She can bore you to death because she'll lecture you for the first hour or two when it's supposed to be the lab! Her class wasn't all that interesting, so it's better to go to her personally if you need extra help. Take her as a last resort...

Great Professor. Will lecture alot in the beginning of lab, but only because the manual doesnt do a very good job at explaning the procedures. Posts all her notes on blackboard, has review session for lab praticals. Would take her again, definitely.

She's okay. Don't take her in the morning, you'll regret getting out your warm bed. Her class is easy enough, but she'll lie about the due dates on work.

Great teacher, she really knows her stuff. Do not take her in the morning b/c she will put you to sleep. She talks the whole hour and 15 mins. All of her notes are on blackboard, but sure you study the book b/c it can be confusing.

Super boring, but a great professor. She is very helpful because she provides all her notes on blackboard and in the library, she has study sessions for the lab exams and study guides (also on blackboard). Just study the notes and study guides, do the homework because it's extra credit, and go to class.

her lab class is extremely easy but she's a bit annoying. she's very sarcastic and makes stale jokes but she's pretty nice. she just likes to lecture a lot! lab is 3 hours, she talks for 2.5hr and gives u 30mins to do the lab. it's irrating. and she's willing to help u on the hw and her hw aren't even mandetory, they're e.c

she's relatively easy. her test are based off of the lab. 50 questions and they're not multiple choice but if you read her lecture notes you shouldn't have a problem. she also uses the worksheets in the lab book as extra credit which really helps your grade. you also have to do one lab report and a group presentation.

She is so nice but talk like the whole time. She passed a lot of people and we had so much extra credit that it was ridiculous. If u not good in bio then u need to take her immediatly. attendance isnt mandatory unless u want extra credit. She always drop the lowest exam and yea she is a good teach.

Shes a pretty decent professor. she goes over the notes on powerpoint everyday and most of the stuff on powerpoint are on the tests have 6 test and the final is optional. and has a good grade curve

Honestly I suck at Science. I failed my first biology class and I thought I would fail it my second attempt until I took her. She gives you a lot of information and she gives it to you in a way that is easy to understand. She very helpful. I love her! I received an A

She is very nice. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities towards boosting your grade at the end of the semster. Attendance counts towards extra credit. The most important thing to get is the code for Mastering Bio.She does not like disruptions or repeating herself.

i could care less about science. i suck at it.but gottschalk is the best science teacher ever!she gives soo much extra credit. i had someone sign me in most days cuz i ususally overslept her class. missed a test, n skipped the final.the tests i did take, i got D's,didnt purchase a book, point blank, if i passed with a B, those F ppl r *laughs* >:-D

Yo! My onle advice is to come to class that is the best choice you will ever make. Drops two of your lowest test grades, gives extra credit for doing homework, pleae do homework it will help and class project. I passed with a A and she is funny. There’s extra credit added to each exam/homework. Attendance counts towards extra credit. Sometimes she may push back exams for extra time to study or even give take home exams. She drops the lowest exam/homework. There may be a project given that'll take the place of your 2nd lowest exam grade. Overall, Dr. Gottschalk is a very helpful professor.

Dr. Gottschalk made this biology class a piece of cake. She realizes that several people in BSC 1005 are not science majors and was extremely helpful to us. We were given so much extra credit that no one should have failed. She was a tad boring, but it was an easy A!

She gives ALOT of extra credit! Her tests are not that easy and her lectures are boring but overall its not hard to pass the class.

One of the best biology lab teachers! I took her for lab and she was amazing. She's very boring & It wasn't an easy A but she was fair. Gave a lot of extra credit and she even lets students make copies of the lab book so you don't have to purchase it. I would take her again!

Take her class. She gives extra credit for attendance. Do ALL of the online homework and do okay on the tests and you will pass. She dropped the lowest test grade and replaced the 2nd lowest one with an extra credit project. I got a B in her class and I went on test days.

Dr. Gottschalk is amazing, gives a lot of extra credit, you just need to do the work and you'll get an easy A. She is really helpful and will explain anything if you don't understand, you need to study read her lecture notes and her exams will be easy. I got an A. I really wished she was giving BSC 1011. But tbh her classes are kinda boring lol

Well I did the best in her class then any other classes I took my freshman fall semester. She is helpful and if you ask for help she will give it. Please do not text or talk a lot in her class she will ask you do you want to leave. Also she has this big group lab report start that as soon as possible.

lecture is very long and boring but she really cares about the students and wants you to pass. she gives ample amounts of opportunities to improve your grade but it's on you if you take advantage of it. do not interrupt her lecture to ask her any stupid question not pertaining to the lecture. she'll flip out. do mastering biology. not hard.

Her class was kind of hard because of the subject, but I failed every test and got a C. I would take her again ! She gives tons of extra credit, but you have to work for it. Mastering Biology is a must, and it has extra credit attempts. Class is boring because Biology is like her first language. Gives extra credit for attendance.

Very, very boring lady. She has clear deadlines to be met though. Homework is easy and worth a decent percentage if your grade. As long as you get around a 50% average on the tests , you will pass. She talks low. Tests are dreadfully hard.

To sum it up a good professor but a horrible person. She is so sarcastic especially if you try to ask her a question. However she has ton of review material, notes, and practice exams online. She also gives extra credit. She does make you do a group lab report if you take her for lab. Just study and you'll be fine.

You should take her! Sure class is boring but she is willing to answer any questions you have. She gives opportunities for extra credit, and drops your lowest test grade. As far as you do your Mastering Biology you should pass the class. The final is optional if you like your grade. From my experience it was an easy A.

she is by far one of the best teachers you can take at FAMU for any bio course. I barley showed up, I just made sure i did my mastering biology and I managed to pass with an A. He exams are kind of hard so you have to study but she puts up study guides for you. She also give extra credit so take advantage of it.

Sweet, sweet lady. She is one of those teachers to help you pass if she sees your trying your best. Barely came to any classes, and passed the class with a high B. i cant complain. she is a bit boring in lectures though. attendance is only used of extra credit in lecture

She lectures in Lab so if thats not something your into, don't take her. She is known for making lecture last the entire 3 hours. sit in certain spots and you can cheat if your into that. her tests are really comprehensive and WRITTEN, Not multiple choice. Lecture attendance is mandatory.

I totally loved her class but it may be because I already love biology. I know many others had a tough time. She gives loads of extra credit just because: take home test, open book/computer test, extra points on lots of things, grade curves, drops your lowest etc. The final will over ride your grade if you choose to take it.

Take during the summer you will receive an A during the spring and summer you have to work harder and she tougher. You don't have to come to class everyday during the summer. The last exam she let you use your notes phone or laptop test before that will be a take home one, she gives a lot of extra credit, she drops the lowest test grade.

You can't fail Dr Gottschalks classes.

Best prof. for Bio 1010 on campus, I hear. All 1010 lectures teach from boring powerpoints; but Gottshalk stood out: she gave us a take-home exam, we got to use books/notes on last exam, final was optional (only take if you desperately need to up your grade), she really does know the class, she updates Blackboard. Won't tolerate talking in lecture.

Gottschalk is a solid choice if you are good at studying on your own. Her lectures are really boring so I would read her lecture notes myself to learn the material. She dropped 2 of our lowest test grades, gave an extra credit project, a take home test, and the final was optional. You will have many opportunities to bring up your grade. JUST STUDY!

Dr. Gottschalk is very boring, but if you want to take a Biology class and actually pass, she's the one for you. She gives lots of extra credit and numerous opportunities to bring up your grade, there should be no reason anyone should fail her class.

Gottschalk is the best teacher ever!! She gives a lot of oppurtunities to get your grade together, so if you don't pass with a "B", let alone a "C", then it's entirely on you. She's a chill teacher in my opinion and it's easy to "get answers" during a test lol.. I would take her again if she taught BSC1011 lecture.

Her lectures are pretty boring but I HIGHLY recommend her. Because of the hurricane, she gave us a take-home test and an open book/open note test towards the end of the year. She gives extra credit for attendance and work sheets so GO TO CLASS! The Mastering Biology study tools really help too.

This class was not hard at all she gave the class a 40 percent curved and i'm not the best in Bio 1 but she also gives alot of extra credit so that would be your curve since she doesn't curve tests. Her lectures are very boring I never paid attention in class but attendance is extra credit too but just study for the test.

i literally failed most of the tests and passed with a B. I recommend that you show up to class because that is extra credit. Do all of the online homework and the Blackboard homework she posts. That is all filled with extra credit.

She is great!! I passed the class with a B. Do all of the MasterBio. on Pearson, homework, and extra credit. It will help. Make sure to look at the SYLLABUS to know how to calculate your grade (I dont mean at the end of the semester). Go set appointments with her!

She will start lecturing for at least hour, so you wont be getting out early anytime soon. Test are easy & written. She have study guides & practice test on Bb. Test posted on the board during class and each question is timed. DONT BE LATE FOR CLASS ON TEST DAYS!! Meet up with her because she will help you & allow make-up test. EXTRA CREDIT

Take her!!! Gives lots of extra credit. It's a bio class so of course it's not going to be easy. Do the extra credit and go to her office hours and you'll pass. You have to buy pearson for the book and homework. All hw is on quilt

Dr. Gottschalk just reads through her powerpoints during lectures and uploads her powerpoints, chapter summaries, and study guides so you don't really have to attend her lectures, but she gives extra credit to those who attend every class. Read the book and take the cumulative tests on Pearson because the questions on the exams are the same.

Her lectures are long and boring. However, you get extra credit from going to class, an A in her class is an 88.5%, you get extra credit for completing the homework, and the homework and quizzes aren't that hard

Dr. Gottschalk is lecture heavy, but its really easy to pass the class with effort. She gives extra credit and will help you as long as you ask. Using practice test on my lab helps a lot.

I never paid for the lab so I didnt do any of the hw because in her syllabus, the breakdown of the grades show the test outweigh the hw grades. so I passed all the test with a B or higher and I ended with an 82% in the class and I didnt have to take the final because it is optional. The test are on lock down browser but all the answers are online

She explains the material very well. She gives a lot of extra credit including coming to class. She also drops your lowest test grade and the final exam is optional.

Professor Gotschalk was very easy. Class was moved online after 2 weeks and test were all through lockdown browser. Lectures are super long and boring. But there are outlines of the notes. All homework is through mastering biology Pearson. Lots of extra credit given and final is optional. Complete 5 tests and if you like your grade then you're good

Having her class as an online student was very simple. There are 5 exams and a final. However, the final is optional. There are assignments on MyLab and quizzes in canvas, but for the quizzes we literally had the whole semester to complete them. She gave extra credit. TAKE HER.

I made sure I got this professor again next semester, it's a fully online class. There is a lot of homework but i got it done within the first two months so I only had to worry about the exams. TAKE HER CLASS!!! She reopens assignments and gives extra credit, there's no reason to fail. Easiest class I've ever taken.
