Amazing professor. New to UWL when I took him so I wasn't sure what to expect. He doesn't use the textbook but uses his own outline instead. You get to use your notes, textbooks, and pretty much anything on tests as long as it's not the internet or another student. We almost always get out of class 15-20 minutes early. He is a very easy grader.
Vivek was a super interesting guy. I actually loved going to class and I liked hearing his stories. His tests were open note, although sometimes tricky, if you paid attention in class you'll do fine. He is super down to earth and I would recommend taking him. He makes business law interesting. Go to class, pay attention and take notes: succeed.
Pande is a great professor! He is so down to earth and likeable. Tests are open book/note but still tough. Takes attendance but his class is worth going to. He's really cool to talk with, so definitely see him during his office hours for help with anything. Super nice professor, definitely take him!
Vivek was my favorite professor so far at UWL. His tests are open book open note but still tricky. He is really interesting. I never go bored listening to him. If you go to class your golden he uses alot of the same examples!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! allows you to miss class 4 times, easy project, short class periods, exams are open book. TAKE HIM! he is hilarious & very well prepared!
Best teacher since I have attended UWL. He is very down-to-earth, funny, and approachable. He is always willing to help out students and wants to see each of them succeed. Exams are open book, open note, open whatever just not internet. If you go to class and understand the examples you will be fine. Highly recommend him.
He is by far the best teacher I have had at UWL. Very helpful, friendly, understanding and funny. Open book tests, but they are tricky, you do have to study before taking the tests. Only one project due at the end of the semester. If you go to class and take really good notes, you will be fine! I wish all teachers were like him! Take him!!
I loved him. He cares about his students and he doesn't waste his time telling you useless information. If you aren't interested at all in this stuff, he'll make it interesting.
My favorite teacher by far. He is super helpful and approachable. you DO have to study for his tests, no matter what you think. They are open book/open note so use them and read through them before the test. He is a great teacher.
Vivek is the best. Totally knows what he's talking about from real experience. Super friendly with students. Works from a comprehensive outline of the book he wrote himself so you don't have to read the text. Go to lecture, pay attention, and study. Grades are on one paper and three exams (1 dropped), final and attendance (4 skips allowed)
I wish Vivek taught more subjects, seriously best professor, has previous experience in law and relates all the info to real life (which is what his tests are like), go to class and write down his examples/important info, and go over the outline provided and you should do fine. Takes what should be a boring subject and makes it hilarious/interesti
Vivek was a great guy. All of the exams are open note and open book. He also lets you drop the lowest test score, and grades on a curve. Do not be too lenient on this though because the exams are still challenging. You really need to think about the questions. He has lived every life experience possible and he will tell you about them.
Great teacher I learned a lot. International business law is not something I was looking forward to but he made it as interesting as possible. Funny too!
Vivek is definitely one of the best professors at UWL. Such a friendly guy and really knows what he is talking about. For a fairly boring subject he keeps it interesting. I only rate the easiness as high because he is so good at explaining that it makes class easy. Open book/note tests but study hard or you won't do well. He drops the lowest test
Great guy. The course was managing an envir. socially conscious world. We talked mostly about BUS law. It was interesting and we had lots of fun discussions. Test were open book but not easy. Just show up and you will get a good grade.
Wonderful, interesting, and exciting professor. He knows a lot, about a lot, so it was helpful when he related the material to real life situations. He cares about a student's success and acts as a "friend" in many ways. Do your project on something unique, then it won't be much like "work". His office hours are helpful, just don't fish too much:)
If you ever get a chance take him he is the only true teacher who teaches for his students. Impacted my life more then he will ever know
I had no interest in law prior to this class, but I learned a lot from Vivek. His tests are hard, but fair. By far one of the best professors I have had at UW-L.If you have the opportunity to take one of his classes, don't pass on it.
Vivek is an awesome professor, he is very informative. He makes a dry subject somewhat interesting. If you have to take this class take it with Vivek!
AWESOME Law Professor!!! He makes class interesting and is SUPER helpful outside of class! BEST PROF AT UWL!
Go to class- listen to him intently. Try to sit close to him to pay attention. He gives really good examples to make you understand the law. Exams may be tricky, however prepare extra time a week before exam to prepare (read textbook thoroughly and then study his outline before the exam). Great dude. Successful too.
Very interesting and funny professor with A TON of real world experience. he is amazing at explaining concepts and getting students to understand them. You can use notes on the tests, but you still have to study. but it's worth it- he makes the class really interesting.
BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. Vivek gives you real life examples from his tons of real world experience. Super nice guy, he makes our class laugh many times in a lecture. He is very clear about what will and will not be on exams, and i really didnt think they were that hard. They were open notes and open book! TAKE HIM TAKE HIM TAKE HIM!
If you take Business law with anyone else, you are crazy. I took this class because I had too. Now I'm going out of my way to take every law class Vivek teaches
Great teacher that makes a boring class interesting and really makes the class enjoyable. Would recommend.
Best professor I've had at UWL. Uses real life examples for everything from his own experiences and makes all the boring info easy to understand and interesting. Would recommend him. Tests are open book but do test your understanding. Go to class and listen and you will get an A. Vivek is awesome
Vivek is so awesome. He lectures are very laid back. BUS 205 was a challenging course, but he made it interesting and relatable. The exams are tough but open note.
Take vivek. He gives great lectures and has a lot of life experience that you'll enjoy hearing about. Class isn't too much work. Show up (you wouldn't want to miss his interesting lectures) take notes, study for tests. You can drop your lowest test score.
Great professor, very chill guy. Uses lots of life experience to make a seemingly boring class way more interesting. just show up to class and be active, no homework so its a pretty simple class.
Is one of my favorite professor at La Crosse. He makes class enjoyable for his students. Not to crazy of a work load, you just need to come to class and pay attention.
Vivek is my professor and my academic advisor and I can honestly say that he is one of the best here at UWL. I never write on rate my professor but Pande definitely earned a good review. If you have to take a class in the business core, take it with Vivek.
GO TO CLASS, Take good notes and Study a little bit before exams and you will get an A. This class is tough, but Vivek does a great job of making it interesting. He gives 3 OPEN NOTE exams and one is dropped. If you take good notes and pay attention in class there should be no problem with getting an A
Vivek is super laid back. Just attend class, study for the open note exams and you will be just fine. The exams aren't easy, but if you study you will get a good grade. He relates everything to the real world. Would definitely take again.
Not the easiest class I've ever taken, but he was a great professor. Exams are all open book, but are definitely hard. If you go to class, take good notes, and prepare for the exams you should do fine. Would recommend going to his office hours frequently, he is a big help.
Great Prof. always willing to help, gives great feedback. Attendance makes up for 10% of your grade. 2 midterm, 1 project + final. If you pay attention & take good notes during lectures there's not much you have to do as far as studying goes. Grades are fair!
Vivek is my favorite professor and my advisor at UWL. He is funny, keeps students' attention, and makes the lectures enjoyable. You have to attend class, and his tests are hard, but they are open book and notes.
Vivek makes this class very bearable through funny real life examples. He made his own outline of the textbook for us to use, and tests are open notes. The reason the tests are open notes are because they are incredibly difficult. To do well, you MUST attend class and take good notes. He does a great job of taking business beyond the classroom.
Vivek is one UWL's finest professors. Highly recommend him!
Not kidding, the best professor I have ever had. The lectures are interesting and he connects the material to the real-world in an applicable/relevant way. The semester project was fun and you could make it your own. He is a pragmatic grader and clearly spells out what he wants you to know, not just for exams, but for life.
Vivek is a great professor. He relates everything to real life examples, which makes things a lot easier to understand! take good notes in his class because you can use them on the exams. Drops the lowest test. Exams are tough but totally doable.
Gives an outline of whole semester so you don't need book and can follow along in class. Drops lowest exam and grades fairly.
Best professor I have had. I highly suggest anyone who can, should take at least one class with him.
Vivek is one of the best professors I've had. Great lectures, don't even have to read the book because he makes an outline to take notes on. 3 exams and one is dropped. One paper worth 15% and then a final. All exams are open "whatever" (texbooks, internet, notes) but you still really need to study. One of the hardest classes i've taken so worth it
I loved having Vivek as a professor, and learned a lot from him, both about the real world and business. He has a way of teaching that I wish more professors analyzed and copied, because he teaches in a way that offers wiggle room for very busy students, yet still expects you to listen and get good grades. Take him if you can for any class!
I had Vivek for BUS 205 and 405. Very similar structure. No homework. If you pay attention and show up for class, you should be fine. Open notes, but still challenging. He's very funny. Cool guy
Drops the lowest test score. Expects you to show up for class, but other than the final paper there's no outside work. The only time you need a textbook is for the exams. Most laid back and experienced person I've met.
Vivek made this class very enjoyable. Test were tough, but you get to drop one out of the three that you take. I would recommend taking him!
Vivek may be the smartest person I have ever met, he knows every law inside and out. I find teachers that have worked in their field of study previously do a much better job of teaching, and Vivek has plenty of experiance
Vivek is the most brilliant professor you will ever have, hilarious as hell, knows every thing he talks about and really care about that you are learning real world material. He swears a lot but that's not an issue for me and it made class a lot more entertaining!
I really enjoyed Viveks class! He really knows law. Just make sure to take good notes and you should be fine. He lets you use your notes on all of the tests... but do not rely on this. Definitely prepare for the tests - you will do much better. You will learn a lot from this class. Even with open notes - the tests are challenging. Teaches for life
His course is based on an outline he made from the textbook and everything on the test is straight off of the outline. His lectures are exceptional and he explains the content very well.
A great professor, teachers to the real world rather than just to pass a test. Tests are open book/note, but don't think you can't study because he does make them sort of tough due to you being able to use notes. Slow on getting test grades in.
He has his own version of the textbook that is only the stuff you need to know, and he goes over the whole thing telling you what to highlight and take notes on. You get to use this for the tests too, so it's really handy. He knows what he's doing and has his system for how he does things, and it works. Really fun, and learned a lot too
You'll be given a hand typed version of the text book written by vivek, this is your bible for the class. Straight to the point and easy to read. He cares for his students, wants to see them succeed. His method of teaching is very realistic and applicable to life (finally!). Lectures are hilarious. Tests are only grades, understand the material.
Vivek is easily my favorite professor so far at UWL. He doesnt waste your time by telling you what the important material is while pointing out what most likely wont be practical . He has a lot of experience in law from earlier in his life, so he gives a lot of great examples to help you understand the material. His grading criteria very clear.
There are 3 exams (drops your lowest one) and the final exam. The tests were all open note, but I would definitely recommend studying for them well in advance. They were pretty difficult and I was more successful when I didn't rely on my notes. His lectures are interesting as he has a lot of experience, so I would definitely recommend taking him.
He's realistic. Teaches you only what you need to know. My only issue is that he flies through everything. I tried to take good notes because his exams are open note, but it was so hard to keep up. He always seems like he's angry too which doesn't help. But overall, he's solid. Makes you put in effort to learn material. Just not my cup of tea.
Vivek is my favorite professor at UWL. He is passionate about his work and is a really good resource because of his extensive education and experience. I was actually bummed when this class was over. Definitely go to class and pay attention. Tests are open note but are still difficult. Take advantage of Vivek's knowledge, you won't regret it!
Such an overall nice guy. If you make an effort to go to class and somewhat participate he will make sure you do well in the class. I would definitely recommend him!
Vivek is honestly such a nice guy. He does his best to make you engaged and to relate to your life. Hes super chill and understanding. I definitely would recommend him!
One of the best professors I've had for sure. He is very knowledgeable about the material and makes it fun to learn about. He makes the examples in lecture funny and understandable, and his class in an easy A. If you read the outline and go to the lectures then you will ace the class. He only has 3 exams throughout the semester but they're not hard
I took this class in the spring of 2021. Vivek is very chill and an awesome professor. He makes learning interesting as he always jokes around and uses good examples. The class is made up of 3 tests, two midterms and a final, no homework. If you follow the outline he gives you and pay attention in class you will get an A. 10/10 recommend Vivek!
He made business law comical. The whole class was graded on 4 tests, so there wasnt really any homework. Just show up and pay attention in class.
I never thought I had an interest in business law before I took this class, but it's turned out to be my favorite class that I've ever taken. Graded only on 3 exams.
Your grade only consists of three exams. As long as you take notes and study for a bit before the tests you will pass. You cannot go wrong with Vivek. He really cares for his students too.
This class is graded by 2 midterms and 1 final that are pretty hard, so you definitely need to study. On the bright side Vivek is an awesome lecturer and always ties it into the real world. He is funny and makes class go by quickly. Show up to class and you'll pass!
Vivek was an awesome professor. The class can be difficult because there's only 3 exams and that's all the points in the gradebook, however he curves them a ton. He makes lectures interesting and has great stories that relate. Just make sure you go to class and actually study your notes even though you can use them on exams.
Vivek is great. He thoroughly explains the content, tells you if things won't be on the exam, and emphasizes the important things that will be on it. There are only 2 exams during the semester that have only multiple choice questions and the final, which is mostly multiple choice with a few short answer. Pay attention in class and you'll be good.
Vivek is the best professor I've ever had. He understood his students, related to them, and made things understandable in the real world. The only grades are three tests throughout the semester, and they're all comprehensive (NOT MEMORIZATION). Going to class is important because he explains things in a way to help you understand.
Vivek is easily one of the best professors at UWL if not the best. Sad to see him go next year he is truly a genuine person. So easy to like and he is so real with his students. He makes jokes that are genuinely funny and I honestly enjoy coming to his class. 10000/10 I love him.
Vivek is truly awesome, he relates to his students and tells us his real life experiences that relate to what he's talking about in lecture, which makes class interesting. He knows that this is a required course so he only talks about the things you need to know. He doesn't assign homework, so you're only graded on 2 midterms, and the final.
Prof. Pande is raw; he will tell you things as they are. Sometimes, it's just his opinion, but what he says comes from experience, which makes the class so great. The BLAW405 class specifically was loaded in knowledge but he does a great job at explaining it all. He will answer questions and was helpful to me during my time as an exchange student
One of the best classes I took at UWL. After a rather poor experience in previous business law classes, Vivek made me really enjoy learning the topic!
Vivek is one of the best professors at UWL. Because of his experiences in the real world, he really knows his stuff. His stories are hilarious and he's not afraid to tell you like it is. Come to class and study for the (3) exams and you'll do fine. Sad to see him leave!
Show up to class and you will pass.
I loved Vivek! Best BLAW professor at UWL. He is hilarious and has so many great stories to share. He is a former lawyer in Los Angeles, so he has a ton of knowledge to share. No homework but I would definitely rewrite notes after class. I will say his exams are tough so make sure you know how to apply the material to real life things.
LOVE Vivek. He is so funny and caring! I accidentally turned in something blank and he was super nice about it!!
Professor Pande is one of the funniest and nicest professors on campus. The things he teaches apply to the real world and will help you in the future. The entire class is based on three exams and they are tough exams. Make sure you study hard for each exam.
One of the best professors at UWL; he is very funny, caring, and easy-going. Made the topics in class interesting & connected them to real world cases. Show up to class, print off the note pages, listen during lectures and he will basically give you an A.
Vivek made this class super enjoyable. He always had interesting stories and connected everything to real-world examples. I swear this man has lived 100 different lives, so he tells great stories. You are only graded by 3 exams but as long as you show up to class and take notes, you'll be fine. All exams are open notes.
this dude is a g. enough said
He's probably the most relaxed professor I've ever had. Class is always fun and interesting with him. The only grades are three exams and they're pretty hard but he lets you use notes on them, so they're not too bad. If you show up to class, it's an easy class to pass.
Vivek was an amazing professor. Your grade consisted of 3 exams which you are aware of in the beginning. All of his exams are open note and if you attend class and take good notes you will do fine. He is funny and always related material to real life scenarios that are most often times really funny. Class is never boring and he is very educated!!
He is legitimately an amazing professor. I would have him teach me any subject for any class and I would be confident he could explain it in a way that I would understand it. He is full of the most random stories. Going to class is borderline like going to a show. Exams are fully open note, so take good notes. Simply goated.
Vivek hands down is the best professor I have ever had. He is so funny & makes class so enjoyable. Always tells you exactly whats on the open note exams. He uses real life stories to explain the material. This class is the best 3 hours of my week. If you have the chance to take any class with him, do it. He is so knowledgable about everything.
Vivek is really the coolest. He has a lot of life experience and says things as they are. I only have one negative thing to say, and that's that Vivek would get political. I took his class during the election, and he made it very obvious how much he hated one candidate, even when the discussion wasn't applicable to class; kind of unprofessional.
Hilarious guy once you get to know him. Only 4 grades but if you take great notes and show up you'll be just fine. Ignore the politic comments, because if you actually talk to him he gives you non biased facts, and will relate it to whatever topic we're discussing in class. Good luck trying to take him though he's moving out the country :)
Great professor. 4 grades in the course, 2 midterms (30%), a final (35%), and attendance (5%). The exams are open note and computer, just can't use your phone. I would recommend going to class even though you only have to go to 60% of them. A lot of the questions come right from the lectures. Always says he won't fail anyone. I would recommend him.
Take this in the best possible way: He is like a combination of Jimmy McGill, Dr. House, and Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. 10/10 absolute cinema.
Vivek is one of my favorite professors at I've had UWL. He's so funny and he makes a boring class interesting with his stories. The class consists of 3 open note exams worth 30% of your grade, 5% attendance grade and no homework. Exams are hard but as long as you come to class and take notes you will do okay. 10/10 professor take him
One of the most chill professors at UWL. NO HOMEWORK! Really easy to talk to.
the goat, he's leaving soon but he is the solidified goat. down to earth guy with insane stories. he understands that the material of this course is boring and that we're all taking it because we have to, he just wants us all to pass. i love vivek pande.
Vivek is the best instructor I have ever had, was super laid back in class but taught everything we needed to know. Helps you outside of class too and gave me some pretty good advice. Can't recommend enough you should take him for a course.
If every professor were like Vivek, the world would be a better place. Probably the easiest class I had this semester, but I learned the most compared to my other classes. Not even just about the course concepts; he has some crazy stories and good life advice. I wish I could take him again.
