It's like kindergarten all over again. She's a little weird at times, but that makes the class that more interesting. If you need a math class to do well in, take her as your teacher.

I think she is such an awesome professor and very helpful. She teaches it on a middle school level and she makes sure that you know your information before moving on. She comes up with random phrases which makes the class entertaining but sometimes her tests can be difficult.

This lady is cccrraazzy. Group work was a total pain and it made me feel like a two year old which is what the whole class made me feel like. She says weird things all the time and sometimes loses her train of thought and gets everyone confused. Don't take unless you REALLY enjoy math like she does.

Virginia is a great professor. She is fun and makes math easy. I hadnt taken math in over 3 years, but I've managed to walk away with a B in this class. Definitly take this course with her!

Good teacher.Pretty funny but sometimes her jokes are little corny. There isn't much work she gives you, probably about 5 problems a class. My only problem is that when she tries to make class go by faster she'll try and say everything really fast without writing it down and then we all get confused so she has to write it down anyway.

if you know what is good for you, you will take her. She makes everything understandable in a real-life way. grades HW, 2 tests and a final. she goes out of her way to explain material in a simple terms and never puts tricky problems on the test. My "fine feathered friends" Virginia is the BEST prof to take for 205. Explains everything so clearly and always goes through every single step, so its difficult not to understand. And you skip all the parts of calculus that are actually hard

I hate math, and this course was really difficult for me. The best part about it was Professor Galgano! She's a very amusing person and class isn't ever dull. Lectures are shared with 2 other professors though. She is extremely helpful and I've been to her office hours many times. She really wants to see her students succeed.

Easiest class I'll probably ever take, that being said it was college alegbra, and before this class I had aced algebra and calculus courses. Lady is pretty crazy, but sort of fun.

One of the easiest math classes I have taken. Mrs. Galgano was a great professor and she made class interesting. I recommend taking her class. We did our homework in groups of 3-4 students and turned in only 1 paper. I made a B+ in the class, could have made an A if I didnt miss 1 or 2 of the homework assignments.

Attendance isn't mandatory but it's highly suggested. GO! I had this at 8am twice a week and then in the afternoon twice a week, the morning class is lecture and the afternoon is passing in hw and discussion. If you do the homework, go to class, and ask questions, you'll be fine on tests.

She's so enthusiastic and friendly that it makes you want to come to class and learn. Tests aren't easy but she prepares you well and is a very fair grader. Please take her she will change your outlook on math

THIS WOMAN IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAVE. She helped me so much and is an amazing person. She's the best teacher here at JMU not even kidding. She knows exactly what she's talking about. She teaches algebra in her own way but it makes perfect sense and is easy to understand. If you go to her for help, she is there for you. TAKE HER!!!!

It's impossible to fall asleep in this class, this women is hilarious and can grab your attention the whole time. Hints are given in notes for test problems and homework is turned in as a group. Easy A

This is the greatest math teacher ever. recommended her to everyone I know that has to take algebra or calc. Teaches in a way so that no one gets left behind. She makes it so easy because she's a great teacher but seriously JUST GO TO CLASS AND DO THE HOMEWORK. it's not hard learn to grow up you're in college. I'm so ready for calc thanks to her

Professor Galgano knows how to keep your attention and actually make math fun! She is hilarious and even made an 8 am class fun! She makes the math understandable and wish I could take her again.

Galgano is the very best!! Definitely will keep you awake in the mornings and forces you to learn. Always there for you and will meet you for office hours even if you cannot make the ones listed in the syllabus. PLEASE TAKE HER!

Professor Galgano is the best math teacher I have ever had. She really wants to make sure what you are learning is beneficial as you continue into higher math levels. If you struggle with algebra she teaches it in a way that not only makes sense but allows you to apply it. 4 classes a week for a total of two hours tops and you still learn.

Professor Galgano is the best teacher ever!! She is hilarious and makes math seem a lot more fun than it is. She's the sweetest lady and is willing to help you get an A in the class. The class material is easy and you get homework every class.

Highly recommend taking professor Galgano for math 156. Very helpful and wants all of her students to succeed. That being said she is very willing to help. Material is relatively easy just 4 tests and homework, so getting a B is easy. You'll have to work harder if you're bad at math and want an A.

I am awful at math, but with the help of Mrs. G I was able to get an A in both College Algebra as well as Calc. Absolutely love Mrs. G. I basically almost lived in her office getting help from her, and she never once turned me away or seemed frustrated. Highly recommend!

Virginia is by far the best teacher at JMU. She cares about everyone and makes sure to get to know you. I laugh during her class, even at 8am. If anyones worth getting up early for its her. She prepares you for the class you're aspiring to take next semester. All the tests are problems from the homework and in class.

Professor Galeano was amazing, really easy class, homework every class but it's only a few problems that you turn in, and its group homework. She's so funny and so caring and says anything to get you to pay attention to her. I would take her again in a heartbeat

I loved professor Galgano because she was always willing to help. I like how the class is split into a big lecture and then a smaller class. The class isn't hard but if you're someone like me who struggles with math make sure you go to her office hours. Sometimes she's also available during non office hours.

TAKE HER!!! She's an amazing professor who really cares about you doing well not only in her class but in future math classes! She really dumbs it down for those who are not good at math like myself and is easy to understand! She's also hilarious and such a sweet woman! She's truly amazing!

She is quirky yet entertaining. I had to take her class at 8am, and she always managed to be energetic and informative to her groggy students. She explains everything very well, from the review units to the harder concepts, and she really makes sure everyone understands before moving on. That is what you need in a Calculus professor.

TAKE HER! I took calc in HS, and I didn't "understand it" until I took Professor Galgano's class. Her optimistic attitude makes you want to learn. Class design is with groups for homework (very helpful!) and she teaches by a step-by-step basis (very helpful!). Take good notes and you'll be golden. Tests are the homework, class problems & notes!

Prof. Galgano is the most outlandish woman (in the best way possible). I had her class at 8 am and there was no way I could fall asleep. She has an upbeat voice and says things that keep you on your toes. Explains what she's teaching extremely well and is very clear about assignments. Homework is twice a week and there are 2 tests and a final.

She is honestly the best professor. Just attend class and do the work and it will all come easily. She is also hilarious and is always glad to help.

The BEST professor you will ever have! And the easiest A (even for the math impaired). Class is 4 days a week, and it is 100% worth it because she is such an excellent teacher. She makes complicated topics very simple. Shes hilarious and fun to be in class with. WHATEVER YOU DO TAKE HER!

One of my favorite profs I've had - bit of a nut job but she makes the class fun! Took her class to satisfy my last credit to get my BS, definitely better than trying to take a calc class. If you show up to class and participate, she'll be a great friend to you and a tremendous asset academically. Highly recommend!

She is literally the best math teacher i've ever had in my life!! She makes math so much easier to understand. I did not even care that it was a 8 am class because she was so optimistic and funny! Easily the best professor I have had at JMU so far. She makes the class enjoyable and explains the material really well. You work in groups that you get to choose at the beginning of the semester. If you complete all the homework problems and make sure to ask questions when you are confused you will have no problem doing well in this class.

Prof. Galgano is probably the best Professor I have had at JMU! Calc is not easy but she makes it so much simpler. She let us work in groups which was awesome! If you have to take math/calc 205, you must take her. The class is not an easy A, but if you put in the work you can achieve a good grade as she is more than willing to help!

She was one of the best math professors I have had here at JMU. She genuinely cares about her students and how well they understand the material. She teaches all of the concepts in a way that is very understandable and schedules out of class help sessions for people who need extra help.

Cutest lil lady ever. I barely passed her class but that's because I'm awful at math and never had a good foundation in it. If you're remotely okay with math you'll pass, just do her homework. It's group homework so you and three other people turn in one sheet and you all get the same grade. Go to her office hours, she is so helpful one on one!!!

8AM's are completely worth it when Prof. Galgano is teaching! She is very clear and cares a lot about her students, just show up & try your best. The material itself is easy if you did fine in middle or high school algebra 1&2. I hate math and mornings and I loved her class

Mrs. G is the most amazing prof I've had at JMU so far. Nicest lady ever, so compassionate, and really knows her stuff. She really cares about all of her students, wants everyone to pass, and wants to make sure everyone is keeping up. You do have to work hard and do well on the tests (you have 3 tests and they make up 85% of your grade.)
