Shes a very fair professor. You re-write all your essays with corrections she makes for you. It so easy to do well. Show up and participate and its an easy A.

The class becomes fun--by week two. She gives a mild amount of reading assignments. A Normal amount of essays. She gives every student a chance to participats. Even if your late or not late. She is a nice professor. Whome gives a few test. I would recommend her to any futer student who has her as a professoer in there schedual.

She is a great teacher. Very Nice woman. Helped me many times and had patience to help anyone with anything. There was about 3 essays that make up your grade however some had to be revised. Watched one Movie. She is very enthusiastic about English.

she is a great teacher but you have to show up in class.she makes her students watch lots of movies, and will help you when you when you need help. she is a very smart Lady and loves students who works hard. i had an A in her class and i am in the honors program now cos of her. she will help you if you give her the chance to do so. i am taking her

Prof. Hromulak is one of the best educators I have ever had. The best way to describe her is "POISTIVE." She has this gift for encouraging her students in a way I have never seen before. I have taken two of her classes. In fact, I chose the second one because she was teaching it. Very helpful and always willing to spend time with students.

shes alright. grades really really hard on essays. her class isnt that painful and she really likes feedback. not great, not bad. she is really helpful though if your willing to ask.

She's a really nice teacher but u must pay attention to what she says in class. She expects your work to be handed in a certain way so please do so or else u WILL fail......

She has perhaps been the most influential professor I have had. She makes class interesting, and makes an effort to get to know you. A bit tough with papers, but her grading is helpful. She will guide you on proper technique, without boring you. After her class, you could ace a paper at Harvard. She is the best!!

Amazing, inspirational, and caring. She truely maked you work hard to improve you skills. She has so much faith in her students and allows you to revise your essay. I definately want to take another class of hers.

Never be late to class!!! Other than that she is a great teacher. She can be a tad annoying and she is a very hard grader. However, she is there to help, use her office hours. If you show you are dedicated she will help you out so much. I reccomend her.

At first I wasn't sure if I would make it through her class. She should probably be teaching at Yale or Cornell. But I got 'quite accustomed to her manner of speaking of the academy' and used my dictionary A LOT. My writing is better for it and I am greatful for having her.

LOVE HER! if you do the readings & TRY to answer the 3 to 5 questions per reading (1 to 2 a week, so much work! /sarcasm) you will get an B- in this class easy. Try a tad harder. participate in class & write the 3 500 word essays (again that is so hard! 500 words!) You have a real shot at making a A. she is a warm, caring & really down to earth

Seriously an amazing professor! Ivy league lecture at NCC price. I can only hope every prof i have from now on cared even a third of what she does for her students. She makes you think. You will write critically thinking papers but isn't this what college is for? 3 - 2 page papers, A few question HW's. and class discussions. Would take again!! A+

She is an amazing teacher...for people who want a challenging teacher who will help them improve and actually learn then she is for you. At first, you will think she is really hard, but she is just organized and really cares about her students. Really fun class too. 3 papers, some homeworks, and one presentation. EASY A

Absolutely incredible professor. True lover of literature and explorer of thought! She is an established member of the academy and will rigorously train you to think and write in a scholarly fashion. Not an easy A. Must do the reading, must stretch your mind! Also MUST attend class, but class is a gift because lecture is so fascinating

Professor Hromulak is an exceptional educator who genuinely cares about her students? academic success. She's helpful & is open to others' points of view re literature. She'll not compromise her integrity when grading & has zero tolerance for lateness so keep that in mind when choosing her class. Very knowledgeable and highly recommended

The quality of the work she teaches is very high. She makes the class interesting and exciting with he open discussions. She is no walk over at all. Do her work , communicate with her, and you should be able to do well. One of my best experiences at Nassau. Please try to get into her class.

Be prepared to work and on time. You will get rewarded for participation and going to class everyday. She makes you do revisions on some essays. I thought I was going to get a C+ and was shocked when I saw my final grade if she sees your trying and participating you will be fine trust me on that! Just make sure to go to every class.

The class is very interesting. The teacher is very understanding and will pass you if you show up and participate. she is very understanding.( warning she seems very strict in the beginning)

By far one of the best professors I have had the honor of being taught from. Wonderful teacher. Excellent clarity and material. In all honesty I was retaking the course but she made Post Modernism extremely interesting. DO NOT blow this class you will get an excellent grade if you do as instructed and be attentive in class.

Dr. Hromulak is a wonderful teacher. Not only is she incredibly intelligent but she truly values the opinion of each one of her students. I've taken several English classes before at Nassau, and no one helped me as much as Dr. Hromulak. She goes above and beyond when discussing works of literature in the class. I plan on taking her again.

She is a wonderful teacher. She is sweet and really gives those dedicated a chance to revise essays. An opportunity that isn't given to all. She believes everyone has potential and doesn't give up on you. The work may be confusing to those who haven't taken any previous Shakespearean courses but if you do the work and understand it, you'll survive.

This wasn't an easy class for me but I ended up with an A. The class can be pretty boring but she's a cool woman. Homework can be a little challenging!!

Given only 2 absences and takes attendance at very beginning of class (she seems tougher about those two in the beginning of the semester). As long as you read, show up to class, and actually pay attention you should do well. She's nice but can get annoyed and threaten quizzes if the class is dead quiet after having been given a reading assignment.

One of the best English professor's. I really enjoyed her class. She seems tough and intimidating at first; however she's very understanding, and also provides the time to help you when in need. She doesn't tolerate nonsense so don't expect to pull a fast one on her. Overall show up prepared and willing to learn. She's absolutely great.

Nice professor. Assigns a lot of reading, but explains everything the next class. If you don't get it, don't worry, most people don't and she knows that. She assigns very little hw and a few papers, but nothing too crazy. No textbook required, she gives handouts. Not a hard class, but you can't just show up to pass. Don't be late, she hates that!

Such an amazing professor. I was thrilled to be part of her class. I enjoyed every moment of it. She is so sweet, and really cares about you. I felt like she was a mother to me. She is always willing to help you to be successful in her class, and in your other classes. She teaches with so much passion, and seems to love it. YES, do NOT be late.!

She gives brillant analyis on readings and really makes you understand the deeper meaning behind text. She gives blunt but honest feedback on your work which helps you out a lot. No textbook required and deff dont be late to class; she will call you out! But overall shes a really caring, great professor. 9/10

at first I thought she was a little anal, however, she is just compassionate about her work and she really cares about the student's welfare of passing and not just for the class, but for the future. if you are having difficulty she will always make time to tutor, if you cannot write or don't like to write she is the best person to take!!!!

I had the pleasure of having her for Psychoanalytical Approach to Literature. One of the best professors at this school. She has a passion for teaching her field of English and loves to share. Get involved and read her book, yes she makes her own notebook for this class. Very entertaining, witty and fun. Loved her.

Dr. Virginia Hromulak class was fantastic and I enjoyed every minute of it. The readings were so exciting and the discussions were even better. I could always count on her for help and to give great feedback, I would definitely take any class this professor teaches.

Dr. Hromulak was honestly such a great, caring prof. Anyone who talked down on her is jus buggin cause if you jus behave respectfully, participate, do the assignments, and be punctual with ur attendance, your golden.

Gives a lot of papers to write and I was incredibly shocked on seeing how low I got on my first draft. even though I got a 90 on my English regents. She really makes you write as a college student and take literature to a whole new level. she has a final exam of writing one of your old papers in class again but with the new feedback she put in.

For an honors professor, she's one of the best around. Her lessons are straight to the point and she's really cool. Responds to emails quickly and is very helpful outside of class. The readings she assigns are some of the best around. Only complaint was the constant changes in syllabus, but that is the real world. Wish I could take her again.

The most adorable teacher I've ever had -- super sweet, big heart, really loves her job! She's really informative so take notes! Do the assignments! Watch the (2-3) movies! Pay attention! Talk to her when you have something to say, ask questions, and participate! She's loves an interactive class! Seriously, it was SUCH a pleasure to be her student!

I took two of her classes and absolutely love her. I wish I took more of her courses. A few tips if you have her: DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE, do the readings and participate (she loved our class because we had productive lectures). I cant compliment her enough, shes one of the sweetest and hardest working English profs st the college.

Dr. Hromulak's Masterworks class was light years beyond any English course I have taken at NCC because she is someone who really KNOWS and loves what she teaches. She has a high work ethic and a sharp analytical mind that inspires engaging class discussions. Spend a semester with her; do the work and you will take your skills to the next level.

Shes an easy grader, but will come off very strict in class. She does NOT allow phones, nor will she let you goof off in class. Very intelligent and enjoys instruction and reading your essays. Shes VERY accessible via email, office hours. My biggest criticism would be when she went off a few times in class about her conservative political views.

Very great teacher, get you prepared for the real world, made watching movies fun yet entertainable. Papers and tests were a must do but overall very easy gave enough time to do. 10/10 Great Prof.

Dr. Hromulak is one of the best professors I've had. She's extremely knowledgable. She takes her time to give feedback to her students and truly cares about making them a better writer. Dr. Hromulak was a mixed bag for me. I could not stand her conservative political views. She was also very strict with attendance, phone use, participation, and sometimes rude. She is VERY particular with formatting and you will need to study heavy for the tests. She is a very fair grader, and willing to help in any capacity.

She gives a lot of reading material and will assign essays that needs to be perfect by her standards. Deadlines are crucial and you can't submit anything late. But she's very sweet and the reading material is enjoyable. I enjoyed her class a lot and will likely have her as my professor again.

Prof. Hromulak truly cares about her students. Her class was mainly comprised of DBs, with a few essays. She was always available via email and quick to respond. She offers recorded lectures to supplement the in person teachings missed in online learning. Postmodernism could be tough at times, but she was great at explaining the concepts. 10/10

I had her fall of 2023 and gotta say she is the most kind hearted professor who always has a passion on teaching English & inspiring others to be better. Professor Hromulak is a tough but fair grader. Her class requires a lot of work, but if you engage with the material and use helpful resources like unstuck study, you can succeed. She loves teaching and will support students who put in the effort.
