the guy is a freakin awesome teacher. granted the courses are really hard to get an A in. but if you are bad in writing, such as myself, he will definately give you all the help you need to get through the class. I earned Bs in the 115, and 121 though I got Cs in high school english. thats how good he is.

I have taken his class. I'm ganna take another WR with him. He is helpful, funny and good at teaching. I have learned not only how to write better but also how to think deeply before writing. He's changed my writing style. Though many people said to get an A from him was very hard, but it's possible since I got it. Give it a try to take his class.

He trys to scare you but don't be fooled!! Make an honest literary effort and you can get an A. He really isn't so bad. He only trys to act hard. Just show up on time and do your work. Actually a cool guy. Loved his class.

He is awesome!! Yeah, he tried to be tough but he's not! Very easy class but you would learn a lot of stuffs from him! Very helpful. He's a nice guy, though he tried not to be one! As long as you get in on time, you are cool~ He's the best!

He is the teacher I would recommend everyone to take with him at least once. It is better to take the WR115 with him because he will help you with your future classes of writing and with your papers in other classes. However, taking his class one time is enough and enough.

I took his WR115 and it was fun!! Initially it's looks hard, but once you get used to it, he is ok. On the other hand, WR121 was extremely boring...I learned nothing more than prior term, and kept picking on the students who don't do their work. I suggest to take him, but once is enough. Make sure not to take his class for WR121!!!

So the first day he does a great job of scaring you into thinking you have just entered hell (abandon all hope ect.). I am happy that I stuck with his class however. If you don't clash with his idiosyncrasies to much you will enjoy his methods.

Says he has a "big fragile ego." He lets you know he's a jerk who hates the youth of today. If you take his snarky comments with a grain of salt, you can see he wants you to succeed. He is well spoken, down to earth, well traveled, and speaks many languages it seems. He takes daily attendence. He pushes you to be a great writer.

Dont be late and dont smoke outside the front door and you will be fine. Just give 100% effort and he will know that your trying and help you out with your writing. Interesting teaching methods

I loved Mr. Z! I took his class in 1994! oH, TIME FLIES. i HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN CLASSES AND HAVE SEEN HIM AROUND CAMPUS--STILL QUIRKY AND A GREAT PERSON. HIS TEACHING STYLE IS A BIT LIBERAL AND I LOVED IT. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO LEARN, DO THE ASSIGNMENT, PARTICIPATE, SHOW ENTHUSIASM...YOU WILL BE FINE. GO...Z!

Vito WILL try to scare you off on the first day of class. If you drop, you are going to miss out on an amazing experience. He is an amazing teacher-and he thinks he knows everything so what? Mr. Zdanys is not as scary as he tries to act. He is a tough guy when it comes to his attendance and hygiene policies. As long as you do the work, participate in class, and show up to class you will be fine. He can be a bit of jerk at times though. If you feel he crosses the line, tell him. Don't be dumb and come in hungover. Don't drop the class!

I can't stand the guy as a person. He acts like he knows everything, no food or drink in class, and if you come in a minute late beware. He talks the whole class then you write essays for homework. That being said, I've always hated writing and he was the first teacher that made it easy for me. I came out a much better writer. Worth it.

He is an excellent teacher. But the book he chose(ancient rhetorics) was fairly boring and difficult to read. I was rather unsure about writing when I first began his class, now I actually enjoy it.

Zdanys is the best Writing teacher I've had since attending PCC. He is a really serious teacher and actually cares about education, so if students don't want to work and are afraid of the truth, I would suggest not taking him. But overall Zdanys is an Awesome teacher!

I was super intimidated by Zdanys on the first couple days of class, but I am SO glad I chose not to drop the class. Read the text, do the assignments, and be respectful and you'll be fine. No food/drink and you must be on time... not TOO much to ask. Highly recommended. Don't be intimidated!

By far one of the best teachers I've ever taken. Very helpful if you show intrest in the course. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher, just be ready to learn, and be to class on time. I can't wait to take another class with this teacher.

What an amazing teacher. He relieved the anxiety of writing that some students had. He gave the class confidence in ourselves and our writing. His policies are laid back and has an approachable personality. Just get your work done on time and you should be set.

Very very inspirational, has time for every student individually. Loved his class. Broadens the mind about writing and reading responses as well. I miss it!

A great teacher, not the easiest class, but he made it fun. I would recommend this teacher if you don't mind going off topic a bit, because our class did, a lot. But it made it fun and interesting and I still learned quite a lot.

I took his class in 2008 & could not finish the course due to personal issues at the end of the term. He was willing to help me over the summer as well. But I couldn't accept his help at the time. All in all he was amazing and I plan on taking him this fall.

Very smart guy, and passionate about what he teaches. teaching style is a little off the wall but good. if your looking for an Easy A. this is not the class for you. but if you like reading and writing, and don't mind working hard. take this class. its worth it.

Nice guy, even though he says he's not. Does not tolerate disrespectful people. If you show up, do your work, learn from your mistakes, and make a genuine effort you will do great in his class.

His class was very interesting but too easy. He gives a topic and let us write anything. For example, he gives us a topic "Fairy Tales" and then we can write anything about fairy tales. He taught some grammar stuff and it wasn't that boring. You don't need to attend all his classes since he wastes lots of time repeating things at least five times.

I never get A on my writing classe but with Mr. Zdanys I was able to get A on my writing class because he explain everything he want you as student to do. His book is very interesting but very simple to understand if you just follow his teaching and what he want you to do.

I have taken 3 classes w/this instructor intentionally. WR115/121/122. He is by far the most knowledgeable writing teacher I have met. He does NOT hand out a grade but is very fair & encouraging. His lessons are geared to smart people. He got me to believe in my writing & was very encouraging. Great dry humor too. I love & admire this instructor.

You will learn how to write better if you attend class and do the assignments. He expects you to try, but he's also fun and laid back.

I'm a Math major who took this class as a requirement. Vito is one of the most inspirational teachers I've ever had. He is challenging in the best possible ways and he knows the rules of grammar back and forth. Not for procrastinators- his method requires repetition, reflection, and re-writing, but the rewards are definitely worth the effort.

Vito is a great teacher especially if you suffer from anxiety. If you don't like discussions that are way off topic then don't take this class.He likes to talk a lot. Vito is a laid back teacher and helped me be able to write more in quantity and in quality too. He is fun and supports creativity i wish i could have had him for WR 121

Best teacher I've ever had. Mr. Zdanys genuinely wants you to reach your full potential. He is amazing at explaining the technical aspects of creating an essay. He gives you tons of creative freedom and does not grade each assignment, instead he monitors your personal development throughout the term and basically grades you on effort. Learned tons

I took Zdanys's class back in 2005, but here I am 9 years later with the experience still fresh in my mind. His passion for literature and knowledge is inspiring. Take his class if you want a challenging and worth while experience. Some say he rambles, but those people probably watch Jersey Shore.

Likes to talk. He claims to be a "mean guy," but don't let that intimidate you! He might give you a hard time, but it's all in good fun. Deep down he clearly cares about his students' success. Love his approach to writing-discourages rigid structure and encourages spontaneity and creativity. My only quibble: the readings, which I found boring.

He plays off being a really mean professor that is really strict. If you actually stick around in his class, it's worth it. I learned a lot. I feel like I put a decent amount of effort in and got an A which I was not expecting after his big talk on how professor give out too many A's these days. Don't let him scare you awa

He comes off as being not a very nice guy but it is a front. He is actually very nice, intelligent and a great teacher. He makes you work hard and think for yourself. He will make you a better writer. Just don't be late to his class, that drives him nuts even on the first day. Don't let him scare you off.

Vito Zdanys (zda-neese) is really a fun teacher, but he is kind of confusing some times and he tries to be funny in some really awkward ways, like wagging his finger at you sarcastically... it's just weird. but he's a pretty cool guy and he grades pretty easily. would take his class again. no tests, quite a few essays.

Class time was not used efficiently, he just chatted the whole time. BUT, he's an amazing teacher. He really cares that you learn to like writing and take things seriously. Also, expect a lot of sarcasm.

Zdanys' class was really fun! We would discuss as a class how we felt about what we read for our homework assignment, so class was definitely not a snooze fest if you did your work! The writing assignments were fairly easy as well; he made sure everyone understood what was expected. The only really challenging assignment was the final.

He's a great WR teacher I've ever seen. He's a kind person. He's talk a lot in class but it's all the information that you need. I would recommend Vito to everyone. You should TAKE his class.

Mr.Z is the man. He comes of at first as being a bit abrasive and uncaring bit it's quite the opposite. He is an amazing teacher who probably cares more about his students than most teachers. He wants you to succeed. He will give back as much as you put in to the class so do the work and give %100 and that's what he'll give back.

I can honestly say that Zdanys has influenced me more than any other instructor at this college. Unlike other writing instructors I've experienced at this college, Zdanys encourages you to think for yourself, even if your opinion goes against the general consensus of the class. I don't have enough characters to say more, take the class.

I love Vito! He is an amazing teacher. Very sarcastic. He claims that he doesn't care about his students, but he does. He is a little bit confusing in explaining assignments. But he is an incredibly interesting human being. I wish I could take his class again!

Vito is great. He's sarcastic and intimidating at first, it's all apart of his sense of humor. He's actually really sweet, and has a refreshing new approach on learning to write. He hates tardiness, and has a few other quirks about him but he has really inspirational lectures and I wish he taught more writing classes. He's a snazzy dresser too.

Vito is a great instructor! At first he comes across as cold and grumpy. I think it was to weed out the students that didn't want to take his class seriously. After the first two classes four students didn't return. As the term progressed he was caring, supportive, and was obvious he wanted us all to succeed in his class.
