Dr. Thompson is an awesome professor. She makes the class interesting. She gives out handouts and handouts of the slides. She drops the lowest quiz grade, and adds extra credit points to the next lowest quiz. She goes out of her way to help you, and wants you to pass. If you do the homework and participate you will do great in her class.I got an A-

One of the Best Proffesor...doesn't care about attendence....but you just have to pay attention nd hand in all the homeworks....she is fun....i would recommend you to take this proffesor....

There were some comments that she made that was unhelpful. Although the class was worth only one credit she made it difficult to get an A in the course. The tests were easy (open book)the thing that gets you is actually the homework. the wording gets a little tricky and losing points here and there seems inevitable.

She is a very good professor. I recommended her to a few of my friends at York, especially if your not good at math. She gives you numerous practice handouts, and,extra credit . Also she explains the math problem to you until its crystal clear. What more can you want? But, attendance is necessary, if you miss a class your gonna be lost.

Dr Thompson is awesome. Give you slides and tells you what she expects from you in an exam...gives extra credit but does require you to buy my math lab which cost around $80 but hey if you want an 'A' thats a really good price

Dr. Thompson is a very nice professor, she is neither hard nor easy. The material can be hard if you do not study. As long as you study and do practice problems you will be fine. Should know the concepts or you will get confused. She gives extra credit and partial credit on exams and quizzes.

ms thompson is not an easy prof. student who already know math, the class would be easy for them. she moves too fast nd she doesnt explain things the way for the student to understand. she grades very hard.(ex: if u miss to put a -or + sign, 4 points are gone. take another pro if u wanna pass with at least b. i dont recommend her.

she really does care about her students. if you're not very good at math, i would recommend taking her class, because she doesn't mind explaining the same thing over and over, and encourages you to ask her questions. no need to buy a textbook. very respectful towards students.

Professor Thompson is awesome. She speaks clear english, tons of examples, gets the class really involved, and she is a lenient grader because she gives a lot of partial credit; even curves and extra credit. I don't understand how people are complaining about her speed, for a college course I think her technique was more than fair.

Professor Thompson is the sweetest teacher ever. I took pre calc with her. At the beginning of the semester she goes over college algebra to refresh our brain and then the next week she begins pre calc. She is always willing to help and hears you out. Best professor at york

Math 111. Can't say she is a bad professor but this class requires a lot considering you have 3 or 4 other classes. Homework every Friday , 5 quiz lowest score dropped , midterm, test #2 , finale . Finale is worth 30% of your grade. For both the midterm and finale , the actual test look nothing like the review . Good luck

She is one of the finest at York! I took two different classes for two different Math class with her and it has been the best experience. She gives review before test, and the test are 98% similar to the review. If you do the homework, test review, final review, you will do FINE! She'll explain until you understand! The best Professor!

Dr. Thompson was by far my favorite professor this semester. She is funny, down to earth, and caring. When taking her class you must show up everyday. You learn new concepts mostly every class. If you understand the packet sheet she gives out on the first/second week of class then stay in the class if not then just drop it and find another professor. One of the best professors out there and posts her slides with work done. exams are no-calculator and is similar to her review sheet. only issue is that you have to pay $25 to access hw on lumen which shouldn't be hard. she's also lenient and helps you out often. just pay attention to class, you'll never learn how to do maths if you don't anyways

Took this course in January Winter 2024. Honestly, she made the whole process so easy with handouts and clear instructions for homework and exams. She cares more about concepts than just giving hard problems and she is so nice. Its as if she is your guardian. She gives a lot of handouts and makes it clear what you should study and made calc 1 easy.

Professor Thompson is an exceptional professor! I wholeheartedly recommend choosing her for MATH 120 or 121. She's incredibly patient and willing to clarify any confusing concepts. Additionally, she offers numerous opportunities to earn extra credit. However, it is important to attend class regularly, as each lecture introduces new material.

You need to attend her lectures because there is a lot of material and she will help you with any questions you have. She also recognizes when students are struggling and will always do what she can to help boost their grade but you still need to study a lot for tests and keep up with the homeworks.

Took this professor for calc 1 during the winter session. She is so easy and very humble/kind and makes the lessons clear and to the point. This class was a hybrid session so it really works out during the winter session. Do the hw and watch all the videos and the class will be a breeze. She is always accessible outside of class as well

This professor taught Calc I very nicely in the most simplistic way possible. Just make sure to study her review packets before each exam and you should be good to go. There are also 20 myopenmath hw's throughout this class so make sure you complete them.

I never knew that I would be good at math. She is very humble, understanding, and an amazing professor.

She is nice, gives you extra credit, and never gets mad. If you have a question, you can ask her or email her. There is one online homework per week that you can try as many times as you want. She reviews before. The final project is very simple: you have to write a math question on any topic and difficulty (worth 5%).
