Definitely get this prof!!

She is an amazing prof! Stats is a hard course, and she made it seem relatively easy... Very easy to understand! I recommend her to anyone taking stats!!

She is a nice person, but she does not have mastery in the subject of Fin360. She explained the materials in a way like Math I think.. She does not make the exam but she is helpful for that. People might be confused in a way since she did not talk about important points for the exams..

I was in Bill Flecther's class for 4 months and he did not know my name. Mrs. Mishra helped me once and remembered my name. Great professor. When professor's know your name it makes you feel special.

She is very helpful and clearly explains the material. In my opinion, she is the best FIN 360 prof at SMU.

One of the best profs I had first year, very very helpful, nice and understanding. And you can actually understand what shes says, I think that everyone who can should switch into her class.

Obviously she can't give you the exact problems in the midterm/final but give her a sample problem to work on and she'll show you how to do it. It's not hard to get an A +/- in this course, just participate in class and you'll learn everything you need for the assignments and tests. Assignments are similar to the midterm and final.

She is easy to understand, & offers help whenever you need it. I would not have taken this class with anyone else. She made the class interesting and made it bearable for those who are not that great at math.

This was a great class. If you go to every class and ask questions when you need help an A is VERY achievable. I did the sample mid-term and the finals for practice and got in the A-A+ range. Just make sure you do all the assignments and you will do great. You either want to take Mishra or Wang for this class. I will be looking for Mishra for 2207.

Very good teacher. Very helpful. Very pretty. Tough class however, but the teacher is great. I would recommend her for your MGSC. Only downfall, teachers different from other professors, so she uses slightly different formulas, and a different technique. But still very good.

amazing prof. if you do not understand the material, i highly recommend you see her during her office hrs, that is what helped me out the most. she is very friendly and gives positive encouragement. she is very clear as to what is expected. Her help on assignments was always a big help. I would definatly suggest taking her class.

great professor!!!! explains everythin fully and gives excellent examples. she provides extra help sessions before the midterm and final, and gives help with all of the assignments. i definately would reccomend her as a professor!

she is very helpful. She tends to be fast to teach, but her lecture note is so clear, and you just have to go over her note to understand the material although you need to practice some practice problems. She is informative and willing to help your questions .

Very easy and eager to help, but tends to be quite clueless. Make WAY too many mistakes. Teaches the wrong thing, and realizes it when it has started to make sense to everyone. Definitely needs to follow her notes to avoid confusion.

mishra is a great teacher and she is gorgeous. she makes the class interesting and she is really easy too look at.

I found this class very hard in the beginning and did really bad on the midterm ( got a 56%). I went to every class and studied my butt off to get over a 90% on the final so she wouldn't count the midterm, and it worked :) Had her before and would take all of her classes, amazing prof!!

Excellent professor. Very personable and easy to approach. Will stay after class to help you or will set up a tutorial with no problem at all. Highly recommend her. Also very fair. If you feel slighted by a mark, talk to her, and she'll sort it out.

I am a foreign student and I liked her class. she was very clear and easy to follow. the midterm was hard but she gave us more time. i guess some people are not happy about getting extra time for an exam, what a loser.

She was one of my favorite profs I've had! If you go to all the classes and approach her for extra help when needed you'll do fine. Midterm marks were bad, but she agreed to make the final work 90% if it helped our mark and it was more straight forward. She is really easy to listen to. Overall a great class and make me decide to persue finance.

Shes nice, but her voice is sooo monotone, omg. when she just lectures, its gets soo boring! i could take a nap when it comes to mark, shes tough, sometimes snippy. coutteau is by far the best finance prof. anyone should take her, if not, take vinita. but prepare to go to sleep.

Great professor, very clear explanations and helpful notes! She is a very nice lady and always willing to help you if you make the time to go see her. She isn't rude but is straight forward, no sugarcoating. If you make the effort to understand the concepts as you go, your fine. I have always struggled in math and this is my highest mark to date!

I really enjoyed this class. Even though sometimes it was so slow I just wanted to fall asleep, she is very clear and wants everyone to be good with what she's teaching. A lot of helpful extra material, if you do your work you'll be just fine!

Great teacher! I've never been that great at math but in her class I am doing better in university than I did in high school. She is by far the best professor I've has this semester.

AMAZING! I usually don't consider myself that great at math nor am I that interested in it. However, she made the class so interesting and easy to understand that I found it to be my favourite class and myself looking forward to it. Always available to help students. Definitely get into one of her classes if you have the pleasure to.

Best prof for Quant 1, she knows her stuff inside and out. She is helpful, knows how to teach and she wants her students to do well. You don't even need the textbook just go to class, take notes, ask her questions, do the assignments and you'll pass. She's an awesome prof!

Vinita is an absolute gem. Takes the time to make sure each student understands the material behind the topic she is teaching. Wish I could have her for every class.

Amazing! Math is so easy with her explaining it!

Vinita is really sweet, there to help you in class and encourages you see her in office hours. 1206 was a lot harder than 1205 so expect to have to work harder. There are pop quizzes so you have to attend class, and you learn a lot more in class than you can from the book. The final was really hard and made by a different prof which was horrible!

Good luck trying to find a better prof. Enough said. She's the best.

If you're not good at math, take her class. She breaks things down into simpler terms and is very patient with her students. Incredibly friendly and hey, she's not too bad looking either. Honestly she's everything you would want in a prof teaching a mandatory first year course.

Vinita Mishra is the best prof I've had so far. She is very clear and if you don't understand, just ask and she will do whatever it takes for you to understand it. She is super friendly and if I have the chance to get her as a prof again I would definitely take her. Highly recommend her.

Professor Mishra was one of my favourite professors this semester. She was clear and gave good explanations. I found she could overcomplicate some of the easy things sometimes but not really a bad thing, just made some days a bit boring. If you ask for help she's more than willing to stay later. I would definitely take another course with her.

After having countless tough courses throughout my Commerce degree, you really appreciate the gems that made hard material easier to understand. Mishra is one of these professors. What a difference having her as a prof makes, compared to some of the other duds at SMU (I'm looking at you, Saagh!) Take anything and everything you can with her!

She's amazing, because of her i wanted to take finance as my major. Wish she could have taught all my quant and finance classes. Taking notes is crucial to passing. wont move on until the entire class understands

She is an amazing prof. she is very considerate and will do anything to help you even provided me with her phone number the weekend for an exam so i could call her and she could explain the question rather than trying to understand her. If i could take every business math with her i would. Don't pass up on her if you have the chance. You will pass

I am still in class, have not received my grade yet, but I absolutely love her teaching style. For the first time in 2 years, I didn't feel nervous to do a midterm involving math, and I am confident I did very well. You do need to work on your own as well, probably 8-10 extra hours a week if you struggle in math. She can not do the work for ya.

The Best Professor ever!!!

Dr. Mishra is the first professor which actually can explain the reasoning behind why we use those silly formulas. I've failed Finance in the past and came to it with a better work ethic and now I'm expecting a grade no lower than an A. Work hard, ask questions, and stay engaged in class. Finance I does not have to be the toughest SMU BComm Course!

Prof Mishra is honestly the best! This was my second time taking finance after getting a D with another prof and with minimal effort I got an A+ with Mishra. She takes her time to make sure her students really understand everything, and makes her own notes that are clear to understand. Showing up to class and participating is key!

I had her for the summer finance course which I needed before starting the fall semester. She was great, humorous and simplified everything in class. She provided practice questions and assignments, which if you did the work, you would get the desired grade. I wish I could have her for my other finance class!

Awesome prof. She is very engaged in her teaching and really wants her students to succeed. Always receptive to questions in class and happy to help during office hours or by email. She also booked a lecture room for 2 days before the final, after classes we finished, to review material. No complaints!

If you don't like speaking out in class I would not recommend Mishra as she will make you answer questions out loud, and will poke fun if you give a stupid answer. If that's not a problem for you she's a good prof. Easy to approach after class and gives lots of good review.

I owe my success in this class to this professor. Her lectures are interesting, engaging and easy to follow. She encouraged asking questions and always answered them clearly. I have always struggled with math but did well in this class because of this prof. Very personable and always willing to help during office hours.

Go to class, do the problems and get good grades. It's as simple as that. Vinita Mishra is an amazing prof, she goes the extra mile to make you understand something. Stats is extremely easy if you go to class and take notes.

Stats is not simple, however Vinita does a fantastic job of breaking it down and making it manageable. This is NOT a passive class. You must be prepared to do lots of practicing on your own and put in the time. If you attend, pay attention and do the work and have Vinita as a prof, it's possible to do extremely well.

Definitely show up to class and take notes. She only does practice problems, but it gives you a clear idea on how to approach the problems. She cold-called people during class and was a bit condescending at times, but one on one she is approachable, friendly, and patient if you treat her with respect.

Explains stats very well and makes sure you understand it. If you need any help, she'll give it to you. She's great for all students. She doesn't upload any notes so you do need to go to class but if you go you'll get it.

I took Stats with Vinita. If you think that Quant or Stats will be had courses for you, ensure you get her class. She is the BEST prof. She explains the work to ensure you get it, always available during office hours and very personable and caring. She seems genuinely concerned that you get the best grade you can. Study, listen in class and do well

Definitely, one of the best prof's at SMU. She's the one you should be taking stats with, for sure. The only thing is you need to do is go to all her classes and she basically just drop hints on whats coming in midterm/exams. If she knows you're trying your best/working hard she bumps you up. Extremely sweet and helpful. Would recommend 100%

Vinita overall is a very good prof. She does all of her notes in class so it's necessary to go because the textbook won't help at all. She explains things well and gives tons of practice examples (perfect for assignment and test practice) but is a little disorganized and sometimes goes into too much depth. Exams are very fair

Prof Mishra does it again! I took stats with her and loved her teaching style so much that I knew I had to take Finance with her as well. I did way better than expected, thanks to her (I suck at numbers!) and am excited (okay, that may be a stretch) to take FINA 2361 with her as well - she's the best!

Mishra is a gem of a woman, super kind and will absolutely help you if you show you care and are interested in doing well instead of just trying to get answers. Only criticism is that problems done in class do not reflect the wording and difficulty of the exams, but if you practice the ones in the book and assignments, it isn't too bad

Best prof I have ever had at SMU. I had her for Quant, Stats, and Finance and she made very difficult courses easy to understand. Very kind to students and very approachable outside of class. You need to attend class or you'll fall behind with the concepts, as the courses are fast paced. Highly recommend her!!!

She is amazing in so many ways. Her explanation was clear, and extremely easy going. She genuinely care about the student. She gives out candy for Halloween. If you had to fight someone to get in her class. DO IT. I wish she has more section. I love her. I will definitely take a class with her again. Pick her if you want stats to be easy.

I took FINA2360 for a summer course, so it was sped up A LOT! At first, the assignments and tests were intense. You have to devote time to truly understand the concepts. She told us exactly what she was testing on and even provided her own notes, so we didn't have to buy the text. She also listened to our feedback and changed things if needed.

Best prof Ive had so far. Taken her for both FINA 3260 and 3261!

Prof Vinita is far by one of the greatest professors in my opinion. She makes sure the idea is delivered straight to your brain, and absolutely love her teaching style.

Honestly, she is one of the best profs at SMU. She explains everything very clearly, always repeats things when you don't understand, and quickly responds to her emails. The only thing she doesn't like is when students who don't show up to class ask her dumb questions that we have already done in class or previous classes. Finance II was hard tho

Great professor, her lectures were so clear and easy to follow. She cares for her students and will gladly re-explain topics in an encouraging manner, she naturally made this class more inviting and less intimidating. One of the great professors that genuinely loves their job, I would take her for every finance course if I could!!

Took her for both Finance I & II, she's a fantastic prof. Super nice, cares a lot about each of her students and was always going over subjects multiple times to make sure everyone understood. 100% recommend.

The only thing this prof could improve on is the fact that she only opens her assignment dropboxes the day of the due date. I would like to hand in things a little earlier to get it off my plate. She doesn't update the syllabus either, so be very careful with due dates.

Amazing Prof, loves questions and will go out of her way to make sure every student knows the concepts. Its still a finance course so get ready to study before each test. Only negative part of the class was the Cumulative 45% final, but she will make sure you are prepared and provided a clear outline of what you need to know.

I really liked the prof because she always explained the logic behind every formula unlike other profs who simply ask us to memories it, her explanation of PV OF CCATS formula origin and Dupont Analysis impressed me a lot and urge me to rate the professor. Overall, she is great prof like DR. Mansouri.

BEST PROF IN SMU, NEVER MISS HER TO STUDY WITH HER, VERY COOPERATIVE

Lectures were very useful and there were no surprises on the midterm or exam. She went over the assignments in class. So easy to get a good mark if you pay attention. She was just overall great at teaching and explained how to correctly do a question and why we did it that way.

Very lovely prof, Sticks to the course structure way too much though. Weekly assignments are due each friday at 1pm compared to other clases on the same subject being due anywhere from 1-3pm. Despite other profs allowing more time she will not. Strict to due dates. Work isnt horribly hard but is difficult for unprepared folk.

She is a great prof and deserves the good ratings. She is very friendly, clear with the material she assigns and is always willing to help if you need it. Make sure to listen in class to really understand material and you will do fine in the class. I highly suggest choosing her as your prof if possible.

She is an incredible professor and I would 100% take her class agin. she truly cares about her job and clearly loves it. Incredible. Be aware she's not a very good people person if you have questions after class, she's very matter of fact and seems like she thinks she's smarter than you.

Amazing, I went from not understanding stats (couldn't find the course she taught me on here), and essentially failing the first part to getting 90s on everything. The only reason I finished with a D is because she wasn't the one who made the exam and it was nothing like what we were used to.
