This guy is insanely hard. He's mainly into research and only teaches every few years. I have never made a C in a class in my life and make few B's. I have an F in this class. I have looked at a friends old tests from Hill and would have A's on those.
Total jerk, Class was hard. Came across as a nice guy, but with only two tests and a final it makes getting a good grade either very easy or very hard... in this case it was hard. I think many will fail this class
I am a nursing student with a 3.8 GPA taking this class as an elective to get in Anesthesia school, and these are the hardest tests I have ever taken. He is rude, unhelpful, unclear, and in all a HORRIBLE teacher...drop the class.
This teacher enjoys making things rediculously hard. He has later admitted to mistakes on tests, which are all fill in the blanks. People were almost crying during his final. This semester I made all A's, and a D in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
DO NOT TAKE!!! There is nothing else to say!
Get out of there asap. I heard of so many people failing the class and I thought it was just them. Oh, I was so wrong. There are at least 5 people in my chem. 1040 class that failed and are on their second time around.
He gave us his notes and old exams to study from, I really don't understand the other comments
used power point in class so you didn't learn anything-did not teach how to do problems at all
i took this class as my science because it is supposed to be an easy A for non-science majors. he was a total jerk and did not teach he just read from his power point presentations. class is not hard but it is very easy to fail. i would not take him.
He makes this easy. He tells you what to read and all his questions are from his over heads. If your a slacker i understand how you would fail, but this class is not hard at all. Also, he offers study sessions where he practically goes over the tests.
Not so fun :(
Worst teacher i've ever had, jerk, if you asked a question he would make you feel stupid, not helpful, teaches from power point, how do you learn chemistry from power point i don't know
doesn't teach just reads off of his power point presentations, very unclear, tests are by far the hardest i've ever had!
He is such an awful teacher. He makes you feel so stupid when you ask him a question and he is very ****. His power point presentations are horrible and he doesn't know how to teach at all! SWITCH CLASSES! Enough said!
I learned a lot from a power point presentation every class (sarcasm if you didn't know). Don't even bother wasting your time on this laser pointer obsessed teacher.
This teacher is very hard and unwilling to help in anyway if raising a grade is in your best interest. i suggest no one take this class if he is the teacher.
He is such a jerk. He thinks that the whole class is stupid. He is very arrogant, and teaches only from the power points. However, he does give practice exams to study from, you just have to deal with the attitude.
Somebody needs to tell this man that this class is for people who do not need science and are not good at it. He teaches entirely from powerpoint and his tests are hard and ambiguous.
he doesn't teach at all. hardly any examples. tests are very hard
well i'm taking chemistry again. he is a a pain when it comes to talking to, can't teach, and 75% of the class failed. turn back while you can. worst teacher i have ever had he should be fired.
passionate about what he teaches, not very friendly when you approach him for help, but does explain material well if you go to class.. i also dont like how he is very sarcastic
this teacher is horrible! All he does is lecture over his dumb over heads that are already on the internet any ways. This class is a waste of time and life! Then you get the quizes that are so off the chart they are unbearable. DROP THIS CLASS
HE IS REDICULOUS! I studied like crazy and got my first 'B'-he makes you feel stupid. I did not learn a single thing in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!

sucks. i have taken chem 1040 twice thanks to this guy. he sucks at teaching this stuff. dont get him.
He is completely an illusion. He gives notes, acts friendly, then you see his tests that are not from notes or the book. Asking for help is like being verbally attacked for even suggesting that he did not explain it well. This is the only D I have ever made in college, and most people I know made Fs
Good prof. EASY GRADE SCALE. Answers questions in class. Online quizes that you get an automatic 60% for just submitting. Lots of power point, important stuff in blue. Best thing about his class is the previous exams he posts on WebCT, questions similar, just different numbers. If i had to take chem again he'd be my 1st choice
Do not get him if at all possible. He loves to make it seem like his job is extremely important and dangerous. He also thinks he's funny. He makes no sense and isn't very good at explaining anything. There are way better chem professors!
Dr. C is a very smart professor, so he knows what he is talking about. Some people had a really hard time grasping the concepts. Just take notes, do homework problems, and study. Not that difficult. I made it out with an A.
I really dont know why all these people dont like him, he helps you whenever you need it and he is really a good guy. Just show up to take notes and study every now and then and its easy, I passed with an A. If you ever have any problem with him go ask him for help, hes very good at one on one help.
Yeah, Dr. C can be a jerk in class, but he is very personable in his office. This IS a class you have to work for and if you slack you will fail. He does put old tests on Web CT for you to use. He is a very good teacher no matter what the other comments say. If you are a lazy person you will fail this class(and any other chemistry class)
This class is sooo easy. I slept through every single class and just looked at the previous exams that he posts on the night before the test and made an A. He is really cool and ended up giving me a point to give me an A
I did really well on his many quizzes. He gives you two chances for each quiz so after you take the first one and fail really badly, you can study and take it on webCT later. I studied really hard for the final and thought I mastered it but I ended up with a B anyway. It if you are any good at chemistry and are willing to study, you will succeed.
He's really not as bad as some people make him out to be. I went to see him several times before tests and he was very helpful. He posts old exams on WebCT. He's even given bonus points on some of the tests. I thought the class was going to be daunting at first, but it's very do-able.
Dr. Cammarata is really a GREAT teacher. He posts old test, which are extremely similar to the actual test and he has quizzes which can boost your grade. He gives you every opportunity to do well, but you have to do the homework and put some effort into it, but if you do, you'll do fine!! I had an A with little trouble! He's really a good teacher.
Dr. C is not that bad!!! I miss him and his class! He spoiled me with the WebCT quizzes-he may give a buttload of them and a lot of homework, but they are so helpful! He give you two chances to take the quizzes and in class, gives a lot of notes, but you do not really even have to study them. He gives you an old test before every test to study by,
Dr. C was, by far, the most useful professor my freshman year. I am no chemist in the making, but Cammarata certainly does his best to make sure the students get the material. The quizzes/homework on WebCT are very helpful. He posts old exams to help the students prepare for the tests. Attendance is not mandatory, but GO TO CLASS.
Class is really easy. Tests are pretty basic and there is usually a decent curve. Made above a 100% on the final with little studying. I did have AP Chemistry experience going in but as long as you give a little effort the class is definitely doable.
Dr. C is a GREAT professor. He is really knowledgeable of what he is teaching and he is CRYSTAL clear when explaining course materials. Extremely helpful. Best chemistry teacher in auburn.
Dr. C knows his stuff, but as far as helping you understand the material, expect to be in the library a lot. You definitely have to work at it, and if you try to reach him at his office its not easy in the least bit. He said he would be in during certain times before the final but never was. He only gave 2 test and the final but a lot of quizzes.
He teaches entirely from powerpoints and assigns hw that he claims will help on quizzes but when you look at quizzes they are nothing like the hw problems. He gives 2 tries for the quiz, but averages the two grades so if you bomb the first one and ace the second one,you still get a bad grade. Not a fair grader.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!! DO NOT TAKE HIM
He's a research professor so he really only teaches in the summer so he can research during the fall and spring terms. Don't take him. He loads tests chapters worth of stuff. He takes attendance so you need to go to class.
Dr. Cammarata's class was pretty easy. He uploads a practice test to blackboard which is formatted just like the real tests. Just doing those and actually understanding some of the concepts and you'll get a B easy. A C in this class is a 60-75 though so he doesn't scale tests. I would absolutely take him again if he was teaching any chem classes.
Very good professor. Easy to understand. Attendance is not mandatory but he does iclicker quizes during class. He has problem sessions throughout the semester. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
An above average teacher. His tests are REALLY similar to the tests he posts online. He does go off on tangents and tell us the history of the particular element he is talking about.-"Molybdenum was discovered blah and is used in various blahs." But he works problems and answers all questions seriously... no matter how stupid they were.
Class is boring, quizzes every week, Clicker questions everyday for attendance and correctness. Cammarata is alright. Super smart guy. The class itself is kind of hard, but he tries to make it better. Two exams and a final. Go to review sessions because the practice test is very similar to the actual test.
Definitely a super smart guy, but always willing to help students. Two exams and a final which are super similar to the practice exams he posts online which he works out for you at review sessions. Go to review sessions! You also get to bring a flashcard with notes for the exams and a whole sheet of paper for the final. Easy A. Not a lot of work.
Cammarata is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He doesn't care about his students at all and is not willing to help no matter how much we beg. The tests are just like the practice tests, but he only works about 2 problems and wants to go home. He wont even give us the final answers to see if we are even getting it. Do not take him.
Dr. Cammarata is by far the poorest professor I have ever taken at Auburn University. I am not saying this because I got a poor grade in his course either (I got a B, which I deserved). Do everything within your power to avoid this professor because he legitimately does not care about his students or whether they succeed.
Awful. He was the poorest professor I have ever had. You have to go to the class for just clicking the iClicker. you can not learn too much. There were some errors in his powerpoints. He didn't give us the even the answer keys of the final practice test. He doesn't care the students and their scores at all. Do not take him.
Class isn't mandatory, but he gives clicker questions for points. A quiz is due every week. You get to use a notecard for each exam and two for the final.
His lectures drag on a little bit and are a little boring, but if you go to class he will tell you what isn't essential to know from the powerpoints. Go through the powerpoints to see all his examples and study them. Go to his review sessions and have him work out the practice test. Office hours are essential. He is really helpful one-on-one.
Dr Cammarata is a good professor. He is really helpful, even your questions that are not related to the materials that he teaches in class, he is willing to answer them. His test is not easy but not hard neither. He gives his previous tests as study guides to you and the tests he has for us were really similar to his previous tests.
Love him. This was the first time he did a reverse classroom approach, so he never lectured in class. Not sure if he's going to continue doing it, but I think he's great. If you show up to class and take notes from the videos he posts, the tests are a breeze. Easy and pretty fun class.
He focused a lot on how to do things in excel even though that was never a part of any test which was kind of annoying. Some of the quizzes can be hard but he gives two tries. He lets you use a cheat sheet on the tests and also gives you old tests to study. Most of the questions come from in class work so the tests were never too hard.
Pretty easy class, but he posts the lectures online and speaks at appx 1 word per second with over an hour's worth of videos to watch before each class. Ended up watching at double speed most of the time with the audio muted. Tends to go over useless application and excel stuff in the videos which he doesn't even test on.
class is boring. lecture videos are awful. his tests are totally non conceptual. just know how to do the practice tests and make a good formula sheet and you can make a 100. tests are easy final is hard. 88 is an A. loves to talk about global warming and how trump is ruining the environment.
The last 3 posts pretty much sum it up. Alright guy, but class wasn't the best. Found the videos pretty boring and very long. Seemed like I always had one (or two, or three) to watch before class. Tests were straight up like the in class problems and old tests. No conceptual questions. Excel work in class won't be on tests. Not very patient. Made A
Flipped classroom style. He gives out his old test as study guide and the real test seem to be more or less exactly the same. He's helpful if you go to his office hours too, so if you're having trouble I recommend that. Drops your lowest quiz and homework grades which helps out a lot towards the end.
Dr. C is great. Gives you old exams for practice. If you do these and really know how to do them you will make an A on every test. Super helpful in class. Make sure you watch the videos and take goods notes for video quizzes everyday. They can really help you out. Group work is required but helpful since you need to learn how to work the problems.
Honestly, if you do your work, you're gonna get an A. DON'T SKIP CLASS!! He takes attendance silently to himself. The tests are just like the study guides.
You have to put in work to pass the class. He is helpful at office hours to go over what you missed on your exam. Review his practice exams and you should do fine on the exams! Really not that bad of a class.
I would absolutely recommend this class and Dr. C to a friend. It's a flipped classroom, but it actually works here. Class time is spent on group work problems that are the same difficulty as test problems. In class and out of class quizzes that are both easy points. Takes attendance! 88% is an A. Overall, very fair class and nice guy. Take him.
This is his first year teaching Honors Gen Chem at Auburn. Horrible. The flipped classroom style does not work with the content he is teaching, or I should probably say, not teaching. We need a teacher who lectures in class so we don't rely on error-prone videos that are quirky, nonsensical, and nonlinear.
It's a flipped classroom style, but I feel like he makes it very difficult to ask questions on the videos. The work we do in class is often not discussed in the videos. He's very smart, but isn't the best at teaching. He seems to think that since it's an honors class, we should know everything already. Daily quizzes on videos so watch them!!
Do not recommend at all, even though he is the only professor for honors chem. The flipped classroom style does not work for this course. The video lectures aren't helpful, if anything just more confusing. Not sure if the textbook is helpful either. Best outside resource is the learning assistants (LAs) since there is no SI for this course
Flipped classroom- he posts lectures for us to watch before class, short quiz on video material at beginning of class, work problems in class- not a great option for this class. Dr. C seems to make this class more difficult than it has to be. In the videos he often goes off on unrelated tangents. Tests on things not covered in videos or in class.
You should definitely do the in class work thoroughly if you take his honors chem class. The flipped classroom style is terrible here, and the videos are boring and of no help. It's a class you can do well in if you're already very good at chemistry and work hard on the material, though his tests sometimes have curveballs thrown in.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. He is pretentious and unwilling to answer questions unless you come to office hours. I barely managed to scrape by with a C. He frequently asks questions on his tests that he never taught and assumes everyone has taken AP chem.
Dr. C is a brilliant man, but he may not have been the right guy to teach introductory chemistry. FLIPPED CLASSROOM: all lectures are online (and absolute bores) and has to be watched for the quizzes in every class. Gives practice tests that are similar to exams, but always throws in a question that was never seen in class before, so beware.
Daily quizzes, 1-3 video lectures per class, sections to read, and in-class problems. The exams are difficult, but they were on par with classwork. Quizzes really saved my grade. Sometimes he is long winded, but he is knowledgeable. An email or going to his office hours is very helpful. This is not an easy A.
The flipped classroom wasn't really the best set up for this class with all the lectures outside of class. These were very time consuming to watch but they didn't need to be. There is no SI sessions for this class either. There were 3 major tests and practice tests were very helpful.
Has the flipped teaching style where you watch lecture videos at home and work problems with groups in class. A chill guy, but not great at explaining things. He went on tangents about cool things happening with science during class a lot, which is neat sometimes and annoying at other times. Gives a pretty good study guide before each exam.
Personally I DO NOT recommend. Brilliant chemist and nice enough guy, but wasn't good at communicating difficult concepts to intro- level chem students. Attendance pretty mandatory because of daily quizzes and lecture videos for homework before every class. Lots of practice problems and a study guide, but extremely difficult exams so be careful.
I took honors so his normal chem class might be a little different. His class was good though. It's an inverted classroom but its nice because you spend a lot of time doing problems in class. You don't always have to read either as his videos are pretty thorough. He gives intersting lectures and goes on tangents a lot. He is also very accesible.
This is now my second semester with Dr. C, a very good teacher but with flipped classes. Originally I wasn't a fan of flipped classes but Dr. c makes it worth it. Usually 20-40 minutes of video lectures before each class with problems worked in groups during class. Gives practice exams before each individual exam (not the final).
If you're like me and prefer lectures in class, don't take this class. He makes you watch videos outside of class and then makes you do practice in class. I hated every day of this class.
Dr. C has been my favortite professor of all time. He is a great teacher who is inspires his students. I did not take chemistry before college, and I made an A in Chem 1 and Chem 2 thanks to Dr. C. He uses flipped classroom which I appriciated because it allowed us to do problems in-class. Tests material is exactly like in-class problems and quizes
Expects you to teach yourself then spends most of class talking about completely unrelated things.
Dr. C was great. It was a flipped classroom, so we watched videos the night before and worked problems during class. Every class started out with a "RAT" quiz on the videos. All of our quizzes and tests were open notes, and very similar to the practice exams he gave out. A really cool and smart guy, solid choice for CHEM 1110 or 1117.
His test problems were so difficult and so wordy that they would take me forever to do them and because of that I often wouldn't finish. Plus the flipped classroom with watching the lectures outside of class didn't work for me.
Dr. C has a flipped classroom. I usually like this setup, but he would post several long lecture videos per night (1 hour of videos per night, took 2 hours to watch and take notes) which made it difficult to keep up. His tests required you to have a very deep understanding of the material, and were more difficult than work done in class.
Nice guy and if you go to class and do your work it is a pretty easy class overall. Dr. C is a menace.
The worst decision I ever made taking Dr. C's class first semester freshman year. The classroom is flipped so he expects 90% of the work for the class to be done not IN class. When we are in class, he blows through material as if we are on the same level as him. He is not approachable by email, just answers in short stand-off ways.
Dr. C could care less if you pass or fail, I emailed him asking to look over my exam as well as help for the next one and he completely ignored my ask for help and told me in the shortest way possible to submit a grade request through grade scope. Very rude and uncaring.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. Unless you come from a top rich smart high school that prepares you for college level chemistry you will do great, otherwise then don't , he can rude often times, his tests are so hard you have to watch YouTube videos, because he excepts us to know everything as soon as you walk into class. its all flip
Extremely difficult unless you have a very strong background coming into chem. Weekly homework assignments and bi-weekly tests. He expects you to learn everything from reading the textbook and watching his videos. Hard to learn math-based information from a book and his videos are slow and often irrelevant. Hard to get the information you need.
Dr. C is a fine professor hes just pretty rude. Its a flipped classroom so it kinda sucks. Tests are either really hard or really easy. No in between.
The test review problems are not that helpful to prepare your exams.
I took AP Chemistry in high school so this class was really easy. He makes it easy to understand because he works problems in class and shows you how to answer it. He makes sure to answer everyone's questions and his tests are easy as well. If you want an A, do the homework, ask questions, and get help.
Dr. C is a great professor. He has a flipped classroom, but nothing is impossible. Just watch his videos with all of your attention and do your own research on the topic and you'll be fine! Test questions are very reasonable and easy to make simple mistakes! He will also replace the lowest test grade. He is always accessible on office hours!
Classroom is flipped so you watch videos before class and go over practice problems during class. Tests are very hard and go over a lot of material. Take lot of notes from his videos. I attended a few of his office hours and he was very helpful. He went over my previous exams and what I did wrong. If you work hard and study an A is possible.
Chemistry is a hard class, it isn't going to be easy but I think Dr.C does a good job at going through the material with practice problems. It is a flipped classroom but if you watch the videos, you should be fine. Tests are just like practice problems but sometimes can be a little harder. You just have to try and work hard, an A isn't given. free.
Excellent teacher, loved this man! Very clear and in detail when teaching and will answer any and all questions. Flipped classroom, but it worked really well, just make sure to watch the lecture videos. They're long and he talks slow, so I used to do x1.5 speed. Attendance not required, but you NEED to go.
He does a flipped classroom, which sucks, but he talks slow so if you put it on 2x speed it only takes like 30 minutes a day. He does daily quizzes and classwork. He is not as bad as everyone says. As long as you do the work in class and actually study a mid to high A is easily attainable.
Dr. C is honestly a great teacher but his class is flipped, so you take notes outside of class on his videos and go over the problems in class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you NEED to go if you want to understand what's going on. You can get an A in his class if you're willing to put in extra time outside of class.
Cammarata uses a flipped classroom. He posts lecture videos for you to watch before each class, and then in class you have a three-question quiz that he will go over and practice problems. The tests are half multiple choice and half free response. I enjoyed the class but many of my peers hated him and hated his class.
The class itself is extremely hard which is not his fault. However, he chooses the most complicated ways to teach the criteria and he is very quaint with his responses when you ask for help. Be prepared to do a lot of studying and work o your own time in order to not just get a good grade, but pass the class in general.
Flipped classroom suck and his videos don't teach you much. He's not very good at explaining things and doesn't respond to emails often. You basically have to teach yourself everything. The RATs and Problems will be a good grade buffer for tests.
Honestly Professor Cammarata was very rude and not that helpful. His lectures did not accurately prepare me for his final exam. He almost never answered emails and when he did it was very unhelpful. If you are in his class, good luck.
I really liked Mr. C. He actually cares when you approach him and ask him questions when you don't understand. However, make sure you do the assigned reading/videos before class, or the lectures can be hard to understand. Use the resources given to your advantage. Take notes in and out of class. Don't be afraid to ask questions! He really cares :)
Cammarata's flipped class isn't very suitable for learning. He provides videos, and this basically is the replacement of him teaching. I think he's very condescending at times to people, especially when asking questions. The class is pretty straightforward, but I feel as if I only have an A currently because I took AP Chemistry in high school.
The class is taught on a flipped schedule which means you will be spending A LOT of time working on it outside of class on top of weekly homework. Exams are difficult, but not impossible if you put in the time for studying. Dr. C expects students to at least have a decent understanding of chem. DO NOT take if you have a weak chemistry foundation.
I really liked Dr.C. He is very passionate and knowledgeable in what he teaches. This class is pretty difficult but Dr.C does his best to make sure everyone understands it. He is always open to questions and is pretty fair when grading exams. If you study and do the daily assignments you will be good but don't expect an easy A.
Be VERY careful w/ this class. Flipped, videos get lengthy and hard to keep up w/. 3 tests are medium-hard difficulty and simple mistakes can easily tank a grade. Attendance not mandatory, but go bc you take a lecture quiz in class and he goes over lots of problems. Replaces lowest exam grade w/ final. Gives formula sheet for exams.
He has a flipped classroom, meaning that you watch videos about the material at home then you come in to class to do problems. It is helpful, but he often goes down rabbit holes talking about material that you do not need to know for the class and it gets confusing. Go to class to get participation otherwise you are doing the problems on your own.
Super difficult class and this professor did not help. Gave no extra credit and the tests were not scaled either. SI was a freshman that did not do a good job preparing material. You could study for days and still make a D or C on the exam.
Although I didn't really do the best in this class, I still enjoyed going to class. He really isnt a bad professor, it was just my own fault for not watching the videos that he posted. It is a flipped classroom so that is a pretty essential part of the class.
This class is very tough but definitely possible to get a good grade if you put in the work. It is a flipped classroom which is tough sometimes because the videos are very long. Professor Cammarata is very passionate about the topics but sometimes expects more than possible but the test aren't too hard if you study.
I wouldn't be worried if you get this guy, but hes definitely not the best out there. He gets the job done well enough but I had to learn a lot of stuff myself. He is a character in class though, doesn't really have a filter.
ONLY REASON I got an A is because I took AP chem in highschool. If I didn't, I'm not sure how I can get a B or higher without prior knowledge of chemistry. Overcomplicates topics that are simple and goes off topic frequently. Tests are fairly easy though. Kinda toxic too. Assumed that no one watched his videos because HE forgot to post a video.
Dr. C isn't the worst chemistry professor at Auburn, but his class requires extra effort compared to the others. He often gets sidetracked during lectures and has a flipped classroom setup. He also posts a lot of homework for a flipped classroom. Not awful, but I would try to get a different professor. Only received an A after 48+ hours studying.
good teacher
This professor did not give good practice leading up to test and did not allow for good preparation leading up to test. The average for the test was a 50% and he did not curve. His grading on test was also extremely difficult and the only practice you are given outside of class is mastering chemistry.
Do not take! I have gotten A's in every science class at auburn but had to withdraw from his class. He does not care about students doing well, and does not teach AT ALL. More than half the class has dropped already because he is that awful. The averages on all of the exams were F's and yet he still wouldn't curve. Not nice in office hours either.
I LOVE Chemistry and have always had high motivation to do my chem work--until I took this class w Dr. C. If I didn't take AP Chem in highschool I think I would've dropped. For some reason I feel like he has sucked all my love of chemistry out of me and then threw it out the window.
Be prepared to know everything about chemistry before you take him. No notes or lectures worth attending. Does online quiz every day and 2 problems with no explanation.
Literally take anyone BUT this professor. I can't even explain the stress his class put me through. He is insensitive towards his students and literally sets his student up for failure. He does not want to see you succeed, he has an extreme ego problem. Worst "professor" of my entire college career.
If you are one of the unfortunate souls that has to take this "professor", get ready to teach yourself EVERYTHING. You will have to spend hours each week teaching yourself the material to make it. This teacher changed the entire trajectory of my college career and plans. PLEASE take anyone but him.
this man is an insult to auburn university. seriously made me question the credibility of this "university" after taking his class, considering auburn would hire him and allow him to be in charge of a course at all. Do NOT take this class. he is prob the reason i wont get into med school. hes the worst run for your life
The class is tough, but Cammarata's lectures can be engaging if you engage with the material. Definitely take advantage of Unstuck study and the free textbook to stay on top of the content.
Worst professor I have ever taken. He does a flipped classroom where you spend 30 minuets of your time watching him stumble thorough a "lecture" that does not help you understand the material. Then in class, you take a quiz on the lecture then "work through" problems where he gives you 10 minuets to do it on your own then rushes thorough the answer.
did not wear my seatbelt in the car or look either way when crossing the street in hopes i would die so that i wouldnt have to go to his class.
Does not teach, makes no sense, verify difficult
Dr. Cammarata does flipped lecture so not for everyone but if you pay attention and practice it is doable. The class is decently challenging and he can be a bit boring/get distracted so fair warning. Nothing about this professor that stands out as notably good or bad.
take this class if you want to be the one to teach yourself everything and love 5 hour long homework assignments. prof is a cool dude though
He posts a few videos, adding up to around an hour before each class, and then does practice problems in class. I never watched a single video and found myself just doing the in-class practice problems on my own. He spends too much time on each problem and makes them more difficult than they really are. His tests were not bad at all, however.
Flipped classroom. GO TO SI and you are chillin!! he posted videos before every class as the lecture, I don't think anyone watches them after the first exam. He is so sarcastic, hilarious and great person but it is a hard class. He is so smart and knows what he is doing so I wish it wasn't flipped. The practice exam is just like the actual exam.
as a freshman at auburn, this class genuinely prevented me from having a social life. professor makes it ten times harder than it needs to be, and it was always much harder than the other chem classes at the same level. he expects very much out of you- and you pretty much have to teach yourself it all. he does not care whether or not you succeed.
This teacher made me genuinely go insane. I spent hours going to the SI sessions and tutoring just to bomb the tests. On one of our tests 1 out of 130 student got a question right and he blamed it on us not knowing the material. I had to teach myself everything in this class. Save your grade and do not take him
I would rather get run over by tiger transit than take this class again. You have to watch videos to teach yourself the material but it doesn't help at all. This was the worst class ive ever taken. As a freshman and someone that does not do well teaching my self, find another professor. I recommend trying to get another professor.
this class consumed my social life, if you are an unlucky soul who has to take this class, go to SI. it was the only thing that actually taught me (shoutout my girl loryn) don't watch the videos they are useless watch the organic chemistry tutor instead. The practice problems are very much like the test.
I was not ready for how hard this guy makes the class seem. He is horrible at teaching and expects us to teach ourselves, then during class, all he'll do is practice problems. I heard many great things about the other chemistry teacher and how much easier that course is ( This doesn't take into account the standardized final everyone takes).
This teacher just barely taught in his classes. He would only solve homework and asked students to read a textbook chapter and also watch videos he made BEFORE class which meant 1-2 hours of work even before class started. He never lectured and honestly just made learning chemistry even harder than it already is.
His class isn't horrible, but I will say that no one in our class was prepared for our final exam at all. No amount of studying would've prepared me. His tests aren't too hard, and he gives random quizzes after you take notes. He does flipped lectures which aren't really my thing, and he works out problems in class.
Don't listen to the reviews, this guy is great. His tests are pretty easy. I forgot a lot of homeworks and had an 89.2 at the end of the semester and he rounded my grade up to an A. His teaching style is a lot different than highschool so I get why people say it's so hard. But I definitely recommend.
