AWESOME teacher. nicest guy ever who really cares. class is all lecture and he posts quizzes online which he makes his tests from. really easy if you just do the practice quizzes! Great professor. Took the lab and lecture and definitely enjoyed both, he tries to make the lab as field based as possible which makes everything more interesting. You should show up to every lab to get at least a B. As for the Lecture, you can miss it occasionally and be fine. Tests come from lecture and online quizzes. Show up and you will pass.

Prof D is a great professor who is passionate about his subjects. I took geo101 and his class was easy/informative but you must study the online quizzes! The class lectures were the only semi-bad aspect because he usually goes off on tangents that drag on the lectures but he is a very entertaining professor!

Professor D is GREAT. He really cares about his students and loves teaching. This was my second time taking it and I took it as a summer class. He actually tells you how to get an A so make sure you listen and you will be fine. PROFESSOR D ROCKS!!!

Took him for the lecture and lab. super easy and he helps you out. you don't need the lecture book, as he gives you the essay questions on the test during class, and all the multiple choice Q's on the test are exactly from the quizzes you take online. take him and get your 1 science and lab class out the way!!

This class wasn't really easy, but he gave extra credit and I ended up with a B. He is reallllly nice and made geology a pretty fun. I recommend this class especially if you need your science credit, as it is SO much easier than Biology.

Geology 101:Grades on a curve. He offers extra credit. Test based on his on-line quizes and lecture. Essay questions given ahead of time. Basically, he gives you every opportunity to pass his class. Geology Lab--basically show up and you get an A. Highly Recommend!!!

He is hilarious, he tends to ramble, but we teach a lot about every subject. His passion lies with Geology so respect it, act like you care, show that you are trying and you'll be set.

I took his online class and it was extremly easy. There was a good amount of discussion boards, but the quizes and tests were really easy. He is very helpful and you will definatly pass this class. If I had to take another science class he would be my teacher!

Great teacher!!! Loved this class. we had 3 actual class meetings, first day (on campus) half way through the semester and our final meeting was at claim jumpers. Trust me it related to geology. 3 field trips. Amazing!!! I learned alot. it was a relaxing environment. I have actually retained the information. Text books are great resources easy read

I LOVED PROF. D!!!! He is extremely engaging in class and you know exactly what you are going to be tested on. The multiple choice questions on the test come from quizzes you take online. For the group project he tells you how he is going to grade, no surprises. If you attend and pay attention you will pass. Plus he is funny!

I love geology, so I loved this class. It is sad to see so many uninterested students. His class was easy, if u study just a little. He really loves geo. & wants u to love it too. If u show an interest, then u wont be bored. Geol. is everwhere, & he wants u to know that. He tries to appeal to students that dont care, but there is no pleaseing them.

prof d is a great guy. really relates the subject to you since scv is on a fault line. if you need to take a science course this is the one for you since it's not that hard. all quizzes are online and open-book. midterm and final are multiple-choice and essay. group project is 20-30% of grade. put in some effort and you will do just fine.

I really enjoyed this class, and it was pretty simple. Although I do have to say that the assistant taught a bit more than he did. He can be a little disorganized, but still pretty easy to follow.

Great professor, he is very passionate about geology which is encouraging. It's a challenging class but really interesting. The TA is not good. The TA really brings down the class and acts a little haughty towards students. But devlahovich is awesome

Amazing professor. Turned me on to geology which was a subject I was hardly interested in prior. Makes learning the material fun and relevant. HIGHLY recommend his field studies class. Life changing. This class made me change my major from Business to Environmental Studies! As long as you do your work and attend class Prof. D will help you out with your grades, and he's a lot of fun. Don't be deterred from the class just because of the field studies trips, they are a ton of fun and you'll really bond with your class. I absolutely loved it!

We rarely did Geology in the class, but I made great friends by the end of the semester. I'm sad its over. If you're not doing well he will help you with extra credit. He's extremely funny, but pay attention when he talks, he can get a little offended if you don't. I wish he taught something I enjoy and understand, I love him! DO THE QUIZES!

I took this class short term and online with meetings every week on campus and it was the easiest class I've ever taken! He assigns readings for two to three chapters per week with quizzes to go along with them. As for the actual class on campus he shows a lot of interesting videos and talks. Take this class!!

I took him for the Winter Intersession. He was very clear and concise about what he wanted and expected. I loved the class and it was very easy. You have to read the textbook in order to take the tests and quizzes but if you do you're guaranteed an A.

Best Geology prof ever. He makes the class so interesting and I really did enjoy going to class every day. Make sure that you get the book, because he does quizzes that are the SLO's. Definitely would recommend him!

I took his short term earth science class. To get an A in the class just show up and take the test on line each week. Since it is a short term you are going through two chapters a week instead of one. He puts quizzes on blackboard which aren't graded, so as long as you do those you will do good on the test. The questions are the sme as the guizzes.

He's the nicest guy, and he's really passionate about what he teaches. For this class, just attend class and take the quizzes before the actual tests and you're pretty much guaranteed an A.

Probably the best professor I've ever had. I took his short-term class, and it might be the easiest/most interesting class ever. Basically the tests are all questions from the online quizzes on Blackboard. So just do the quizzes untill you get 100% and you're good to go. I also learned a lot from this class ( safety wise ) so pay ATTENTION.

Uses blackboard a lot which is helpful, just do the online quizzes over and over again until you get all the right answers and then he takes those quizzes and uses the exact questions/answers on the tests. However, there are also "essay" questions which are memorization. Field trip = 2 wks off the semester! Counted as class time to go camping :)

I have taken many online classes and he is by far the easiest professor. I really only took the class for credit and I loved it. Any question i had he responded in an email right away. Do all the quizzes over and over again till you get and A (Save them on a diff. document) and the test is questions from the quizzes! super easy!

I needed this as a transfer unit but I actually really enjoyed this class. He is very organized and sets clear deadlines. He is also a fair grader. I found this class very interesting and made me more appreciative of Earth. Overall It is very manageable and structured. Also quiz questions make up the whole test! My advice is to TAKE HIM!

Professor D is one of my favorite professors of all time. He made my first semester of Geology unforgettable. Great laid-back style and and awesome personality! He is a professor you can tell is invested in what he is teaching. Cares about his students and cares about their grades. Loved this class!

Took his class online and it was very easy! Discussion posts every week, 2 quizzes per week and one test per week. The tests are the same questions as the quizzes so there is no reason not to get perfect scores on the tests. I really learned a lot and I would definitely take this class again.

I took on line class. He is one of BEST professors on our campus. I misunderstood parts of syllabus so read very carefully . Unlike other online classes re times assignments must post . Passionate about his work, you will learn a lot. Lots of info to cover, so if not xlnt with recall 4 terms take 16 wk class, Not short term. EXTREMELY HELPFUL

I took this class online to help my GPA. I did not need the book so dont bother. He posts powerpoint notes that are helpful and tests are based off of the quizes which you are allowed to take multiple times.

Took the class online for transfer credit and loved it despite the material being of no interest. I feel I learned a lot and can appreciate the world around me better. Very straightforward with assignments and tests, but NOT an easy class, be prepared to read and research a LOT if you take the accelerated class, not 3-4 hours, more like 8 per week.

Quizzes can be done multiple times and are straight out of the book. Exams are the quiz so save a copy of the completed quiz and use for a study guide (do it once you are done because the quizzes are removed when Exam becomes available). Discussions are based on word count and participation. Easy A but need the book even with powerpoints.

I took his online class. 2 discussion topics a week and 2 quizzes a week that you can take multiple times until you get all answers correct. Write questions and answers down in notebook, weekly tests are based on quiz questions. I learned a lot about Earth from this class, so much great information. His lesson plans and requirements are clear-cut.

Good teacher. Very passionate about his job. Have to go camping. I hated it and did not sleep the whole weekend due to the low temperatures. Three tests. Take the quizzes on blackboard over and over and you will pass the test. Quizzes every class. Skim the chapters before class and you will do decent. You have to teach yourself since he does not.

Super great class. Easy to read on BB, discussions are minimum 200 words and respond to two others with 100 words or more. He gives you multiple times to take the quizzes (every chapter) which are used later for the tests so save them. Overall, easy A.

Dr. D is an outstanding professor. The expectations are extremely clear, but the material is not. It is important to study the material and success is a guarantee in this course. There is a group project at the end of the semester, which appears to be a headache. Although, turns out to be a great experience. I definitely recommend this course.

He's a pretty good teacher. I did the summer course online so it was about 3 chapters a week but you don't really need the book. Be sure to cite your sources and make sure you meet the word count!!! Don't email him a question without doing your best to find it first. Tests are questions from the quizzes so print them out. Overall a good teacher

Took his online class over the 5 week summer session & it was pretty easy. 3 discussion boards (200 words each) w/ 2 responses per prompt (100 words each) & a 40 question mc test each week. The test has exactly the same questions as the practice tests. Don't bother buying the book either, he has power points or you can easily google the questions.

Dr. D. has been one of the best professors I've had at COC. He loves teaching period, not just his particular subject but about life and education in general. He cares about his students. It was a fun class but you also learn a lot because of the interaction and great environment he creates in the classroom.

Awesome class especially for an online, pretty interesting and not too difficult. The weekly tests are pulled from the quiz questions which you can take multiple times and are not graded, they are purely for you to study for the tests. Research questions every week are not difficult but are time consuming.

Took this class as a short-term online class as a general requirement. No reason not to get an A in this class. Take the chapter quizzes over and over until you get all the answers correct. I took his Geology 101 class over the 5 week winter course. There are 3 discussion questions every week, you have to write a 200 response to each of them as well as responding to 2 other classmates in 100 words. There is also a 40 question quiz each week that you have 30 minutes to answer. Easy A as long as you aren't a lazy person.

You have to spend a lot of time researching and preparing for the test(quizes). This class requires you to actually take your time and read the text from start to finish to actually pass the class. If you have time and the patience then you'll do well. I think his online class is fair, just wish he did lecture videos other then reading the text.

Super easy online short term class. You have two discussion posts and two quizzes per week, then a test on the chapter at the end of the week. Simple and straightforward. You definitely need the book to help you find the answers for the quiz. I would recommend this class for an easy A

Thought his class was going to be tough but it wasn't, managed to pass with a B+ Also only used the book once, he's a pretty random guy (gets off topic) loves peoples participation, recommend that you study for the 2 questioned quizzes each class, & defiantly be present at the end of the semester so you don't get docked points !

Super easy short term class. You will need the textbook for the tests but all the answers are in the book so you just have to read and find them. Graded on discussions and quizzes and tests. Super easy and straightforward, even if you've never taken a Geography class.

I took his class online during a winter session and it had the amount of work you'd expect. The quizzes are easy with unlimited tries and the same exact questions are on the tests, so make note of that. Discussions are fun and interesting and even controversial at times. Definitely would recommend his class

does not make things more complicated than needed. Took the online 5 week class what to expect per wk Read 3 chs write 3 200 word discussions, 3 easy non graded quiz, 1 graded test. All questions for test are pulled from the quiz. Words are not changed around exactly the same multiple choice. I use my quiz as notes to study for the test.

Professor Devlahovich gives detailed instructions for all coursework and requirements. If you follow the instructions you shouldn't have any issues with the class. Also, the exams and quizzes were very easy. The fact that the quizzes and tests are similar makes things stuck in your head more easily

Took it during winter online, and it was super easy. The professor tells you to get the book, but I wouldn't. Discussions are research questions, and the quizzes have unlimited attempts so anything you need can be found online. The test questions are combined questions from the quizzes. Pretty much, anything you need for the class is online.

take this professor! took 8 week shortened online class during spring. expect two weekly discussions, 2 quizzes (not graded), and 1 test. test is completely based off quizzes word for word so use them on ur test. no final, no midterm, no essays. listen to me n take this class for an easy A!!! also, don't get the textbook, everything is on quizlet.

I took this class online for short term and it was a piece of cake! There were mandatory discussions every week that did require some research. Other than that all the quizzes and tests are online basically word for word. (except the diagrams and pictures)

Prof. Vincent Delahavovich has very clear and easy to follow requirements. The Online classes required regular discussion post and replies but the quizzes can be used for the test. Which is really helpful. Would absolutely take the class again.

I took the online class for Geology 104 and he has a very good grading criteria!Do your discussioin questions on time ! He uses the quizzes for the exam so that is very helpful! I´d reccomend taking his online class!

Dr. D is probably one of my favorite professors Ive ever had. Hilarious, inspirational, caring, amazing guy. Only reason I give 4 stars is about half the class is self taught, and the source he provided for my section was not very helpful. Did a lot of research on my own because the power points were confusing and he didnt go over them.

Dr. D is an amazing professor with lots of insight into everything. A majority of class is self-taught, but the information is attainable and fairly easy to understand. The tests are fairly easy if you are reading through the lecture slides. The class was insightful and fun to be in. Wonderful professor!!

This is probably one of my favorite professors at COC he is funny and very chill! But the class goes fast, I REALLY recommend him if your looking for a easy yet you do have to study professor!

Dr.D made labs very interactive most things were self taught but he was always helped you out when you needed, so I would ask him questions to help you out during labs. Make sure you submit your class discussions on time super easy points to get. He is very funny as well and tries to make labs a little less boring.

Oh Professor Devlahovich... where do I even begin? What a blessing of a man. The chillest professor to roam the planet, would give him a 6 if I could. Came out of retirement to teach the class, absolutely goated. I entered the class a mere nimwit, and emerged as a developed geologist. Absolutely recommend.
