Excellent teacher ! Funny. Only 6 MC tests and a paper.
Very difficult, test featured info not in book or taught in class
I'm about to graduate with a ba in psychology and criminal justice and head on to grad school -- dr. b. was such an inspiration to me that I switched from communications to psychology. a difficult instructor but well worth the effort!!!!

very difficult. Not a very good teacher. Extremely stiff necked and needs to relaxe a little.
This is one of the best and most challenging courses I've taken. Attendance is not required but very important in order to succeed in the class. She is very intellegent and passionate about what she teaches. Must work hard, but highly reccommend!
Virginia is a wonderful teacher--very into her subject and very knowledgeable. Show up for lectures, read the text, and you'll do well. I'm even thinking of taking her bio-psych class just for fun!
She is the teacher of par exelonse...
She was a great teacher and inspired me to continue on in psychology. Very important to attend all of her classes because the material is difficult. She is eager to help if you need clarity on a concept. Extra credit on tests and decent grading on papers.
great lectures, easy exams (if you study, pay attention and come everyday), projects encourage creativity
She is piesd-egisistonce, means irresistable.. She is the greatest instructor you can have. Yes, she is highly articulated and very knowlidgible.. you need to study well in her class and if you do so, you'll learn a lot. She is the best..
She is brilliant. Very challenging, at least the course I took, but if you work hard in the end it always pays off. Her tests can be difficult but no surprises, just study the material and you will do fine. I recommend at least taking one course and deciding if her style is right for you.
A little harsh, but willing to help if you ask.
Talks to much about herself! Not every helpful but easy to listen to.
Great teecher, has a lot of experience and make sthe information stick. Teaches in a very clear way
Horrible teacher. She just tells stories the entire class time about how she helped someone somewhere or something. Tests are straight from the book, so you might as well just read the book and skip her class.
good teacher, fair, material is challenging, but it's based on how well u study. Very helpful. lots of stories, but depends on how well u use the story, it can benefit u still. probably not a good idea to take one of her classes when you have a heavy load of classes
Her 26yrs of teaching expereince show in her classes. She was an excellent instructor and I learned a LOT in her class. Study hard and read the book and you will do fine. Oh, attend all classes and get extra credit occasionally <g>.
she's nice & patient.. yes you can skip the class as she gives the test exactly from the text book..and if you study it, it is very easy. She also gives some extra credit for the test. she's one of the best.
I took her for PHYSIOLOGICAL PSYCH. This is a very tough course with a lot of material to cover. Do all the homework, papers, and diagrams because she grades them fairly and they help to bring up average test scores. She expects you there everyday. (It really helped me to learn).
I hated it. It wasn't what I expected. She focuses on the physicological approach because it's her specialization. She uses big words, and openly admits that most people have a hard time understanding her because of it. I couldn't stay awake
She is one of the best teachers I've ever had, very interesting and does a great job of relating personal scenarios to what she is teaching in the class. I HIGHLY reccomend her. Exremly clear, and is always willing to take a question.
Bridwell's psych class was one of the best classes I'd ever taken. If I hadn't transferred from BCC, I definitely would've taken more classes with her.
She was boring and only focused on the physiological perspective of Psych, making it more like a biology class. Brags about using big words that nobody understands but still uses them. Who needs to count sheep? Just take this class and insomnia?s cured.
Virgina is probably the smartest and most professional woman I've ever met.
One of the hardest classes i have ever taken and about 2/3 dropped it by final time. But if you stick through her classes and do your work she will make sure you get through it ok!
i took not only abnormal psych with her, but also intro, and i thought she was a very good teacher. everything was organized and consistent. not a hard class as long as you do your reading and studying. shes awesome! i recommend her to everyone!
She's great I took her Psych. 101 class too. She's helpful and knows what she's tlaking about. I enjoyed her classes very much. You know on the first day of class when all your tests are and what your final project is. Great for being able to plan ahead. If you take notes you don't have to read, she covers everything in class!!
She always says neuron wrong and always fixes her jacket. She explains well though.
this class is the hradest class that you can ever take in BCC, in my opinion. she is a very nice lady, but don't forget the fact that she is very strict. getting a good grade out of that class is a fine example of a miracle!
Easy but boring at times
Great teacher! She knows what she is talking about and is always willing to help her students! If you miss a class you can make it up by reading -- she follows along with the book! She is really nice and funny too! If you listen to her and take notes doing class you wont have to read. In a nutshell, great class and a great teaher!
This is a VERY tough class, but she is a wonderful teacher. It's just that there is so much material to learn. She is very understanding though, and wants her students to do well. I really respect her because she really knows what she's talking about and understands her students. Make sure to read the book thoroughly and go to class everyday!
Don't let her fool you by staying in her class with her easy first exam. She never admits it, but she follows the textbook heavily. I did not realize this until probably halfway through the quarter. She is VERY HARD. Lots of poeple in my class dropped. She teaches this in a true lecture form, class of 80, you dont get too much interaction time.
Her class is only difficult if you dont pay attention to her lectures and skim through the reading. She is very intelligent and knows what she is talking about. She is always eager to answer questions and I would definitely recommend her!
Her class is INCREDIBLY HARD! It's all lectures, 5 exams, and a portfolio. No extra credit, no homework. You could learn out of the book if you wanted to. She teaches a class of 80 so you get no time with her. If you're good with lectures, go with her. If not, look for someone else because you will most likely do poorly.
I was amazed at how interesting this class was. Dr. Bridwell was amazing at teaching and helping to understand the concepts. There was a bit of work involved, but show up to class EVERY day, it will help immensely. Time really flies by during class and you learn a LOT of practical stuff. Best class I've ever taken, new favorite teacher!
There was so much information to learn for this class that it was overwhelming. But, Professor Bridwell was extremely helpful. Come to class and listen well to her lectures because that is what the basis of her tests are on. If you read the text, you will get an even better grade on the test. Instructor knows her stuff for sure.
Intro to Psych wasn't hard at all. You just have to put the time in reading the book. The most important factor in getting an A, is to do all of the study guide questions. You will ace every test if you do that. She does give extra credit points for every lecture, and you can drop one of the exam scores.
Very classy, knowledgeable lady. Tests are harder then you think - read the chapters carefully because not everything is discussed in lectures, use the study guide in the library to check your knowledge. Papers take time so don't procrastinate. Still if you put in the time you will get a good grade.
Awesome teacher she's very interesting and very knowledgeable. If you want to learn take her. Her class is hard only if you dont read the book always read the book and you'll do fine.
I recommened bringing a tape recorder to class because her lectures move quite fast. Though, she is very patient and helpful if you have any questions. Considered to be the second best instructor at BCC, I recommend her to anyone taking Psych.
Very clear, organized lectures. Required in-class demonstrations and out-of-class volunteer service.
Virginia is a very nice professor, but the only problem with her is that her tests are really hard. She doesn't cover all the material, and wants us to learn everything on our own. I can recommend her to you, but be ready to study everyday.
She may be a great psychologist, but she is horrible teacher. Be prepared to commit a lot of time to this teacher.
WONDERFUL teacher and great lectures not a slacker class if you want an A you must attend class.
Great teacher, she is excited about it so you tend to pay attention, her stories make the material relevent and she does a good job going indepth as long as you ask her to.
Imagine, a teacher who actually expects you to work hard and learn! My class was full of a bunch of whiners.Class isn't hard, come to class and actually read the book. She offers extra credit for each test and lets you drop your lowest test score. No cummulative final.A 200 level class means work, but super interesting.
Worst class, worst professor I've had. Doesn't lecture half of what she tests for and what she does lecture on doesn't seem relevant. The 6 paper project is a waste of time. At times I wasn't sure if this was a chemistry, biology or anatomy and physiology class. Avoid tis teacher if you can. Every day is boring and wasted.
I would definitely take a class from her again. The material is hard, but she teaches it in an understandable way. Great examples and stories, I looked forward to going to class everyday. Listen to her lectures and read the textbook and you'll be fine. One of my favorite teachers at BCC.
Terrible experience. She teaches new material right up to exam day and never conducts a review. Her "learning objectives" for test are filled with items she never covers in class. I have brought this to her attention and she leaves that material off the test. This class is boring and uninteresting and mostly empty except on test day.
she's a really great teacher. she drops your worst test, and the final is not comprehensive. in the beginning she warned us about the class being really hard, but if you keep up and do the study guide before every test you'll ace the class. there's also a project that took a while, DON'T put it off. overall i learned a lot
Very Very difficult but a very good teacher if you plan on majoring in the psychology field TAKE THIS CLASS, if just to fulfill req. credits DONT TAKE WITH BRIDWELL!!!
Yes, her class is super hard. But it is really fun to take! strongly recommend to take for student who will major in psych.
I took this class (Psych 202) Physiological Psychology and got an A. Virginia shows excellent command of the subject matter and teaches it with finesse. She is very intelligent and articulate and exudes sophistication. In order to do well you have to do your part and prepare for exams. This class is not for the faint of heart. Highly recommend!
This class was was generally pretty hard. You're going to have to read the book every day going over whatever she lectured about in class. There is also a HUGE completely solo project where you have to study/write about 6 different types/fields of Psychology. I can only remember it took me a good 2 weeks. DON'T put it off until the last week.
I really enjoyed this class. We did not get to cover all the chapters schedueled, but it was summer quarter and only 6 weeks long. I admit I thought the portfolio project was a challenge, but my hard work paid off in the end. Just make sure to read the textbook and go to class. She is very intelligent and I learned so much from her this summer.
Highly recommended instructor and class! Bridwell does a fine job when it comes to effective teaching... very clear, direct and engaging! Even if you never thought you would be interested in the study of human behavior, Bridwell's examples make the concepts hard to forget :)
Prof. Bridewell is awesome. No really. It's probably one of the classes I've had to work the hardest in, and that might be because it was a summer course, but her classes were extremely interesting, and she always explained things pretty well. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you want to attend anyway because you'll miss a lot if you don't.
She was, in my opinion, the best teacher I've had at BCC. Her class was harder than most, but well worth it!
Awesome course. gives a great and interesting overview of psychology. Not an easy A. HW-quiz once every 2 weeks on two chapters, reading the text is a must. Papers-only one major paper (pretty intense) on psychological claims in the media.
She is an awesome instructor. Extensive use of slides makes attendance mandatory. Interesting lectures makes one WANT to attend. Very professional, doesn't talk down to students. High expectations of herself and students. loved the class.
Bridwell is an amazing teacher! She is engaging and thoughtful in her dialogue. You cannot take this class for an easy grade, but if you want to be sincerely challenged and pushed to your academic limits than this is the class to consider!
FABULOUS PROF! Lectures mostly seemed supplemental because the tests were written by the authors of the book, though the extra credit questions were usually from lectures. To do well READ and take practice tests in the book or online (some questions are recycled on tests). I was able to get an A by reading/reviewing about 20-40 minutes daily.
My friend had taken this class before I had and she raved about Mrs. Bridwell, but also said that she was a tough instructor. Alright people, this woman is fabulous. She is absolutely one of my favorite professors at BC, and she is so smart and perfect! She is so pretty and so good at what she does! She loves her subject and she teaches it marvelou
sly. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone. Yes, her class isn't a piece of cake but really, what is? You must work hard for your grade, and believe me, she is always there to help you if you need it. Take this teacher and be introduced to perfection and the joys of physiological psychology.
sly. Go to her if you need help for anything. She's absolutely wonderful at what she does, and she loves teaching her subject. Take this class just because you learn so much. Yes, it is a challenging course, but it is highly enjoyable. Take this class and learn about perfect professors and physiological psychology.
She is smart,no one can say she doesn't know her stuff. But,she is not a good teacher of the material.Jumps all over the place, very unclear, no PPT, her 'objectives' don't help you for the exams. We had a diff version of the text than she got her 'computer generated' tests from,so guess what? Many of the test questions didn't=info in the text.
Poor classroom management. If a person is tardy or misbehaves in class, she deliberately pauses her lectures to humiliate him. While this does correct the behavior in the short term, it puts a damper on my learning. I would have preferred it if she ignored the misbehavior and continued lecturing. My train of thought was otherwise disrupted.
An enjoyable class. An intelligent and nice professor. Welcomes questions, opinions, and input. Loads of busy work that'll help you learn. Overall, I recommend taking her class for a lot of learning an a fairly easy A.
She treats her students as if they are children who don't know anything. She seems as though she should be teaching in an auditorium, too much lecturing not enough student engagement. She makes an interesting subject almost unbearably boring.
Virginia is the best teacher I have ever had. One of her greatest attributes is that she teachs in a variety of styles(visually, auditory, artistic, verbal ect.) so that she reaches as many students as possible. Both Psy 101 and 202 are difficult classes requiring hard work and dedication. But when you are done you will know your subject.
I took her class because I was so interested, and heard she was great, and now I really regret it. The author of the book writes the tests, and she complains about the book all the time. She is useless in office hours. Apparently Im in the minority though, so I don't know. I am an A/B student and got a c- after working my butt off. Do not recommend
Be ready to AT LEAST study notes, book, study guide, visual pictures for 2-3 hours a day. Truly if you want an A and you try very very hard, it can somehow be done..but DONT rely just on her lectures..actually do not rely on them at all...the text is your best friend.
This professor is a Sarah Palin look alike -and she has all these stories of living and working in Alaska, too! But the similarities stop there. She's really smart, knows her topic and demands more than most teachers -but you'll learn more because she relates it to the real world well.
First, only take if you need it for a psych major. I took this class for "fun" science requirement-Huge mistake. 5 or 6 tests, drops lowest score. . Use the book, online study and study with others. Go to class or she'll get really mad and lower your grade. Avoid if you can. Loves her subject but doesn't know how to teach it. Over all, disappointed
Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful whenever you need it. Real world XP in the subject w/relevant anecdotes, patients. Happy to answer questions, clarify or rephrase points, talk after class. Will adapt her teaching style to the class' preference. Def need to study well- it's not all intuitive. Always enlightening, interesting and fun. Loved her!
Only graded on tests, and nothing else in class. Her tests are confusing and she uses scantrons with multi choice, MANY of the questions are tricky, and almost the same answer, so it's easy to get wrong...she's hard!!
She definitely knows her subject! If you can keep yourself focused in class, she is very helpful and clear. Her tests are not difficult. However it is hard to focus on in class, because of her teaching style and tone of voice. If you can get past it, then you will do well, or at the very least decent. She is also a very nice and genuine person.
Bridwell is an absolutely amazing professor! She's strict, but she clearly knows her stuff and she really relates it well with personal stories. If you're lazy or inconsiderate you'll probably hate her, but anyone who shows up on time, turns their phone off, reads the textbook and completes their assignments will likely do well in her class.
This teacher is amazing! You do have to work for your A. But you will learn so much! She is so nice, pretty, and she will help you! READ THE BOOK! listen to her...she is so helpful! After taking her class I decided to become a psychology major. She changed my life!
Virginia is an amazing teacher. She's very intellegent. However, her knowledge seems way to extreme for an intro class. Tests are based on the textbook and rarely on her lectures, so reading seriously helps. She lectures everyday and very little of what she says is on the test.
Great teacher, very knowledgeable, frequently has students taking using office hours, really kind. She is willing to answer your questions and a great story teller. She also has a heck of a lot of prior working experience in her field, so she knows what she's talking about! 5 tests-1 dropped-Final is just a regular chapter test. 1 writing assignment
There isn't a lot of student involvement- mostly just lectures. However, Bridwell is really good at using her personal experiences as examples- fun to listen to! She doesn't give very clear notes in class so make sure to read the book, but she's always willing clarify material. Not that hard of a class.
Mrs. Bridwell is an okay teacher, but she tries too hard to use large vocabulary words to make herself sound intelligent. I'm sure she's a smart lady, but it just gets distracting. Also, she tries to be too sexy and you can tell that she practices her gracefulness in the mirror which is quite comical. Overall, you must attend her classes.
She is the most intelligent teacher I've ever had. Yes, the class is challenging, but it's nothing anyone can't handle. You definitely need to frequent the text book, because that is where a lot of test questions come from. It is a lecture class, but not once have I come close to falling asleep. Her personal experiences really help. She's great!
She is an incredible teacher; she knows the material like a first language! I highly recommend taking her class.
She was very helpful. Her class is really hard. (the exams).. She is very understanding too, just dont take her class expecting to be on cruise control.. you got to REALLY WORK
By far the best teacher I've had so far. Many people will say her class is hard and the tests are horrible, but honestly i didn't do nearly as much studying as she recommended and i did well on all my exams. Listen to her lectures and absorb what she says, and you will be golden.
The most amazing teacher ever. Im now a psychology major because she made her class so interesting. Extremely helpful and always willing to work with you. Although, if you want an easy class do not take her.
Bridwell is smart and knows her stuff, but she straight up sucks at teaching. If you take her class you could just buy the textbook and read it by yourself. There is no point in going to class because all she does is let the textbook teach.
Her tests are hard but very much doable. She mainly teaches using outdated videos and powerpoints she creates. The powerpoints are just images so they don't help at all when you're studying. She goes off on tangents a lot. She requires study groups. If you want an A, don't take this class. She's an awesome person just not the best teacher.
A great professor that is extremely helpful. Just read the textbook's chapters and look over the chapter objectives before the tests. Overall amazing professor, but sometimes she gives you too much detail and information.
She is an amazing teacher.A very interesting class and subject.I would recommend her class to everyone.Very easy exams and a portfolio project.
Your grade is based off tests and a projects/peer tutoring. Her test are easy if you attend class and read the text book.
I absolutely loved this teacher and class. She tells some really interesting stories, and encourages questions. You will need to take good notes and study your textbook, but you won't regret taking this class.
awesome teacher! extremely personable, with how complicated the material can be she tries to make sure you don't ever feel over whelmed or doomed, if your going to take a Psyc. class and shes available I highly suggest her. realize however, as great as she is at teaching she is still teaching complicated stuff.
Awesome teacher, hard class, you'll work your bottom off but it'll be worth it. Most of your grade is tests, so be prepared to study for them and attend EVERY lecture.
Bridwell knows the subject material backwards and forwards, and by the end of the class you'll need to as well. It's a hard class, but well worth it if you put in the effort to do well. Tests are most of the grade, don't slack off on studying for them or you WILL do poorly in the class.
As others have said, she knows her content to the full extent. You can ask extremely technical questions, and she will give answers that are both detailed and easy to understand. Class could move fast, but she was also happy to slow down to help those who needed help. Used funny anecdotes to make content much more interesting. Highly recommend!
She is very sweet. She talks a lot about her work as a psychologist but they are interesting, although she can get a bit off topic. I did get an A- in her class. Her tests were based on the textbook so read it and you'll be fine.
Somewhat difficult but well worth it. She is extremely knowledgeable, clear, helpful and approachable. You will take away so much from her class! Unlike many instructors with difficult standards she actually treats her students like people. She is also the Dean of Social Sciences though so sometimes it may take her a while to respond to e-mails.
Best teacher I have ever had! Yes her class is hard and you have to study your butt off but its well worth it! Virginia knows her biological psych like the back of her hand. She is able to explain things in a way that is easy for the students to understand. Study A LOT, work hard, do well on test, and go to class and you will receive a good grade:)
Patronizing. Oddly somewhat snappy during office hours and took a surprisingly rude tone over e-mail when disagreement over facts occurred. Tells too many stories during class about herself and the test material isn't based on the lectures at all! Just read the text and you'll pass though.
Mrs Bridwell is a good teacher. she knows her stuff and is willing to share. unfortunately, she doesn't know how to transfer her knowledge to her students fully. the class is not easy so don't expect to slack off. she assigns study partners and that helps a lot. she is kind of boring though. better to go in front of her in the syllabus.
The subject is complicated & difficult, but Dr. Bridwell is incredibly knowledgeable & provides lots of resources for learning. There's also extra credit built into all the exams. The textbook is expensive, but a life saver! You will need to study a lot, but if you do, you succeed. I learned more from this class than any other I've ever taken!

She teaches straight out of the textbook and yet attendance is mandatory. Take this class from someone else or at your transfer destination to get more out of your time and money because, again, her lectures are not supplementary but immediately out of the text.
She has been unexpectedly rude and impatient over e-mail. Her class was interesting until she acted this way.
Virginia is awesome! She was understanding about textbooks delays/flu season and pushed back our first test. She's funny during lecture and tells interesting stories. She does an alright job with discussing the material. You will definitely have to read the textbook and study hard in order to succeed. Overall, great teacher, great class!
She tries hard to be polite and graceful in but she actually is rude and condescending in person and in emails. Her lectures cover the same things covered in the text. Not certain why this class the time; take from someone else or somewhere else.
You can tell she has passion for this subject but unfortunately she does not know how to share her knowledge. Not a very good teacher, you are basically self teaching, read the book and study hard if you want a good grade in this class. She has extra credit questions on each exam, but you really need the extra credit! Hard exams!
Very passionate about what she does and is extremely intelligent, but you definitely need to read the book for this class. Her lectures are sometimes helpful, but mostly just restating what the book says and she sometimes has stories that go along with it to help you remember. All in all, difficult but fascinating class.
Professor Bridwell is extremely nice, intelligent and knowledgable. However, like some other students wrote, she is not best at explaining the subject. She never uses the textbook in the class, BUT 100% of the test questions are from the textbook. Don't spend too much time reading class notes and slides if you are taking her class.
She is very nice and knowledgeable. She wants her students to do well, and would try everything to help you success. However, it is really important that you read the textbook instead of her lecture notes.
BEST TEACHER EVER! great at what she does, interesting stories and lecture. Look at the chapter objectives she has posted online and make sure you know them for the test.
Entertaining. Fascinating subject matter (psych 202.) Everything was explained well. Textbook PDF is online.
I loved this class. Great instructor. I highly recommend this class. Make sure you know the learning objectives for the exams. Read the book too. Peer tutoring is part of your grade. It was helpful because you learn from your partner. She wants her students to succeed and will find resources to help you as well. Lectures were helpful.
The exams center around the textbook, but she doesn't talk much about it in class. Knowledgeable though and not too boring to listen to. If you read the book and don't show up to class you'd probably get an A, and lots of extra credit on the exams. Lot of stupid group work that I hated. Still, I'd suggest her for anyone who isn't a slacker.
Really liked her class. If you have any questions, she's always willing to clarify or elaborate on certain points. All her tests are centered around the textbook so be sure to read! Lots of extra credit on tests. Would take another one of her classes again.
Extremely knowledgable professor. Bridwell does an amazing job of unpacking the complexities of a naturally confusing subject by connecting the big ideas and providing clarity to ambiguous concepts. Tests are detail oriented, but there are no surprises in terms of test questions and your lowest score is dropped. All assignments have a clear purpose
She is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions from clarification to curiosity. I would do even worse if the instructor were not her. If anything, even though Virginia is kind, she is not that kind of lecturers that will make friends with her students. Always being really professional.
Awesome instructor - really knows her stuff! Read over both textbook and class notes for exams. GO TO CLASS. On light attendance days she will take attendance (which could help to boost your grade). The material is super tough, but she makes it interesting to learn.
This was suppose to be an introduction class to physiological psychology! She is a very passionate professor but wow her class is super challenging. Hardest class I've ever taken and her tests are tough. I'd advise to not skip class because you'll end up missing a ton of notes. Think twice before signing up for this class, it might ruin your GPA.
This class is very difficult. Her tests are very hard, she grades very strictly as well. The Biological Psychology textbook is mandatory for the class but even if you read it, you'll still have a hard time with the tests. This class is very similar to Biology classes. I personally think that her teaching style is very boring.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. Majority of the the class is her trying to impress her students with how intellectual she is. Her tests are outrageously hard. You are forced to do study groups with someone in the class, so if you have a crazy schedule DO NOT take. She did offer extra credit when students complained.
This class is only graded on tests and the tests have very little to do with the text, lectures or study material. I had to spend A TON of EXTRA time in this class studying and it hardly payed off. Her lectures are random and very hard to follow and painful to sit through. This class is extremely difficult to get a good grade in.
She's incredibly well versed in the material, she's always open to discussing material further either after class or in her office. And her expectations are clear. The material is difficult, but she does what she can to help her students. There's mandatory group study though, so that's not for everyone. I love her, definitely recommend.
Taught straight out the textbook. Very concerned with how students view her as an intellectual, rather than what she can contribute to student success and learning. Skip this instructor and find someone else who doesn't teach straight out of the textbook, someone who adds depth.
Good, balanced teacher, take her if you are genuinely interested in the topic, and are looking for a balanced level of learning and work.
I was SO nervous before taking this class but passed with an A-! It is one of those classes where it is 90% out of the textbook... so READ READ READ everything in the textbook ahead of time before lectures since they are all over the place and unorganized. Create a bond with her, come to class, she is a REALLY kind lady, some E.C. really helps.
She's very passionate about the field of work but as a teacher not too great. Basically, you'll have to self teach. If you have a busy schedule this is not the best class for you. You get assigned a random partner and need to tutor each other once a week and record each session! Exams are intense! I regret taking this class!!
She is very knowledgable on the topic, but isn't the most organized. Multiple times she just didn't show up to the class without notice. Mandatory partner studying goes too far. Put aside a lot of time for this class for studying, writing practice tests for other students, and unnecessary group meetings. Info was decent, but delivery not so much.
Mrs. Bridwell's class was hard but rewarding. The material was very dense and introduced a lot of new "big" words as part of learning about the anatomy and chemicals within the brain. Her excitement for the course material and in-class explanations made the class captivating and the material easier to understand.
She is a good teacher, but honestly her class is very hard. There are a lot of things need to learn, if you are busy or take 15 credits courses, don't take her course.
She has a mandatory partner projects which are awful and not worth the time when your partner is flaky. She would go over time a lot. Would do this thing where if someone got up she would stop talking and glare at you hard enough to feel the fire from her eyes. Lectures very heavily. Thats all the class is basically
Dont take to fulfill a science requirement just because you think it will be interesting. Horrible lecturer, very hard to follow, always talks about herself, very unclear on what we will be tested on. She grades on very few items, only the partner project and the exams. Thats it, no room to save your grade. Hard to take notes on what she lectures.
If you're a person who needs to be taught, this class isn't for you. Tests are straight from the book, which she never lectures on (mostly talks about herself, goes on tangents) so you're gonna be self studying a complex subject. If you ask her a question, you'll get a vague/meaningless response. Partner work once a week was pointless & repetitive.
You basically have to teach yourself, she's all over the place and can't lecture about one topic without remembering something and then going on a tangent, not to mention she never keeps track of time and intros new info at the end of class. She's lost in her lectures and never sounds like she knows what she's teaching.
Very nice, wants all her students to succeed and know the material, and willing to answer any questions you may have both in and out of class. Light (but useful) textbook use, but lectures/notes are most important if you want to do well on the exams. Drops lowest exam score and gives ec on all exams. Would take her again if she taught other classes
The most amazing and inspirational instructor on campus. Her course is not easy but you not only learn the material, but how to be a better student. She is always available outside of class and is genuinely concerned about the success of her students.
