Every class was fun. The tests were hard, but there were a lot of opportunities for extra credit points. Very informative class. Easy to get a very good grade if you attend class, participate, and do your learning logs.
HORRIBLE CLASS. BORING! I would NOT recommend this class to ANYONE. It's easy if you can actually stay awake, this was my least favorite class to go to out of 7 of my classes last semester. He most likely failed in the real business world, so now he teaches us students. I would NEVER take advise from him. Worthless.
Nice teacher and class was great, just do your learning logs, can get extra credit as long as you come to class and the book might not be used in class, however some items on the tests is from the book, as long as you read the book and show up and do the extra credit, this class will be good.
This class is very boring! He teaches an internet class that would probably be better. All the extra credit he offer the internet course is offered to you as well which is helpful. Learning logs are confusing, and the tests are sooo long! You can't even use the notes/powerpoints he gives you for the test. The material isn't even on it.
I thought this class was very interesting. He is very good at engaging class participation. The tests are hard unless you have really listened through the lectures; however, the concepts are easy. He is very interested in your success and will allow you to turn in learning logs ahead of time to make sure you're on the right track. Great professor.
Very interesting class. Knows his stuff. You earn the grade you get. Very fair. In his class learning can be fun.
Intro to business over the internet. Class was very easy, instuctor does give you various opportunities for extra credit..Complete all assignments and do extra credit and it is not hard to get an A or B in this class.
This INTERNET class is BORING and DIFFICULT. He is so STRICT with grading. He does not appreciate quality over quantity. His assignments are more like busy work than learning tools. I can't wait 'til this course is over. I will probably barely get a "B or C" in this class and I am a student on the "Deans list". Take my advice...RUN!!
Worst class I've ever taken, worst teacher I've ever had to deal with. There is absolutely no instruction. Work is difficult due to the fact that you have such little information to work from. Will not work with you whatsoever. I normally do very well, even made the President's List, but I somehow failed this class! Avoid this guy at all costs!
This teacher was the worst i have ever had nothing is clearly explained and when you ask him for help he is useless. He is not interested in helping student pass his class. Do not recommend him at ALL! awful experience for my first business class
Taking this teacher's class was a joke and I will never take a class taught by him again. Tests are solely based on the text and ironically he teaches nothing from the book.He talks like you will walk out from this class with a higher understanding of how you function in the world, and I'm honestly still waiting for this apiffany. Save your money!
I love his classes and I really think he is a great teacher. You get out what you put in. He is very helpful and understanding but you are required to DO the work.
A pretty boring class, though it would probably be more interesting for those who actually want to go in business (took as an elective). He prints out notes from his lectures and gives them to you. Tests can be taken in class or at home via MyPHCC (both open note). Not difficult to pass if you get good grades on the tests and the one assignment.
I completed 3 of his online courses with an A. Do the work and you will be okay. He adds more to the online experience than many others. Lots of secondary resources and material in the online course keep it interesting.
One of the best teachers at PHCC period! DQ questions are insightful and make you think, podcast are informative and also make you better understand the material! I have aced all 3 classes I have had with Mr. Daviero and there is a reason for that! He is the best! A+++++++++++++++++ :)
I have never felt that a professor could truly bring me down. A+ student with my first F ever in his course. He is misleading and his course portfolio is scatter-brained. Does not show compassion toward his body of student nor does he care about ones future. He is caught up in his ego-maniacal big shot world of being a community college professor!
This teacher seems to be more concerned with quantity than quality of work. If you do all the assignments with good quality, you are only a C student to him. B if you exceed requirements. A if you extremely exceed requirements. He comments I did a good job with good examples then takes points off.3.9 GPA 90+ credit hours. This guy needs to retire.
He is very contradicting, take his discussion questions for example, he will tell you that you did a great job but you get a 65 out of 100. You can never please the man. I am an A student in everything else. His class was the first C I recieved. I will try to avoid him for the rest of my business classes.
Good professor. was an easy course...would recommend to anyone.
My first assignment was about Pit Bull rescue, I spent hours on this assignment and I was really proud of it, I got a D-. Everytime I did an assignment about these dogs, I got a low grade. I believe he has personal issues with them and took it out on my grade. I would NOT recommend him at all, not only because of the dog thing, because he is hard!
I have taken over 40 college courses and this professor is, by far, the worst one yet. He tells me "well done, good work" and then proceeds to give me a 75%? What the heck. He considers good work a C, and only if you go above and beyond you get a B. He's concerned with quantity NOT quality!
Okay teacher, i agree with previous comment, he cares about quantity and says only good work but gives me a C. Its annoying but i guess thats college. Just a few quizzes and two tests, a midterm and final. Not really hard, and i only used the book on tests. Gives presentations and videos to watch, pretty easy on the workload, just hard on the forum
He grades really harshly. I have been getting emails all semester from other students who don't understand why they cant get a grade higher than a B when everything on the syllabus is followed.
I took this class online. Mr Daviero is great. It is kind of difficult to find out what he wants for you to get an A. But if you do the learning logs, with several pages at least two entries per chapter, you should be fine. I am taking marketing and internatinal biz with him in the Spring.
Daviero is a really great instructor. He offers extra credit if you need it. I strongly recommend him. But, he does assign a very large quantity of work and sometimes it is difficult to determine exactly what he wants from you.
I took this class online. It is a very good class, you will learn a lot about globalization. Daviero is awesome. He does however assign a very large amount of work. But he does offer extra credit and answers email extremely fast. I definitely recommend him!!
I took his online course. I found his powerpoints to be unhelpful. More like a list of words that you have to give meaning to yourself. Most of the assignments are based on your own thoughts about the material, which was only difficult because he didn't give enough information about the material.
This is the second course I have taken with Daviero, and will start one more tomorrow. Not the worst prof. I have had, but not the best by far. Teaches one thing in is course work, but tests you on another. Syllabus is difficult to understand, and his grading procedures seem unbalanced. I have a 3.7 GPA, and do well in all classes except his.
test are difficult. I took the class online and his due dates were very unclear. ended up getting behind and asked if I could have help getting caught up. He said that I couldnt make anything up. I ended up having to withdraw from the class to avoid failing
Excellent teacher. Tough love would easily describe him. Very insightful and informed. Will help you with absolutely anything, as long as you put in the time and effort. Good for students going into the business field and those who aren't. Tests can be a bit tricky, read as much as you can of the book and always pay attention in class.
Mistake taking this class as an elective. Thought I might be able to apply this information to work but seems my thoughts versus his power points and tests are all off. Very confusing and not easy to understand at all.
Took online class with him and will try to avoid from now on. His syllabus was difficult to understand and his DQs were confusing. Very tough on grading even when minimum was met.
This teacher does not explain what he wants in his discussion posts but then grades strictly. Would not recommend him!
He was not specific at all in his directions and graded very harshly. He didn't teach anything, I had to rely on the textbook for everything. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM.
He likes you to type a lot. I had no interest in this class before I took it, and really liked the class. For the discussion questions and log go the extra mile writing and you will get an A. He really was easy.
I feel like he unfairly grades. The clarity of his grading "rubic" is very murky. Sometimes he can be very confusing on what he expects.
He is a great professor; he really makes you use your critical thinking skills. A tip is to always write as much as possible; even if you think you have it down in 3 sentences, WRITE MORE. He may seem strange at first but the class will become more enjoyable. Hope this helps!
Professor Daviero is a very good teacher! He expects his students to use critical thinking skills. He is very enthusiastic and knows his subject material. I got an A with much effort! Do all that he asks - read the book, his notes, and all the DQ questions, and learning logs. He wants you to explain how and why for your answers. You learn a lot!
Principles of Supervision online was a great class.. the work load was not too much. There was one discussion post a week, 2 essays, 4 quizzes, midterm and final. He was understanding if there was a legitimate reason for an assignment being late. Could have been better if we were allowed to work ahead and if more questions came from the textbook.
Professor Daviero is a professional at all times. Very easy to understand. Always stays on topic. Gets you involved in the course, which is great. As long as you keep up with the weekly assignments, you will do great. I will definitely take Professor Daviero for more Business classes. A great man.
Great professors! Took him for intro to business this fall taking international business with him online in the spring. You learn a lot but it is tough. Must really put a lot of work to get an A they definitely are not just given. You get what you put into it with this class.
I took him for intro to business and he's a pretty good professor. The tests are pretty hard and don't really relate to the lecture notes and lecture is pretty boring. He gives extra credit throughout the year and its best to do it while its assigned because at the end of the semester he won't give more and he doest round up (not even an 89.9)
I am currently in Daviero's MAR3803 hybrid course but have taken him for about 4 other online courses. He is sometimes a bit boring and confusing when lecturing, but his grading is very clear, assignments are easy yet stimulating, and he interacts very well with his students and gives amazing feedback. If you're in business, take his courses.
Professor Daviero has a vast amount of knowledge in business. He is a great teacher and expects you to use brain. Which is a useful trait to learn. I would definitely take him again. Class is only out of 100 points - don't miss any assignments.
Took this as a hybrid. Prof. Daviero obviously knows a good deal about his subject, but his lectures can be somewhat repetitive and his grading and assignments are confusing. I wish he gave more detailed and specific feedback. But he's willing to help students, and you can pass with a decent grade as long as you do the work, which is quite a bit.
Fantastic Professor with real world experience. I do not enjoy "Marketing," per se, but his passion for the field made the experience enjoyable, memorable, and practical. I feel smarter after working for an A in this course.
I've taken Mr. Daviero for Intro to Business and Organizational Behavior. If you are a lazy student looking for an "easy A", be careful taking this teacher. As a student, I found that when you show interest in learning, he becomes an invaluable resource through out the semester. If you work for it, you'll earn your A though. Really enjoyed class.
Very unclear on grading and feedback. Assigns pretty hard assignments for associate level courses and answers any questions like a politician. If you think you fully understand the assignment double check with him because you probably don't. I received a high B but I will never take this instructor again.
WARNING!! I am a good student and I work hard and this professor seems to make it impossible to pass. His discussion questions are unclear and hardly related to the text. Do not take this professor. Wish I would have had a warning. Here's mine to you all.
awful
Avoid at all costs, terrible.
Professor Daviero is a nice man, but a tough grader. Make sure you answer the discussion questions very thoroughly. Provide lots of details and references and do not miss any assignments. There is one discussion question per week and the occasional test. Also, there are two essays and a learning log submitted in two parts. Be thorough!
Unrealistic.
Boosted
I would not recommend this professor to anyone. He is very unclear with what he wants exactly. He gives good feedback after he grades the assignment, which doesn't help after you've already turned the assignment in.
He is rude when he gives feedback and only tells you what you do wrong. For example, instead of saying "Good Job" he says "That will do". His assignments make no sense it's almost like he has nothing better to do than to find the most boring articles for you to read. Definitely won't be taking him again & hopefully no one else will have to.
I am a hard working student and this professor is one of the professors no student would like to take. He is very unclear with what he wants in his assignments and is way too hard in his grading. I communicated with him constantly what I could have done to better my grade and even then he was unhelpful.
The assignments are vague, entirely too broad, and his feedback is too general. He doesn't offer specifics and expects amazing results with little information presented to the student. If you meet all the standards, you will still get a C. Per the syllabus, you must go above and beyond the standards to get an A. Very unrealistic for Intro to Bus.
The ability to use critical thinking skills is a must. Read the chapter(s), answer a DQ (which can be a bit challenging), couple of tests throughout the course and two learning logs. Very light work load, easy to reach via e-mail and quick feedback. Ask questions if you don't understand.
If you don't understand something, just ask questions. He's not as tough as I thought he was in the beginning. My writing skills have great improved because of this professor, so I'm glad I took the class!
He has a bad grading scale so the many discussion questions he gives you are basically pointless, I skipped about 8 of them and am still receivin a b in the class. He care excessively about grammar and make sure you capitaliz your I's. I avoid him every year in classes because he is terrible. When you ask him questions he is of no help what-so ever
No feedback. Too much information thrown at you to use in projects. Not sure what is expected to be used and what is supposed to "inspire." Lots of writing. I've had him for multiple classes, not by choice. I got assigned him after the professor I selected opted out. I am a 3.9 gpa student, so not lazy. I feel like he is not engaged.
Mr. Daviero Is a great teacher. I have taken several classes that he teaches, both online and in the classroom. It will not be a show up and get an easy A but if you simply put SOME effort in you will pass with at least a B. I scored an A in every single class I have taken with him. You will actually learn about business in his classes.
Prof Daviero wasn't terrible, but feedback was bad. 1-2 Discussion Boards a week, 2 quizzes, mid and final exams, 2 essays, learning log (split in 2 parts). Make sure to write 3-4 paragraphs PER log entry (min 1 per chapter; write as much as possible!!). Discussion boards were confusing at times and make sure to cite everything in the instructions!
In my opinion, he is way too tough of a grader. The class is mostly discussion boards where you have to answer certain questions for each one, you could write a book and still only get .5 credit. Most of the questions ask your opinion or your point of view on something & I don't think you should really be graded on that since it's your own thoughts
he is an amazing teacher. he knows so much about all of the concepts of business management.
I believe Professor Vincent Daviero is an exceptional professor who enjoys what he does. He is very caring and is definitely a professor that I would recommend to other students going for similar majors. He makes it a point that what you learn and take out of the course is more important than the degree.
If you truly are interested /enjoy business, take this class. If not, DONT. Good guy, really seems to care, but if you dont love what youre learning, you wont succeed in his class! Its very much expected that you go out and learn MOST of the material on your own. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU TRULY WANT TO BE IN BUSINESS. Terrible class if not.
I have his online class and the DQ question was a nightmare! I have no idea what he wants I am a hard worker and I do all my work on time but I still have to try very hard to pass his class! DONT TAKE HIS CLASSES !!!!
As the person below said. He is not clear on what it is that he is expecting. The DQs were my hardest point dropper. He did offer extra credit to our online class but I believe that was because so many people had a low score in his class. Without the extra credit, I would have had to retake the course.
Has so many DQs and doesn't really tell you what he wants. I answered one of his DQs to the tee and he gave me a D. His feedback is just "See DQ scoring", not whether it was long enough or if he wants more information on what I said. His grading system is highly irritating. He does a point system instead of an actual grade. (Ex. 2.3/3.00)
Lecture exams. Free notecard in every exam. Exams in groups.
He gives very minimal feedback on your assignments, and requires discussions to be answered ahead of due date (Due Saturday, post by Wednesday). No feedback given on posts or anything. Your grade boils down to Discussions, Quizzes, and Exams. Quizzes and Exams make up the majority of your grades but there are only two exams and four quizzes.
If you can avoid this professor, do it! He is unclear, a harsh grader, and rude when it comes to feedback. His grading system is set up for students to fail, and does not care about helping the student. I submitted a project for review, he said it was OK to turn in, I turn it in and get half the points. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM. BEWARE.
Not too bad, I took him my first semester and got a B. About 3 exams but the answers are all online. Lectures get really boring, about half the class fall asleep
I am a straight- a student who's never had a problem with any phsc professor. Daviero's consumer behavior class is hard and he won't ever give you a perfect score. I turned in a blank assignment by accident and he accused me of cheating, which I would never do. I emailed him a super nice email and he shot back with if you do it again you get a zero
You have to do everything perfectly to get a good score on your discussions. Hes very picky and not very lenient. I did a discussion 3 days before it was due and he gave me a bad grade with no clear reason. I asked if I could edit it and he said All posts are final. There is no second chances when it comes to this class.
Daviero grades very tough. I feel like he never uses the rubric when grading so there is never a clear criteria for grading
You could work your hardest in this class and you will rarely get a 100% on an assignment. I do the same level of work in my other classes and I get perfect 100s. In this class, I go above and beyond the requirements and he will give me a C+ or a B- on it with no clear reason. If you ask him what you did wrong, hell just send you the rubric.
I do my work and put in as much effort into his class as I do my other classes. In my other classes I get a 100 in this class, you pretty much get a 75 or lower on everything. You email him to ask questions for help bettering your assignments and he just pushes you towards the grading rubric. He is quick to accuse cheating if you edit anything.
He is an inconsistent and harsh grader who doesn't give good feedback on any work, and if you ask questions he'll refer you to his rubric. He locks all modules upon the due date and doesn't accept missing/late work at all. If you do take this course I recommend writing all due dates in a calendar so you don't forget them. He does give extra credit.
Hes terrible, he doesnt teach, and last minute assigns more work without any warning. Save yourself and avoid this class at all costs. Didnt learn anything in this class and it was a total waste of time.
I worked really hard in this class and genuinely gave it my all. He honestly seems lazy. When I budgeted my time throughout the course based on the syllabus he randomly threw in more assignments last minute. Everything is cookie cutter and redundant. Honestly feel like I learned nothing. Do NOT take his class, especially if you work full time.
Lazy professor, he doesn't have clear assignment descriptions at all on the very few assignments he gives out. The entire course mainly consists of only weekly discussion posts explaining one term in each chapter and he grades tough on all of them. He also changes assignment directions without updating the description on that assignment at all.
This professor attempts in every way possible to fail you. He is condescending, refuses to admit fault; even when he post incorrect information. Do not take his class, It's not worth stress. He's unbearable. You can spend days writing a paper and he will tell you that you've misunderstood, to start over. He isn't clear on any of his assignments.
I would not recommend this professor to anyone ever. One time I had asked him to explain feedback and he just repeated what he had already said. I felt like I was giving everything I had to this class and this instructor WANTED me to FAIL. I ended up writing about 800 words for discussions just trying to succeed.
Typical online class, professor didn't give me issues but I felt like his grading wasn't consistent. Only has a few quizzes which are mainly multiple choice and the midterm and final are too. With the learning log, put more than 1 concept per chapter. Professor doesn't want you to fail, but it would be hard to get an A. Some Extra Credit
