Mrs Minich is hilarious, intelligent, and makes class fun. She is willing to work with you as long as you put in the effort.
Gives Great Lectures, So If You Listen And Pay Attention You Will Pass. Offers Bonus Points For Tests And Helps During Her Office Hours. Notes Are Fill In The Black With Power-points. Does Not Accept Late Work. Cannot Be On Phone Or She Will Kick You Out. Great Teacher!! Taking Her Again Next Semester.
Mrs. Minich is a great professor. She uses songs and hand gestures which REALLY helped me in this class. She provides fill in notes but doesn't put her slides online so GO TO CLASS. Tests aren't too hard and the quizzes are easy if you pay attention and do the homework.
She was wonderful! I was so nervous to take A&P and at the beginning of the semester. She made the lectures extremely informative because she knew what she was talking about. Stay off your phone and personal devices and the exams are easy if you come to class! Wish she offered more courses during the day. Best professor I have had!
She is a great teacher but she makes you work for it. She's a little quirky but it will help you in the long run. Do the homework it will help.
Minich is a very tough teacher but an amazing one at the same time! She will not take anyone's nonsense but she does know how to joke around every once in a while. Notes and lectures are super helpful!! She really does know what she's talking about which is great. Exams and quizzes are challenging but doable.
I'm currently taking this course. Anatomy and physiology is tough, but Ms. Minich does genuinely care about student success. Yes, the exams, quizzes, and homework are difficult. She keeps more office hours than most, and is super approachable and helpful. She's tough, but she's also the best instructor I've ever had because she genuinely cares.
She was an awesome professor! She taught thinks using hand gestures and rhymes that you would see people doing in the middle of tests. She was very funny but she didnt want any nonsense. She had four tests. There were a lot quizzes, but she always told us a few days before so we could study for them.
I wish I could choose more than just 3 tags. The course itself is very difficult, lots of info but believe me, you want Ms. Minich to be teaching you. She's very animated, if you're a grump, get over it. The things we do in class may seem silly but they help so much on exams! Always available and one of the best for this course. TAKE HER!
You will not regret taking her!!! She is a very hard teacher yes, she expects a great deal out of her students but if you show up and do as she says (study A LOT) then you will not only pass but you will LEARN! She cares so much that you fully understand and the best part is you do!! Definitely should be head of the biology department!!
Minich is such a GREAT professor! She is very tough and her lectures are highspeed and contains LOTS of material. She WILL make sure you LEARN. It is obvious she is very passionate about what she does. Showing up to class is a must and you WILL actually use the online book for this class. DO NOT TRANSFER TO CLARK! Best bet is to stay with her!
I'm not going to lie and say she wasn't a good professor. I got a C. I did decently in lecture class but lab class really messed up my grade and brought me to a 79.33. I asked Minich if she could help me get it to an 80 and she refused and said it wasn't "ethical". She has no compassion and doesn't care about her students. You'll be taking a risk.
Class material its self is EXTREMELY hard. It is a lot of info to obtain. I took this class in a 4week summer session, it was hard but doable. YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS! Her silly & funny quotes & rhymes are to help you. I PROMISE during the test & quiz you will be doing them to remember. She makes you interact for a reason. She knows what she is doing
If you don't come to class you will have a hard time passing. She makes class interesting and helps you memorizes the subject. Only 4 tests, lots of pre-homework and post-homework, and lots of quizzes.
For those students that say she is horrible, they are the students that do not come to class and do not study as much as they should. This is a tough class, but she will do everything in her power to help you reach your goals and TEACH you. She will expect full participation and determination to do better and better. Shes a great professor.
Mrs. Minich knows her stuff, but I do not recommend anyone to take her class. First test out of 162 Students were 7 As 20 Bs 30+ Cs 40+ Ds 50+ Fs. Second test had similar results. She will stop the class if youre on your phone. She times all the homework. Her test and quizzes are extremely hard and yes, I come to class and study
Mrs. Minich lectures were very interesting. She knows how to keep you awake during lecture. Showing up to class is a must to pass because of how in depth the lectures are. She is very helpful to answer any questions you have. The material itself is very difficult. Some of her questions on exams are impossible. Show up, do the homework, take notes.
The Material in her classes is difficult to learn but she makes it so much easier. Attendance in class is what will make it or break it for you. I loved how interactive her classes were because it made it so much easier to remember the material. She expects a lot from you but its nothing you cant handle as long as you are on top of your work.
Prof. Minich is very passionate and knowledgeable about A&P, but you'll have to set aside a lot of time outside of class to get things done. Homework and quiz for every chapter. (Sometimes pre AND post chapter hw). While it can be a little long and tedious, its very helpful for tests. Quizzes are much harder than the tests, so study! 4 tests &final
TAKE HER, NOT CLARK. Her class is very difficult and there is a TON of assignments, much more than any other class, but YOU WILL LEARN. She serious has the coolest ways of making you remember things and truly embeds them into your mind. If you put in the work you can make a C easily. Her quizzes are MUCH harder than her actual exams.
Professor Minich is hands down the best prof I've ever had. She loves what she teaches and tries her best to make it easier/fun for you to understand. Quizzes are way harder than the test, and you have Pre/Post lectures that are mandatory. LOTS of studying thats the only way you'l pass this class. She also includes 3-4 bonus questions on every test
A&P is a very hard subject with a lot of material. Ms. Minich teaches the course the absolute easiest way possible but the course is still difficult. Pay close attention during lectures, take good notes, and read the textbook and you will pass. Great professor. Always available to review concepts, tests, or just ask for advice.
Girl, No. Taking A&P2 with Volha is like learning anatomy in russian. I'm still trying to figure out where she pulled her test questions. I made an A in a&P1 and a "surviving C" in a&p 2. Girl, I read that book forwards & backwards, not helpful. Read ahead! Quizlet like there is no tomorrow. Um, why is hw timed? Girl, pick someone else. God speed.
Minich is a very passionate professor which could be seen from her teaching. Going to class, taking all the notes (the powerpoints are not posted) and reading the textbook thoroughly is crucial to pass the class.
This professor is the most difficult person ever!!! Don't take her!!! She makes everything hard, have to know every single detail. She teaches in lecture, and she still assigns to watch videos and take notes. HORRIBLEEEE!!!! Avoid her please
HAVE to go to class and HAVE to study or you WILL fail- easily. Only 4 tests: all application level, but they focus on her lectures (not everything in the book). Very passionate. Gets triggered easily & will call you out. Wouldn't take her if you didn't have her for A&P1 or you'll get lost. She expects you to know a LOT going into the course.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I went to her office hours for help and basically told me I was stupid. her tests are insane and she speaks too fast during lectures. she is degrading and rude.
Minich is a GREAT professor, especially if your major is Nursing! Her class is HARD but if you read, and do the homework you should do fine! She explains everything in detail and will always answer questions if you ask them. Do not go into her class thinking you can pass doing the bare minimum because you will fail. You get out what you put in!!
let me just start by saying if your a NURSING major you NEED to take minich. if you cant get through her class how do you think nursing school will be. I took Minich for A&P 1&2 and ended the class w/ a B. She is very passionate about this topic and she knows what she is talking about. READ THE BOOK thats the only way to make an A or B in her class
Mrs. Minich is the best professor for A&P. Her class is difficult and does not allow for you to do the bare minimum, you have to be passionate in order to do well. There were 5 tests and a lot of HWs + Lab apart of your grade. If you read the textbook, study efficiently, and go to her office hours you will do great in this class.
She lectures super fast, i seriously just payed attention to finish writing notes, and not process the information to learn. Her test are difficult, she expects you to know the concept by next class. You have to do lots of reading after lecture, which sucks because you have other classes to worry about.
Minich is a very passionate teacher, but she DOES NOT make her class easy. She demands that you actually LEARN the information instead of just retaining it for the tests. If you don't put in the work you will fail this class as the material is very complex. I highly recommend going to her office hours early in the semester & taking detailed notes.
If you dont plan on going to nursing school, medical school or dental school please take Dr. Clark. The class is already difficult and she makes it 10x worse. You literally have to read the book every single day and front to back if you want any chance of passing this class. I recommend taking it in the summer or at LoneStar with another professor
Please do not be intimidated by the way that this class is described by your peers, it really is not difficult if you put in the work. Simply looking over your notes for 10-20 minutes after class daily will truly help you imbed the information from lecture. Also, she will never test you on something she has not gone over, so BE ATTENTIVE IN CLASS.
Ms. Minich is by far the best prof I have ever had. She makes you work for your grade but tests are easy as long as you actually study for the exam and take the notes exactly how she tells you. Tests are mostly conceptual which truly tests if you know the material or not.
Pay attention, take notes, youll pass. She is an amazing lecturer and really knows how to teach Anatomy & Physiology. She has a pretty great sense of humor as well! Awesome teacher!!
Good professor. DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOURE TRYING TO SUCCEED. She believes that her class is top notch and nothing else matters. Not relatable. Makes you feel worthless. She is very coldhearted, although she does know what she is teaches very well and expects you to know it as soon as the next slide appears and tries to belittle you if you dont.
Perhaps the hardest professor I have taken so far at SHSU, but also one of the better ones. If you are a nursing major or genuinely want to learn A&P, you better take her. The way she teaches is extremely difficult, but you retain most of it and are better prepared for A&P 2 and other college courses. If you take her, BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD!!!!
Professor Minich is fantastic. She gives you all of the tools you need to be successful. The class is very difficult, if you follow her directions you should do pretty well.
Minich believes everyone learns the same way, & if you dont learn the way she expects then you wont pass. Quizzes dropped my grade a ton, not tests. Dont take her expecting an easy A, or B. Ive Never had a C but I struggled to pass this class. Expects you to study for 3 hours after each class. Passable with max effort. Good prof but dont recom
Mrs. Minich is overall a great professor but she can be very rude in the way she talks to you. She has a bunch of online homework in class quizzes and 5 exams. Her exams are all application level question so if you do not fully understand and apply what is going on you will fail the test. Going to her office is really helpful
Prof. Minich is very passionate about A&P, but her material and requirements are very difficult. I liked having her as a professor but I did not enjoy the class. I did learn a lot but I didn't retain any information and didn't do well on any of the tests. You're better off taking Dr. Clark, otherwise buckle down and be ready to give all your time.
This was literally the hardest class i have ever had to take at SHSU. It's basically her way or the highway! I wished everyday to get hit by a shuttle bus or the school to burn down just so I would not have to attend this class. Worst biology teacher ever, good thing Dr. Clark is teaching A & P 2 this semester. You are better off with him.
Minich is an amazing lecturer and can convey complex information about A&P in a way that is easy to retain. Dont just go to lecture and expect to do well in class. You HAVE to go to class, take notes, and do the homeworks in order to pass. Per chapter, she gives 1-2 homeworks and 1-2 extra credit chances. Its not hard to make an A/B if you try.
I took Clark for A&P 1, so I was pretty nervous going into Minich's class for A&P 2. Minich is a great teacher, she explains the material in a way that is easy to understand and retain. If you're willing to put in the work, you will do well in her class. Be proactive; Read the text, take lots of notes, and make flashcards.
I took Minich for A&P I and was very nervous about it at first. But after a semester, I can say that if you seriously put your mind to her coursework, you will do great. I'd say that if you go into this class expecting it to hard but willing to take it on, you will realize that she isn't as bad as people say. Just do your best.
She was one of the most amazing professors I ever had. The way she taught has helped me with my future classes. She is really strict and has a way of teaching that some might not like. Her tests are hard but she teaches in a way that helps you learn the material not just memorize it. The homework isn't bad but you have to study to do well on tests.
She's strict and expects a lot from you, but that is necessary to pass a class this hard. Attendance is not mandatory, but SO helpful! She teaches in an interactive way that engages students without intimidating them. Homework every class and quizzes every week. She consumes a lot of time, but it's worth it, especially for nursing majors.
Minich is a great professor, ignore all the bad comments because those are people who just dont want to work hard. She is very interactive, i took her during COVID and made an A in the class but I put in a lot of hours reading and studying to be successful. This is a difficult class, no extra credit, no test drops or replacements. Just do the work
Honestly the worst professor I've ever taken. She made things harder this year than any year even before Covid. She refuses to look at herself and her teaching style as an issue even when 90% of the class is failing. Huge question pools for tests and quizzes so good luck knowing what to study for. Do not take her if you want a chance to pass.
Worst professor ever. She does not help you at all. Everything is left up to you. I asked for help once and she blamed me for everything and pretty much called me dumb. Did not tutor me at all. She just makes you feel stupid for asking questions and for help. She cant teach either
She has got to be the hardest professor I have ever taken. Rumors in the past said her class was very hard before COVID. She did everything she could do to where the difficulty level in her class was much harder than it was pre-COVID. If you have the option, take any other professor. 10/10 do not recommend her to anyone.
Ignore the "those that rate low is bc they didn't put effort in" bc thats the biggest lie. Shes the worst; I'm great with school, grades, and take school very serious and it's so sad that I've never had so much trouble with a professor in my entire college experience. She made things so difficult during COVID and is disrespectful. 500/10 dont take
This professor made this class so hard. She can be cold hearted, and doesnt care about you. She will not curve or give you any extra credit. Her tests and quizzes are hard, and the quizzes are every week. Get ready to work your butt off for a decent grade. My advice... get a different professor.
I am a straight A student and had to spend every minute of my free time studying for this class to pull a B+. There are quizzes every week and they are HARD, with a whole chapter on each. This is hands down the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS unless it is the only one you are taking, you will not have time.
She's very nice, but isn't lenient at all on tests/quizzes unless you have a good reason or proof for missing them. She speaks quickly, energetically, and has an accent that's hard to understand sometimes on zoom (in person it isn't a problem, though).
h o r r i b l e
Stressful.
I spent all of my time on this class to pull off my A plus. Had no time for other classes. Shes crazy Intense and makes you feel like her course your life. She teaches from the second class starts and makes you stay 10 min past after speed talking the entire lecture so she can cram all info in. DO NOT TAKE HER, Im trying to save you the stress
She is a great professor but her class is challenging. Made a 93 on exam one because I studied a lot, then a 78 on exam two since I was lazy. Fill in the blanket notes with a lot of details. Lots of application style questions on exams so must really understand the processes. HW twice a week. Quizzes weekly and some may be unannounced.
Very difficult to work with. Do not take her if you do not have to. I know many people who dropped/failed her class. That many people dropping and failing should show her abilities as a teacher.
I took A&P 1 Fall 2020 with Professor Minich, and personally, I love her. Her way of teaching makes the class more fun and does movements, songs, or gives specific examples to help you retain information better. She does have a slight accent, but it wasn't a problem (at least for me). It's important to look over notes and read the textbook.
I really like her style of teaching. She will go into depth to make sure a concept is as clear as possible for students. It is very important to study not just your notes, but look at the textbook as well. Make flashcards and highlight important information to help remember things. Make sure to put in your best effort, as it is a challenging course
I wouldn't take this class if you didn't take A&P1 with her. She gives you everything you need in the class but expects you to know it for exams. It isn't just a memorization class. If you are going into the medical field I would definitely recommend Minich. Go to office hours for additional help if needed, she really does care about your success.
Professor Minich, although strict, is a great professor. She has very high expectations of all of her students, but will help you when you ask, answers emails very quickly, and is an amazing lecturer. She is one of the few professors I have met who loves what she teaches. If you WANT to learn take her class!
Five Exams (Last one is not cumulative), a couple of Pop quizzes, Hw due online every class day. Attendance is not a grade, but you will not pass if you dont show up. She's tough and a lot is covered every class, but will help you if you are struggling. Take advantage of her office hours. She is also amazing at putting in grades fast.
Professor Minich gives amazing and unique lectures that if you miss, you'll regret. All of the information on the quizzes is straight from the lectures. Homework after every class, although it is short and not too difficult. She wants her students to succeed, but has no sympathy if you don't put in the work.
TERRIBLE CLASS DO NOT TAKE
I have taken Minich 3 times now, and I will take her any chance I get. Her lectures are super informative, and she does whatever she can to help make topics stick. She's very straight forward and you'll never wonder when something is due. She is strict, but if you really want to learn and put in the effort you will do well in her classes.
The absolute best professor I have ever had. She has a teaching style that WORKS. If you do not devote the effort you wont pass, but she gives you the information you need to succeed in this course. Expectations are very clear.
Minich is by far one of my favorite professors at Sam Houston. She truly cares about what she teaches and wants her students to understand the content and succeed in the course. She is a hard prof, but if you put in the work and do what you are told, you will do good in the course!
This class was difficult but professor Minich really pushes you. She really teaches and you would have to put effort outside of the class to pass. Your gonna have to read the textbook and study the notes you take in class but it is all for the greater good.
She is a great professor, she cares about what she teaches and makes it enjoyable to learn. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't go you most likely won't pass. There is a lot she goes over in every class and a quiz every week. Homework is due everyday before class.
Best professor ever. She is dedicated to her work and wants you to learn the material the class can be hard but if you study and put in the work you can pass. This class made me actually learn the material and she taught it amazingly! some pop quizzes but she usually hinted at them or you can kinda assume when. grateful I was able to learn from her
This class is difficult so be prepared to put in lots of hours studying. Don't miss lecture because every lecture is essential to you passing your tests and there could possibly be a quiz. Minich is a tough teacher but she makes sure when you leave her class you understand how the body functions. Review your quizzes with her because it helps alot.
If you have the opportunity to take another professor, TAKE THEM
I loved Professor Minich's teaching style. She uses models to help students visualize concepts, it helped me a lot. There are quizzes every week or 2 over the material in class but as long as you study you should be fine. I would take her again for A&P 2. To pass this class you NEED to STUDY
Mrs. Minich is a GREAT professor. She uses phrases and hand motions to help you learn. There are about 3 quizzes before each test. The textbook is super helpful and class is not mandatory, however, I would not recommend missing a class. The class is very challenging, but I would definitely recommend her.
She's an amazing professor, and I will kindly take her again for A&P 2. If you're interested in the medical field than please take this wonderful lady. It is hard of course, but that's anatomy for you, med school/nursing school will be harder. She's passionate about what she teaches and really puts in the effort to make you a better student. 10/10.
Professor Minich gives a TON of work. There is a homework assignment to complete after every class, tons of quizzes, and the exams are tough. Overall, her lectures are interesting and you can tell that she wants her students to succeed. I would recommend her, but make sure you have time in your schedule to devote to this course in order to do well.
Amazing Professor, very passionate on what she teaches. Class is lecture heavy, attendance is not mandatory however it is not recommended to miss a single class. There will be a lot of pop quizzes, 5 total exams, final is not cumulative. And a homework assignment after every class. Class requires a lot of studying and preparation.
Great teacher. You have to put in the work though. If you are not doing too hot on the exams and quizzes, your homework and a good lab-grade could help you out a ton. You should really study for this course though if you want to be successful.
Minich is a great professor but YOU MUST STUDY! her lectures are very entertaining but the course it`s self is very in depth. A&P is gonna be hard with any professor but Minich makes it fun. If you try and show up to office hours she will help you get the resources you need. class is not mandatory but if you do not show up YOU WILL FAIL.
Ms. Minich is the best teacher I have ever had. Her tests and quizzes have applicational questions which give you practice for using your knowledge in real life situations. She uses small interactive techniques to help everyone remember the material. Every single concept is explained in a helpful, clear, and concise manner.
I did NOT enjoy taking this class. The way she talks to her students is very disrespectful. I also did not like the fact that towards the end of the semester she starts to give out pop quizzes.
Mrs. Minich was in fact a good professor with interesting lectures. If you want to pass this class get ready to read, study, and spend most of your time on this class rather than studying for anything else. She does not drop any grades or do curves. So please if you do not want to take this class again do what she tells you and STUDY.
Her morning classes aren't worth the burnout. I liked her for A&P1, but this class was brutal especially if you have a lot from other classes too. Her quizzes & tests are already hard, but when you're tired it's worse.(I passed bc of lab). Unless you're going into a medical field take Clark it's easier. She is a good prof though just tough
This is tough course that will require studying. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended because of her she lectures. Will be quizzes and homework.
Professor Minich is a great professor her lectures are heavy, but they also are very interesting. Tests and quizzes are difficult if you do not study! I definitely recommend her if you're planning to major in nursing because all of her quizzes, tests, and her practice questions are applicational questions which will help for nursing or med School
Best professor
She is an amazing teacher, and the she is very passionate about the subject. She always makes reference to make it easy to remember the material and she does not move on until everyone has it down. Attendance is not mandatory but I would highly recommend you attend every class or you will be lost for the next class.
this class is only hard if you dont study, she literally gives you the notes to print out and you just fill it in, she gives clear and good explanations and finds fun ways to help us remember the information. DO NOT miss class she goes through smooch in just one class if you miss one class you'll be lost but great teacher over all
Minich is an awesome teacher, she is very engaging and her teaching style encourages the entire class to be actively participating. Advice: print out her notes in color, make sure you show up to every lecture (attendance not mandatory, but you WILL be behind) and participate in the lectures as she will call you out. Hard course but I did very well!
not really sure why there are so many great ratings for this professor. taking this class is already difficult and she does not try to make things better. random quizzes throughout the semester and tests are a hit or miss. go with Clark he is the better option!!
Good reviews were written by professor Minich! A lot of people end up dropping. Sends out rude and discouraging emails to her students. Talks really fast. Will not curve ANYTHING! No extra credit. Random quizzes almost every class. Dr. Clark is a way better professor to take.
Do not take.
I love Ms.Minich! Anatomy and Physiology is a challenging subject, but she's good at organizing it to understand them better. She's always open to helping students, just respect her time. There's homework after every lecture and a few quizzes per exam(there are 5 exams). If you're looking for an easy class to skip and do minimal work, keep looking.
Not a good professor for this class. If you have a job she does not care, you will probably have to quit to make flashcards and do hw. Too much busy work that does not prepare you for the test.
Couldn't say enough good things. So passionate and engaging. I looked forward to class: as long as I paid attention the material was made super easy to understand. Minich does not tolerate disruptions and I respect her for that. Just come with a good attitude. Don't take her if you're too cool to participate or pay attention. You're missing out.
Honestly this class was amazing! She is so engaging with her students and actually makes learning fun. Show up to class, that is something very important, and although it is a difficult class it is very manageable. These other comments are just lazy people who do not try and expect the class to be easy. I had a job, worked 3-4 days a week, bffr.
It's A&P, no matter who the professor is, it's a tough course. Mrs. Minnich is the best to take it with, she provides an easy follow-through on her notes. It's not mandatory but if you don't show up, you will fail. Show up, take notes, and study.
Her way of teaching is not for everyone and she is very harsh. If you miss class, you WILL fail. I highly recommend taking a different professor because if you do not understand after one time of her explaining it, and you go to her after class she will talk to you like you are stupid. Choose someone else. She is rude and not understanding.
Professor Minich is a great professor! A&P is a tough class, make sure you dedicate a lot of time. Has many quizzes, but as long as you study and know the notes then you will be fine. She can be very tough, and gets upset with the class easily if you don't remember a lot from the past lecture. Be prepared to study a lot for this class.
She might come across as rude in the beginning but then she grows on you. She grades you test and quizzes legit within an hour after you take them. If you take a MWF you will have homework due before them, and they are pretty quick and easy to complete if you attend lectures. She makes class very interesting, but do not have your phone out....
Prof Minich is an amazing prof! She is very passionate about her teaching and really wants her students to learn. She has many quizzes throughout the semester, but as long as you study the notes she gives you then you will do fine. Make sure you are prepared for each class. Also, do not have your cellphone out, she requires them to be put away.
She thinks the classes is easy because she know everything aready
I personally really enjoyed her classes! You just have to put in the work for her class, if you are naturally inclined towards biology though, you will do great with almost minimal effort. She gives lots of quizzes, exams aren't cumulative, notes aren't online, the hw requires you to buy McGraw Hill Connect access, and there are no curves on exams.
SHOW UP TO LECTURE!! Every lecture is important because she covers so many topics in one class and she will go into detail to make sure you learn it. This course is difficult and she does have MULTIPLE quizzes every week so its important to show up. It is very rare for classes to get cancelled and I will 100% be in her class for AP2.
Professor Minich is a great anatomy instructor with engaging lectures, helpful visual aids, and an approachable attitude, dedicated to student success.
Very difficult professor, she goes through her lectures VERY fast... So its very important to make sure you pay attention to every lecture. I do NOT recommend missing a class day, you will follow behind it's very important you come to class everyday. She does not give extra credit, curve grades, or give you a chance to redeem yourself.
An amazing professor ! Had her for both a&p 1 and 2. The content itself is very hard and you will need to study a lot but she gives many rhymes, acronyms, etc to make it as easy and understanding as possible. Pop quizzes towards middle of semester, no electronics in class at all since she hates disruptions, easy online hw after every class. TAKE !!
I took her for A+P 1 and 2 and she is a professor that will tell you what she expects of you directly. Don't skip class, study as much as she tells you to and the ways she tells you to, have a consistent study group before every test, don't fall behind on the homework and just respect her. If you do these things, you will do amazing in her class.
Minich was an awesome A&P 2 professor! Very organized and to the point. She does give pop quizzes so make sure you study your notes! She's very organized with the notes in class as well! I enjoyed her class tremendously. If you do not skip class, you'll be fine, as long as you make time for this class, because anatomy is challenging as it is.
Great professor!! Lectures were clear esp for how difficult the subject is. Be ready for pop quizzes once a week + hw after each lecture. be prepared to STUDY STUDY STUDY. AP2 def more difficult than AP1. overall 10/10 prof.
Minich is a great professor, she does have an accent but it's not too hard to understand. The course is very difficult, so go to her office hours, tutoring, and study your butt off you will succeed! As long as you show up to class and pay attention to the lecture and do the homework you'll be fine. Beware of the pop quizzes!!!
Mrs. Minich is my favorite teacher I have had so far at SHSU. Her class follows a very distinct outline, and her notes are so detailed. Her class is difficult, but the information you will learn is worth the time and difficulty. If you take A&P2 with her, bring the A&P1 notes the first day of class!
Mrs Minich is an extremely skilled professor. I find that the people complaining and receiving poor grades are just looking for an easy A. The lectures are prepared and organized and will prepare you for exams as long as you come to class. Mrs Minich is STERN but she is always there to help. Come to class and study and you will be fine!
Minich has a lot of knowledge and does well at teaching it. However, she has a short patience, gets mad if you don't know questions, and all around is very strict. No phones. No laptops. You must show up to every class or else you WILL fall behind. Exams and quizzes are very difficult. You will have homework and you HAVE study EVERY night to pass.
Although Ms. Minich is a very nice lady, she is a tough teacher, but doesn't hesitate to help students who go to her office hours. Since this is a tough course, you MUST STUDY, whether it's A&P 1 or 2. You cannot pass without studying!!!! She goes through her lectures pretty fast so you HAVE to listen and take the notes she gives.
A&P is a hard class no matter what. She makes the content as clear as possible and is a great teacher. There are a ton of pop quizzes so studying every day is essential. If you pay attention in class and study hard you will get to enjoy everything her class has to offer. If you don't want to work hard pick a career where you don't need to take A&P.
She is a wonderful professor. I took her for both A&P 1 and 2 and she really is amazing. She is very stern in her class, but she does it to fully get your attention and to help you be successful in her class. There are a few pop quizzes but if you study then they are not hard at all. Show up to class everyday, it will benefit you in the end.
She is really great at including interactive things in her lectures. Showing up to class is important and it is really hard to make up missed lectures. She is very lecture heavy, but they're fast paced and include pre-made notes. She wants to see her students succeed. She is a fast grader but gives lots of quizzes. MAKE FLASHCARDS!
This professor taught well, but the quizzes were difficult for me and it was hard to keep up with how many there were.
Loved this class but you need to study and put the hours in if you want to do good. Gives written out notes that you fill out in class word for word. Go to office hours and look at your quizzes. Best advice to make the class easier just memorize the notes it will help. Made anatomy so less scary
If you want a stress free semester, then DO NOT TAKE HER! I studied every night for hours, and still barely made a B. She has very unnecessary expectations, sends out passive aggressive emails, and over all will make you feel very dumb if you need help. The burnout that she will give you is not worth it. Take this class online if at all possible.
Crams information, speaks very fast, yells at students, makes flashcards, makes you take so many notes to where you are more focused on writing rather than learning. Bans electronics even though some people are better at typing notes. I made her flashcards all night and still failed the test, she needs to understand that everyone learns different.
Would not recommend
Mrs. Minich is my favorite professor! You can tell that she puts a lot of effort and time into her lectures and notes. She is the only professor to take the time and make fill-in-the-blank notes with the information you need to know for her exams. Anatomy and Physiology has A LOT of information and content but she made it easier to comprehend.
Difficult class, if you don't need the class, take w/ someone else. Future healthcare providers should take this class with her. Hw due before every lecture, and sometimes extra hw outside of that, you have to study every day sometimes multiple times a day. Test and quiz questions are not memorization, but rather applying the knowledge you learned.
She is a tough teacher, but this is not an easy class where you can do nothing. If you do not study, your grade will quickly show that you are not. She is strict about phones and talking during her class. She just wants your attention and respect. The exams and quizzes are straight from your notes. Study well, and the class is easy. Overall great.
Ms. Minich is absolutely amazing at what she does. I have never had a more engaging lecture where I am also understanding what I am learning. Participation matters! Also if you do not show up to class, even though she does not take attendance, you will most likely fail. 5 exams, pop quizzes randomly, and homework after every lecture.
Ms. Minich was a wonderful professor! However, this class is not an easy A if you want it, you have to work for it! Listen to her strategies she creates all her test/notes and go to class. Study, make flashcards, use whiteboards and take the class seriously you will be fine. Go to her office hours and be prepared for pop quizzes.
Took her for A&P 1 and 2, it's impossible to fail this class. She gives you fill-in-the-blank notes and that's what you literally have to study, accessible outside class every day too. Always go to lectures and study right after class. She's nice and caring if she sees you actively putting in the effort, one of the best professors I've had at Sam!
Minich is a great professor and is accessible outside of class, so if you're struggling use those office hours!! We have homework after every lecture and have pop quizzes randomly throughout the semester. She may or may not tell you about quizzes but be prepared. You WILL have to study and put in the work or else you will see your grade plummet.
This lady is extremely uptight. She is difficult to deal with and makes no exceptions for you. My least favorite professor by far. She also forces her students to make these ridiculous hand gestures to "help" understand the material, but they only confused my classmates and me more. This is not a fun or friendly professor.
This professor gave me stomach ulcers due to stress :))
Minich was a great professor, however she is strict and fast-paced. Attendance is not mandatory but you probably will not do well if you don't show up. This is a tough course and she does not budge with grading. She is a GREAT prof that wants her students to succeed but I stress saying study, study, study the material!!
Great professor! Lectures are full of new information, STUDY STUDY STUDY
IMO she's not bad teacher, A&P is typically a hard course + she gives access to fill in the blank notes which help if you attend lecture. Put in the effort to succeed you'll be fine. Nursing majors specifically, expect to give the class 100% including lab! Minich is a tough professor but YOUR grade is reflected in your contribution to the class.
Minich is a great professor. She gives fill-in-the-blank notes and has clear expectations from day one. She's willing to work with you and provides lots of help. She also offers many different ways for you to remember the material. That being said, this class is hard. If you don't put in the effort, you won't get the grade simply.
This professor talks down to students, forces them to participate in inappropriate class gestures, and she is impossible to communicate with. Do not bother going to her office hours because she will not help you at all. If you have the option to take this class with another professor, please do. It is not worth the stress and the headache.
Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 are the hardest courses I've taken to date. To pass you need to keep up and study outside of class as much as possible. Lots of information to know with not enough time but she is a great professor who wants everyone to succeed. Attendance isn't taken but skip class at your own risk- one class missed can cost you.
You will need to study for this class, more than any other. Her quizzes and tests are hard, but that helps you prepare for the future. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to attend class because teaching yourself anatomy is not easy. Go to her office hours, she admires you more if you do. Overall she is a great professor
she is by far my favorite professor but you do have to be 100% prepare 100% of the time as long as you study before each class and stay on top of your studying you will be fine. she can be very intimidating and does expect a lot from her students but she really does mean the best and does want you to succeed. she is big on having notes completed
She is a good professor! As long as you study and put effort into her class, you will pass. If you don't, your grade will reflect it. She gives you fill in the blank notes that you fill out during class. USE THESE TO STUDY!!! Attend her office hours to review exam and quizzes, she will explain why you got stuff wrong and help you understand.
This course is hard no matter what. She is the best professor to take in person and gives real life examples to help you. You HAVE to study EVERY DAY even if you don't want to if you want to pass. A total of 14 quizzes, 4 exams, and homework online after every class but it is easy. This class is terrible but you just need to pass.
STUDY. STUDY. STUDY! you HAVE to study and learn your learning type. she is a very sweet teacher but can be strict. if you get a 69.4 you fail, if you get a 69.5 you pass, BUT if you're a nursing student you must aim for an 80 at least. go to her office hours and genuinely put in the effort to study, not simply memorize the material.
This class is hard no matter what but she is your best option. She gives real life examples and songs to learn stuff. You have to study EVERY DAY or you will fall so behind. You get the grade you earn. Do practice quizzes, quizlets, anything you can because this class is horrible and so draining.
She's really good if you actually study, pay attention, & show up to class.
study 2 hours a day minimum
She is really tough on pop quizzes and her test are not the easiest, but she is a great teacher and explains things very well despite her accent. Homework due before every class period and quizzes every week.
She moved fast, and didn't slow down at all. I took her fall semester and didn't put extra time into studying. Go to her office hours, you will have to have some knowledge but she will definitely help fill in the blanks.
Amazing prof. She makes sure you know the information and helps you prepare for all tests. She has pop quizzes and gives you notes that you just need to fill in. You will have to study, but I highly recommend her.
Many people don't like this professor, but I thought she was an outstanding professor. The course material was very challenging and she taught it to us as simply as possible. You need to attend every single lecture, and you need to make ample time to study. You will not pass this class if you do not do these two things.
Many people do not like Minich, but that's because they don't listen to her. She gives perfectly studyable fill-in-the-blank notes complete with diagrams, but she does not post slides, so you MUST attend class. She explains things in creative and simple ways to make it easy to understand. In order to pass, you MUST study. She makes an A achievable.
She makes learning so much fun! Stay on top of your work and notes for an easy grade.
BEST professor I've had. can be challenging course, but her fill in the blank notes, engaging lectures and ways of helping us memorize the content make it so much easier. Ppl fail bc they don't take the class seriously and don't put in the effort needed. If you do exactly what she says and go to class, you'll be good. Love her!
I love Mrs. Minich as long as you pay attention in class you'll get a good grade. Her tests are basically the notes. All her quizzes you can get up to 110 and she drops the lowest 2 at the end of the semester. Go to her office hours to see what you get wrong those concepts and questions will look very similar on the test.
Attendance not taken, but important (=better understanding due to teaching style), online hw due 1hr before each class, quiz every week, test after each chapter, online book used occasionally for hw assignment, faced paced lectures, studying after each class = extremely important to pass, no phones in class, great professor. Hard workers will pass!
This is hands down the BEST teacher I have had in my life! She breaks diffcult topics down to be easily understood and creates tools that will help you remember them. However, I have heard if you did not take her A&P 1, her A&P 2 will be really difficult to keep up with. YES pop quizzes will happen esp. in A&P2
