This teacher was very good and likeable. Yes, he does have the class reread the material in class which is very boring, but I think he is just teaching to the slower students, I think that is kind of admirable, he wants everyone to succeed. I think he is pretty sexy too! (blushing)

The classes are very boring. He's a cool guy but doesnt mix it up. He does make you read the chapter and reread it in class. It makes for an easy class but a boring one.His test are fairly easy but he puts multiple answers to his questions so you have to know the answer. other than that hes decent.

he doesnt like to answer questions he forgets when he gives people excuses to miss classes due to illnesses and he focuses mostly on himself. in my opinion i think that he is too focused on himself and i think that he is very unprofessional and i dont think he should be teaching anymore thank you i do not recommend his class to any incoming student

Marriage and Family - I agree with other comments that he asks you to read a chapter, then you spend the class reading it in class. He doesn't like to answer questions and seems to want his students to regurgitate the book instead of applying critical thinking skills.

He's such a great teacher...really cares you know. This class is very insightful with different careers it helped me with my decision. If your unsure of what you wanna do with your life take this course. Plus every week theres a speaker so it's not boring, and very easy just come everyday.

Easy B. I took it for summer, he kind of talks off topic at times and teaches slow, so you gotta catch up on reading yourself. Other than that, his quizzes are easy, but attendance is a mandatory. Would have had an A, but I missed like 3 classes = 45 pts gone! horribly upsetting. I got a moderately easy B.

Probably the best Professor at Cypress- Has high expectations of his students and gives 110% of himself, which includes tools needed for everyday survival. Students come from all over OC to attend this class (it's amazing to see people travel so far just to be in his class!). I really liked this guy A+ (no favorites- everyone is equal).

Virgil is one of the greatest instructors that i have taken. i also took some of his other classes and just enjoyed actually being in class. You learn a great deal by not even really trying. He is easy as long as you just put a little effort into the class. Even if you were to do nothing you could still pass his class. I recommend him for anyone

I knew all the material. On one test, he had us use the same scantron as the first test and I guess I thought I knew how to take tests by now and just assumed to start off where I left off. He wanted us to start on the nest column and didn't let me adjust my answers in the same order as I put them. I got a 24% raw score.

This was okay but he was just giiving us two days to study for the final because he forget to put the study guide on the website. so then many students tryed to e-mail him to get our study guide and he did not even reply back until sunday night. This class was ok but the tests are not like what he tells you to study.

Great teacher. he knows his stuff and is someone you can learn from. Textbook is manditory but is cheap as far as textbooks go. my uncle took this class too and still refers to the text and handouts in real life situation. TAKE THIS CLASS(even if ur not a husr major)

Prof. Adams isn't a great teacher. He pretends to be a big fan of class discussions but if you ever say anything he doesn't agree with he'll just cut you off and ignore you. He responds to emails maybe 50% of the time. If you're not a Human Services major, I wouldn't recommend taking this class with him. Also the whole class was ONLY about alcoholi

Awesome teacher - does not let students run the class discussions, as they shouldn't because we dont pay enrollment fees for a bunch of students to speak their mind, which in most cases is irrelevant. I recommend him to any other people i know taking that course. and the whole course is definitely not just about alcohol, there is alot to learn.

I would not recommend this teacher. He calls people out if they don't have an answer he likes, and he makes them feel like an idiot. I know from experience. It is true that if you ask a question or make a comment that he isn't interested in hearing, he will ignore you. NOT A GOOD TEACHER!

Prof Adams is a great teacher. He focuses on class discussion and if he calls you out he expects at least a college level thinking answer. Some people obviously don't pay attention in class and say "i don't know" and he hates that. Great lectures that apply to everyday life. Attendance is worth 250 points so go to class!

Adams was a REALLY bad teacher. It is so frustrating because he throws in random lectures that you will not find in the book solely based on his opinion. He treats his class like we are in elementary school and is not consistent. In the beginning he missed two classes and did not hold to the syllabus schedule and then pretty much chose random days

Mr. Adams is a very entertaining professor. However, sometimes he can go off topic and put people on the spot. I suggest you read the book and print the study guides because that will ensure an A on the tests. He is very critical about attendance, so don't miss a class because that truly makes a difference in your grade!

His tests are off the wall and thats if he decides to have the test on the day he says. that never happens, it's always pushed back after late nights of studying the useless study guides and reading the endless chapters in the book because he does not teach anything!

Attendance = 250 Points Study guides aren't useful at all he pretty much gives you a list of vocab thats not even used in the test. Class is pretty easy. He's mono toned so you'll get bored half way through. If you take the class, you should read the chapters. You don't know what will show up on his tests!

Mr. Adams is a tricky one. He knows his stuff, but has a hard time sticking to the syllabus dates. He also has a hard time admitting he wrong at times. He has his good and bad days for sure. He is almost always late to class(over 5-8 minutes on average). You MUST do the readings and attend class to know whats going on. Take i for the credits.

Mr. Adams knows what he is teaching and will get you to understand that. He has his favorites and if you are not one, he will never call on you. Go to class and ontime. Read the books! and never say "I don't know" he hates that. Kept class late every session and would put the test at the end of class. Good teacher, but not the one for me.

Great class, hardly studied and passed with an A. there are many class discussions, so if youre on to sit in the back and tune out and not pay attention, this class isn't for you. i liked that Mr. Adams correlated the information to real life situations, very insightful and great teacher overall. (side note: don't missclass or you'll be lost later)

Wonderful professor. He does call on everyone during class but his q?s are common sense questions. It keeps you engaged & on your toes. Honestly, it seems like the people in class who don't like him are the ones who don't pay attention & who don't do the work. There's hardly any homework & what's on the study guide is exactly what?s on the test.

Adams is a good guy. Don't use your phone at all or he will kick you out of class. Pay attention to what he says bc he picks on people not paying attention. He tells you to read for homework but he reads the exact same thing directly out of the book during class. He can be tough but just do what you need to do and you will pass.

Excellent Professor enjoy teaching and discussing the topic. He requires participation, reading the book, do required assignments, and attendance is important to him. He does not tolerate excuses, tardiness, cell phone usage and I agree. You come to class to learn, if you are not there for that, than he suggest that come back when you are ready.

I've had Professor Adams before and each semester I have learned more from him then expected. This is a college class, he expects you to have read and to know the material. He will challenge you to learn more then expected. Overall he is a great teacher, with alot of knowledge. Take him if you get the chance.

I loved Mr.Adams class. he was very interesting and funny.Ive been reading comments and some said that he puts people on blast and picks on them. he does that so students can get out of their comfort zone. its for your own good.sometimes he was late and kept us few minutes after class but not a big deal. i recommend his classes.

I don't understand how teachers like V. Adams keep their jobs! He was chronically late to class, almost never stuck to his syllabubs, often gave lectures from his other courses (criminal justice, self esteem) and was downright abusive to the students in class who asked fair questions. I got an A, but the confusion and frustration wasn't worth it.

I have taken Mr. Adams three semesters straight, and i never not once had a problem with him, hes one to call on students but not to "pick" or "abuse" them but to help them understand! and make sure there understanding his lecture. His lectures are interesting, his snip-its are very interesting. no texting,and read and you will be fine :]

He knows what he is talking about it. He will call on you so be prepared and always stay on top of your homework/reading. Don't take his class if you plan on not putting in effort. There is no point. Always has time after class for his students. Just pay attention and don't mess around. Your not in high school anymore anyways. Great teacher!

He is pretty easy. Half your class point is for attendance so it's mandatory. Test is straight forward. Just study the study guides and you'll get an A. His notes are all over the place though. Definitely was an interesting class.

Mr. Adams was overall a great teacher! At first i didn't want to take him because he seemed rude and like he didn't tolerate much. In the end I'm glad i stuck with him. Knows the material! He's a great guy and knows his stuff. However, his ambiguity can get frustrating, he's rarely direct when he's asked questions. Don't be late, read the book, do/study the study guides, and pay attention. He calls on students often, not to pick on them, but to check if they understand. Don't even try texting during class

I thought this teacher was pretty good. He was very easy. I received a B in his class. He likes to show movies, but they all have something to do with what we are talking about at the time. Read the book. He might just call on you unexpected. Test are easy.

There is LOTS to say about Mr. Adams. But I'll break it down. Show up to class! Pay attention! Be prepared to know the book! DONT TEXT! DO NOT FALL ASLEEP! HE will KICK you out. He is a great professor, i enjoy his classes. He always has time for his students during office hours. He calls on people if he thinks u are not paying attention in class. Do not use your cell phone, he will get kick out of class.

I took his self esteem class and it was very educational as I learned a great ordeal about myself and how to work and perform with others in the work field. Don't show up late, Read the book, and don't say I don't know, and you will do fine in his class! :)

I have never felt so disrespected in my life when it comes to education. He was incredibly rude multiple times to me in class, in fact he condescends to his students constantly. He wouldn't answer questions, there were exam questions that were not in the book, lecture, or study guide. When I asked him about the question, he told me I should google.

I loved his classes, Mr Adams knows his stuff. DO NOT Be LATE or TEXT you will get kick out of his class, so make sure your phone is off when class starts. He will call on students who is not paying attention. Mr. Adams is there for his students during office hours, he is easy to talk to during during office hrs.

His lectures are boring and don't even think about asking a question. He will come back to you when you have forgotten what the question was so write it down. Also he was late for class almost every day and keeps you late to cover his agenda.

He's an overall great professor. He will force you to be in the front so sit in the first or second row or you will be moved. Do not over think this class! All test answers are in his lecture. He makes the tests and really any question as simple as can be so do not over think your answers. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE AND DO NOT MISS CLASS.

one of the best teachers I've ever had. whether he's nice or not does not change his dedication to his craft, his knowledge of these subjects and his connections within Human Services. His self esteem class should be a requirement for all students and was beyond helpful when returning back to college after many years

He was really tough, he made everyone participate In group activities but made it really difficult to interact with other students. His personality is difficult to read.. My advice, don't take him if you aren't wildly spontaneous or like to speak out loud. He likes prove students wrong and there are no make-up exams or homework.

I have taken Mr. Adams several classes one of the best teachers ever. He has no time for nonsense. Your in college, your an adult and he expects you to act like one. Do not use your phone in class,he'll kick you out with an absence. He calls on the ones he thinks are not paying attentions so pay att.! In general everyone passes just go be serious

He may seem kind of intimidating and catches students off guard, but all you have to do is show up To class everyday and participate and you will get an A. If you're introverted though, i Wouldn't recommend taking him since he likes to put you on the spot a lot and speak in front of the class.

I have taken Mr. Adams twice for Self Esteem and Drugs & Alcohol in Our Society. Basically be attentive, take notes, attend every class, and do not ask a lot of questions when he is lecturing. This is college and it is preparing you for the Human Services field. I am not the most studious person yet I learned so much from Mr. Adams.

Professor Adams would just show videos everyday, He would go sit in the back of the class and fall asleep. Disrespectful to students and showed up late to class everyday. Waste of time, do not take this class.

The worst professor i have had, he is disrespectful and likes to put you down. I don't mind a strict teacher but when i am trying to do notes while he is lecturing and get yelled at for taking notes then it gets annoying. I even stopped doing notes then got yelled at for not doing notes which left me confused. DO NOT THIS TAKE PROFESSOR!!

I really like Professor Adams and the way he teaches. The first semester with him was a bit hard to follow, but I caught on to his way of teaching, you definently have to pay attention. Professor Adams is a great teacher and very knowledgable in his field.

Mr. Adams is an awesome instructor. May seem intimidating at first. All you have to do is show up to class, pay attention and make sure not to use your phone in class. He expects you to act like a responsible adult and show respect when in class, which is common sense. Easy A if you follow these instructions.

Absolutely terrible! Do not take his class. By far the most disrespectful professor Ive ever had. Saw me taking notes and threatened to kick me out of class. He is beyond ridiculous and is a power trip. Adams loves to belittle, and make people feel stupid. Do yourself a favor and do not take his class!

Prof Adams was an okay teacher. His work was not hard, but when the pandemic hit, he was not considerate to students. Many of my classmates didnt have a functioning laptop with a working mic, camera, or internet and he threatened to dock their grades. He literally does not care about your personal situations. Other than that, just do your work.

The irony is he thinks he is an amazing life changing professor when all he really does is play movies. Unless you are going into this field avoid him, and even then, Good Luck

A classmate was threatened with being dropped because he said he was doing okay, but Virgil wanted him to say he was going "Great" and when the student repeated it he got mad because he said with "attitude". The worst professor I have ever had. He plays a ton of movies. He wont read your emails, and he does not care if you need help.

We were graded on only exams. If you mess up 1 exam you are screwed. He doesn't grade homework or group projects. You will NOT pass if you don't read the material. I had to drop this class before the end of semester with an excused W because I was certain I would fail.

Since we're in a pandemic and if your mic is not working properly, he'll kick you out of class without warning then he'd say he kicked you to fix your computer issues. If you say I don't know he'll keep picking on you for other answers. His exams are alright, you just never know how you should answer it, especially essay questions. READ YOUR BOOK!

Fairly easy class and I can respect him as a professor despite him coming off as rude only because he makes sure his student are paying attention in class which can be more difficult during a pandemic attending class virtually. I learned not to ask questions, dont interrupt and lay low. quizzes are all over the place and study guides arent useful

Read the reviews before you take him. He is demeaning and condescending. I have never had a professor like him before in my life. Go to Fullerton college instead! He is not worth it. Lay low and don't say much so that he will not call on you. He should retire already.

He is very condescending and sarcastic professor which I really didnt appreciate. At times I felt he was very unprofessional and unprepared. He expects you to be prepared yet he is not. He didn't follow the syllabus and was all over the place. I wouldn't take him again, I took this class because I needed it.

Prof. Adams is knowledgeable in what he does, but if you want to do well you must read the chapters, actively participate in class, and take notes on what he discusses and any videos he shows. It all connects. You have to put in the effort and think of how everything relates. Also, pay attention because he catches you off guard and calls on you!

The worst teacher I ever had. I took him because I thought he was a good and serious teacher. Definitely its a tough teacher and he is so messy. Makes students feel like idiots even the smartest one. Prof. Adams was simply as disrespectful as they come. He knows the material yes, but it is another skill to know how to teach to a group of 18/19 year-olds, which he does not. Would constantly degrade and interrupt students and would not allow questions during lecture. Good luck if you take his classes.

Professor Adams was the first human service professor I took any classes from when I first started. He is very understanding when you talk to him personally. During class participation is very important! So is having the required textbook when reading. His exams are what he talks about in class, sometimes word for word, so take notes.

Prof. Adam is ok, he does not allow any questions during lectures & depending the class you take the assignments are graded or worth no points so make sure you attend to class and do well on exams because its based on your grade!! Make sure to pay attention cause he'll call on you offguard.

Dude he sucked, monotone. Lectures are long and boring. Last class he had his people that were in his class that werent students teach the last 2 hrs of class and we had an exam. Class ends at 9:40 pm and the lecture from the person who is not the teacher lectured until 9:30 and then we had to do a discussion AND WE STILL NEEDED TO DO THE EXAM

This is the worst instructor I have had for the past few years. I took his online course on the Sociology of Aging. He never responded to my emails. I finally resorted to emailing the dean to get the guy to respond to my emails. Adams thinks very highly of himself, very egotistical, no humility at all. He is hard to tolerate.

Prof. Adams runs a strict class, but if you stay engaged and use resources like unstuck study for study prep, you can get a good grade. Lectures are monotonous, but he does try different teaching methods. Attendance is a must.

Arrogant, condescending, and passive aggressive. He called someone out for looking down when they were taking notes because he "wasn't looking at the screen" therefore he wasn't paying attention. Lots of reading and will ask you questions. Goes off on tangents and felt like his lectures/videos don't make sense or apply to what we are learning.

Nice teacher but does not know how to use Canvas. His directions were unclear and the class struggled to fulfill assignments due to unclear grading criteria. He is also very hard to get into contact with,emailing him/messaging him through canvas will not get his attention. If you take his class, make a discord to figure it out with your classmates.

Jesus Christ, I find it ironic that this dude teaches a self esteem class. One of the most condescending, arrogant, sarcastic professors I have ever encountered. Now keep in mind I have attended UC classes as well, so I've experienced big egos. And this guy is still one of the worst professors I've ever had.

Not the worst teacher ever, but out of the 5 courses I took, I disliked his course the most. Arrogant/mean toward students, refused to answer questions students had "cuz they should've listened". ALOT of reading, no PowerPoints, like most teachers have. Most of your grade comes from 4 exams. NOT technical savvy, with ZOOM or replying to emails.

Ive never had a professor who literally wants his students to fail. He will NOT answer any questions about anything related to the class, and refuses to respond to emails and messages on canvas. His exams have material that he doesnt teach his class. If you have any other options, take another class...even if you have to transfer to another school.
