Class was a breeze, I barely lifted a finger for my grade. Very nice guy, rather funny at times also. Seems to be in search of the perfect "warm fuzzy." Probably an awesome Grandfather.

Vince is by far the BEST teacher I've had in the education department. I took prob. solving with him and it was the most enjoyable class I took this semester. Time flies by! There is one test, 3 projects and you actually learn HOW to teach students...not just about the theorists. LOVED HIM!

In four years at Montclair, he is my FAVORITE professor. He is such a friendly, down-to-earth guy who actually teaches you how to spark your students' interest! He is a very fair grader - just do the work and you'll be fine! If you want to learn something in the education dept. - TAKE HIM!

Professor Walencik is the man. No tests, class is fun, and you learn alot. He grades all projects and homework very toughly so make sure you put the effort into it. If your a good student you will enjoy the class.

He was a good teacher, but really creepy. He always called the girls "babe" which seemed ****ed and unprofessional. His ideas are great, but when actually implemented, are pretty unrealistic. Class was interesting, to say the least.

If you want to be an education major you need this class, and he's a good teacher to take. He has funny stories, but they get a little repetitive. All in all he's a good teacher who has tons of experience for you to learn from.

I really liked him..he has passion for education...he is nice in the beginning intiminating but he means no harm! He has a lot of work but it is all useful for teaching! He makes you think more than you thought was poss. Be creative he loves it, quizes are easy...a litle out there but he is a blast to have! You will never leave early..very rare

The coursework is not difficult but Vince is challenging and pushes you hard. Only regret is taking this during a protracted pre-summer session, where I didn't have a lot of time to take it all in and attack the material.

Vince is an inspiration to all aspiring and current teachers. You go on alot of class trips to visit diff kinds of schools. Very interesting to see the variety of learning enviornments. There is alot of work but it is easy if you are a good student who enjoys learning. He makes you think outside the box, try new things, experiment and question.

Dr. Walencik was great fun. Work was useful to taking back to a classroom, class was respectful, and grading fair. He was approachable, but clear about did not allow you to slack, turn in late work, or get by without effort. Yet, no overwhelming or tedious.

Vince is AWESOME. He's like Abbie Hoffman but in professor form-he makes it "ok" to change the world. Class was really interesting, topics were really meaningful. There's a considerable amount of work but it's pertinent to class discussions. He also played Pink Floyd-you can't ever go wrong there. Take this class-you won't be disappointed.

You go to class to learn and if you take this, you will learn important stuff. Though, I do believe he acted as if this ONE CLASS was our entire life and it sure got annoying. By far the best early childhood class I have taken at Montclair. Vince creates a positive and fun learning environment and gets everyone involved in the material. The class was 3 hours long but flew by since your constantly doing things. Great course, great professor!

Professor Vince, was one of the most interesting and innovative teacher I have ever taken. I was challenged and asked to think out of the box, I really respect his style of teaching and would recommend him to everyone. I was enrolled in his science and technology class and was able to retain and apply everything I was taught into my classroom.

Amazing professor!! Teaches you humanistic traits and what to expect as a teacher and as a current student. Easy A if you do all that he asks you to and if you complete your shadowing/community service hours in time. Would definitely recommend him anytime to anyone for any class!

Awesome teacher. He wants all of his students to do well. He has never taught younger children but you could never tell. He knows his stuff! There are papers you write almost weekly related to the book. 3 projects each worth 25% of your grade. If you do a good job with your work you should get an A. Great teacher.

Great professor. I enjoyed his class a lot and actually learned things that I can use in the future. Hard grader. 4 projects. "Focused Reading" assignments due every week which aren't hard, just annoying. Over all thought a great and interesting guy.

If you don't want to be a teacher after taking Vince's class, then you will probably never want to become a teacher. Well Dr.V was interesting guy kind of felt racially profiled at the beginning of his class but once getting past that he seemed was pretty cool. Very dedicated guy but teaching style was a little KIDDISH at times. His intentions are well though, he's very passionate about education and I really learned a lot in his class. ECEL 417 I love Professor Walenick. He is extremely kind, funny, helpful and intellectual. He makes teaching fun and you would never think that he has never taught elementary children. You'll have a few group projects but they all are helpful especially if you have him because you student teaching. One of the best teachers at MSU!

Vince is very relaxed and easy going. Grades easy, and an extremely nice man. Loved going to class no matter how tired I was at the end of the day. He does require attendance, but it certainly isn't a chore. Probably one of the nicest professors at Montclair. Hope I get to have him again!

Vince is a funny, energetic professor who knows a lot about teaching. I'm almost done with his class and I'm still kind of unsure what the class itself was about, and that's not necessarily a knock on him. We just covered a huge amount of information, and most of it was dispensed in a very informal lecture style. Awesome teacher, great guy!

Vince was certainly the best professor I had at MSU. The most valuable aspect of this course was that he encourages creativity in your lesson planning, a skill which will of course serve you well in your student teaching and beyond. A mustmustmust take!

Legit caring and cool teacher however his style was not to my taste. He's constantly putting you into little group work and it gets confusing and after a while stupid and useless. Repeats information over to the point of it being annoying. Honestly, most of the course is teaching you common sense which if you don't already know, that's sad.

Vince is a crazy old man who is extremely passionate about teaching. He wants the best for all of his students and really believes in everyone. There are a lot of projects so be prepared to spend some serious cash in this class. The work load is a lot but its a level 400 class so it is expected. Overall, he's fair and knowledgable.

Professor Walencik is engaging and challenging. He incites students to think rather just sit and listen to lectures. If you want to sit and listen to lectures, go home and read some pages and then write it all up, this is NOT the professor for you. He is a facilitator encouraging students to define the class. I highly recommend Professor Walencik!
