She was pretty good at explaining things. I pretty much never used my book. But I'm usually good with sciences, so if you're not, you may have to do your homework, read the book, and prepare for the exams. She was fun, and she always tried to get the class to participate; she wanted people to enjoy her class.
I only had her for lab, but she was really nice, helpful during office hours, wrote great, concise notes on the board, and likewise explained things in a clear, concise manner.
Excellent and hardworking teacher! Don't miss her classes, copy what is on the blackboard, do your homework and be aware of the pop up quizzes if you want to get an A!. And you don't need the textbook at all!
Very nice! :D I took this course before with another teacher & failed b/c of her accent. With Miller, it's MUCH easier. There's no homework, the quizzes are easy, & everything's explained in detail. We don't skip around in the book, which is much easier. I suck at chem, but she finally explained dimensional analysis to me! Thanks, Ms. Miller!

Excellent teacher! Very good at explaining things. Very organized and helpful. I was never good in Chemistry, but I understood everything in her class! Expect quizzes every week. But if you attend classes regularly and understand things, it's real easy. Exact reflection of what she teaches in class.
I do not care if you beleive me or not ut you better do bc otherwise you will suffer. she gives you pop up quizes that counts towards one test grade they are really hard. 3 tests which are extremly hard . she does not curve , or help you to raise your grade no mater how hard you work . most of the time people fail her class and if you really work h
She is a great professor. She does give a pop quize almost everyweek. However if you take her course you will find out the trend she uses to administer these quizes. The test is very strait forward, everything from the books. She will always help you no matter what. if you want to learn and study basic chemistry take her course.
I have to say she is a strict teacher, however she is very helpful and friendly. There are quizzes every week, so that made me study the material from the week before, so when the final came I did not have to study as much. She grades fair, if you do the practice problems and hw from book then the test then it will help preapre you for the tests.
She is. Very nice teacher, knows what she is talking about and knows how to explain it. As long you do your work in class, you will pass this class. She doesn't leave homework 95 percent of the time..but it's recommended. Great professor.
very bad nomatter how hard you work you will recieve a c please do not take 102 with her she is really hard with grading. do not take her lab she makes every thing complicated other lab prof are better than her. i studied so hard for her class and still did not getthe grade i wanted.do not take with her otherwise you regrate it
Please People do not read the Ch100 comment if u planning to take CH102. I took her lab and leacture. on lecture she have pop quizes which is very hard and she add all of them and counts as test. her 3 tests are hard. PLEASE IF U WANT TO LEARN CH AND GET GOOD GRADE do not take her. If you take her make sure you study 40 hours a weak. GOOD LUCK
O no I regret taking this teacher. My friend who took chemstry with different prof. Got a good grade. CH 102 is not hard class but this prof is crazy. her test and quize are bomb. she gives banch of question with short time. IF you planning to take her I do not now what to say but enjoy misrable simster with her please avoid her as much as possible
Be ontime. Read from book right before class, then she will make more sense. I learned so much from her, it was amazing. She's organized and articulate. We were all terrified of her, though! She's quite strict. Has no patience if your late. Don't talk while she's talking. If your sincere and respectful, she responds in kind. Best teacher I've had.
she needs help. cant teach at all.
She is a A+ teacher. She is organized and helpful. She sends emails to remaind you what to bring for every lab, gives study guides, takes the time to review and correct hw.Answers emails fast. In lab,she is willing to answer questions and the best of all,she is good at explaining things so you can understant what you are doing and why. But notaneasy A
Prof Miller is THE BEST professor I've EVER had. She deserves to be at a 4-year school. In class, she is very organized and her lectures are clear and concise. She really shines outside of class; she's always ready to answer (and is great at answering) and questions you have. Her two introductory chem classes decided my major.
she is very Intellegant she knows her stuff but her pop quizes are really annoying ! i do think that she is a hard grader, you get no home work all your grades are based off of your pop quizes and test. keep in mind she does not do make up test or quizes whether your father mother uncle or brother died she does not do any make ups at all !!
Great teacher! very nice! likes to give pop quiz
if u want to fail and waste yr money take her
Dr. Miller is great. The thing about her is,she gives pop quiz which means that u need to be ready for each n every class u attend. Very helful. She is very organized. Right now,I am doing better in CH101 cuz of her. Take her as a teacher... Thanks Dr. Miller
Her tests are super easy if you just take the time to study for them. I am in that same classs where half failed an exam, and its because they didn't bother studying, come on most of the work is simple math that the professor spends alot of time in class teaching. And Dr. Miller really does care about her class and is more than willing to help.
Took her for 100A she was great, quizzes and worksheets consistent with the exams. Had her for 102=DIFFICULT. Be ready to WORK. NO quizzes only exams and the finals. No curve. Read the book, do the practice problems and the discussion worksheets. Ask for help! Study as much as you can for the exams because they are really challenging.Good Luck.
Way too strict. She seems bipolar and she will kick you out of lab in a heartbeat if your 5 min. late or dont do pre-lab questions. If you are taking other hard classes or more than 4 classes she is not recommended at all.
Organized professor but TOO strict. 3 exams + final. That's it. Exams are very long. If you are taking her, make sure you are not taking more than 3 classes or 12 credits.Attendance not mandatory, but her notes are helpful for the test. I've heard she's also too strict for lab. Unless chem is world, take it with her.
Lectures are very organized and easy to follow. Discussion is great and she is very helpful. If you want to pass the class do the following: go to class, pay attention, do ALL the discussion and textbook problems and ask questions if you have any. The class is not impossible, but you have to do your work and a lot of it! Good Luck!
Extremely well organized and knows her stuff! Prof. Miller has high expectations but if you do well in class you will be very well prepared for higher chem course. She is available for help. Tests are comprehensive and cumulative. She makes the material stick with you. Highly recommend for serious chem students.
She talks a little fast but her explanations are crystal clear and even if you don't understand what she says, she can easily clarify. It's not an easy class, but hey it's chemestry. I wasn't particuarly interested in chem when I walked in but she made it more fun. and we made silly putty on the last day of class!!
Lectures were clear and concise, but there is little room for error in her class. Nearly all of your grade comes from tests. No quizzes, and the homework is all self administered. The tests contain a TON of information too. Her classes is doable, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Whoever that says she is not a good professor, did not come to college to learn. Honestly Prof Miller is what a true professor should be. She is crystal clear and if you listen and dont chat, or go on your phone or anything like that..you will get it. her exams are never harder than what she has taught in class. TAKE IT W HER.I LOVEDD HERRRRRRRRR
Great professor! I just finished taking her for summer session I and she is absolutely great! Loved her, you will not regret taking her for CH100A, I got an A so it is definitely possible!!
Tried harder in this class than I have in any class I've taken. I had been told before that she seems to group people on her good side and on her bad side and if you're on her bad side you are screwed. A few of us showed up 4 minutes EARLY to lecture and were kicked out for rudely interrupting class time, even though class didnt "start" until 10:30
2nd time through the class. First time ended with a D..don't do summer for Chem..lol. Same teacher, got it so much better this time and to the previous poster, you were extremely rude coming into class. All 3 or 4 of you were a few minutes late, you talked through the whole class and were just plain annoying. She should have kicked you out sooner.
She is very clear with lectures but her class is not that easy, lecture grades only consist of tests which are extremely hard. Take her if you up to the challenge, i had to repeat ch102 all over again
She is a nice teacher and explains everything clearly. She will help you if you ask for it. However, she is a hard grader. If you are trying to breeze through the class, she is not the one that you want to take. Had her for lab and we had to basically do a formal for every lab while other professors didn't require it. She expects a lot from you.
OMG!!! She kicked me out of the CH 101 Lab on the first day for not having my notebook and lab manual. She is very strict. you are out of the class if you are late. do not take her in the summer, but fall and spring are okkkk.
Best and hardest lab teacher. Difficult grader. However, you learn to do your best work, and it helps when studying for the final lab exam! I wasn't a fan in the beginning, but I loved her by the end of the semester. So clear and helpful during the lab. Formal lab for every class, but you actually learn. Gives a template for every lab report.Smart
She teaches very well. She is hard and very organized. She grades very carefully. She care about students and does her best to teach them well. I liked her method and her class. Although we had lots of homework specially for lab, it worth taking the course with her because her students are very knowledgeable after this class. I would take her again
Dr. Miller might have her PhD from Princeton, but she does not teach at all. She expects you to learn the material through the textbook and do the work in class in groups. You're paying $$ to read the textbook. Lastly, she is a very, very tough grader compared to other chem professors. AVOID HER
I took CH102 with her.she is not an easy going one but she is crystal clear about what she wants from you in the exams. If you want to learn I highly recommend her
Great teacher!!! will take her again
She is a very tough professor and she does not teach at all and expect you to learn by other sources.
The worst professor I have ever taken. when they said you will learn the whole material by myself I thought it was going Ok but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO literally she won't show you anything or teach .she is the hardest grader too more than 60% of the class droped after midterm and yes am one of them. avoid her at any cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want to do worksheets every single class take her class. If you want to have a teacher who lectures and teaches do not take her.
She does not teach, ever. She gives you papers online that you have to print and fill out then you take an online quiz on the new topics, before you even cover it in class. My class was 30 students at the beginning, now it's close to 10. Her tests are hard, no bonus points.DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO DO POORLY IN CHEM. WORSTTT TEACHER!
This teacher is a very very hard grader. She DOES NOT have lectures and expects you to learn everything from the book. Please listen to my advice and not sign up for her class unless you are up for the challenge. She has online quizzes every week and also expects you to bring a binder with dividers and a hole puncher or you will lose points.
Dr. Miller is actually a pretty good professor. She is strict and does expect a lot out of you as a student, but her method of teaching is excellent. After all, this is college, not high school. She's always very willing to help if you don't understand something. If you want a good grade in the class you pretty much have to work for it.
I'm taking the class right now and she is the horrible teacher i have ever had in my life. i wish i can drop the lab and take it next time. plz plz don't you ever try to take her class, her satisfaction is droping students. She doesn't help at all, all she say is read ur text book and give you a bunch of homeworks that you dont have any idea of.
Dr. Miller is the best professor I have had so far. She is strict and demanding, but it actually helps you stay organized. Her knowledge of the subject is great and you can tell that she really enjoys teaching. Pay attention in class, study at home, and go to her office hours frequently and your guaranteed to get an A. I will be taking her for 101.
if your taking her class, You Must pay attention in class and do your homework. if you don't , you probably won't do well. She is a nice and strict professor. i recommend her if you can pay attention in class.
Great professor!!She is really nice explains the process clearly!I understand why some said she's a strict grader but really just follow her rules and be careful, to get an A is an easy thing!
I think I made a mistake taking her class, I mean it's not that I don't like her, it's that I wish she would put a little more effort in clarity and helping students understand the material. I always end up confused so I just end up reading the entire textbook. I would not consider taking her class again nor would I recommend anyone to take it.
She thinks everybody knows chemistry. Her tests are very hard she doesn't curve or give bonus points. Her intention is to fail students but not to teach. There is nothing good about her. She is very BAD! please avoid her or she will make you hate chemistry.
I made an account on this website just to tell you how bad this specific professor is. I have a 4.0. I dropped this lady because of how disrespectful she was to students. Her teaching method involved not teaching but relying on students to teach each other. This might be useful at a higher level class, but caused chaos at the intro 101 level.
Dr. Miller is one of the best professors I have ever taken. Her class is fun and she is really good at explaining material. She is also very helpful during her office hours. Exams aren't too bad if you study hard and go over the worksheets and HWs. We are in college now, so if you want to earn a good grade you have to work for it! Great Professor!
Prof. Miller explains Chemistry very clearly. I don't understand the other guys giving her poor ratings. She is very sweet and kind and is willing to explain anything even in the corridor. I took only CH099 with her, but it was a great base for an A from CH101 then. When I had some problem in CH101 I asked her for help and then I did very well.
THE WORST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD IN MC DOES NOT TEACH AT ALL ONLY GIVE YOU WORKSHEETS EVERY SINGLE CLASS TO DO ON YOU OWN WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION EXPECT YOU TO READ THE TEXTBOOK ON YOU OWN AND LEARN EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF AVOID AT ALL COST. YOU WILL REGRET TAKING HER CLASS
With some of the ratings, I was scared to take her class, but she is honestly my favorite professor. She puts in a lot of effort to help students learn by putting us in groups to discuss with other students and making study guides for every section. Her class is definitely a lot of work, but you actually learn the material. Highly recommend her!!
She can be strict when she needs to be. Especially, to students who are disorganized or slacking. She doesn't give any extra credit. You must make sure to do well on your test which is the bulk of the course grade. Class is composed of lecture and then group work. She doesn't give answers to the course work. Makes it hard to study without solution
She use a teaching method that do not works for everybody, she is not flexible at all and do not help students struggling; instead she can be really rude and mean.
that is funny how she got, a 3.5 rating, this chick dont even deserve a 0.1 that is too much for her. sorry i said chick, that is because there is noting about her like a teacher, she is so mean, rude, hard grader, sarcastic...I hope she quit teaching, so people can learn. leave while you can...
I was a little worried going into her class as I saw her reviews before taken her class but thankfully I learned a lot. She really taught me a lot of material and prepared me for tests. She can be very strict if you are disorganized or don't show much interest in the class. I'm taking her as well for Chem131. She knows the material very well.
Ive taken Chem with at least 5 different professors, and Prof. Miller is by far the best. There is a lot of work and reading required, and you must be organized but this is her way of preparing you for your future. She actually cares. Such an inspirational and motivational woman. Every time I leave her class, I want to work harder.
She WILL NOT tell you if you did an assignment wrong or right. Numerous practice assignments with no grades attached. Tests will have no study guides. You are responsible for all the material in the book even if she doesn't cover it. The answer keys to the test after you take them will not have the answer, instead they will say "See in book" !!!!!!
she is a really good professor. However, she is a tough grader. she is clear and very helpfull. you ask her and she id glad to help. i would definitely take her class again, but as my class mate i dont think so.
One of the better chem professors at MC Rockville Campus, but she could use a little work. She's a tough grader, but she is decently fair and she knows what she's talking about for the most part (still a confusing class though). Take her instead of Timothy Watt because she is slightly better than him.
Her class is very hard, but she is the first teacher I ever understood chemistry with. She does a nontraditional lecture style where we work in groups and teach each other the material. Lectures rarely, but is always ready to explain something. While she is tough, she is very fair and an amazing teacher. I took her for CHEM099 too. She is perky.
Phenomenal professor! Clear cut on what she expects from you and super organized! She gives plenty of worksheets to help you for the tests, and she's super helpful during her office hours! She was great for lab too! I was scared to take her, but I'm so glad I did, she's now my favorite professor ever! She dresses no nice too! Such a great professor
I really enjoy Prof Miller's teaching style. She is very straightforward and does not give answers for worksheets, but instead guides you through the problems and allows group work. This may seem irritating at first but is extremely helpful in truly comprehending the lesson. You will notice the material sticks with you and it pays off in exams.
Chem is a hard subject. Dr. Miller lays the topics out nicely. I enjoy her teaching style. She gives you lots of worksheets to work on in groups. You definitely need to read the material before class. If you do what you're supposed to and study, you'll do well. Don't slack off. She's extremely helpful during office hours as well.
worse professor I ever had in my entire life.
Professor Miller is an excellent professor. She really cares about whether you grasp the concept behind each chapter. If you attend class regularly, participate, and do the study guide chapters, you'll definitely pass. She answers any question, and will bring enthusiasm to lecture. READ the chapters before Class!
She is quite strict and a bit uptight, but it is exactly what I expect from a teacher. She makes sure that her students are following her lessons with vivid understanding although, that may not always be the case. She is nice, but she sets up boundaries within the classroom. Make sure you read the book and listen to her discussion!!
gives us worksheets but we simply teach each other since we are sat in groups. Doesnt give out any answers to worksheets nor hw. its by completion she doesnt really teach for 5 mins at beginning of class then its just group worksheets. Tough grader and doesnt allow messiness. If you are late by 5mins or have a "disorganized" binder you get 0 points
There will be all group work in lecture/discussion. She is very very strict when it comes to being late for anything, so if you don't care about your grade, don't take her. She does explain clearly, but MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK. I barely passed this class with a C, but none of it was her fault.
It really is a hard class, but Dr. Miller with her rather unorthodox teaching methods, really gets the job done in ensuring you succeed. Listen to her advice! She knows what she's talking about. There is no lecture - it's all group work and THAT is the best way to learn, as I have come to accept. Such a great professor, I highly recommend!
Great professor! strict as hell, but super clear. Nice and available after class (both in email and in person), and give you all the possible resources to succeed in the class.
I took her spaceflight themed class, and it was a lot of fun. She is a tough professor, but as long as you follow her guidelines you will do well. Do her study guides, and participate in class. She doesn't lecture, but instead has everyone work in groups. Super approachable and helpful. STUDY OUTSIDE OF CLASS; DON'T BE LATE!
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SOUL. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. SHE DOESNT LECTURE AT ALL. INSTEAD SHE JUST HANDS OUT WORKSHEETS AND HAVES YOU COMPLETE THEM IN ASSIGNED GROUPS. DOESNT GIVE OUT ANSWER KEYS, EVEN ON SNOW DAYS. IM ON MY KNEES TYPING THIS BECAUSE IM BEGGING Y'ALL TO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, YOU WILL REGRET IT. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.
Dr. Miller is an okay teacher. i had her for chem 99 and i did okay. i was expecting to do better in chem 131 being that i knew her but i thought wrong. If you are not a super hard worker that will be 100% dedicated to this class and only this class please don't waste your time in taking this teacher. she MAKES you work for your grade.
She is strict. If you're not a responsible student or there is too much going on don't sign up for her class. But you would be missing out on a great prof. She knows her stuff, it's impressive. You hope one day you can know your field of work the way she knows her. She breaks down information so well, she can make hard concepts easy to understand
Dr. Miller doesn't deserve any of the bad reviews. She is hands down a great professor! chem isn't even my favorite subject but she is just a really engaging professor. I look forward to going to class. That doesn't mean its easy. You have to work for the grade and there are no second chances. Work hard and you'll do well.
IF YOU'RE EXPECTING AN EASY A THEN LOL. Guys this is chemistry. Ofc it's gonna be difficult. If you're a crybaby and love to complain and blame others for your failures then good luck in life but if you want to prove yourself and work hard to achieve something, take her class. SHE RECOGNIZES POTENTIAL and supports you. Just work hard consistently.
Bad teacher. doesnt care about her students. Oh just show up and do a worksheet. If you dont understand it then too bad! Oh and the exams? Way harder and covering stuff we didnt even do in class. Shes lazy and entitled. Go with a real teacher instead of this useless hack
Ive read many comments saying that shes a bad professor. I dont think that is true. She requires students to learn the material out of class then assess their knowledge in class by via group work. The hw she assigns will become your notes for exams, so of course, she requires people to do them. Its not hard. You legit just fill in the blanks.
this class is not as simple as fill in the blanks. this teacher does not care about any of her students except to make us feel stupid for even daring to ask her a question. she refuses to respond to emails and refuses to lecture and teach us. DONT TAKE her if you want to succeed. otherwise prepare for lots of frustration and tears
Mandatory group projects and participation. Ask questions and you lose points. Dont like your group or feel uncomfortable talking to them? You lose points. No lecture no notes to study off of. Just the group projects that may or may not be done correctly to use as your study guide. Pedantic grader who takes off points for every single mini error
Just took and failed the first exam. She gave no study guides, no lectures and didnt respond to any emails about questions.
I have only taken her for lab, so I cannot speak about her lectures. She is a picky grader and gets irritated if you ask her a question that was already in the lab instructions. I do not recommend her for lab.
I'm gonna be honest, the worst professor I ever had. Didn't give any review sheets, made you take notes that were never used in class, and never helped her students either through zoom or emails. My advice would be to choose anybody else except her, you would get screwed over if you stay in her class, because you won't learn anything and will FAIL.
Horrible rude person. Doesn't respond to emails or questions asked during class. DROP THIS CLASS IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DON'T WANT A FAILING GRADE ON YOUR GPA. Disgusting person who is full of herself on how many people she can fail. I bet that she gets off from failing people. She doesnt want to help you or teach you got it. She wants to fail you.
Worst professor I've ever had. You have to teach yourself.
Prof. Miller's class is very unique and comfortable. What I mean unique is that she often encourages her students to study ahead of the lecture and take a tiny quiz relating to the new lecture. Moreover, I love the part that we have assignments due before the class begins, but no submission to her. Overall, she is very helpful and passionate!
Dr. Miller is the type of professor that will call you out in class if you are confused and ask for help. She has a quiz due before each class and a study guide as well. She goes fast in her teaching! So if you are someone that needs more time to learn then DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I had to drop because there are no way I was going to pass. BEWARE.
It's clear that Dr. Miller understands what she is talking about, but she doesn't ever teach us it. She expects us to know the material before class. Her flipped classroom is definitely not for everyone. We had quizzes and study guides due before every class. Use the problem sets to study for the exams and you will be okay-ish. She is nice but not.
She's by far the worst professor I've had. She grades based on "Professionalism".Her exams are hard, they are nothing like the examples she gives. She doesn't teach good at all,she gives you sheets to complete with people in your group, and good luck if you sit next to people who don't speak at all. If you're a visual learner STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!!
Professor Miller is a great professor. She has clear grading criteria which is honestly pretty fair for the course. She is really strict when it comes to the schedule in class, if you're late for your labs it affects your grade. She teaches you the reality of being in a professional environment and is open to help if you don't understand something.
Absolutely terrible! Professor WILL not teach you, this is a flipped classroom, and even during class professor is often rude, elitist, and condescending. Professor has 0 interest in teaching, and will turn a easy class, into a hard class. I passed this class through getting extra help from other faculty. Most in my class DID not pass.
Extremely hard professor to work with, entire class struggled with her as a professor. Oftentimes ignored student concerns, and grades based on her own standards. Will not give you an A, unless you get a perfect on the final exam, and consistently get above 95 on all exams ( impossible). The only thing saving my grade is the lab with another prof.
A general opinion in my chemistry class, is that this is one of the WORST professors ever, I am Dual enrollment so I didnt get a choice to be in her course, however AVOID if you have the choice.
I should have taken her reviews seriously when I started this class, they dont lie. Dont risk your GPA for this professor.
Excessively rude and condescending professor. Does not attempt to teach, or help with student learning. Often unapproachable, and dismissive. Can be microaggressive, and also ignores student concern. This class was horrible, the only people who get a C or above in her class, are those with prior chemistry knowledge ( AP ). Drop her.
I've never wanted to see a professor get fired so bad. Please consider emailing the department chair, about her, if you also had a bad experience with her. Do not recommend wasting your money or time for this " flipped classroom" bs prof. People in my class who dropped her for other professors, did much better than I currently am.
She's actually a narcissist. She loves seeing students fail, and gets a power trip from being a bad professor. Hope the department fires her, and the dean removes her pedantic sick self.
Flipped course where students teach themselves and complete quizzes BEFORE class. Class time is spent completing self-worksheets, not teaching. Workload is extreme, have to print HW guides, and 8–10 hrs/week of work is expected. Exams are difficult and rushed, with “Professionalism” as a grade. Not recommended to take with other hard/STEM classes.
Horrible flipped classroom, professor just assigns hours of pointless busy work, and expects students to spend 8 to 10 hours a week on an INTRODUCTORY COURSE! Highly do not recommend taking her if you have a job, or other hard STEM classes. Professor also grades based on a biased “ professionalism” rubric, and can be passive aggressive and hostile.
Professor is inconsiderate towards students, often expects students to do a ungodly amount of prep work for her flipped classroom, and meets you with snobbery when you go in for tutoring or office hours with hers, has a weird philosophy of only certain people deserving a STEM degree. She's quite elitist and honestly just a low vibrational person.
Such a trash grader. Lazy, and unhelpful during office hours, drop before it's to late.
Failed my finals, she lacked preparation for finals, and made us buy a 50 dollar book which was useless.
I regret taking this class so much, my whole class is crashing out at how bad she is !!!!
Not a great professor. Just doesn't have a teaching style, expects students to do multi hour long study guides twice a week, can grade very blunt, and unforgiving, does not excuse sick absenses. Miss class it's over. Hard to get even a B , so take another prof if u need to maintain a high GPA. Also won't write rec letters.
Not a great professor, caught her talking about students after the final exams, rubbed me the wrong way. Harsh grader, and doesn't teach, uses a flipped classroom, only good thing about her is she grades on time, and sets realistic expectations in terms of grades.
By far the worst lecturer for chem 131 so far. We were always unprepared in lab, because she never taught material, and her study guides were inconsistent, also she likes to make up her own rules, and only quits her petty behavior when other faculty are involved.
If your goal is to retake this class, take her as the professor, otherwise RUN as far away as possible. Won't even round you .20% to turn your D to a C, adamant on students retaking, and takes no accountability for her actions.
She is definitely getting worst over the years, had her a year ago, and compared to now she was much better. She got lazier, and ruder this year. Seems to also have outraged more students. Was never a good prof, but now seems nobody is taking her bs.
Low quality teaching style, she uses student study guides, pointless online quizzes to teach class, instead of actually teaching in the CLASSROOM. Has a highly unregulated criteria called " professionalism" which is 50 points, based on how conducive and submissive you are to her treatment. Basically she gives points for being her teachers pet.
I got one of the highest grades in my class, and it's still a pretty bad grade for a STEM major. Overall just do not understand why she sets up her classes as GPA traps. Not a great introductory professor, and has to big of an unrealistic sense of self, to teach an intro class like 131. Just an odd experience, weird, and a waste of time.
Final exams just came out!!! ( Prob explains the influx of ratings )... This professor definitely made we work way too hard for a bad grade, she does not EVER give out an A, and makes that clear. She also purposely scared my class by saying that the final exam would not be CURVED. However it was and I got a 88% !!!!!. She purposely gives bad info
Grades the course like I SLIMED out her dad or something, not really helpful during office hours or tutoring sessions, and makes class harder than needed by having her pointless study guides.
