1 assignment every two weeks and quizzes are very short.
Frazier was great and funny. Attendance was graded by a question every Thursday about what you did Tuesday. I usually skipped Tuesday classes and still got the participation question correct. Homework was done in class together so I barely had any work due besides the 3 major assignments on excel. Those were a bit difficult but he goes over it all.
terrible. he's nice but gives zero empathy. Thursdays, we have to do a question for participation but if were a decimal off we get 0 for the whole week! classes are boring, he does the problems in front of you but doesn't show you how to do them. you end up having to teach yourself. the whole semester I was at ace learning what he didn't teach us.
Mr. Frazier is kind and always makes sure his students are keeping up with lectures. He gives ample time to complete assignments and goes through homework questions during class to help everyone succeed. Quizzes are frequent but not unreasonable. This class was informative and not too stressful or overwhelming. Responds quickly to emails/messages.
He does the homework and other things with us but he talks really fast, and even got frustrated when we couldn't keep up. He remained kind about it and didn't get mean. Do the homework over and over until you get bored of it if you want to pass the test. Participation is a hit or miss and he doesn't explain in much detail.
I love this man.
From a student who has always struggled with math, Professor Frazier actually made the subject interesting for the first time in my life.
Professor Frazier helped by doing all of the homework in class, but didn't explain them as well as I wish he would've. His participation questions aren't always easy and he doesn't give feedback.
I really enjoyed having Professor Frazier for this class, even though the material was pretty easy. He's super helpful and genuinely cares about his students doing well! He goes over every assignment in class and works through each problem, so if you just show up, pay attention, and ask questions, the homework and tests aren't too bad. :)
Dr. Frazier is truly a great professor! He is so caring, and he makes the subject interesting. I have always struggled with math, but Dr. Frazier made sure every student understood what was going on, and if you didn't, you could ask him after class. He has no problem explaining it to you, and he wasn't mean or impatient, which was refreshing!!
Worst math class I've taken. Vince is very strict when it comes to missing class even covid related, he makes you go through SDS which can take weeks. I scored very high on almost every exam and quiz, but it did not reflect on my grades due to the excel assignments. Participation isn't fair, you can get a zero even if you show up. Don't take.
Professor Frazier is a great teacher who knows exactly what he's talking about. Although he is strict on attending class and participation, he prepares his students very well for every quiz and test. Also, he goes over all of the Excel projects in class and I rarely found myself asking further questions. Highly recommend!
I loved having him a professor. He does the homework in class with you and does a lot of the major assignments with you. He was super funny and kept the class intrigued. He also always responded super fast which was nice.
I had to drop the class because I was out with COVID the second week and he wouldn't let me make up the 35 point test. The next month I was in the ER and I got a 0 for another 35 point test. He would do the homework in class but wouldn't explain how he got the answer or how to solve it. He would just go as fast as he could just to get through it.
I was out with an illness and was provided with a signed doctors note from the health clinic, which he then went on to accuse me of forging. He will not let me make up the missed quizzes due to my "fake note", and instead I am failing the class because the quizzes make up most of your grade. DO. NOT. TAKE. A. CLASS. WITH. HIM.
This class is basically taught through ALEKS. Every class period was spent going over the hw (on ALEKS) with the exception for a couple classes that contained lectures. He moves quickly which makes it hard to keep up if you don't understand a problem. The major assignments are pretty easy, he basically did them for us in class.
Professor Frazier was a solid professor for 144. Although the class is homework heavy, he walks through the problems in class so you're not doing a ton on your own. He is very charismatic with his students and applies his lessons to real-life situations. He also takes participation every Friday, so make sure to show up for class.
I would not recommend taking this profesor. He expects students to learn by repetition, memorization and his own way. Its hard to understand what is going on and even if you ask questions his explanations dont make sense. He also makes us do problems for participation and if you get them wrong he takes points away. Do NOT take!
Would highly recommend to everyone not select Vince Frazier as your Math 144 professor. He is the most picky and tough grader and will mark you off for every little mistake. Participation isn't counted for showing up its only counted if you get the questions right so if you get them wrong you get marked as absent for the whole week. DO NOT TAKE
Professor Frazier cares about his students and tells you exactly how to do the major assignments. The class is very quiz heavy, but if you do the homework a couple times, it should be no problem. Time is given in class and homework rarely comes home. This math class is mostly review, so just remember to brush up and beware of small mistakes!
Vince Frazier is a very knowledgeable math teacher. He would go through the homework in class so you can work on practice examples while you're there as well as get the homework done in class. He isn't too hard to understand except for a few times when he goes a little fast. He is very accessible and usually answers texts within 10-15 min.
I would say that compared to the other professors that I have heard about, he does help with going through the homework and major assignments. That is appreciated. Other than that he is pretty tough and makes us do problems for participation.
This professor does a great job in teaching the content to his students. Normally about half the class doesn't show up and he knows that the people that do show up will pass the class and he was overall a great math professor to have.
You just have to put in the time into the class and you will do good.
Was okay, just super fast paced
Vince is an amazing professor. Although the class can be hard at times, he is super helpful usually and wants you to do well. His lectures are useful and actually help with the homework so it benefits you to go to class. He also gives some answers to major assignments which is so helpful. Definitely recommend for MAT-144.
Professor Frazier was a fine teacher, he made sure that we knew the content before moving on with the lecture. He mainly just worked through the homework problems in class, which helped you get the assignment done. He requires 4 hours per week on homework for participation, which was always unnecessary, but the content was pretty easy.
Professor Vince was a great professor and I would definitely take his class again. He goes through the homework thoroughly and makes sure you understand before moving on. Although the four hour of participation each week seems drastic but if you do the homework 4 to 5 times before each test then you will get around a 90 percent!!!
Professor Frazier was a great professor overall. He is super helpful and wants you to get a good grade in his class. Let's be real, the only reason some people are rating him poorly is because you did not put the time into studying the material and therefor got a bad grade in his class.
I loved having Vince for pre-calc. He's entertaining, funny, and overall a cool guy. He wants everyone to get good scores, so before each exam he literally goes over a similar question for each one that will be on that exam. If you miss class the day he does participation, you miss the full 10 points for the week so make sure you go to each class!
I enjoyed having Vince Frazier as my MAT-144 professor this past semester. He was down to earth and tried to make a boring subject be fun. He always did the major assignments with us in class and went over homework problems to prepare us for the topic quizzes. One thing I did not like was that the class was so large. (which wasn't his fault)
Professor Frazier made the class so enjoyable every day. He is a great teacher who goes over all the criteria in class. This class is very easy to pass as long as you do the work. I would describe Professor Frazier as a chill, great guy. He is also very funny and makes a lot of dad jokes.
This professor is one of the worse professors I have ever had. He does not teach at all. He expects every student to know what the content is and just goes over the problems without teaching how to actually do it. If you ask a question he will make you feel stupid for asking a question. I would avoid this professor at all cost because he is rude.
actually had him for **MAT-151** (was not listed). He is so funny and fun to listen to. However, I think it was his first time teaching this course, and kinda missed the point. The point is to teach us how to teach math, but he basically just taught the topics (which are sometimes harder than others). Kind of random content - but not his fault.
Does not care about individual students whatsoever, and only cares about attending the class to say he was there.
MAT151 with him was very hard. He does not teach. He goes through the homework but he doesnt explain anything. Hes funny, but very out of touch to teach ELM. He has said many times that he has never taught in ELM and doesnt even know what those students learn. WHICH IS WHAT HE SHOULD BE TEACHING US. Hes a good guy, but not for this class. Good luck
If you want an easy to pass class and are okay with learning most of the math on your own if you do not understand the way he is teaching it during class you will be fine. During class time he goes over the math questions. Class was not necessary in order to pass.
He is very strict when it comes to participation, due dates, etc. but goes through everything in class. A decent amount of homework and had to have 4 hrs logged doing it... but he does it all in class together. Tests are the same as the homework so as long as you do the homework multiple times you're pretty set for the test.
Prof. Frazier is an extremely intelligent man...however, if you are taking him for an education math class like 151 I would recommend switching. He does not teach you HOW to TEACH the content. That makes it more difficult.
He is a great professor! Funny in his own way and doesn't really care what other people think. The class is super easy, he basically does all the homework and major assignments for you. He does part of participation as a end of class question, but it's only on one of the days.
While the class itself wasn't too difficult. He is absolutely non-accommodating to students with SDS accommodations. He is very old school and unwilling to work with you when something is wrong. I respect him as a teacher but not how he treated me personally in many 1 on 1 conversations throughout the semester.
He was not understanding at all for missing class even if you had an SDS-approved note. He does not do anything but go over the homework in class and attendance is mandatory. Major math assignments he did not go over until the last day of class before it was due. No extra credit/redos and he does not explain formulas. I learned more through ALEKS.
Mr. Frazier wasn't accommodating to students at all. He doesn't work with students, allow any missed class, and is basically only there to get paid. He doesn't really help with assignments, and doesn't allow any half participation points. I wasn't there when he did participation for the week, but there for the next class and I got a 0.
I think that Professor is probably a great professor, just not for Elementary Math II. He is far too educated to be teaching a class like this. We spent 3 classes watching him complete every question on the homework and then the 4th day was a quiz. I did nothing all class because I either knew how to do it already or I was left confused.
Amazingly educated individual who cares for his students. He wants his students to succeed and is very open about his availability. Sent him a picture of a question I was struggling with around 9pm and got a voice message within 5 minutes on how to work the problem. One of the best math teachers I've ever had, will be going to all of his classes.
One of the worst math professors. All he did was go over homework all class. I know that sounds good, but when his homework problems are completely different then the ones we had in class its useless. Graded really harsh on projects. He also said he would give extra points for doing an extra assignment, but never ended up giving us the points
Vince was funny and just kind of a weird guy. Wasn't great at teaching concepts but he did go over homework and major assignments in class, which made it easy. Tests are just like the homework.
I would have had a B in his class but he would not explain to me what I was doing wrong, I reached out to him multiple times, and never responded to me after he had told me that I turned in the wrong file and needed to re-turn it in. I did not feel like he cared about his students success in a pre-rec classroom.
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. I didn't know it was possible, but he made such a high-level math class feel so simple and easy! Vince gave us his number and said that we can always ask him questions and throughout the semester I asked him hundreds of questions that he was always willing to answer and was so supportive!
His math homework and lecture were different. I was doing homework on subjects that we hadn't even covered yet in class. Prepare to go to the math center and be able to teach yourself. If he has you using Pearson software then expect a lot of hw. Didn't understand math other than watching him solve problems on the board. good luck
This professor is very funny and his lectures are good and clear. I spent 4 hours on homework each week which was not bad compared to my other classes. I would recommend him to anyone needing to take this class. When we have major assignments there are videos provided that go through every single thing you need to know on it.
Great at teaching! Breaks down the homework questions in class.
goes over topic homework and helps with excel worksheets.
If you are a visual learner def take this class. He goes over the exact homework questions as well as the review for the test. If you pay attention it is very easy. Def recommend him.
Vince is extremely good at teaching the material and will do the similar problems over and over again until you understand it. His review guides for exams are identical except different numbers. For the excel work PLEASE watch posted videos, it goes right through it step by step.
I very rarely rate professors poorly, but Frazier made class much more difficult than necessary. It feels like he dislikes students. He changed due dates to earlier dates without announcing it and put 0s in. He grades participation for the week based on attendance on the day where the least people showed up, and lectures on unrelated topics.
What I love about Prof. Frazier is that he goes over assignments in class. If you take really good notes (*hint, hint*), you can use them on the homework (just not the tests). The final is worth 15% of your grade, and on assignments, he has this "foolproof" way to detect "cheating", which honestly never works and just docks you points regardless.
I loved vince He was a great professor he goes over an everything you need for assignments and tests. If you just take good notes you will do just fine in his class. He if very caring and also hilarious which makes the class more enjoyable. He is a very knowledgeable man!
Prof. really understands what he teaches- much of which was great information for young college students to know. He clearly defined expectations for assignments and basically showed the class how to do them.
Vince was very kind and understanding. When family conflicts came up late during the semester he worked with me to make sure I was going to finish strong. We used ALEKS which was a lot of homework but that comes with any professor. Overall, it was the best math class I have probably ever taken.
Vince was a really funny guy whose class was pretty easy as long as you did all your homework. The homework also helped prepare for the tests which there were only 3 of.
Professor Frazier was not a bad professor but if you have and use accommodations frequently I would not recommend him. Taking tests in the SDS center was a huge pain with him because he never would send over the correct things to the sds office and it would cause them to have to do more work to get my tests set up every time.
He is a fantastic teacher, and he is funny too. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
He gives you his phone number and lets you text him for help. He is also very approachable and tells the best stories. The class is tough. He is not.
Great Professor
He is a very kind and caring person that actually cares about the students in his classes, but you get the grade you earn. He has standards that you have to meet to be able to pass. He doesn't just give points freely. Some 144 teachers let you retake exams, but he didn't let us. That forced us to learn the material though, which is good I guess.
Great teacher. Very funny. Don't ever miss class though because if he does participation that day you will miss participation for the whole week.
I took him for this class back in the spring, and I thought that he did a fantastic job. He was definitely better than the other math professors that I have had at GCU. The class was tough, but he was more helpful than most.
He's the best for DE
He is a very good teacher.
Awesome Teacher
The class content was not my thing. Class was enjoyable though.
It's a very hard class, but he makes it as fun as he can.
Professor Frazier was the best professor I have ever had for math.
This professor doesn't work well with students that has accommodations, and when an assignment was submitted on November 3 accident, he didn't let me resubmit it and reached back out to me a week later, even though I have accommodations till November 17th. He is now the reason why I have to leave GCU, I would NOT recommend this professor.
He is the best math professor at GCU by far. Pay absolutely no attention to student that rated him below that couldn't even pass his class using accommodations. That person must be slacker that has clearly failed to realize that you get out of an education what you put into one; no more, no less.
He made a bad class actually fun to attend
I struggled in the class due to not being prepared properly by my previous math teachers, but he did his best to help me make it through.
He's great. Trust me. He is.
He conveyed the material well, but he kinda does not go deep into the concepts, leading to students having to reteach themselves outside of class. He has on a few occasions allowed students to take tests at home, but expect to take tests in class. Not my favorite, but still a good teacher
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!
I originally failed this class with Dr. Torres Garcia, so I retook it with Professor Frazier and it went way better. You rock!
It was my first college math class and couldn't have been any easier.
Professor Frazier is a good professor. He goes over homework and the major excel assignments in class and shows you how to do everything. I do wish he would post the power-points he used during class. He is good about responding to emails and texts, even over the weekends.
Very easy class. He did everything for us he possibly could have done. No complaints from me.
He covers everything you need to know. You still have to work hard though, but he is very helpful and responds to texts quickly.
Definitely take this professor for MAT-144 and no one else. Even though there is quite a bit of homework in ALEKS, the way the site is set up allows you to pass if you pay attention. There are 3 major assignments in this course yet he does it all with us except for one part. Other professors to my knowledge don't do that for this course.
I think he did a very good job. I would certainly take him again. He responds to text messages basically 24/7, so if you need help, you can get help.
I am glad that I had him as my 261 teacher. You rock sir!
He says he will fix grades but then doesn't. I talked to him about fixing a grade like 5 times and he never fixed my grade. He does bump grades at the end of the year if you're really close though.
He was the best teacher I have had at GCU.
I was told he was the best one to take of the teachers that teach this class. I tell people the same now. There was A LOT of homework. He taught me as much Calculus in the class as DE.
Vince Frazier is a great semester for Pre-Calculus. His patience and clear explanations made a huge difference, I truly appreciate all of this help and support that he gave me throughout the semester. He is always willing to help students with homework during class, taking the time to explain concepts and guide students through any difficulties.
When only the best will do, take Frazier.
Vince is a great professor who makes math engaging. The class uses ALEKS, which involves lots of homework, but it really helps prepare for tests. unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep!
He is a very cool guy that believes in giving LOTS of homework. Unlike my Calculus teacher at GCU, he actually makes you learn what you are doing though.
He actually works problems in class. The other professors just talk. Great guy.
He is one of the few professors that I have had at GCU so far that actually wants you to learn.
He does a really good job in class. I failed a different professor for this class previously, but professor Frazier does everything he can to help you. It is still a hard class, but with his help, I made it!
If you want to learn how to do Calculus problems, he is the guy to take. My last professor at GCU wouldn't work any example problems, but Professor Frazier spends the whole class doing just that.
Prof. Frazier clearly wants his students to succeed. Math is definitely not my thing at all, but he made the content easier to understand. There are 3 tests plus a cumulative final exam, as well as 2 ‘major assignments' worth 200 points each.
This class was so easy. He almost never held us past the hour mark and test days were super easy and we got to leave right after the class. I was in his 7 am and it was my first class ever and he has an accent, so it kept me awake and entertained along with his jokes!
He is pretty laid back, and he definitely knows what he is doing. He will do the homework problems in class too. Oh, he is from Alabama and talks with an accent from there also. I would highly recommend him.
Vince is great and very chill. Easy A and class gets out in an hour!
This is the first math class in my academic career that I have not hated and it is definitely because of Vince. He is a great teacher and wants everyone to succeed, he provides all his students with the tools to do so. He will over homework, major assignments, and tests in class. He is hilarious and very caring, I cannot recommend him enough.
Unlike my professors for Calculus at GCU, he has standards, so the class is not easy. He is a very good professor though, but you get what you earn. He is funny too. I never had to study to pass any class at GCU until this one, so be prepared to work hard. Talk about race cars to him. That's his thing.
High school level math. He basically only wants you to show up and do your homework. Makes everything pretty self explanatory and easy to go through as long as you pay attention.
Vince is a pretty chill guy who very obviously knows what he's doing and talking about. He is a little bit difficult to learn off of though, so I highly recommend also using an online source such as youtube or khan academy. Pretty light grader and overall a pretty chill guy. Is willing to answer questions whenever you have them.
the major assignments were a large part of your grade and were grading pretty strictly, but i think that's just a gcu thing. definitely show up to class or else you'll lose a lot of points and he does say pretty helpful things for the tests and major assignments. tried to give us all the resources we needed to get an a on everything
He makes 144 super easy. It honestly felt like going to the comedy club sometimes instead of math class because he is legit funny. The people that complain about him must have learning disabilities.
Professor Vince blends humor, structure, and support in a way that makes Calculus both manageable and memorable.
Professor Frazier is AMAZING!! He is super funny and is a great teacher. Math is not something I enjoy, but he made it fun! He explains everything very well and is always open to questions. Participation does matter, and the questions are fun to answer. Overall, a great teacher and highly recommend.
The only thing better than his math teaching is his personality.
Professor Frazier is a great guy, but there is a ton to cover in the class. Therefore, you have to work harder than in other classes, but you also learn more than in other classes. The homework is time consuming, but he does a lot of examples in class. I actually didn't learn Calculus until this class. I highly recommend him if you want to learn.
I highly recommend you take Professor Frazier.
He makes this class seem so easy and fun
He is both funny and fair
Frazier was alright as a teacher and grader, and was just okay in general. Not much stood out, the class will be extremely difficult if you skip or don't do your work but the class is relatively easy up until the last 2 units that got rushed when I had it right before Christmas break.
I think he is great. He has standards, and I applaud him for it.
He does a great job of teaching the excel that you have to learn for the major assignments. He is funny too.
Frazier did a solid job. He is very funny too. It was my 3rd time taking the class but he got me through it.
He's very smart and funny too
I took the short summer class with him, which he couldn't have made any easier.
Very good professor. Very tough class.
He explains things really well and is funny too
Professor Frazier is the guy to take to learn how to actually solve differential equations. The class was challenging, but he was very fair. Highly recommend.
If you actually want to learn, he's the guy to take.
Easily the best math professor at GCU. Had him for double-paced summer DE and learned all the material + prerequisite material other GCU professors left out in Calc I and II, and came out of it understanding Differential equations and Calculus without having to teach myself any of the material. He's also hilarious and doesn't waste your time. 10/10
Genuinely funny guy that happens to also be very good at explaining math to other people that are not very good at it.
Professor Frazier actually made math class fun. I didn't think that was possible until I took his class.
Great professor that actually cares if you really learn the material
Very nice and funny professor! He made me enjoy the class more. Even though I'm not good at math he explained the material well. He also does participation once a week instead of both days.
I loved Professor Fraizer! He's funny and chill. Though assignments obviously need some effort, they're straightforward. There are 3 exams, 1 final, and 3 major assignments. He does major assignments in class. Pay attention and try, and you'll find the class manageable. I would recommend his class to anyone taking MAT-144.
Simply the best
He is a funny and kind professor. His lecturing style is not the greatest for everyone, if you need an in-depth explanation and need multiple examples to grasp something, then you'll definitely need to talk to him after the lecture and get extra explanation as he can be brief. Just do the homework and study and you'll be fine.
You, Aleks, and quality time. That's what he says you need to be successful.
Good class. He shows you how to work all the homework problems.
He has the best stories, EVER. Extremely funny too.
He did a great job in our class and on discussing the major assignments.
