This teacher is AMAZING, he's straight-forward and simple teaching style is what keeps me in this class. He has a great sense of humor, and doesn't hesitate to joke around with the class. He also gives 'free' quizzes (10/10) just for showing up! I don't need anymore math, but I will be taking his next level class because he's so awesome!

Excellent Professor! Has a great way of showing how to solve problems w/his two color markers. Goes over hmwrk questions & any new problems that are being shown. Quizzes are helpful & he goes over those too. For not being a morning person in his 6:50am class, I'd take the next class w/him if it was that early cuz I know his teaching style works.

I haven't even finished the course yet, and I can already confidently say he is very knowledgable on the material he teaches and therefore makes it a lot easier on the students. Highly recommended if you want to learn the material.

Super nice guy! He teaches well, breaking down concepts on the board and even uses examples from the assigned homework in lecture. There were a couple pop quizzes, but only if he thinks everyone is ready for it; usually told us about them. Quizzes/tests were very similar to homework problems, nothing too complicated. Make sure your algebra is good!

Great teacher already planning on taking him for 120, 1 HW assignment a week and 4-5 tests but they were very short like 20 problems max. Final was a breeze only 20 questions you get a 3x5 card and he gave us an almost identical practice test!

He made algebra FUN! He went over every question anyone had and explained things clearly, so the homework, quizzes, and tests were a breeze. Math was not my strong subject before but this class changed that.

Great lectures. Helpful, friendly, and encouraging. He likes to explain complex things in very simple ways. He doesn't like memorizing formulas when you can quickly derive the information you need, so in that sense he varies from the book which is full of formulas. Homework is graded, gives quizzes, attendance is a must if you want to do well.

He's a nice guy, but the lectures were really watered down. I didn't feel like I learned that much other than the basics. Not too much application practice. If you plan on going to Calc, look into another teacher, if you just need Trig - take him.

AMAZING professor! Hands down the best there is at explaining math, especially when it gets complex. In fact, I refuse to take Pre-Calc with anyone except him, and am hoping to stay with him for as long as possible in mathematics.

I have had Professor Jones for Math 100 (Fall 2012) and now have him for Math 120 (Spring 2013). He is my favorite professor I have had. He clearly explains every problem and works through all the steps slowly so everyone can understand. If you ask him a question he will answer in a way you understand. I highly recommend him for all math class.

At first I was a bit skeptical about his class. I was used to teachers handing out worksheets galore and taking quizes weekly. Instead Prof Jones just jumps straight into trig problems and we learn from there. Exams are every 2 or 3 weeks. He is leniant with grades and is very understanding. He is a good teacher and I learned alot in his class.

Jones is an amazing professor. I loved this class because he was very easygoing. He allows you to do your homework during class and you can turn it in early. He offered a lot of extra credit if you went to the tutoring. If you have an A in the class you do not have to take the final. I will be taking his math classes as long as possible.

Jones was one of the most awesome teachers I've ever had. I have not taken math in about 4-5 years, and I looked forward to going to his class at 8 am in the morning. Just pay attention, ask questions, copy the problems he goes over, and you'll understand how to do all the problems. 5 Question quiz per class, 20Qx20 homework, 4 tests, 1 final.

He is an excellent teacher, you can miss class if you want and tests are very simple and are everything that is reviewed. Homework was due once a month and he takes time to explain everything to everyone.

Professor Jones is a great teacher, if you say you need help he's there for you. The only thing I hated about his class was that he was too slow, he took forever to get through problems in lecture, I felt like I was wasting my time. But the biggest complaint I have is My Math Lab. Math is already difficult, but doing it on that was a nightmare.

Mr. Jones is a very fun and engaging teacher. He explains math concepts very clearly. Doesn't get frustrated when irrelevant questions get asked. In all, he cares for the students success and is willing to go above and beyond to clear up any issues. If you do your assignments and take good notes, you shouldn't have any problems passing his class.

I would take him again. It sucks how he doesn't teach STAT. He is a really a good professor who cares about the learning of his students. Take him if you are not good in math he is very helpful and makes math look easy he is available to help you if you need it. He isn't a tough grader only a little bit on the quizzes but that's okay because he will still give some points for at least trying even if you don't get the answer right. I would definitely take him again. He is AMAZING.

If you are struggling in math take his class. He is passionate about his study, and wants all his students to be successful. Can't skip class if you do you will miss lots of material, but I encourage you to stick with the class be dedicated. Soak up all the information he is teaching you. Really tough class for me, but I'm glad I had Prof Jones for it. He outlines literally everything you need to know for the exams- there are no surprises. He gives homework online and there are multiple pop quizzes, but you often do them as a class. He will repeat something multiple times, in different ways, until the students understand. Great guy!

I would have to say that Professor Jones is by far the best teacher I ever had for Math. Considering I am local to crc, but decided to make the drive to arc just to take a knowledgeable Math Professor. The lectures are exactly what you need to know for the exams/quizzes. I took Professor Jones for Math 330 Trigonometry. He is a great teacher to say the least! Very caring and tries his best to make sure all of his students understand concepts and succeed. I took his summer trigonometry class. It was easy class for me. Class includes 5 exams, quizzes almost everyday and 20 homework assignments on my math lab. Professor jones gives study guides before exams which is similar to test. His tests are mostly from homework questions. Last exam was optional if you get more than 92% . Definitely recommended..

Simply one of the best Math professors at ARC. There's a lot of different ways to solve Trig problems. Prof Jones instills in us that there are many ways to solve them, although he shows us his ways. That's how Trig should be taught. He's also an amazing person in general and a very cool guy outside of class. One of the nicest professors. TY Prof!!

Proffessor Jones has become my favorite math proffessor on this campus. His lectures are very in depth, therefore all of it was pretty easy to understand. He cares about student success in his class, and will do his best to help anyone who needs it.

The class is Business Calculus, so obviously its not easy, but he explained everything very thoroughly and made it very easy to understand. He provided us every tool to get a good grade. He'll also include typed notes for a lot of the lessons which is helpful. He'll schedule individual office hours as many times as you need. I'd recommend!

Jones is solid. The due dates for everything are in MyMathLab on the first day so there are no surprises. His lectures help out a lot and hes friendly. Just do the work and try and youll be fine. Took the online class MATH 372 (algebra for precalculus). Super nice guy and very accomodating. Willing to work with you and always able to help out. No required zoom meetings. Uses MyLab Math. No more than the usual workload for a math class. The final was VERY easy. Absolutely no reason for anybody to not have an A.

This was my first class back after COVId and I’m so happy I got Professor Jones. I was really nervous but he’s casual, really nice, and super charming. He goes over everything and is really smart. It is the best professor I have ever had! He explains everything very clearly during his video lectures. All homework and tests are in MyMathLab( no proctored). Do not buy a textbook tho, you won't need it. You will need to pay for the MyMathLab app and that's it. If you study hard, you will get a good grade! good luck everybody :)

Professor Jones made me so glad I decided to come back to school. He is incredible!! He smoothly walks into the room, talks and engages us for three hours, and the next thing I know, I'm smarter. This is a three hour class three days a week, and I swear it feels like it's only 30 minutes. Professor Jones is a really cool person and makes the class interesting. One of the best professors I had for a math course, I took math 375 with the support. There are weekly quizzes. It's a difficult class but as long as you do the work you'll pass, also if you need help go to his office hours, he is there to help you. He explains everything clearly and detailed. The BEST professor at ARC! Take IN-PERSON b/c in lectures he shows us how to do all the HW. We have weekly "pop" quizzes but so far all of them have been WITH NOTES. He lets us out of class early. UNLIMITED HW attempts before the deadline and you can work ahead. And if u think ur "bad" at math, this teacher/class with change ur mind! Really nice!

I was crushed he didn't teach Calc I after having him for PreCalcTrig. I find math to be difficult. It's not easy for me. He took a very intimidating subject and made it manageable. He's encouraging when you are doubting your abilities, and I never realized how important that was until I experienced it with him.

It's only the first day of class and Professor Jones is amazing!!! I'm so glad I decided to take this class in person instead of online. He has so much energy and he's so much fun. He's not like any math teacher I have ever had. Incredibly smart, great smile, high energy, and makes everyone feel at ease. Class is well organized. Love him!!!

He's really good. His lectures are three hours long, but he keeps it interesting. He definitely knows his stuff and he seems to really want us to be successful. Laid back and easy to understand. Treats everyone nice. I would definitely take him again for any math class. Just a really good person overall and very helpful.

Professor Jones is the nicest teacher I have ever had. He's always smiling and in a good mood. I don't know how he does it. His lectures are very casual, but he's so good at answering random math questions on the spot. He seems to enjoy the material and is very cool outside of class. He's very smart and fun. I'm taking him online now, but I'm looking forward to taking him in person for Calculus. His online lectures are pretty good, but I stopped into his office hours for help and that made a huge difference. He's personable and very easy to talk to. He doesn't have the attitude a lot of professors have. Just a sweet guy and incredibly smart. I'm a fan.

Jones is awesome!! He's funny. He'll be in the middle of some crazy math lecture, then just break into some funny story about his weekend or something. Very likeable guy. He's been teaching us for 2 weeks so far and I've learned a ton. Not only does he know the subject really well, but he's very thoughtful and nice. He's a genuinely very nice person. His lectures are great and he answers every question very well. Great combination of smart and chill. I would totally hang out with him outside of class. Cool guy.

He's so funny and engaging. He is by far the nicest teacher I have ever had, in that he explains things so well without ever making anybody feel dumb. He's the friendliest guy in the world and he knows his math. Does not look or act like like a typical math professor. Just a really good person and an outstanding instructor. I love this man!!

He was sick this week and I found myself missing his class!!! I don't even like math, but he's so entertaining. He makes the material fun and explains it over and over until it makes sense. He tells great stories and can relate to us since he also went to ARC. He's excellent at what he does and is a genuinely nice person. Very sweet and caring.

Go to his office hours!!! He's a perfect mixture of laid back and totally legit at math. He just gets it!! Always smiling and always great energy. I wouldn't say he's easy, but he makes it fun and as enjoyable as it can be. His class is by far my favorite class. He talks about his wife all the time which makes me sad, but it's ok. Jones is THE guy! He is exactly the kind of professor you want to help you make the jump from Algebra to Trig. Wicked smart in his field, charismatic, funny, and could explain the same thing 5 different ways and it would make sense. He made math fun, which is a hard thing to do. Would take again, wish he taught calc in the fall.

Jones is the perfect person to teach a daunting 9-unit 3 hour 3 days a week course: he's the sweetest, most genuine guy that wants to see you succeed. I was terrified to take this course last sem but I would take it over again just to have another class with Jones next Fall. Take his class, do not worry. I kid you not, he truly made me like math..

Taking Calc 1 with Jones was amazing - def harder than Pre tho. What really helped me were his office hours, asking q's, and talking to him - he's so sweet and speaking to him one on one reflects that. Take him if you want to laugh while solving a difficult derivative, he is incredible at lightening the mood and making everyone feel comfortable.

He was great. Super entertaining and really smart. He pretty much lectures the entire time, but he makes it fun. He let us come up to the board to do problems which I didn't think I would like, but I loved it. Just a genuinely nice person with a great personality. You can tell he wants us to be successful and cares about us. I love Professor Jones!

Jones is really good. The class only meets one day a week, but I wish it was more. He explains things really well and is very sweet. You can tell he cares about us and is very helpful. He makes himself available for office hours and will also talk with you over Zoom. He's just a really cool person and very nice. He plays hockey too!!

So far, Professor Jones has been really good. I've been impressed by how much energy he has. His lectures are long but he's entertaining and very good at explaining things. Professor Jones has the patience of a saint. He'll literally go over any question you throw at him and never complain or make you feel dumb. I'm taking Professor Jones online and he's really good. His videos are great. My mom even watches them with me just because she wants to. He answers questions and has flexible office hours where he is very helpful. He makes the class fun. Next semester, I'm hoping I can take him in person since I've heard he's really good in the classroom.

I took him for Calc 1 (got a B), but got an A in Calc 2 with another professor because he prepared me. Some of us went to watch him play hockey and he was super sweet there too. Someone needs to clone this man and make 100 more.

Professor Jones is an absolute gem! He makes even the toughest math class enjoyable. His lectures are engaging, and he explains concepts clearly. unstuckstudy was a huge help for exam prep. Definitely take his class if you can.

Took his class over the summer so it was online with one in-person meet, wish it was more. He was super understanding that it is hard to learn online and held office hours weekly. He makes math fun, is handsome, and called me a gagster when I got an A on my exam. He will answer any question and offers to stay late to help. Take him if you can!

Prof Jones is THE BEST. He wants his students to do well! We had three exams and a final. I started off rough and failed the first exam. I asked for help and received so much support and opportunity to succeed! Homework is on MyMathLab with Pearson and is very helpful for practicing the material! Prof Jones is a kind person and super approachable!

Prof Jones is Awesome! I reccommend going to his office hours after every lecture to have that 1 on 1 time to ask questions and have him break down everything.

Professor Jones is amazing. This is my first math class where I think I am actually learning. I don't feel like I need to cheat to pass the class. He explains everything soooo well, I understand everything. I walk in too early in the morning with coffee and breakfast and come out feeling like an Einstein.

nice and caring, and understood when i felt nervous, it matters so much that your class talks and participates bec he's nicer to you that way, if you ask him to do a "family" quiz, he would let you, again, IF your class actively participates, just communicate, and show up!!! exams were similar to hws, a bit harder with notes, otherwise very chill

I'm taking him for MATH401. I took Calc last semester from another prof and didn't learn anything. But Professor Jones goes over everything so clearly, I'm actually understanding both classes now. He's super prepared and his notes are pristine (which he lets you take pictures of). He's so nice and so fun. I agree with everyone else. Super cool guy.

I'm taking him for PreCalculus and he's the best professor I have ever had. I hated math before, but he makes it fun. The class is 9 hours a week but it fees shorter. He's got a lot of charisma which is needed early in the morning. He's so smart and sweet, you can tell he cares about us. Apparently, he's also a really good athlete. I have a crush.

Take Prof. Jones!!! His class marked the change for me when I went from thinking I was just bad at math to being confident that I could go on and pass any future math class. At CSUS I completed Calc II and I only needed Calc I for my degree. He's a treasure. Take a class from him.

Professor Jones is the best. He made Trig enjoyable for me and really took the time to explain everything in detail. His online lectures are very good, but he'll also meet you for online office hours if you don't understand something. He has a very good personality and seems to have fun which makes it fun for the students. I hope to take him live.

*For calc II* He is so friendly and good at explaining math. His notes are super neat. My only issue was that he almost never responded to emails. However, he is super lenient, many things are done as a class, practice exams are identical to the actual test with numbers switched. HW through Pearson. Take him!

I agree with the other reviews. He talks the entire time but breaks it up with jokes or stories. This was the first time he taught Calc 2, but I thought he did a really good job. I learned a lot and enjoyed the class. He made it fun and enjoyable. He's funny and smart and seems to be a really good person. Very nice and fair. Office hours are key.

Professor Jones is the best professor you will ever take. He makes sure every student understands his lectures and makes it so easy to learn and pass the class. I was scared to take Calculus II, but he made me love it. If you can take any of his classes, just know you are lucky since you're in good hands.

I'm taking him for Precalc online. His lectures are very thorough and well explained which helps a lot. He basically explains every problem. He's also on campus a lot, so if you get the chance to meet him in person, it's very helpful. He's very nice, patient, and easy to talk to. I'm hoping to take him in person next semester.
